Rosie was plenty excited to dance with her friend, until she saw the candles flicker out of the corner of her eye. Her heart sank as they flickered again, before the lights went out completely. They could only last for so long, huh? Despite the fact it was completely dark, Rosie was looking around for any source of light. Soon enough, people started casting Lumos onto their wand. And for now, Rosie could still see Reid, which was good. His presence helped her relax in times like these, that's what best friends did for each other. She pursed her lips as she took her wand out of her pocket. Her dress had pockets, it was the best part.
"Lumos." She casted, flicking her wand and hopefully it lit. Rosie lifted her wand and turned around again to see Reid, reaching out gently and holding onto his jacket. "I know you might wanna run off, but... Stay here for a second, when more lights go up, we'll be able to see what's going on." It was a selfish request, maybe, but she was scared. These events always went wrong. She wanted to have a good time with her friends, but apparently that was not allowed according to their horrid bad luck!
Rosie eventually heard Adam and spun around, her eyes landing on him. She shot her hand up, hopefully waving Adam over to her if he could see her. "Here." Rosie called quietly, hoping if he didn't see Rosie, Adam would see Reid's tall figure. She continued waving before the other Lumos' from people's wands highlighted the massive bug things that were flying around the pitch. They were huge. And very ugly. And kinda scary. Okay, very scary. Her grip on Reid's sleeve got a little tired as he glanced up at him.
"We have to get people out of here." She mumbled up to him. Rosie knew that she wanted to get back to Adam pretty soon, but there was no doubt terrified younger students that needed help. Rosie was scared, but there were more important matters to handle that weren't her own. She didn't want to let go of Reid's sleeve just yet, her head lowering down as if she could hide herself from the moths. Rosie took a soft breath, glancing up at her ruined dance date. Was it necessary to grab their brooms yet? Would it be smarter to be higher than them, or would the insects just chase them around?
"What do we do?"

As the buzzing grew in volume, Atlas squinted as she saw the shadows of multiple little flying creatures make their way down to the pitch. As they flew through the light coming off of several student's wands, she tried to get a better look turning her head as she tried to pinpoint the creature.
Seeing the little creatures making B-Lines to the flowers on students or the arrangements on the table, Atlas was fairly certain it was Vampire Mosps they were dealing with. She had read about them in a magical creatures book her dad had gotten her a few years back and although she had never personally encountered them she knew they could be dangerous when provoked.
Students were quick to try Incendio-ing the little guys and Atlas could quickly see that chaos was ensuing. Chuckling softly to herself Atlas couldn't help but see the humor in the little creatures descending on the ball but as they attacked her fellow peers she knew she had to help as a plate of cupcakes went soaring past her head.
Turning quickly to face Ethen, Atlas pursed her lips trying to keep in a laugh as she couldn't help but love the haphazard way he was fighting the moths. She had a small arsenal of spells she had picked up in her classes but she didn't want to leave Ethen alone in his food fighting as she grabbed another plate of cupcakes hurling it at one of the mosps.
Every fiber of her being told her this was an easy way to be attacked and hurt and there was the possibility of hitting the other attendees but through thick and thin should be there for Ethen as she laughed watching as the cupcakes left her plate soaring through the air.
"Eat this!" she shouted at the mosp.
ACTION: Flicking plate in hand to send cupcakes through the air at Mosp #8.

BLOOD
“What?!” Arlo whispered back as confusion splashed across his face. His eyes would drift from the jars of black liquid to Marion’s face as they searched for an answer. How could it be blood? Blood was red and even if it was old it might darken, but it wouldn’t turn black would it? What she would say next would rock him even further. To stop the spread they withdrew her blood.
As the words made their way through his mind, Arlo’s hand would go back to his knee. Just as the nurse had said, his treatments were necessary to stop the curse from seeking out his heart. Was the same poison that stayed locked in his veins the one that flowed through Marion? Is this what his blood now looked like? But she said that she had been sick for a very long time. Could it be that the spiders had existed all this time?
“Marion...I don’t understand. You must have been attacked too, but why are they keeping it? Why not just throw it away?” There would be no time for answers. The area around them was plunged into darkness. Arlo would take of his defensive stance before her and as he reached back, his hand would find hers. The cold of her flesh was still unusual, but did not come as the shock as it had before.
Like fireflies popping into action, wands began to light around them. It was dim but at least they would be able to make out what was going on. Marion’s scream had cut though the air like a knife through soft butter. She had cast her spell and now it was time to flee. As his date went to drag away the bag, her hand would slip and she would fall back on her bum. Arlo dashed to her side and would seek her hands once more as he would attempt to help her up. From the corner of his eye he would see movement as the sound of glass clinking against glass caught his ear.
“Tyranni! No! Don’t touch that. You don’t know what it is!” Arlo shouted his warning as he ran back towards her. With a lunge he would attempt to grab onto the bag. If successful, Arlo would try to grapple it away from her. It would be in this moment that the source of the mysterious buzzing would reveal itself. All around the pitch the winged beasts would descend upon them. “Holy shit!” The boy called out as fear gripped him. “Marion! Help!”

Zykeal's voice was gentle, and he was trying to pull her in the general direction of the changing rooms. Ivy was eager to follow, although she could barely see in the darkness. The light cast from the wands helped light her path a little, but she was still tripping over her own feet - more so from the fear than the darkness, really. Why, oh why, did I have to wear heels today? She could hear a few screams around her, but she didn't register it, not really understanding why everyone was yelling, until she looked up.
Ivy clapped a hand over her mouth, only just managing not to scream. "Oh my God. Oh my God!" she breathed, stopping dead in her tracks. Mosps. It was dark, but she could make out the unmistakable outline of the moth-wasp hybrid. Ivy's private tutor had made her read about them as a child, a thick, dusty book about dark creatures. She had thought it a waste of time, announcing that she would never encounter them anyway, so there was no point in learning about them, and had run outside to play instead. Of course, Ivy wished she had read the passage properly now.
There was no going back now. Ivy yanked at Zykeal's hand, trying to avoid the mosps and get out safely. She was acting on pure instinct now, her heart racing and her hands shaking. All she wanted to do was leave, but before she even got off the dance floor, a familiar voice drew her attention to - oh crap, was that Ana? What was she doing? The second-year seemed to be trying to attract the mosps, and was now attempting to set a bunch flowers on fire. Ivy stared at her in horror. She was going to get herself killed.
In a split second, the Gryffindor made a decision. A very stupid decision, really, but she wasn't stopping to think. For some reason, Ivy felt a sort of connection to Ana, and considered her almost a friend nowadays. She whirled to Zyk, dropping his hand. "Get out of here!" She placed her hands on his chest and pushed him away, hoping that he would get the message that he needed to leave. "I'll be fine!" With that, Ivy turned around and ran after Ana, not looking back. "What the bloody hell are you doing, Ana?" she hissed, reaching her doppelganger.
IF THE MOSPS FOLLOW ANA
It was only now that she began to realise what a stupidly dangerous decision she had made. As the mosps drew closer to them, Ivy berated herself for not bringing her wand. Oh, God... She turned to Ana, eyes flashing. "You're an idiot, you know that, right?"
Another plan formulated in her mind, and she looked down at her shoes. The clasps and buckles on her heels had already come undone long ago, and all Ivy had to do was step out of them and swoop down to pick them up. The Gryffindor lobbed the shoes one by one at the mosps, unsure if it would do anything. "What were you thinking?" The question, half-shouted, was aimed at not only Ana, but also herself.
IF ANA'S PLAN DOESN'T WORK
Ivy sighed with relief when the mosps decided not to follow the older girl and grabbed Ana by the wrist with the intention of pulling her away before she could do something stupid again. "Ana, let's leave," the first-year snapped. She gaped at her as Ana ripped her skirt off and threw it at the mosp before throwing a vase of flowers at it. What was she doing? Did she want to die or something? "Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

[font=Times New Roman]Interacting with @Ivy Bellamy
Open to InteractionsBeyond his expectations was the way that Ivy was about to act, he was leading her in her frightened state towards the exit that she was pleading for. At that point, it was his sole mission to get her to safety and secure her well being. For his mindset, it was his responsibility, and that responsibility was shifted as soon as the girl dropped his hand and turned to push him away. Zykeal stood there, as she pushed him, not even budging with her nudge. A slightly confused look overtook him for a moment before she shouted, "I'll be fine."
Unfortunately, this didn't set his mind at ease, actually, it made him slightly resentful of the girl who was his date for the night. Golden hues lit by the illuminated wands around him watched as Ivy ran away and started berating the girl she had called her look-a-like earlier in the night. There was the thought of oversight that crossed his mind as he took a moment of consideration on the meaning of that other person to the girl he was with that night. Sadly, this didn't quite stim the spur of resentment and anger that rose inside of him for the actions she had just pulled towards him.
Light was continuing to rise throughout the pitch as the wands of other students continued to light the sky. One hand still clenched his wand, laying flat to his side against his pants leg. The other hand was now curled, fingers tight and in a fist. Hues darted around the scene now, grasping the situation as he noticed that some type of flying beasts were attacking students and causing mayhem among the participants of the ball. "Leave?" he muttered to himself, head lowering so that his eyes could stare down upon the dimly lit ground and wand beneath his gaze.
Leaving would never be an option, how little did this girl he invited to this festivity think of him? Quick questions spread through his thoughts like the muggle pandemic, annoying him, angering Zykeal to his very core. Lifting his head once more, he looked to his right and saw an upturned table and decided he'd casually approach the object. Zykeal was nothing but stoic, always stoic, some people he knew in Hogwarts to be fearless, he found that to be foolish. Fear was to be respected and conquered. For Zyk, it was as if he could just focus his fear and figure out what the best outcome would be in the situation he was presented with.
Shifting his wand back into the inside of the pocket of his vest, he looked at the leg of the table and raised a leg at it. Pushing down his leg with force, he kicked the leg of the table and would break the leg off the table in a quick motion of brutality. The auburn/red-headed boy was clearly taking his frustration out upon the recent events that had just unfolded with this poor table. The other goal in mind though was to get himself something like a baseball bat, a beater stick for those wizards who preferred quidditch. Bending down, he'd pick up the now-departed wooden table leg.
Having the sense to use the confusion of his fellow students then, he'd take his now blunt object and take it towards the wall of the quidditch pitch, letting the leg rest upon the side of his shoulder as he walked casually along, not paying much attention towards the other students but keeping his eyes darting around his perimeter for those nasty flying creatures, taking care to see if any would approach him. If none had, he'd continue to the wall and turn to rest his back upon it. Those furious eyes would shift to where the fight was taking place still, annoyed with the Griffs quidditch captain's actions that led to the chaos at hand.
Inspecting his surroundings for a quick moment, he'd take care to make sure that he couldn't be approached from behind, which he decided that'd be the most obvious place that one of these creatures would attack from. Noting that he'd hopefully be able to see anything approaching him at that time, he shifted his eyes back over to where Rafa was and rolled his eyes once more. That kid annoyed the hell out of him. Regardless, his attention was drawn back towards Ivy's actions and he couldn't help but shake his head in utter disappointment. "Hell' she doin," he questioned to himself out loud.
This would be his stance, for now, Zykeal would watch over the girl, even though he knew he wouldn't be able to forgive her actions towards him in the future, he'd continue to hold the responsibility that he bestowed upon himself on making sure that her safety was in his top priority. The 11-year-old is used to this type of chaos, fighting, having come from the background of the North Dublin ghettos. Experience at this sort of thing at his age was hard for him to come to terms with, it made him a little colder than a Griffindor should be.

Right at the moment he suggested to move to a safe spot far from the scuffle, a few things occurred at the same time, keeping Vincent from hearing Wyatt's reaction, provided he had been given the chance to react in the first place. Lights started flickering and dying out, as an ominous buzz filled the stadium. The mere sound was enough to get people in a panicky state of mind, some were fleeing the scene, frantically trying to steer clear from whatever bad was coming their way. Vincent turned around as he heard spells being cast. He wished he knew a spell or two, so he at least had the idea there was something he could do, but he didn't. Staring at the rapidly increasing chaos, he turned back to Wyatt to tell him to hurry up, but he stopped halfway through the turn as his eye caught a peculiar movement up in the air, that seemed out of place and worryingly threatening.
He jerked his head towards it, trying to catch a glimpse of whatever was up there, which was apparently responsible for causing the stir. When he saw it, for as far as he could in the dying light, he froze. The buzzing was caused by a large, gruesomely ugly, drop-shaped, insect-like creature with jagged wings that hovered above the pitch. It's body, measuring about twenty inches, had a purplish shade and two half-foot long proboscisdes, making their appearance even more ominous and, without a doubt, frightening. It didn't have eyes on Vincent - yet - and he was determined to keep it that way. He moved slow and extremely cautious as he scanned his surroundings and the now rather dark sky, and he took a sharp breath at what he saw. There was not just this one, there were way more. Though impossible to count them all, he estimated there were well over a dozen of these, for lack of a better description, bees from hell.
Despite his upcoming fright he still remained relaxed enough to determine details and differences between the individual creatures, probably a perk of his photographic interest. He noticed there were two main color variations, next to the purple ones there were also ones that had a brownish hue. Both types had yellow lower bodies and were roughly the same size. "Probably male and female." Vincent thought, slightly surprised by his level-headed reaction to this. However, the fact this was a real threat soon hit him, ending his stare and urging him into action. This party had turned into a nightmare in the blink of an eye and he was not going to stand around watching this develop into total chaos. He grabbed an empty bottle from the table nearby, so he at least had something to hit with.
He patted Wyatt on his back. "Come on, Wyatt. We must go." he said as he walked past the boy in the general direction of the exit. As he moved through the chaotic crowd Vincent heard someone, a girl, yell something about giving up flowers. He glanced in the direction and saw a flash of somewhat familiar raven black hair strongly contrasting with strikingly bright blue eyes. He had seen her earlier this evening, when she was capturing the beauty of the party with her camera. She was the photographer of the evening. He saw her walking cautiously away from one of the foul creatures, that seemed to have taken an unusual interest in the bowl with boutonnieres at the entrance, while repeatedly yelling, holding an illuminated wand high up in the air.
As Vincent watched the almost enchanting movement of the tip of her wand caused by her moving through the semi darkness, a thought suddenly struck him. A camera! She must still have her camera. That could - might - actually help getting them safely out of here. Without hesitating he moved towards the girl, as rapidly as he dared, given the circumstances, the bottle in his hand ready to strike when needed.
Vincent tapped the girl on the shoulder and started talking right away. This was no time for proper formal introduction. That would have to wait until later. "You're a photographer, right?" Vincent asked the black-haired girl, full well knowing he was stating the obvious. "Do you have a flash? If so, please make sure it's ready to fire. It probably won't hurt those... things, but in case one of them attacks us it might blind it just enough to create a window of opportunity for us to evade it and make it out safe." Having said that he looked back in the direction where he had come from to see if Wyatt was behind him. If he wasn't, Vincent might have go back to get him, provided he still stood there where they had left from. The ever present buzzing sound was a sure reminder of the fact they had to get out of here. Fast.

Alexis kept her eyes slightly upwards to the sky as she stepped into the direction of the entrance. She kept her expression calm and collected, even though her heart might have skipped a beat or two. The light illuminated from the tip of her wand was enough for her to observe her surroundings as she walks by. She heard loud noises of panic from different directions, she assumed they had encountered the vampyr mosps. Her assumption was confirmed as she began to hear more hexes being thrown around.
The raven haired girl walked closer the table area that used to be occupied by the guests, who now scattered everywhere. Something caught her attention, she saw two redheads, one just cast flipendo and another one was walking up to her. Alexis stopped, wondering if she should intervene or not. If she did, would she be much of a help. She didn’t recognize any of the girls, Alexis assumed they were older than her.
She took her time to observe the hybrid creature flying in the air.It was purple and its size was as big as it was described in the book she had read, but bigger than she had imagined. Both of the stringers are long and dangerous looking, the thought of pain they could inflict made the girl cringe inwardly. She wondered why the mosps had flew all this way, it live in the forbidden forest or somewhere wet. Why had the flower attracted the mosps so much?
She debated whether or not she should walk any closer, after all the mosp would attack someone in the close range. She didn’t to participate in an unnecessary fight with a dangerous creature but she decided to stepped closer anyway, she called out, “Are you alright?”
At the same time her eyes flickered towards the direction of the entrance where the brooms are kept, she wondered if she could make a run for it and grab a broom without tripping. She looked down to the hem of her gown that had hidden her heels, probably not. Even if she could grab a broom, she still don’t know where to find a professor at this time, she wasn’t even supposed to be out of her dormitory at this hour!
“Don’t step to close! The closer you get the more likely they’re going to attack you!”

Lizzie had been petrified. So petrified when the lights had gone out that she was there. Still. Not moving at all. She had always had a fear of dark rooms and areas. For a good reason to. She already had bad eye sight. What could be more terrifying then not knowing what was in front of your face.
She had since then stood up and walked around the tables leaving Cassie and her friends behind. It was unfortunate she had left her wand back at the castle due to her dress not having pockets. Why would her dress need pockets. It's not like she wanted pockets anyway. What was she going to carry? A book on how to destroy evil third years?
"Uh.. Why is it so dark?" She squinted her eyes and looked around for any sign of movement. She slowly picked up the nearest thing to her which was a glass cup but nether the less it was a good weapon. Lizzie tried to move to some other tables while maneuvering between fallen over chairs.
She stopped some kind of animal thing heading towards another table. Having the instinct she normally got (adventurous) Lizzie ran over with the cup in her hand. She noticed two other people sat at the table and immediately wanted to help them.
Lizzie had never heard of a mosp so at the mention of them by someone who was shouting made the Ravenclaw very worried. She lifted her hand up that held the cup and hesitated. What are you doing? Your going to throw it at something you have never ever heard of before?
She shook her head. She was doing it to defend some people. Not for her own health. She let go of the glass and threw it at the mosp. She widened her eyes and gasped realizing what she had just done. Possibly put herself and others in more danger than needed.
"H-hey! Over here you big bully." She shouted without noticing. Lizzie quickly ducked under a nearby table hopping that mosp would lose interest and go away while grabbing yet another glass cup and bringing it to her chest.

May smiled as she saw @Janet Jackson and waved at her. It was fun, seeing her good friend.
After that, she saw that there was a little quarrel with some students. Well, not little, but big. Wands were thrown out of the pockets, and spells were casted everywhere.
A few moments later, all the lights had gone out. May shrieked a little, scared. "Please don't be a monster" May thought, pleading to herself.
But May immediately remembered that she had a wand, obviously, other people were already lighting them up with a charm. "Lumos" May whispered. She saw Ivy there, but when she arrived, and couldn't even say hello, she saw a moth, like a mosquito, but bigger. May shrieked.
"I-Ivy what's that," May whispered, not knowing, as muggleborn, what it was. But it was a monster. A MONSTER!!!
May hid under a table, totally forgetting about her wand, and about the dress, and about the ball.
"What the heck are you two screaming about!!! ACT OR SOMETHING!!!" May screamed, as she looked at Ivy and another girl, @Anastasia Beckett, probably panicking as May was.
A spell May, a Spell!!!!" May thought. No! Nothing came to Mays mind, as she looked, her face scared of the giant moth, spider or whatever..

Mentioning: @Fred WoodsInteracting with and permission to godmod: @Ariana WalkerDespite Janet’s optimism Fred was right, something was about to go horribly wrong. Janet’s laughter at one of Fred’s jokes was quickly stifled as the sound of blood curdling screams were heard ringing through the air. The lights had mysteriously disappeared and everyone was left running and crashing into each other in complete darkness. Janet’s glass of pumpkin juice was suddenly knocked out of her hand by an unknown person running clumsily to escape. It fell to the ground with a tinkling smash and her dress was drenched with juice. These were the least of her problems however, in the madness she had lost sight of Fred and as she peered through the dense crowd she knew there was little chance of finding him. Janet felt a little panicking but she managed to stay calm enough to come up with a course of action to take. The sign at the start had said to drop off your brooms and fly away with a partner if something bad occurred. Janet knew of one person who had enough quidditch skills and loyalty to Janet with whom she could fly with. Ariana. It was almost as if destiny had heard her thoughts for Ariana was by her side in a matter of seconds. “Janet?!” She cried, “Jan finally!” Ariana mentioned something about finding her broom that Janet couldn’t fully hear because of the ruckus everyone was making. Janet trembled slightly and could feel Ariana shaking a bit beside her too as they squeezed through the crowd to get to the brooms. She knew that both Ariana and herself would definitely not find themselves shrieking like some of the other students. They were Gryffindors after all. They might be feeling a bit unnerved inside but they would do their best to keep it to themselves and not show their weakness. Janet found a gap in the crowd and sprinted to the broomstick pile first, handing Ariana a broom (she wasn’t arrogant enough to ignore the fact that she was the better flyer). Ariana swiftly mounted it pulling Janet on beside her. They rose to the air and Janet felt the wind slap against her face as if it was a real person. Ariana manoeuvred skill fully through the flying beasts that seemed to be attacking people and Janet admired her for being able to fly in that fancy dress. Janet was now trying to focus on obtaining her wand out of her backpack so she could shoot defensive spells at what she now saw to be monsters she recognised as vampyr mosps. Janet had actually listened to some of Fred’s advice and had packed a bag to carry her wand in just in case something bad happened (her dress didn’t have pockets and she had dropped her purse on the floor some time back). She took one hand off the broom and reached back to grab hold of her wand, but she was sent slipping backwards a bit at the unexpected motion of Ariana turning sharply. She was nearly certain that if Ariana hadn’t been there to grab her hand she would have fallen. Janet wasn’t sure if she was shivering due to cold or fright and shock. She gritted her teeth and said to herself pull yourself together Janet, your a Gryffindor after all she managed to grab her wand this time and wasted no time in shooting defensive spells, Ariana was occupied with steering the broom so Janet thought she may as well do something to help. “Periculum!” She yelled sending a burst of red sparks showering out of the end of her wand. Was that the right one? She couldn’t remember if it actually did damage so she tried another one. “Verticillium!” This time green sparks were sent out in a burst out of her wand, aimed at the eyes of one of the creatures in an attempt to blind it. Janet’s accuracy was good and she was pretty sure she saw a body drop to the ground but she couldn’t be sure in the dark. Janet could feel that Ariana had long since stopped shaking and it looked like both girls had conquered their fear. They were Gryffindors after all.Action: Flying through the air with Ariana and shooting defensive spells (Periculum and Verticillium).
