Ever since Maggie found out about the wizarding world, she has been trying her hardest to learn absolutely everything she can about it. She went to Hogsmede with her father on a day trip when she was eight, and immediately ran to the bookstore, pleading with her father 'Oh can we get this one please? Ooo, and this one!' It was the most she wanted to read in her entire life. When they returned from the magical town, (with so many books her father had to take two floo powder trips to get them all home.) Maggie got to reading them that very second, occasionally shouting out a question of 'what on earth is a Niffler? It's so cute Dad, look! What do they do?' before returning to her reading. She learned all the first year subjects before she was ten, practicing charms (though without actually doing them, since she didn't have a wand), watching her father make potions and staring at tea leaves to see if they spelled out her fate. She read countless magic history books, pouring over page after page of fascinating stories and daring adventures. She learned everything she could about transfiguration theory, along with Defense Against the Dark Arts spells and charms, making certain she had mastered everything. Normal school took a backseat to her new studying obsession, and every year on her birthday, all she would ask her father for was more books on magic (and maybe a dragon, but he always said no to that). She practiced wand movements with sticks in the garden, she was always muttering an incantation under her breath, making sure she had the pronunciation right, and every time she caught her father doing something magic, she would eagerly watch, taking notes in earnest to pour over later. She was completely enamored with magic. She knew when she got to Hogwarts she would be leagues behind the other kids, since they all grew up around magic and not only seeing on the weekends and having to hide it from their mothers. So she was determined to catch up to all the people she hadn't met yet, making certain she would never fall behind. All of her spellbooks were very well loved, having been read more times than anyone could count. She and her father would have long conversations about magic, where she asked questions and he answered them, a proud gleam in his eye. She would dream about all the spells she would cast, wondering over what her Patronus would look like (though of course she knew that casting a Patronus was a very difficult spell that she probably wouldn't master quite yet, but if didn't hurt to wonder.) She would write stories about wizards and goblins, her eyes sparkling as she thought about how what she was writing about could happen. It was marvelous.

Aurelia's origins had never been doubted. Her great- great-grandmother had moved to France to escape the devastating aftermath of the first World War. When she was younger she was fascinated by other magical creatures as well as half-breeds. While her friends in both countries were busy shopping or playing sport she was inside reading about magical beings. Even when she was only around 5 years old she already had had two "boyfriends." Her muggle father of course did not appreciate her natural beauty and often asked her to hide her face so her sister could take the main spotlight. Her sister detests her to this day. When people ask her how her sister is so beautiful she responds I don't know I think she was adopted and then runs off. Whilst other girls paid for expensive beauty treatments she was always outshone her peers effortlessly. When she was younger she hated this always being asked what her secret was and having to reply I was born this way. When she asked her father about it he just said it came from her maternal side. When she asked about her mother her punishments varied from no phone for a month to having to donate all her belongings to charity. But as she matured she began to adore it. The attention. The feeling of belonging and even just the compliments. Then she got the letter. Her mum had written to her asking to stay over the summer. At first her father was skeptic but after her stepmother reminded him that it would be much cheaper for a three person holiday then for a four. She used her time at school to get away from her 'loving' parents. Now at hogwarts heads to turn but she knows being only part-veela no one will ever truly be hypnotised by her. She thinks this because her evil stepmother always called her useless. She has an extremely strong veela bloodline with generations before her being 100% veela her mother being one of them. Unfortunately her mother was a victim of a horrible crime she was then taken away from her clan. Her mother is now a seaside café waitress, who survives on tips alone. She is still recovering mentally even after over a decade has passed since the incident. Her plan for the future is simple; fix her mother. Stop the pain that 'the man' had done. She hated the idea that this assailant can now walk around unfettered. She wanted to avenge her mother and was prepared to use her beauty to do so.

When I was living in Birmingham, I had lots of friends and I was really happy with everything. I played outside all the time with my best friend Rose, who lived next to me with her muggle mother and her wizard father. I didn't think much about what other people thought of me and you could say I was living the life. But when we moved to London all of that was just gone in an instant. I had to leave my old community preparatory school and start attending a new one. I had lost contact with most of my old friends and I found it very difficult to fit in with the other students at my new school. I still visited Rose sometimes but it was really awkward. It was like I had to start all over again. At my new community preparatory school I was really scared because there were a lot of people who I didn't know. I felt like I didn't exist, even though it was a small school tucked away in an alley in the suburbs of London. I started feeling insecure and lonely. It became even worse when some classmates started bullying me. Because of that, I started thinking I was weird and that something was wrong with who I was. I didn't know how to change myself, so I changed how I did things. I started to spend much more time on things so they would be perfect. I hoped that if I became perfect at everything, they would stop bullying me. The bullying never stopped and because of that I thought I had to become even more perfect so they would like me. I started to get mad or just throw full-on tantrums if I thought it wasn't perfect. I started to put pressure on almost every part of my life. I always wanted to do well. I often felt like if I got a low score on a test I would disappoint my parents. I still reread questions on tests or homework multiple times because I'm scared to do something wrong. Perfectionism also affects me negatively. Perfectionism makes me overthink my body and I get easily frustrated at myself when I make a mistake. When I played field hockey I often trained very hard so I wouldn't let my team down. I constantly compare myself to other people and overthink things my friends said to me. Trying to be perfect in everything has advantages, like trying really hard on tests, but it also has disadvantages like overthinking every small thing somebody has said to me and always doubting myself. Being a perfectionist makes me worry about letting people down and accidentally upsetting someone. My perfectionism also affects the way I learn new things. Whenever I learn a new spell, I spend a lot of time practicing the wand movement, the pronunciation and what the spell is used for. I often repeat spells until I'm confident enough that the spell won't backfire or that I won't fail. Even though it can make me stress over the smallest mistakes, it also means that I'm less likely to fail a spell. But being a perfectionist also made me who I am today and I'm really proud of that.

- Please use the entire form provided.
- As a pureblood, normally children from wizarding families are homeschooled or have tutors prior to Hogwarts. It is unclear whether you’re implying she went to a muggle or magical school. We do have some lore on other options for pre-Hogwarts wizarding schooling here if you’re interested. If you want more of a muggle background, you can edit your index registration application and ask for your blood status to be changed to half-blood or muggleborn.
- Please add a sentence or two about Lize’s efforts more specifically reducing her chance of failure and, if this is after she comes to Hogwarts, reducing the chances that her spells backfire, just so that it lines up better with the ability details here.

“What a charming young man!” It was a compliment Elmarie and Jacobus received often in their years of raising Anthonie, and they did not cease as he transitioned from childhood into teen hood. In fact, he was fairly certain there was more talk of his charisma.
This realisation was not born out of narcissistic tendencies but an innate acknowledgement. He needed to know what was working and what was not and apparently, this was not just working, this was working very well.
Anthonie’s charm had never been forced into him. It came more from a combination of upbringing and natural character. It just worked, as if it was meant to be.
Since a young age, he had been thrown into the lions den of pureblood gatherings. Yet for the boy who loved to socialise and network, even at a tender eleven and twelve, it was more of a paradise. Anthonie manoeuvred his way through the song and dance of conversation with particular ease. He had learnt form an amalgamation of experience, observation, and psychological understanding when to crack the right joke, when to employ just the correct amount of wit, when to remain painfully serious, and when to keep quiet, with no more than a passing laugh, a shake of the head, or a purse of the lips.
To him, mastering this charisma was like skiing. It came as easily to him as it was to breathe the crisp Alpine air. As soon as he had stepped into his boards, as soon as he had been left alone at whatever event, it was his territory to shine, and he was free from the bounds of his household.
Most commonly, onlookers would find a grin crossing Anthonie’s face. That grin, more often than not, was an utterly and completely genuine one.
Throughout the years this charm served him many purposes. From the more generic occurrences of wooing girls — and to some extent of exploration, boys, to the more interesting endeavours of persuading anyone from teachers into giving him a better grade to classmates into committing dares at his side. As he grew, he put them to more practical use into business. After all, persuasion was essential to the lawyer career he sought to pursue at that time. And in that persuasion, he certainly used his charm to his advantage.
And if you still weren’t yet convinced? Meeting him would be enough of an answer.

How would you describe a boy who expected no grade lower than full marks, who ended every practice with no thoughts other than victory, who moved through life with such a stride where everything was deliberate and intentional?
You could have called Anthonie Engelbrecht a perfectionist.
While he would admit it was one of his vices, the temptation to make everything perfect was just too strong. There was something satisfying in receiving a perfect grade, completing a perfect flight, navigating through the world in such a perfect manner that heads turned and people whispered. Shining light. Heavenly angel. Golden child.
The Engelbrecht family were firm believers in the fact that without mistakes, growth was impossible. Being a perfectionist, to Anthonie, did not mean he did make such mistakes, but that all of them were corrected with efficiency and accuracy. It was ensured that he learnt from them.
Elmarie and Jacobus’ expectations had never been the same as Anthonie’s expectations for himself. They were much looser; they were not the strict parents observed in many other pureblood families. They did not care if he achieved 100%s every test, did not care if he were the top of his team — as long as he tried, he was doing them proud. It was under these conditions that he had space to flourish, and with that, naturally arrived perfection.
They encouraged him to solve whatever problems arose. But they also encouraged him to look at problems from a different angle and define his own perfectionism, rather than follow what was perceived as conventionally perfect by society.
“I think your essay was written with a lot of thought,” his mother had commented.
Young Anthonie, then only thirteen or fourteen, collapsed on the sofa, clutching his end of year exam. Indeed, he had poured a lot of thought into the essay, but it was not thoughts the teacher appreciated. While he had done as he was asked of, citing his credible sources and using logical, critical arguments, the precocious work that attempted to transcend the boundaries of what school provided was eventually given a barely passing grade. The only compliment that his professor had given was ‘beautiful Swahili — for an acquired language’.
It was ridiculous.
As if sensing his thoughts, she gestured at the test. “These have different goals than what you are trying to achieve. They are examining you, not making you grow.
“Anthonie,” his mother had said, standing from her perch on the armchair to kneel by his side. “If you always try to achieve the perfect standard set by others, you will never please everyone. Perfection comes from within. It is inhuman to be perfect, indeed, but you can try your best. The difference between success and failure is to whose standards of perfection you are trying to live up to.”

There were many aspects his trait of keen eye could have been attributed to, the most obvious one being Quidditch.
The Snitch was a fickle little thing, ran entirely on its own whims. Barely visible as it darted through the sky, it was the speck of gold everyone ached to see. It was that little speck of gold that would determine whether a game was won or lost. It was his duty to search for it, and more often than not, after intense training, he was victorious in his seeking. With perfect vision, he had trained his gaze on small, moving objects, or attempted to find them amongst crowded places.
During Anthonie’s preteen and as he grew into a handsomely healthy adolescent, under the surveillance of his father’s hunting permit, the child began to explore hunting on the family farm. Bow hunting was introduced to him, and soon magical methods with spells like jacular. To accurately shoot down a moving target at a safe distance, good eyesight was certainly a requirement. Sometimes delving into other shooting based sports as well, his hand eye coordination was no doubt exemplary.
Yet beyond the teachings of the Quidditch pitch and of the hunting lodge were instincts his family had honed into him since his youth. Anthonie had grew up being observant. He knew how to scan a room without seeming anxious, knew how to infer a cooperator’s status and wealth by their clothes, knew how to notice the most inconspicuous of details that would have gone ignored by any other eye. Often, it was these small things that landed or broke a deal. The same went for friendships, romances, and any other relationship he might try to indulge in.
It started with pleasantries. Compliments often came across as flattery, yet if compliments must be given, always focus on someone no one else would. Something unexpected. Something that would make a smile cross their face. It then went into matters of behaviour — dissecting their posture, how they sat or stood, and how they carried themselves, leaning into their preferred methods of communication, creating a foil yet also a support. It was in accommodating these little details that would make someone feel welcome, at ease, and treated with the deserved respect.
There was a delicate balance between a sharpened eye and a raking one. He seemed to have found it.
In any case, since childhood, he had enjoyed games of I spy. /reducio]

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player wants it):
ReducioJosh always had a deep interest in History since he started taking the subject in primary school before he started attending Hogwarts. To him, history wasn't just about knowing what happened in the past, it was about understanding that history serves as a biography of civilisation, and how every modern concept is linked to it's theoretical philosophy. He also didn't view it as something he was being forced to learn in school. Before he received his gaming console on his 10th birthday, he would occupy himself regularly by reading history books his mother brought home for him from school for entertainment. He had read every single history book appropriate for his year, that his mother even started bringing books for advanced years for him to read. He had read so many history books in fact, that he was achieving perfect grades in the subject and knew more historical facts and concepts than most of the older students in his school. History was just easy for him to understand, and it came naturally to him compared to the other school subjects he was learning about. Magical history was no exception. When he found out that he was a wizard, he was eager to learn everything about magic, but he specifically wanted to know everything there was to know about the events that occurred within the magical world in the past. When he went to Diagon Alley to purchase his school supplies, Josh even begged his parents to buy him a copy of "Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century", even though it was not on his textbook list. After he purchased his books, he naturally began reading them the second he was in his bedroom. He read the first few chapters of his copies of A History of Magic, Hogwarts: A History, and Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century before September 1st, and was even willing to sacrifice time he could have been using to play on his gaming console so that he could read as far ahead as he possibly could, before he would attend Hogwarts in less than a month. So it was no surprise that when he started attending Hogwarts, he was already familiar with the work they were covering in History of Magic, having clear foundational understanding of the early topics they were learning and discussing in class. Even his family and friends took notice of his interest in History, and his parents had once told him that perhaps he should consider becoming a historian when he grew up.
STATUS: Pending, Santiago, 1st June.
Reasons for pending:
- While Josh's strong interest in history is well established, reading three substantial history texts twice within a month and arriving at Hogwarts having memorized and summarized them feels beyond what would typically be expected, even for a gifted child. Scale it back a bit to be more realistic for his age.

Millie often being bullied by kiddos who are jealous of her height. She never like the idea for being asked with, “What’s your parents gave you to ate to became this tall?” Because of that, Millie became insecure and mostly distanced herself from children her age, and another kids who doesn’t know her but still talked bad about her. She only talked and interacts with people who approaches her first. And with that, she learnt to make a minimum and low profile, avoid somewhere she knew will be the favorite spot to gathered, trying not to be caught by anyone’s attention, hoping her presence will be as thin as an air.

Millie herself realised this too, so she endured it and just go away from them, and continued to avoid them for a day, even though it’s hard because they’ll surely met again at school.
However, Millie didn’t give up. She even started to watched any cartoons with ninja characters in there so she can learn from them. Actually, it really so hard and need more time to be sneaky until Millie reach the kitchen. But surely, she’s almost there. When her mother called out for the second time, and Millie already behind her back, she beamed and tapped her mother’s shoulder with a little bit force of excitement, making her mother jump in surprise, not realising how long her daughter had already behind her back.
With that success, Millie then tried it at school, still to avoid her bully. Luckily this worked with them too. And slowly, she getting used with her ninja-style sneaky way, even until when the owl came to her house and she moved to school at Hogwarts.

Emiline always liked the stars. Her first love for them was when she went camping and she saw the sky without all the light pollution from London. She spent hours gazing up at the night sky while she was suppose to be sleeping. As she enjoyed the stars so much from such younger age she begged her mother for her Astronomy book like Pale Blue Dot by Carl Saganand a telescope. Once she had her first sign of magic, she started to try to do some of the spells in the textbook. From that book she put an interest into zodiac signs. Emiline became a fact file of stars from then on and would often spout information about all the personality types of those zodiac signs. From then onwards, she would spend hours a day reading that textbook and trying to do the spells, all locked up in her laser focused. However she could never quiet get the spell to work at home. But once she got into Hogwarts she found she could always do the spells first try and she always got an Outstanding for any homework she did. Whenever she can see the dark open sky, she feels a sense of comfort and warmth. Ask her anything about astronomy and she could probably answer.
She'd look up at the sky full of stars and just feel calmer, like she belonged. It was a feeling she couldn't describe, its just something in her gut which told her 'wow, this is so pretty'. The way the stars sparkles, the way the darkness seemed to wrap around her eyes to make the sky seem endless and so much closer. It was so peaceful. It made her feel like she was the only person in the entire world. But it also made her feel incredibly small and insignificant. Like all her worrys were silly and every imperfection she spent hours infront of a mirror hiding or smoothing out, didn't matter. Stars were dying, combusting in on themselves. Only to become a vast black hole. But to us on Earth, millions of light tears away to this one certain star, it would still look alive, slowly dying, flickering and crying out for help while we watch in awe. In awe of its beauty, in awe of its sparkle. Trying to make a wish upon it's dying star. Trying to make ourselves feel better about our busy busy lives. With only the potential chance of something magical going to happen. Making a wish upon a dying star. That's a song maybe? Probably. Emilie loved the stars, they were beautifully sad.

Henry has always had a habit of being light on his feet. Ever since he was old enough to walk with any sort of confidence, his dad would take him to the park for rugby skirmishes. While he enjoyed the game, he never developed his father's more aggressive playstyle, preferring to be much more defensive and dance out of the way rather than charge in headfirst.
As he grew older, he found that this was a skill that could help him in more than just the realm of sports. Being in nature is his happy place, seeing the wildlife that resides in said nature especially so, and he used his careful footwork to ensure he wouldn't step on any fallen branches helped him avoid spooking any animals nearby or crushing any flowers underfoot in his explorations. It also came in handy while trying to be helpful for his parents in their attempts to fix up their new house, judging by the fact that having an easily distracted child assist in said endeavors inevitably leads to more than a bit of unintended chaos, especially in a muggle household. More than once he found himself having to dodge out of the way of a toppling paint roller or piece of lumber or toolbox; while he didn't always watch where he was going, he always managed to get out of the way to avoid getting hurt by the consequences of his actions, much to his parents' relief.
This tendency further translated into his imagination: with several of the characters he made up for roleplaying or stories being lovable rogues who preferred to use their wits and slip past danger, rather than muscle their way through it. The tendency for him to duck or dodge at just the right moment even earned him a nickname: Twinkle Toes (you can blame his love for Avatar the Last Air Bender for that particular nickname), which his dad corrupted into Twinkle Tobes, because Alan Holbrook has never met a dad joke he didn't like.
So perhaps it's no surprise that when it came time for his Weighing of the Wands Ceremony, he found himself chosen by a wand with a Horned Serpent Horn core - a core which possesses a great number of qualities that make it a fine match for the boy. However, among these is its tendency to produce a musical note for its wielder to alert them to impending danger so they're able to react to it.

Lillian has always liked learning about history whether in school or out. Her favorite books have always been classics and most classics are historical. One of her hobbies is learning about holidays in other countries. That has to do with history learning too. She enjoyed learning history in her muggle school as well. All the people, places, and dates were very interesting to her. She enjoyed memorizing them for tests and homework, or just out of her own will. Her teachers all noticed that history was her best subject, whether it was country or world history. All of her other subjects she is average or slightly above average compared to her other classmates. But, in history she was usually in the top five or ten in her class. When she realized that she was a witch, she was a little sad that she could no longer learn about history. But she was in for a surprise. Wizards teach their children about history too! Lillian had a whole new world of history to learn! She was thrilled. More people, more places, and more dates to memorize! During her first year, that was a little too much for her to handle, so she wasn't too good in it. She seemed to know nothing, being raised as a muggle. All of her classes she felt that way in. All the Pure-bloods and living-as-wizard Half-bloods knew more than her. She felt dumb in all her classes, but especially her favorite one! But, she was determined to learn. She sometimes borrowed non-required books from the library. She paid extra-attention in class. She was not trying to be competitive, she just was interested, and didn't want the feeling of being dumb hanging over her. She studied extra hard in history, because she liked that one the best, and really didn't want to be dumb in it. But, studying caught up with her. Especially toward the end of her first year, and in the beginning of her second year. Lillian realized that she now knew the answers the teacher was asking, even before the Pure-bloods and living-as-wizard Half-bloods! She was at the front of the class again! But even more so in History of Magic. Lillian was very happy that she was excelling at her favorite subject again. She promised herself that she would keep giving History of Magic a little extra study time, because it was no fun to feel stupid and not know what was being taught in her favorite class.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Y1 — evasive maneuvers
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio“ Fingers stilled on the polished wood of the railing, Malaika was immobile, waiting for the familiar scream of surprise followed by her name shouted throughout the house while she would run away, laughing her heart out. Seven years old and already buzzing with life, the dragonfly would be quickly underestimated by surrounding adults — a fatal mistake. Her angel features and soft appearance clashes with the mischievous glimmer always found in her eyes, promises of nearby trouble. She had the intimate conviction life was not meant to be dull, and had thus taken in her shoulders the solemn duty of bringing as much colour as she could to those around her. One of her favourite conducts was pranks. Harmless most of the time, often resulting in her being disciplined — they had the particular aspect of making her sister, Neera, laugh to tears, which in turn softened her parent’s sour expression.
With years of practice naturally arrived a certain stealth, an agility in slipping out of the rooms seconds before getting caught — evasive maneuvers which greatly aided her in avoiding countless punitions. Malaika was as fast as a rapid, rivers with high current twisting and turning around stones, pulling down whatever lied in it with them ; as agile as a hummingbird, wings fluttering rapidly to remain in a steady position, absorbing the flowers nectar ; as stealthy as ocelots looming over imposing trees, ready to pounce.
In the midst of her first year, Malaika had managed to acquire a large supply of dungbombs, which she kept hidden in a carved out hole of the highest floors. Her objective was to target a couple of students which had had the excellent idea to pick on one of her closest friends a week ago, not knowing the mischievous dragonfly was one of their circle. Malaika was greatly appreciated by her peers, and most knew to keep out of her and her loved one's way — being the child of potioneers implied knowing the most devilish ways to make someone pay. These older morons were supposed to barge out of the men's restroom by any second, covered in pustules. A dungbomb in both hands, she patiently waited for the door to creak open. In a split second the half a hundred nauseating objects rolled towards the opening door, emitting such a disgusting scent Malaika had to hold herself from puking. That was when a terrifying voice echoed throughout the walls — the director, standing in the middle of the cloud of smoke. All blood rushed out of her system, and she bailed as fast as she could. Sadly he had seen her face, and in detention she was promptly put.
This incident pushed her to use her natural evasion towards more lucrative areas, such as sports, where nothing appeared to be able to touch her. ”

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Y2 — fearless
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio“ To say Malaika felt trapped in her own home would be a lie, as she truly adored being around her parents, surrounded by scents of freshly cut herbs and various concoctions floating in the air, warm bread in the oven and the house's cat purring under a nearby window. However at times a heavy atmosphere lingered appeared to settle over the house, a storm cloud never bursting yet looming. It was suffocating. A restlessness was drilled into her bones, an urge to keep moving at all times, running, laughing and exploring the outside world — or rather, the forests and natural reserves found around their town.
The tiny dragonfly spent hours on end wandering, getting lost and finding her way back. Indeed, Malaika was fearless. For quite a lot of people, this world would imply either having no fear, it was not her case. Malaika was frightened of quite a lot of things — falling of the cliff she was hiking, being bit by the spider crawling on a wall of her room, having no friends, hurting someone... But these fears were innately human, and being terrified by them was in no way living.
Before Neera's death, Malaika was more hesitant to be reckless, to explore and climb and fall, and get back up again. She was turbulent and cocky, sure, often wandered in the wild, encouraged by her baby sister, but she would yelp at any noise and flee at any given chance. Her firefly, her twin sister was the braver one of the two, wandering for hours on end, and endorsing her sister to do the same. She refused, frightened of an accident. Neera went alone to play in their garden, and Malaika regretted that ‘no’ for the rest of her life. After her death, after her first instance of magic, Malaika gained a deeper understanding of the beauty and fragility of life, how brutally it could stop and how remorseful she would be in the afterlife if she remained on the benches forever. She swore to never let her fear paralyze her again, and to live life to its fullest — for Neera.
Thus her fears were faced, again and again until she coursed through forests with glee, made friends with spiders and insects, bathed in the adrenaline rush from risky situations, and would never let her worries and fear get in the way of living, laughing and loving as hard as she could. ”

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Y3 — charmer
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio“ Had Malaika been a muggle without magical heritage, in an American high school, the brown haired girl would have undoubtedly taken the role of a jock. Sporty, engaged as a beater in her school's quidditch team and in general practicing a plethora of additional activities, she was widely appreciated by her peers, as well as by the surrounding staff, despite causing all kinds of troubles. Upon being introduced to skating, she had in fact wished to move from one point to another solely on this unique machine, but it got confiscated before she even passed the gates.
In addition to her active criteria, Malaika also checked the box of a charmer — boys and girls, she knew her way around hearts as well as she knew her way around bludgers. Flirty by nature, it remained from her point of view strictly bound by the limits of cordiality and friendship, a position others had trouble understanding. The teenager thus found herself often confused when facing declarations, either not believing them or laughing them off. It gave her a newly found confidence, though, and this added to her natural charisma only fueled her charm.
If asked, those who turned their head as she walked by would be incapable of defining what about her was so captivating. Sure, she was beautiful — sharp features, heart shaped lips, deep brown siren eyes that lingered on onyx, healthy curls often braided cascading down her shoulders — but there was more to her magnetic aura than mere looks, something in her that pulled you in. Her entire attitude — laughing loudly, a cocky demeanour, teasing, her assurance in life, her generosity and passion — appeared to fascinate others, wanting to linger around her sphere, hoping to be able to drink it in.
Her superpower went unnoticed by most, including her, as it was something so innate to her character it was simply a part of her. She had noticed odd instances, though, moments where a professor would be more lenient towards her, distracting the opposing team during a match, or even simply drawing new people in without needing to seek them out. She loved it. It allowed her to meet more people, to discuss with new acquaintances and to connect with the world on a different level.
In a sense, what was most charming about Malaika was the specific way she reeked of life, noise and chaos, and how she embodied the very concept of living life to its fullest. ”

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Y5 — nonverbal magic
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio“ One day, in the midst of her fifth year, under the bright sun of June, Malaika fell in love. It was a brutal feeling, one that was not yet reciprocated, and yet it was plain as day — Akinyi occupied her every thought. From midnight to noon, and around the globe we go, the beater was scheming and plotting for ways to make her future wife notice her. All in vain, as Akinyi appeared so deeply focused in her studies the world around had begun to fade.
That was when Malaika had a genius idea, something that will definitely win not only her attention, but her heart — she was going to impress her.
It took days. Hours on end, spent reading, and reading, and reading, sunken at the bottom of a large armchair, a pile of book burying her into the comfortable material, pages sticking to the sweat of her forehead as she succumbed into a very deep slumber, to the point of snoring. Yet she never gave up. After the theory was sufficiently engrained in her mind, she attempted willing a pen to move towards her.
Inconsiderate object, for it categorically refuse to move even by an inch, remaining stubbornly stuck into place. At first casting, then shouting the incantation in her head, Mal definitely looked like an insane person from an external point of view, drilling an iron gaze into this poor pen until finally it moved — sent straight into the head of a nearby student.
Apologizing profusely, Malaika immediately went to seek her crush out, determined to amaze her by her talent. She found her, without much surprise, deeply diving into large tomes that would have frightened anyone with an inch of common sense — not that Malaika thought it was not attractive. Cracking her fingers together, a confident smile etched on her lips, she prepared herself to be soon adored and worshiped.
It, in fact, did not work. At first Malaika attempted to float one of he library's tome right in front of her, which provoked absolutely zero reaction. Then she moved one of her skills slightly to the left, yet again without acknowledgement. Frustrated, she kicked one of the bookshelf at its base, which. sent. the entire structure collapsing on Akinyi. Luckily Mal had froze it before it could hurt her, but as soon as her future wife's doe eyes began searching for the culprit with a spark of murder, Malaika fled the scene without waiting to be discovered. A run she later regretted, for it would be the only time of her school years Aki had gotten close to know her name.
Oh well! Third time's the charm. ”

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Y6 — wandless magic
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio“ When your interest resides in travelling, sports and land labour — the study of plants and the earth required dirty hands —, having the constraint of needing to carry around a wand and wave it in silly movements to produce a spell was not only a major bummer, but a liability as well. Not that Malaika was yearning to cast spells at her opponents, it would be, after all, highly illegal, but she was by nature someone active with her hands, in every field she deeply cared for. Thus her wand had regularly been forgotten on various locations such as the stadium, the gym, some forests, other cities and was regularly planted into soil like a plant or used as a tutor for young plantations.
To say Malaika disliked her wand would be wrong, but there was not a great bond between the two of them, and it was why she immediately seeked other solutions. One of them, that wasn't burning the stick to the ground, was found in the very specialty of their school — wandless magic. On paper it sounded absolutely marvellous, but when Malaika decided to quit buzzing around the lands and actually open textbooks, the dream was torn to pieces around her.
There was so much theory and hypothesis she gained a headache even before entering the class, and was repeatedly discouraged by the professor, on the verge of giving up. Each time that occurred, a trip to the greenhouses refreshed her memory as to the objective of such purgatory, and she tried twice as hard.
Eventually, after trying various techniques, her professor decided to try simply throwing her on terrain and asked her to succeed by any mean available. Malaika obeyed, at first trying to replicated the complicated movement he had taught her, but he denied it, asking her to do it the way she would want to learn it. Hesitant, Malaika concentrated, imagining the flows of magic coursing their way through the world around her. She stilled gently plunging her hand in one of the rivers, and willed her spell to life.
And she succeeded. It was wobbly, sure, but suddenly everything clicked into place, and a few months later, after countless hours of practice, she was able to tend to her greenhouses humming, wand safely kept in a box at home, and her hands and heart free from constraints. It was truly life-changing, and though she at times returned to her stick, the great majority of the rest of her life would be spent wandless. ”
