Quidditch Stands || Secret Blossom Ball Event

Entering from quidditch stands
Alexander walked up the stairs towards the quidditch stands. As he did so his left hand slid along the banisters. To hold himself if he lost his balance and because it felt nice. He looked to his right where Aida was now walking and as they climbed the stairs Alexander thought about the questions that Aida had asked him. Mainly pertaining to his family.

"Well I moved here from the Netherlands. It's a small country just to the East of Britain. If you know geography well you'll probably know it. The move was about....." Alexander exhaled some air as he calculated in his head how long he had been in England. "About 3 or 4 years ago. As for any ties there? Well, I didn't really have any very close friends though I do technically have some family there. Though ties are quite strained/non-existent."

They were now about halfway up towards the stands. Alexander would think again for a moment before continuing to speak. "Well before I found about magic I wasn't that much of a craftsman. Mostly just read books, still do now honestly. But now I find the ideas of crafting far more interesting since they can be enchanted magically and anything like that. Like magical smiths in fantasy books " Alexander then stood still for a moment before gaining a small humorous smile.

"Ï suppose I should be careful not to create one ring to rule them all, one ring to bind all others in darkness " Alexander could not help but make the reference.

"Though I am afraid there is not much of crafts I can teach you yet. Since I don't know that much myself. Though I suppose I am able to do basic things, like drive a nail into a piece of wood. But most of my crafting skills stop there."

Alexander could not help but smile as Aida mentioned strategy. Though as with several days earlier it had a sad quality to it. "I generally like to play strategy games at home for quite some time. As well as reading about history. It helps give perspective. and thank you" At the end Alexander's smile gained a soft quality.

The two were now leaving the stairway and making their way onto the stands themselves.
"Well my parents are my parents. They are kind, support me, and just are........." Alexander said. Not entirely sure of how he could put his entire relationship with his family into words.

"My family is quite small. Just my dad, mom and if you stretch the meaning of it our dog Bruno" Alexander then twisted his thumbs a little before continuing to speak. His frown gaining a slight resentful? quality.

"As for the Etymology of my name. It is a sort of merger of two other last names."

He would then stare down into the quidditch pitch down below before continuing to speak. "The first name is 'Van Leiden' this translates to 'from Leiden' a city in The Netherlands. That is my father's last name."

He would then put his hands behind his back and look further off into the distance.
"The second part is Möller which translates in German to Miller. Then they mismatched the words and came up with something that sounded nice. As for why they made a new family name. " Alexander let out a pensive sigh.

"Explaining that will take quite some time."

"What about the other nine hundred ninety nine thousand powers?" She asked imagining a list in her head as she checked off what Lamik could do. See in the dark. Done. Exceptional Quidditch player. Defnitely. Handsome. They had just established that thank's to Elenas fumble. Whatever this Binding Mark thing was, she was positive it woud catch her off guard..just like the hundered other times she had interacted with the boy. This time was sort of different though..she felt more at ease. Relaxed. Despite her inside voice screaming at her to literally just crumble out of sheer embarassment at certain thing she said, the girl was actually surprised at herself for keeping a cool head..for the most part. That could change very quickly depending on how certain factors went..now if only the entire Ball could go like this..that would be amazing. That ever-lingering doubt still hovered around in the back of her mind.

She stared incredously at the Gryffindor as he launched into his explanation, well he had done it again. Elena had never heard of such a thing. "It's literally that easy? You just like..touch someone and bam, you get like mind communcation and all this stuff." Elena was briefly reminded of how her parents had dabbled in the context and origins of the Dark Mark which was in essence the same thing but still different in nature. "Does it hurt? I mean, when you put the Mark on someone?" It felt a bit like branding someone, placing your classifaction over them which left Elena feeling a bit odd. Though, she assumed like all good things, it could be twisted into something evil and as far as Lamik was concerned, he was the closest thing to a pure soul she had seen.

Elena wondered about her own self. In comparsion to what the boy had going for him, Elena had no particular magical skills, nothing that well..was unique to her. Violin was such a common norm these days and drawing..well,again quite the common thing. Maybe she just hadn't found her calling yet. "All of these skills and you decided to hang out with a dud like me? Shocking." She said half joking yet curious to see what his reply would be. Elena wasn't exactly most people's go-to option in terms of friends or interacting rather be that her personality or something else, she just wasn't that much of a social butterfly yet she had somehow mananged to make her mark here with some of the more alluring indviduals.

Those who knew Kaden well knew that there were few things he loved more than dancing and flowers, so the idea that he wouldn't be present at a Blossom Ball was simply unfathomable. That being said, Kaden was also incredibly meticulous about his appearance, so changing down at the Quidditch Pitch simply wouldn't do. Not with how long it would take him to make his appearance absolutely flawless. Straightening out his collar and his sleeves when he was finished, Kaden gave his reflection a wink. Sometimes he just felt like he could stare into the mirror forever, entranced by the beauty of his own reflection, and yet, now was simply not the time! He needed to hurry, but first, he needed to add just one final touch. It simply wouldn't do not to have a single floral adornment to go with this sky blue suit! A single white rose boutonnière pinned to his left side completed the look Kaden was striving for. He'd likely be far overdressed compared to most of his peers, but that simply meant he would be turning more heads, which was perfectly fine with him. Throwing a large flowing robe over his outfit, Kaden quickly snuck out of his common room and out to the Quidditch Pitch.

Once Kaden arrived on the pitch, his eyes went wide with delight as he saw the large open field had been turned into a giant dance floor! And the music! Kaden could hardly wait to get to dancing, but first, he'd need to find a dancing partner. Perhaps one of the cute guys he'd been talking to lately would be here. Indeed it didn't take him long to locate one of them, standing with two of his other friends no less! Beaming at the three of them, Kaden rushed to the group and greeted them excitedly.

"Haven! Your flower crown is so pretty! And is that a cat stapler? How cute!" Kaden exclaimed. He truly loved Haven's unique sense of style, and wearing a stapler was certainly something he'd never witnessed. "And Liv! You look gorgeous! Are you a bit cold though? If so, let me know and you can wear this." Kaden pulled the long robe covering his outfit over his head and stuffed it into his bag, posing in his new outfit with his hands on his hips and letting out a small giggle. That was when he turned his attention to Charlie next, his bright green eyes lighting up at the sight of the cute Ravenclaw. "Charlie! You're looking as dashing as ever. Care to dance with me?" Kaden extended his hand towards the boy who had deemed himself 'average' upon their first meeting. Whether that was the truth remained to be seen.

"Erin, wait up!" Oliver panted. He didn't want to jog because he didn't want to sweat in his attire. He had followed her out of the changing rooms, across the stretch of grass and as she passed by the outer side of the Quidditch Stands, Oliver called for her. He leaned against one of the wooden beams, looking up in curiosity at the maze of timber that held the stands up. The fabric covering the stands separated the two from view of the Secret Blossom Ball. There was small holes and tears in the house coloured coverings that let in some of the parties light.
Oliver didn't hurry when chasing after Erin cause he wanted somewhere private, like here. It was quiet, the parties music could be heard faintly on the other side of the stands. It was also quite dark so they couldn't be seen together. The last thing Oliver wanted was someone from the party seeing Erin and deciding to take her possible crying moment as a chance to attack.

Atmospheric Music

Oliver looked at Erin. This is weird. She wasn't someone that could just be hugged and told not to worry. Or was she? The Ravenclaw was not prepared for this situation. Nothing in life could prepare him for this. He had paid attention in the changing rooms enough to at least believe he knew why Erin was leaving the ball with watery eyes, which was a good starting ground. She had been tricked into thinking someone was her crush. Or boyfriend. Oliver wasn't sure who Paracelsus was to Erin, he didn't hang out with her on weekends so their personal lives didn't intermix. How could she fall for just a resemblance though? Oliver figured she had been charmed by one of those Valentine treats, or something similar. The boy would never be able to comprehend any other reasoning. His desire for Dymphna was not on that level, he barely even knew her.

"Sorry that you were tricked by that guy... you know, I don't really know what's going on in your life, You-" Oliver choked on his saliva. He was extremely nervous, his fists were clenched trying to get this out. "You mention giants and people disappearing and I'm always like, y'know, I start talking about a comic or something cause I don't know what to say. But that's wrong of me and I'm sorry!" He yelled. "Oops, sorry, didn't mean to raise my voice, heh... Anyway, I care about what you have going on. You're my pal, my only pal. And I won't let you just sink into the mud. Y'know..." Oliver paused, was he talking too much? Maybe, but he had some stuff on his chest he needed to get off," y'know, we're not that much different. We're placed on the outside," Oliver pointed to the party that they were literally outside of," and we're left there. You and I... we're burning up slowly and nobody cares. We're on fire and there's no way to put it out... and people like us have to stick together... they want us to be alone so we're easier to bring down," Oliver wanted to cry so badly but he was clenching up just to keep a strong front. It was Erin's turn to be upset, he didn't want to take it from her, lord knows she needed it,"But not us! I've got your back, I swear I do. As long as you have mine, we can win. We can come out on top..."

Oliver looked Erin face on, her intimidation usually lingered inside of him a fraction even though he saw her as a friend. Right now though it didn't, for once he wasn't scared of Erin. He truly felt he needed her. But none of this was anything to do with romance, he didn't see Erin in that way. A friend was more than what Oliver could ever ask for. Also her veela charm on Oliver faded out likely around the first time she wedgied him. He didn't want any complications either. All Oliver ever wanted was a friend he could rely on, nothing more, nothing less.
His words were were true to him, although Erin was a lot more messed up than Oliver. She had been the victim of murder attempts and been caught up with evil hags. Did that balance out the bullying Oliver faced daily? Probably not, but to Oliver he could not imagine a more insufferable pain than what he'd experienced at Hogwarts.

"What do you think you'd like to make next? Maybe I can help. I like making things and the feeling of accomplishment after a job well done." Aida's voice showed genuine interest but she seemed a bit sad now. All this talk about family was getting to her. She considered trying to conceal her emotions but remembered the decision she had made about Griffith's lesson. Though Aida didn't know how she was going to accomplish it without dangerously bottling up her emotions, she decided to try to not bring Alexander down. She wanted them to have a happy evening, even if hell was about to break loose. At minimum she wanted them to grow from the experience, so she decided to focus on the objective.

"I like it up here. Maybe the high ground makes me feel safer, even if it means we're more isolated. I think I saw someone flying around up there." Aida gestured at the sky. "I wonder if he is safer that way or if he is making himself an easier target through his isolation. There's just so much I don't know about the threat. Do we know anything about it?" Aida was getting sadder despite her efforts to change the topic. She was half speaking about her own self-isolation despite the apparently mundane topic. Talking about her own problems metaphorically concealed inside of other subjects, such as external Hogwarts situations, was becoming a habit. She was able to express her pain this way without having the risk that someone would learn of her situation, even if it meant she may never find real resolutions or interpersonal connection. "I bet he's lonely up there. I wonder if his quidditch friends will come." Aida's tactic was failing. She had to change the topic again.

"So, we've got some rope and a knife. Do you know any spells?" Aida tried to focus on the objective but she was succumbing to a downward spiral. "I'm not even sure why I'm here... I don't know any spells. I don't think I'm magical at all. There was clearly some mistake. I have never even cast a spell in my life." The girl could see that she was failing terribly to create a happy atmosphere. She looked back over at Alexander and tried to focus on the positive. "You look very nice today." She leaned in towards Alexander's jacket to smell the bluebells. She wanted to go back to those joyful moments they had just been having only minutes earlier.

Haven gasped when she realized her friend might not have realized the thing about wearing stationery! What if poor Liv felt left out? Lucky for Haven, she came prepared. "Don't worry, Liv! I have a quill, an eraser, and a paperclip in my shoe," she reassured the fellow Hufflepuff. She sat down on the bench and took off her shoe, revealing the objects. She turned them around in her hand as she said, "I considered bringing a thumbtack too, but then I thought that I wouldn't really like to have a thumbtack in my shoe. You can have the quill, yeah? I painted it myself, and now it's rainbow!" Haven smiled brightly. After examining her friend for a moment, she stuck the quill behind Liv's ear. It was perfect.

"Liv, you're the one who looks stunning. And of course, I'll teach you how to make them... maybe next weekend? We could even take over the whole school and force everyone to wear them! Although, I don't think the headmaster would very much appreciate us taking over the school. We'll just have to find a different way to take over the schools with flower crowns and happiness."

But to be honest, when Charlie came up, she screamed. He couldn't just sneak up like that! In her defense, it was slightly dark outside. After making sure he wasn't a professor or something, Haven gave him a bright smile and a pat on the shoulder. A moment later, she remembered the paperclip and attached it to his suspenders with some weird grunt noise thing.

However, when Kaden came over, she was prepared and waved to him as his figure came over to the small group. It was really getting to be a party now! Haven gave Charlie a thank you to his compliment, poking at her flower crown a bit. When Kaden finally got close enough, she gave him a pat on the shoulder too.

"Thanks Kaden, Haven said with a bit of a blush. "And it IS a cat stapler! Isn't it so cute! I decorated it myself! Her name is Morgana!" She smiled proudly at her creation. "Oh! And that reminds me!" She whipped out the eraser and slowly grabbed his tie, sticking the eraser it until it looked good. It looked perfect. He looked perfect. Wait, what? Haven frowned at her own thoughts before stepping back and beaming at the others. "Now everyone has their own stationery. There didn't even need to be a memo, Liv! There was nothing to worry about!

Serena nodded, playing with her hair a little, "Y-yeah..." She said softly. She was worried this would go so badly. What ridiculously stupid adult organised such a thing? It did not even look like they were present, so they had just left it unattended - which made the whole thing worse. It was definitely a little nerve wrecking to see so many students around, left unsupervised. They, after all, had a habit of starting fights and getting into trouble.

"Yeah, it's been so long! I've been uh alright, yeah. Spent a lot of time playing quidditch, I guess, which has been really amazing," Serena responded with a grin. She hesitated a moment, recalling some of the bad that happened but they were okay - that was what was important here. Quidditch had helped to get over a lot of those negative emotions. Her house was worthy of her overdosed public display of affection. It helped her shine brightly, after all. "Thought I'd represent, I guess," She continued, ruffling her hair a little awkwardly, with a small nervous giggle. Her outfit was definitely very casual compared to those around her.

Shaking her head, she smiled, "No no, not at all, it's great! You look ready to party. I'm the one who looks like they are ready to exercise," She continued trying to reassure her friend, "Your mum did a great job!" Serena added, confirming it.

"Oh, a date?" She teased a little with a smirk as Nico sounded a little awkward mentioning the boy she was waiting for, "Anyone I know?" Serena asked, curious to see who she was dating - if they were dating, that is. She shook her head though, "But uh no, just me. On my own," Confirming that she was not really here with anyone. Everyone else seemed to be. Perhaps she should have asked someone but... Honestly, she was not really here to have fun or go on a date. She was here to make sure no one destroyed her beautiful quidditch pitch.

Serena blinked as she was suddenly hugged, what the- She continued to blink some more, almost falling over. She did not recognise the voice at all. Had she even heard it before? It took her a few moments to realise who it was. Marissa North! It had been a while since she saw her. She could not actually recall having a proper conversation with her. "Marissa?! Hey! Yeah, good, what about you? I haven't seen you in... ages!" She replied, wondering when the last time she had seen the girl even was. Some point in class perhaps? Not that she could recall when, nor did they actually speak but Serena was just guessing.

When the dhampir mentioned she was waiting for a date, Serena grinned at her. Nico wasn't sure how she was able to mention it so casually earlier, but it probably meant that the redhead felt at ease with the Hufflepuff. 'W-Well..' She chuckled as her cheeks flushed red, it looked more pink cuz of the foundation she put on. 'You probably know him. He's a Huffelpuff. Probably the tallest badger of you all. He's ehm... His name is Quinn Healy. Oh! He might be on your team in Quidditch aswell, if I remember correctly.'

As an image of the adorable Tall Badger flashed in her eyes, Nico slightly rubbed her elbow, embarassed but happy. 'I just hope he'll be here soon... He's taking his time.'

The Slytherin was a lil surprised to hear that Serena only came here by herself. Nico wasn't sure, but in the way she spoke, the redhead thought she could hear a worrysome tone. She couldn't blame her. The last Blossom Ball got real bad but who knows... Maybe... Just maybe.. this time it could be different. Admittedly, the dhampir did feel a pit in her stomach. The spider incident hadn't let go off her yet and the slight scars on her legs, she tried to camouflage them. A few layers of foundation had done the trick. No one would know.

Before too long, some girl nearly tackled Serena to the floor. Just like her, Nico blinked, surprised and abit overwhelmed by the girls energy. How to handle this situation... She glanced around before awkwardly waving to the other girl, still deciding to stick closer to Serena. Maybe sooner or later her gingerbread giant would finally appear. The Stands were getting abit more crowded and she wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing...

Despite it having been a few minutes after Erin had left the boys' locker room and Oliver had run after her, Jack was not too much farther behind. When he stepped out into the cool, night air, he glanced around frantically, but it was the call of the other third-year's voice that drew his attention to the outside of the stands. Well...with Erin in the mood she was in, Jack supposed it made sense that she would want to take the long way around back to the castle rather than to try cutting through the pitch where the actual ball was being held. With a heavy sigh, he began walking brisqely after them, trying to keep up a decent pace.

He initially had every intention of catching up to the pair and trying to explain himself. However, the closer he got, the more he began to hear from Oliver and the more he began to think lingering a safe distance away for a little while longer was a good idea. His curiosity was too strong for him to resist the urge to eavesdrop while being given such an opportunity.

Did this boy like her? As in...actually like her, perhaps more than a friend? They were in the same grade, after all, so they very likely knew each other better than most others Erin knew. Jack just couldn't figure out why, if the boy was so loyal to Erin, he hadn't seen him around her for the past several months he had known her. Where had this Oliver been when Thomas had emerged from the lake? Or when Erin had almost been tricked into being handed over to that hag?

Still, he knew how to keep his mouth shut when he wanted to listen. Hoping to get his questions answered, he continued to tag along at a safe pace behind the boy and girl. Had Oliver even come with a date, Jack wondered? Surely he musn't have. Not when he was tagging along after Erin so earnestly. If he'd had a date, he would have much more likely been worried about returning to the ball instead.

Jack had at first been grateful Erin had someone like Oliver to back her up, but if he was so great a friend, why did the part-veela still seem so ignorant of what true friends were really supposed to be? Was he a friend in name only? Or did Erin's false emotions simply make her extra gullible due to her unfamiliarity with them? Did...did Oliver even know Erin had borrowed emotions? Had he known her prior to her possessing them, like Thomas had?

Regardless, once Oliver finished his bit about having Erin's back and coming out on top, Jack finally decided to make himself known. Perhaps Oliver knew her longer, but the Slytherin still doubted the Ravenclaw knew her as well as he had come to in the past few months. And when it came to getting to know people, wasn't it the quality or the depth someone knew of someone else rather than the time they'd known them for, or the quantity that mattered?

"Erin," Jack called, his voice more firm and confident than before.
"Please, don't leave. Oliver is wrong. There is no 'outside' or 'inside'. You two are just as much students as anyone else." His hazel eyes flashed in Oliver's direction. "And just because you might not be aware that anyone cares doesn't mean they don't. You're not as alone as you think - or, perhaps, even want to believe."

Small post in between Jack and Erin's interaction.
Oliver got a fright from the voice behind them, having not heard the creeping Jack. He turned as fast as his wide hips could rotate and at the same time reached his right hand into his left sleeve. From within he grasped his wand, deposited in a handmade sheath, and drew it swiftly. His hands were however severely sweaty from expressing himself to Erin and as he whipped his wand out, it flung onto the ground before his feet. With a cursing yelp, he leaned down to pick up his wand. He wouldn't raise his arm to point it at Jack but he would keep it in sight. Oliver was cautious of the kid trying to blindside with a spell like he attempted to in the changing room.

He didn't trust the first year, he had lied to Erin and took on prefects. Although Oliver was prepared to also take on the prefects too, his intentions were to protect Erin. He raised his brow as he listened to his charming deception, shaking his head as he watched that snake tongue spit its deceit. For all Oliver knew, there was an "outside" and he was on it. And would forever remain there for as long as he tricked himself into believing he was like those on the "inside". He wasn't, and never would be. He'd already spent three years in near complete loneliness, he wasn't going to lie to himself any longer.

Oliver would let Erin respond though. He was too quiet to respond to someone not even directing themselves at him.
