Step by step, Alex moved to the currently abandoned toy, that was also Hana's direction. She could take a better look at it if she was closer to the to-AUCH! Suddently, a metal piece quickly slashed her knee. It was followed by a fall, sinking her into the ground and making the leg hot and feeling like bubbling. The pain first seemed slight, and she managed to get up[, but it fastly became stronger and she was unable to put weight on the damaged leg.

"Oh, Alex, right? Are you alright, feel free to just hold onto my shoulder to stand still." It was such a kind offer, but she had to refuse, as Hana also got damaged and she didn't wanted the situations to get worse."Yeah, that's right, Alex here! Um yeah, it was nothing- why am I lying? Yeah i've got kinda injured, but... Yeah. I don't want you to get worse."She didn't Said this in the highest voice tone, but it was audible. Something that was much audible was the requests that Hana made her, to find all the metal pieces and gather them together. A "yep" was enought.

She observed that the initial metal pieces could be fitted together and maybe the ones that just hit them may fit too.

Seeking entirely off course, Hana appeared to be in some peculiar trance, a trance which had left her with metal scarring her delicate skin. The brave lioness swiftly moved to stop the bleeding, though, it had been unfortunate in her case — the embroidered handkerchief soon soiled, her gash would be rather painful, the pressure would not suffice the young lioness and perhaps the pair should aim to seek an answer rather than converse absentmindedly into the open air, as though a ghoul occupied the room just ad they also did.

Alex had suffered a different form of brute, her knees harshly connecting with a rouge metal piece that moved as though it had a mind of it's own. The kindness of Hana had helped the latter lion regain some composure as she rose once more, though it would be to no avail, the force of the fall had resulted in a deep cut, curtsey of cracked stone which had not been cared for in a while.

The flickering candlelight which once should have unified the minds of the cubs, grew harsher, omitting an eerie shadow, morphing into a large figure which would lead the two to believe another had joined them. The intensity of the flame would grow large enough until it stopped in it's entitreity. Though a beam of light shining in it's place, it had reflected off the metal pieces and in it's stead, a small flame appeared to emerged off one of the curtains, where another candlelight had been placed. Orange hues and bright rays sprouting in different directions, creating a twisted illusion as time continued to pass.

Should the two not move with urgency, their minds would only continue to deceive them.

It had become glaringly obvious that she'd taken a wrong turn somewhere. Nearing the end of her first year, the little lioness thought for certain that she would've been able to navigate the castle blindfolded, but there were still so many turns that disoriented her and corridors that looked just like others. This one didn't take her back to the staircase but to...a dark room.

She could hear talking, quickly coming to the conclusion that she was interrupting...er...something.

What were they even doing in here?

Poppy remained by the door at first, not sure this was something she wanted to be involved with. She recognised the voices. She drifted inside. They weren't, particularly. The familiarity came from their shared spaces. They were fellow lions, and Persephone had learned that sometimes she...really didn't want to know what they were up to. This qualified as one of those times with shadows dancing on the walls and flickering flames.

Whatever it was, it must have been another great adventure she'd surely hear about later, but for now – what was that?

Before she could consider the action, her wand was already out and pointing to what she felt sure was a monster that had gotten into the castle. In a rational (or better lit) space, Poppy may have slowed to consider her conclusion, but it was fight or flight for the little girl who'd already been told about several strange and perilous things that had happened at Hogwarts. Even DADA had made it clear just how unwise it was to let one's guard down.

"Verdimillious!' the girl hurried to utter. Whatever it was may have been too big for any Flipendo she could cast, but...but she thought that if she could suddenly blind it, she may have a chance to run. It was unfortunate; it may have been too bright and staggering for the girls who may already have had tricks being played on them by the room. It was all too easy for them to end up scrambling into each other if they were careful.

Hana, still pressing the soaked handkerchief to her wound, kneeled on the floor and trying to put all the metal fragments Alex and herself found together, trying to form a picture or whatever that can be formed into a clue. Well, it looks like this escape room hasn't gone that nice, two decent injuries and we haven't even find one clue. Um, but it's just too embarrassing to back off now, let's just keep looking like I know what I'm doing.

Hana turned to Alex, "I'm going to go around the room to find more metal fragments if I can, you have an injured knee, don't bother to move, it'll hurt way more. Is it okay if you can just try and put all those pieces together, and see whether the shadow - Oh what the heck, why is there a flame on the curtains, is this even a escape room any more." Hana immediately move the metal fragments away and stomped on the curtain, hoping that the fire will go out.

Suddenly, she heard a sound, green sparks were omitted, she knew someone's there. Walking towards the spark, she can see a figure, the figure didn't look malicious. So Hana stopped and said, "Hello?"

Injured, but not defeated, the two lionesses would continue with their work, the metal pieces not fitting together into another shape. But the lights continued to flicker and as if by some magic (which was to be expected in a magical school after all), a candle caught nearby curtains on fire. Fires, especially accidental ones, were not uncommon at Hogwarts. But consider that students were learning magic, including spells involving light, heat and flame. It was not that big of a stretch to imagine that fire damage would occasionally be caused.

Not even fire could distract them from their puzzle, as Hana managed to extinguish the flames, the smoke lazily swirling through the air. The portraits hung in judgement, tittering and jeering at the students. But one voice would rise out from the others, "The light is the key and will aid you in your journey but not without the metal." The other portraits jeered at the helpful picture, disappointed that their fun might be ruined.

Perhaps there were more things to come their way, for instance the shadowy figure that sent sparks flying from their wand, causing vision to blur and twist momentarily. The green light was flashy, and almost neon in it's brightness, lighting the room, and then fading away. Eyes would need to re-adjust to the dark, and that would take precious seconds, seconds that they could use elsewhere.

Still bleeding, Hana winces. "I'm starting to believe that this isn't a normal cut, why is it still hurting, I must go to the hospital wing after this, no way I'm surviving this with this cut on my arm. She mumbled. She looked around after the sudden sparks, trying to remember whether the place is still the same. She continued stomping hard on the flaming curtain, hoping it'll extinguish it.

Suddenly, she heard a voice: The light is the key and will aid you in your journey but not without the metal." She looked up and saw the portraits talking to her. Oh. They can talk, I thought they were just judging people the whole time. What if I asked them for the clues? And wait. Light, Key, Not without metal. Hana looked at the metal pieces shattered on the floor, she slowly picked it up, lifted it, and putting it under the candles, she keeps shifting the pieces, hoping there will be some sort of stuff casted on the wall.

"Um. Portrait, may I call you that? Am I doing it right? Can you tell me more clues please? Just give me a slight hint, look at my injured arm, I'm just a poor girl. She asked, very cringe, but she really thought that's the way to fish for clues in an escape room.

Hana’s quick actions saved the day, even as she winced over her injury. The flames slowly died down, avoiding the whole room going up. The paintings at least were grateful for the rescue, as they would have had no recourse. Of course, Hana and her friends wouldn’t have been able to easily leave either but that was of little concern to them.

Once she could turn her mind to the problem at hand with the helpful portraits clue in mind, she began to twist and turn the metal near the candles. This would reveal letters, letters that would lead her to the next clue. But there was no easy way to tell in which order the letters were meant to go. The pieces read Duren the Chawter. A moment later they seemed to make their own decision about how they felt they could be placed, and spelled out Ruden the Wetchra. The metal pieces would have no regard for the human being who held them. One piece in it’s attempt to get in some sort of order, hit Hana’s chin, causing a gash to appear. It also caused her mouth to close with force unexpectedly, causing her to bite her tongue. It seemed the young Gryffindor would have no luck this time around.

Meanwhile placed off-center in the room, there is a platform that contains a statue of some long-forgotten witch or wizard. Age and the lack of careful handling have caused the features to be partially destroyed, difficult to make out. There is a sword in the right hand of the statue, it’s point leading the eyes to a grouping of several smaller portraits, and two larger landscape pieces, their subjects looking on with disdain.
