✽It was getting dark just after dinner. Avery had made an announcement just days before the event. She had actually been planning for a while as she knew that all the professors were working hard and scrambling to have everything done and ready as the end of the year was approaching swiftly. That was why Avery had chosen that night to bless her Astronomy professor, Professor McCoire.
She wanted him to know that he was appreciated by having many of the Astronomy interns arriving and aiding in the cleaning and restoration of the instruments used for Astronomy class. She also was curious to get to know her fellow interns as she had never met most of them before. Clearly they showed a common interest, so why not hang out together?
Avery was the first to arrive. Stretching after the long flight, she was amazed to see the beautiful skyline before her. It was a gorgeous night without a cloud in sight. Perfect for stargazing and working under the stars in the Astronomy classroom. She just hoped Professor McCoire was grateful for their work and would appreciate the help. She didn't want to make things any harder for him.
Now it was only time to wait for her fellow interns to show their faces. That thought alone excited her as she began to scope out what needed to be done.

Damien was someone who adored astronomy with all of his heart, so when he he heard about the interns getting together and help clean the equipment in the astronomy tower he felt obliged to help, not just as an intern or someone who liked astronomy tower but someone who had used to the tower the most. Damien had his birthday party up there for Rowena sake so it only made sense that he would help clean the place that helped him out many times. As he made his way into the astronomy tower and up those familiar stairs which he had trailed many times before finally reaching the top of the tower. He slowly opened the door expecting to see a lot more people already here before him but it had turned out he was the second person here. Huh he guessed he was early normally he would at least be the fifth or sixth person here but being earlier has its perks. It meant he wouldn’t be faced with such a large crowd of people just yet so it gave him a moment to get himself together. He noticed a random girl who seemed to be scoping out things that she needed to do which cued to Damien that she must also be a intern, he made his way towards her before speaking. “Uh..pardon me you’re an intern as well right ? He asked in a soft tone before holding his hand out for her to shake. “I’m Damien Dragonclaw, it’s a pleasure to meet you i can’t wait to help clean and show our appreciation to Professor McCorie!” He smiled as he spoke about the professor while introducing himself, he was one of Damien’s most favorite professor. |

The second I heard there was a call for all the Astronomy Interns to come up and clean the class equipment, I knew I had to go. Not because I was an intern myself, but because I loved to spend some time under the light of the night sky.
I didn't actually mind the time or how cold it could be. For some reason, I enjoyed more the night walks more than the day ones. It was weird, I know, but that's what I liked.
When I made it to the Astronomy tower, it wasn't much of a surprise to notice that, actually, I didn't meet anyone in there. Of course, I recognized one or two people from the hallways or the classes, maybe even one or two from the common room. But I didn't actually know anyone.
So I did what I was best at: I stayed quiet, silently bowing my head, doing a quick and small recap of everything I could do tonight to help. I decided to stay closer to the balcony, just to see the stars. They were quite... Pretty tonight. Almost unconsciously, I began humming softly a familiar tune for me, giving myself a moment to just stare at the sky.Stamina: 6 | Evasion: 6 | Strength: 4 | Wisdom: 7 | Arc Power: 6 | Accuracy: 6

Karina, thinking she had too many sweets at dinner, was now having a complete sugar rush. Not only was she excited enough about this upcoming event, but now she had to deal with a whole lot of energy from the cookies, cakes, chocolate, etc. I can control myself, she thought, after all, she wasn't a toddler. Maybe all of this extra energy was coming from how excited she was about this meeting? Either way, Karina was reaching the final few flights of stairs almost reaching the top. She thought she would walk all of the way up the tower to ease some of the excitement and get a little tired out. It worked.... a little....
"One final step. Aha! Made it." She looked around, catching her breath. She thought she'd be one of the last to arrive because she decided to walk, but there weren't that many students. She eyed each of them, hoping that they weren't disturbed by her huffing-and-puffing as she was waddling up the steps.
Karina did notice a huddled group of students. She didn't want to 'invite' herself into the conversation, so she casually waited, looking at the stars, until one of them would notice her. She didn't seem to recognize any of the students.... except was it? It was! She saw Avery Gray standing talking to the students. Well, she was the one who organized this thing, so it would make sense to see her here.
She hesitated before finally deciding to introduce herself to the other two. "Hi", she said slowly as she walked up. "I'm Karina Eaglewood."

✽Avery was surprised when people began to show up. She had not expected so many of the interns to come in. Had she expected maybe one or two? Honestly, yeah. She had not expected the amount that had already come and the amount that was still likely to come. It was crazy, honestly. She was glad to see that so many of her fellow interns were interested in helping out Professor McCoire.
"Thank you all for coming. If you don't already know, I'm Avery. Avery Gray. I organized this event tonight so we could lend a hand to our Astronomy professor, Professor McCoire. Tonight I was thinking that we could split into groups and cover more ground cleaning the classroom and all the tools we use for Astronomy class. If that's alright with you guys feel free to find a partner and get started." Avery smiled and turned towards her work of cleaning one of the many telescopes that lay around waiting to be cleaned.
Avery listened as chatter went on around her and she nodded kindly when a guy she know knew as Damien asked if she was an intern as well. Avery had loved being a part of the internship since she was a young first year and she couldn't wait to join the other internships once she finally became a third year. Care of Magical Creatures and working in the Hospital Wing both sounded interesting and rewarding at the same time. Though she knew she could work in the Hospital Wing at that time, she had chosen to wait until she actually had the spells to be helpful there.

♡♡♡♡♡♡Quinn cursed as she looked at her clock.
"I knew I should have set an alarm!" She muttered under her breath as she grabbed a jacket and her wand. She was unsure of what she would need for this astronomy thing. Quinn took the steps two at a time and almost tripped on her untied shoelace when one of the stairs vanished. I'm not usually this clumsy, I guess it's the end of the year jitters-if thats a thing. Quinn thought. She was actually not too excited for the end of the year- at least not as much as usual. She was going to miss Hogwarts and all of it's fun. She was on the other hand excited to see her boyfriend and parents and older sister again. As Quinn finally made up she caught the end of something one of the other interns was saying. The girl's name was Avery-Quinn recognized her from the opposing team of quidditch matches. Avery mentioned something about finding a partner and cleaning tools. Quinn stood still for a moment before going up to the girl.
"Hey-Avery is it? I lost track of time and got here a little late. What are we doing again?" Quinn paused and looked around for a second, seeing some fellow Ravenclaws and-was that Damien? Wow, I forgot he loved astronomy, I guess I don't talk to him enough during quidditch practice. Quinn thought. Realizing she hadn't yet introduced herself Quinn stuck out her hand.
"I'm Quinn." She stated.

Damien wasn’t expecting so many surprises when he showed up to this astronomy intern’s party yet here he was seeing people he had met before and never realized they were an interns for astronomy. It made him realize he truly needed to speak to more people and branch out a bit more. He smiled at Avery before he slowly turned around and noticed Ophelia. She was a Gryffindor girl who he had met whenever he was hunting for Pygmy Puff fluff one day around the castle. “Oh! Ophelia I never knew you were an intern too! Wow I should really ask Professor McCorie more questions about other interns as much times as I spend up here ha ha!” He let out a little laugh as he just smiled as he found it quite funny how he spent so much time here and never seen anyone else up here was crazy to him. He felt another presence near him so he slowly turned his head to notice a Slytherin girl waking up to them. He gave her a little friendly smile and wave as she introduced herself as Karina Eaglewood. Damien couldn’t lie and say her name seemed more fitting for a Ravenclaw but he truly just found it funny ha ha. “Lovely to meet you Karina, Damien Drgaonclaw at you’re service!” He just smiled brightly at her before he noticed another familiar figure behind her presence. It was none other than his fellow Ravenclaw Quinn Brooks, he was really starting to realize how many ravens seemed to like astronomy like him. He gave her a wave as it felt impolite not too. |
