Since birth, Marina’s life has been marked by twos. Two parents—Horacio Alacrán and Paloma Alcázar, separated with an undertone of disdain. Two kids, at least that Rina had to deal with—she and her brother Ros. Two cities—Toledo, Cádiz. And two lives—pure-blooded destitution and Muggle joy.
Marina split her time between Cádiz and Toledo nearly equally, although her feelings about each city were far from similar. She far preferred her family life in Toledo; her mamá actually cared for her and raised her as best she could. In Toledo, she was educated (as much as Paloma could do at home), but the best part was that she got to spend time getting to know the patrons at the old hotel her mamá worked at. She got to know more than just the Muggle patrons—in a building that old, there were a few patrons with arrows sticking out of their chests or really old clothing, and most of them had the ability to walk through walls. Rina’s mamá simply praised her imagination when she brought it up.
In Cádiz, Rina was largely left to fend for herself. Horacio worked at the magical port to inspect imported goods, and she was usually left at his crumbly, sometimes mouldy flat alone. This didn’t largely bother her; she would spend time outside with her friends, becoming rather impressive at futbol and also enjoying time on her bicycle and at the beach. It only became problematic when her father came home and brought something—or someone—with him. On days like this, he often acted as if he wished to shoo her out of the house, but he couldn’t, since there would be legal problems.
She was glad her mamá hadn’t married Horacio.
Nevertheless, Rina remained firmly aware of the magical world. She knew of her father’s life, of how he had attended Beauxbâtons, and, of course, how he had once been primed to inherit quite a bit of magical money. And how it was all her fault he hadn’t. She had learned to shrug off his displeasure, and she ended up associating the magical world with negativity. For years, as far as she was aware, she had exuded no magical ability, something she was very grateful for. All she wanted was to keep her normal, mundane life with her normal, completely mundane mother.
However, she had a bit more interaction with the magical world than she really knew. Sometimes, most usually when at her mamá’s hotel in Toledo, she caught glimpses of partially-translucent individuals in very old clothing. They spoke, too, although most often in older accents. Some of their words were pronounced very oddly. More often than not, they disappeared about as soon as she had seen them. Once, she told her mamá about the apparitions, but her mamá informed her she had an ‘overactive imagination’. Although sceptical, Rina assumed this to be true enough.
Given that she had a largely Muggle upbringing, most of her hobbies were Muggle in nature. After befriending some local youths in Cádiz in a cycling competition, Rina began to cycle everywhere in both Toledo and Cádiz. She gained a fair amount of independence from her father’s lack of acknowledgement of her, meaning she and her friends would take trains around Andalucía… although Rina still did keep in contact with her mamá via text message, just to make sure she knew she was safe. Rina got into music, too, starting a band with some of her friends in Cádiz. They were too young to properly understand the point of it, but Rina has sworn up and down that when she comes home from school in summer, she’ll keep playing with Inigo, Carla and Miguel. The only downside is she’ll have to bring an acoustic guitar to Beauxbâtons…

When she was ten and staying in Cádiz with her father for a week in December, all the normalcy of Rina’s life came crashing to a halt. Her father had been out for who knew how long, and Rina had tasked herself with cooking torrijas. While scrambling for some more butter, her arm knocked an oily napkin onto the stove. Panicking, she slammed her hands onto the napkin, stove and pan; to her horrified surprise, she did not burn her hands, and the flames extinguished. Her hands did become very sticky, and her torrijas very smushed. Nonetheless, she knew magic was the only explanation for such an ordeal, and she felt her heart sink even as she licked butter from her fingers.

As far as she was aware, Rina was a half-blood, pretty much a Squib. She’d heard plenty of her father’s background—pureblooded Alacráns and minor noble families back as far as history went, and they were just high and mighty enough about it for her to believe the stories she heard. Her mother, however, was as normal as they got. She worked as a manager at a hotel, had a mobile phone and introduced Rina to the beauties of music and television. Given that, Rina grew up very much ignorant of some far-off, but still existent, magic in her mother’s blood.
Her great-great… however many greats… grandfather had been magical, and a peculiar type of magical, not that she knew it. The man had been very intrigued with how Muggles acted and had ultimately taken a career as a fortune teller. He fell in love with a Muggle fortune teller and the two got married, resulting in his disownment from his traditional family. Álvaro Alcázar was quickly forgotten from his magical family, as were his descendants, and he kept his magical heritage a secret when his children ended up as Squibs.
The most curious thing to Rina was an old painting her mamá had of Álvaro. He was young in the painting, but his hair was snow-white already. Rina had asked her mamá if she would have similar features, and Paloma had just laughed and shaken her head. ‘He was very special,’ she had assured her daughter, ‘and he had a condition that made his hair white, according to my bisabuelo. None of his kids inherited that condition, and none of their kids, all the way to me and you.’
Rina had nodded, but she had also secretly made a plan to bleach her hair in the future.
Little did she know that a very similar, perhaps even congruent condition was very present on her father’s side of the family. It was not present in her father himself, a fact he was very bitter about. Horacio maintained the dark hair of his mother’s family. His father, however, was a Naming Seer. Rina had never met the man, and she did not want to, so she never got to see the old pictures of him in his youth, with strikingly white hair that was very, very similar to that of her tatarabuelo Álvaro.
Unlike her father, Rina’s upbringing was marked by her having a relatively keen sense of intuition. Her mamá liked to joke that she lacked common sense, and although Rina had a reputation for being a bit of a thrill-seeker, she never seemed to land herself in any harm. Even while careening down a narrow, curving street at top speed on her bicycle, even after pressing the front brake hard, she neatly did a flip over her handlebars and rolled to a stop. Had she pressed the brake any sooner, unbeknownst to her, she likely would have not successfully performed the trick.
There have been plenty of times Rina has crossed the street and stopped herself before someone has sped up their car. Or when she’s stopped herself right before stepping on a stair that, when someone else put weight on it, collapsed. She just thought herself to be very observant and didn’t pay any mind to these instances, but it was really a bit of intuition that caused it.

Rian loved seeing his grandmother over the weekends and holidays because she lived in the woods, far from the city's noise. Her small cabin always smelled of pine and fresh bread, the air thick with the scent of woodsmoke and wildflowers in the summer. The porch creaked under their feet as Rian and his sister, Ashyln, would race up the steps, eager to escape into the endless woods that surrounded the heart-shaped lake.
Rian would bring all sorts of pets home—frogs, lizards, sometimes even baby birds—and his grandmother never seemed to mind. She always kept a box of old towels, a little cage for his "rescues," and a pair of gentle hands ready to help. Ashlyn, more cautious but just as curious, would watch her brother with wide eyes, sometimes helping him find worms or leaves for the creatures. Their grandmother taught them to care for each animal gently, to understand when it was time to let go, and to respect the wildness of the forest.
Their cousins, Lindsey and Autumn, visited often, and their laughter echoed through the trees as they played hide and seek among the ferns and fallen logs. The children would gather at the water’s edge, skipping stones and inventing stories about what might live in the lake's mysterious depths. Evenings were spent around the old stone fireplace, sharing stories and fresh bread, feeling safe and content in the soft glow of lamplight. The woods, the lake, and their grandmother’s cabin became a world of wonder and comfort for Rian, Ashyln, and their cousins—memories they would carry with them always.
Of course, if they were good, they would sometimes get to go during the week if they had a function of some sort.

He had been sick for Christmas with the Flu. His family, had been planning a vacation to go see his mom's sister daughters, Lindsey and Autumn plus their dad, Matthew. Sadly, since he was sick, he could not go. Instead, his grandmother, his mom's mom took care of him while they were away. They ended up leaving. Ashyln, was happy to go but missed her brother terribly. The Bliss family was over in America visiting her grandfather and that's where Rian was supposed to be headed but never made it.
On the way there, they were traveling by plane, the plane malfunctioned. It started vibrating. They were over a frozen lake. It wasn't going well. The Crow family grabbed each other, as the plane plummeted. The plane hit the surface and never resurfaced. No one made it out alive.
He of course was angry. All the sudden fire balls shot out of his hands, like nothing. No skin was burned. They didn’t do any damage, it came as shock of course

Melissa, or as her family call her Mel, grew up in a household with a snotty, grotty thinking that bogies are a nice gift brother ( Or as most people call him Carlos), a papa who was the kindest person you could ever meet but he was a perfectionist. Her family were in possession of several fish ( Angelfishes, called Carrot, Melon and Mango if you really wanted to know) but they died after a year and a bit. Oh, yeah and a mother who died giving birth to Carlos. Yep, her mama was cruelly snatched away after only three years of knowing her. Mel knows it’s not true but sometimes she feels that it is Carlos’s fault her dear mama died but that’s just unfair to him.
As a child she had always loved food. Jokingly sometimes her papa and brother call her the living dustbin, because she eats everything she can. Melissa’s life is full of chaos, fun and laughter but she wouldn’t change a thing. ( except maybe her mama dying…).

When she was seven Melissa had been on holiday to a seaside town in Portugal with her intermediate family and had been eating lunch from a fish and chip shop and a seagull swooped down to grab her chips. Melissa screamed and screamed and screamed, and once again screamed! She sprinted towards the jetty and leaped, like I dunno seven feet in the air and grabbed her chips back.
When she floated back to the ground her brother said “You must love chips!”. “I really do.” Melissa replied grinning broadly.

Alejandros’ conception was the kind of expected disaster the pure-blooded wizarding world had experience covering up. Alba Flores ran from an arranged marriage with Martín Espinosa, but at least she did it with another pure-blood, and when she inevitably ran back because Horacio Alacrán was not the kind of man forever was likely to work out with, she was lucky enough to be swept back into high society’s fold. She accepted her place as Señora Espinosa, and Ros was gifted with two distant fathers.
His childhood was fine. The big family house in Marbella was old and multigenerational, under his grandparents primarily and his father secondarily. The household spoke Spanish with the occasional French sprinkled in from their time at Beauxbâtons, and tutors ensured he would know the language well enough by the time he was eleven, as well as some English for all the exchanges with international wizarding schools. While there was enough wealth to buy anything, the family philosophy was too strict to give the children whatever they wanted. What Ros would work out, eventually, was that there were certain things he was supposed to want, and whether or not he actually did, he’d make them all much happier with him if he pretended to. The exception was his mamá, who turned affectionate whenever it was just the two of them and bought him paints when she saw his passion in the doodles tucked in the corners of his assignments.
Mostly he was raised as an Espinosa, like the affair didn't exist, but his mamá retained enough of a relationship with Horacio for Ros to see him, sometimes, and wonder whether he was supposed to call him padre. At least being around him meant being around his sister, Rina, who was probably the most wonderful, terrifying person he’d ever met. She stressed him out even more than he stressed himself out, but honestly? He wished he could be more like her, able to shrug off what people thought and choose what he wanted.
Other times he wished he could be more like his other little sister, because Teresa Espinosa was practically faultless. Two years younger and five parts tougher than him, Ros mostly tried to avoid standing right next to her for comparison. He had a younger brother, too, but Emilio was an annoying toddler with sticky hands and irritatingly loud cries whenever he didn’t get what he wanted, at least according to Ros, and how was an eleven-year-old supposed to get along with a four-year-old, anyway?

Ros’ first instance of magic came right before he fell asleep when he was seven, nearly eight. Perhaps inspired by an overactive imagination as he started to drift off, he briefly covered the whole bedroom in wildflowers, twisting shapes and bright colors digging their roots into every plain corner. They only lasted long enough for him to call in his parents and little sister to see, and he cried when they vanished, but his mamá conjured her own handful of wildflowers for him to keep in a vase at his bedside until they wilted.

The Flores family was known for its long history of metamorphmagi and little else, standing among much wealthier, nobler wizarding families. At times this was a winning quality, employable and sought after, and at others it left them distrusted and shunned, windows shuttered. By the time Alba was a teenager, opinions had improved, and her expression of the metamorph gene brought the attention of the Espinosas, one of those wealthier, nobler lines with a particular reputation for raising aurors. Such a line of work valued metamorphs, and the Espinosas had endeavored to pull the gene into their family line over the generations with limited success; still, they supposed it lay dormant in their blood and may be brought to the surface with another introduction of the gene.
It was this motivation behind the arranged marriage that saved Alba, ultimately, because her other defects could be overlooked for her exceptional control of her ability. Tensions were further smoothed when Alejandros showed signs as an infant during tantrums, inheriting the recessive allele from his biological father so that his hair flickered orange and ears shifted smaller — he might not be an Espinosa by blood, but he was in name, and they were nothing if not practical. Still, they tried twice more for another metamorph child, failing with Teresa but eventually succeeding with Emilio.
The Espinosas were decidedly unknowledgeable when it came to the rearing of a metamorph. The last one had been Ros' great-great-grandmother, and if she'd left behind advice, it had been lost. Martín looked at his son and saw an out-of-control little boy, excusable while he was really little but a poor sign for his potential as an heir. As soon as the tantrums of toddlerhood waned, he expected far greater control over the appearance shifts. Alba knew better, from her own childhood and from all her grandfather had taught her, but she had never quite regained enough respect in that household to convince them metamorph children couldn't be expected to control the swell of their powers with their emotions so quickly, so Ros frequently heard his father’s and grandparents’ dissatisfaction.
Alba taught Ros what she knew about breathing exercises and emotional regulation, but he internalized his father's cues to repress much faster. It didn't work entirely. Still, he discovered tricks for holding back his emotions, a mounting discomfort like holding his breath or even a sneeze, just long enough to duck out of a room and release them in a burst across his body. He shifted colors most of the time, an unfortunately accurate mood ring. He wanted to shift himself a few inches taller, or to look a little more like his father so maybe he’d like him better, but he hadn’t worked out how to do that in front of a mirror yet. They weren’t so hard on Emilio when he shifted uncontrollably, maybe because he really was an Espinosa and they’d bothered to read up on metamorphmagus development this time around. Or because he was still only four.
For as much disappointment as it brought him now, Ros was sure he could fix everything eventually with his controlled metamorphmagus abilities. He’d fit the Espinosa mould — be tall, strong, hard-eyed. He’d shift on command and never when he didn’t want to, and he’d be set up to be a skilled auror like his father. They’d be happy with him.

Name: Violette Corbeau
PC Account Name: Milica Vranekova
Year: First
Link to your Character Page: Violette Corbeau
Status: Pureblood
Residence: Nice, France
Nationality: French
History:ReducioFirst Magic:Violette's childhood can be described as anything but ordinary. At the time of her birth, she was an objectively pretty baby with big, blue eyes. Like most parents, hers thought she was special. During the earlier parts of her childhood, this belief never faded, only growing stronger as time passed. This inevitably came with spoiling and pampering. As a result, Violette grew up quite bratty.
Her home life was fine. They didn't have much, but Violette quickly learned how to make do with what she got. Dinners were simple, but she didn't go to bed hungry. Her mattress was old, but at least she had a roof above her head. For a reason Violette would never understand, her parents, even being purebloods, didn't use magic to fix these issues. She didn't know this, but they were not the most gifted magic users, and were too proud to ask others for help. They seemed fine with it though, putting the time they didn't spend coddling her in their 'magic' bakery which wasn't doing well enough to truly provide for the family. The young girl herself didn't know any better at that time. In any case, the love of her family more than made up for it.
It was around the age of six when she started noticing how other families were doing. She attended a small preparatory school where she was surrounded by half- and purebloods, most of them being well off. She had difficulty making friends at first. It seemed like everyone was wearing the most trendy clothing, eating the most exquisite lunches and playing with the most expensive toys. Things Violette never had access to. Slowly but surely, she started becoming resentful towards her family. Why couldn't she have those things, live in luxury? It was simply unfair. Over the years, she grew more and more detached with her family. Not only because of their lifestyle she started disapproving of, but also because her little sister was born, who her parents now put most of their effort into.
At school, she started pretending. Her free time was spent asking around, doing odd jobs for some pocket money which was then used to keep up with her classmates, keep up appearances. It could never buy true class, but at least she had enough to create her own persona. Soon enough, she started making friends. She spent the little money she had dressing prettily, buying products to style her hair, buying lip glosses in a bunch of different colors, and she even started wearing cheap perfume. Her classmates fell for the act, even her friends, who she still wasn't very close with. Nobody remembered where she started, and nobody knew her big secret.
At the age of 10, her popularity peaked. Her perfectly styled blonde hair and her striking blue eyes, as well as her feminine style were well liked by her classmates. Her outfits were often used as inspiration by others, and Violette knew it. She felt like the star of the show, even if it was mostly pretend. Inevitably, she also made some enemies. Other girls were often jealous of her, at least, that's how it came across. Even her little sister didn't like the person she pretended to be. She supposed that came with popularity.
In her free time, when Violette wasn't at school or doing odd jobs, she liked to read. She was quite a studious person behind the scenes. At a young age, she also learned how to cook. Her family preferred fatty unhealthy foods, which certainly didn't fit into her new lifestyle, so she often cooked for herself. She also adopted a beautiful stray cat whom she named Bijou who she spends a lot of time with, and often brought her with her when visiting her friend's homes. When it comes to her family, she usually ignored them. She had a falling out with her parents over her preferred lifestyle, and she didn't even get along well with her sister. Violette wasn't at home a lot, preferring to stay over at other people's homes. Her parents were generally aware of where she was, as she made it a habit to stay over with her friends. Even when she was home, she mostly kept to herself.
At eleven, she was thrilled to go to Beauxbatons, happy to leave behind her life of poverty for most of the year. She expected to see many girls like her: pretty, lavish and confident. Still, she also feared her competition, not that it mattered. She would be to most popular girl there. She would make sure of it.ReducioIs your character a Quidditch player/Broom racer/Duelist? Yes, duellistHer first instance of magic occurred at the age of 8. It happened quite randomly, in the middle of class. She was called on to read a paragraph in a book out loud when she suddenly felt the urge to sneeze. Not wanting to embarrass herself like that, she tried to hold it in, but alas. The sneeze came anyway. Surprisingly, when she opened her eyes, she noticed some bubbles had come out of her nose. Her classmates didn't seem surprised, after all, they all grew up in a magical household themselves. Still, Violette felt like she was glowing. Finally, proof that she was not a squib.

Special Race/Ability: Seer, application belowReducioIf special race/ability, how did they join the school? N/a - entering after 2024Violette always knew she was special. From a very young age, she knew she was the perfect role model to her peers. Everybody always looked up to her. From her flawless blonde hair that was always diligently curled and fell gracefully over her shoulder, to the thoughtful suggestions she always gave others, whether they asked for it or not. It was no surprise that she was the most popular girl in her small preparatory school. Whenever she walked into a room, people often stopped their conversations seemingly halfway before continuing in hushed whispers, probably out of respect of her delicate ears. Many didn't even dare approach her out of envy, except for her small group of friends whom she made popular too. All in all, it was clear that she was an object of admiration to everyone.
Apart from her idolization, there has always been one other aspect that made her unique. Though rare, there have been times when she was hit with brief flashes of intuition, as if she had some sort of a sixth sense. For example, there was this one time when she had the feeling that a bitter, green-eyed girl was going to be talking about her behind her back after classes ended, trying to damage her pristine reputation. Throughout the day, she wasn't entirely sure if this could be true - after all, she couldn't imagine why anyone would smear her like that - but when school was finished, she confronted the girl regardless. Turned out, the girl had in fact been spreading vile rumors about her just before she arrived at the scene, ones Violette couldn't bear repeating. Not to worry: afterwards, the girl was dealt with, and she would not be able to talk negatively about her ever again.
This is just one example of her intuition showing, but it occurred a few more times throughout the years. No wonder she feels special. According to her parents, whom she was not even very close to, this could mean she was born with the gift of foresight, just like her grandmother was. A seer, they called her. Violette wasn't sure whether she would like to inherit this ability though. On the one hand, it could prove useful in situations where she did not have enough information to know how to respond to something in a proper manner. On the other hand, after doing some research, she learned that many Seers were in fact not well-liked, even seen as frauds. And she, well, would do anything to keep up her good reputation.
To be honest, Violette never thought she'd be a seer. She'd had some moments of intuition, but she usually liked to pass those off as logical thinking, or in some cases, just luck. At the age of 11, when she was accepted to Beauxbatons, she still didn't know if she would be one. She secretly hoped she was not: she quite liked her life of social luxury. Still, only time could tell whether she possessed the gift of insight, and the girl might not like the conclusion.

Reasons for pending:
-The wizarding world typically does not have formal magical schooling before the age of 11. Because of this, the section mentioning a wizarding school at age six would need to be adjusted. You could instead describe it as homeschooling, tutoring, or a magical daycare/preparatory environment.
- As Violette’s family is pureblood, readers may wonder why magic is not used to repair things around the home despite their financial struggles. Could you briefly clarify this in the history section so the lifestyle matches the family’s magical background?
- Since Violette is still quite young at this point, you may want to clarify where she spends most of her time when she is not at home and if her parents were aware of this.
- Please update her encyclopedia to include School and School Year.

Kira's first instance of magic happened when she was a temperamental four year old. She and Sasha had just won their first ever mini's figure skating competition and were recieving their medals. She felt herself buzzing with energy as she felt the weight of it around her neck. She felt like she was floating, as if nothing in the world would ever be able to bring her back down again until her mother said that they had only won because "Sasha executed everything perfectly" with a pointed look in her direction. She was so angry her body erupted into angry flames that grew bigger when her mother approached her. The sudden outburst had scared her though, so it didn't last very long.

Kira comes from a long line of pure Veela women, something of utmost importance their family, making sure it didn't get lost or watered down by producing non-veela offspring.
She herself is only Part-Veela because her father had no Veela heritage himself. When her grandparents found out they were furious at her mother, how could they have just disrespected centuries of tradition for her own fanciful whims. Not only that but to then let her children take his last name, it was utter disgrace to them. Nevertheless, they had let her stay with the family to raise her and Sasha, not wanting to become estranged to their grandchildren.
When she was nine years old, her mothers and fathers sides of the family had had a horrible dispute, arguing and fighting over effect of being veela in their society during a family gathering. It had escalated so badly that their parents had ordered her and Sasha away to their room before announcing that they would be moving away in the following week.
She had inherited the traditional Veela physical features from her ancestors, the light hair, light eyes, fair skin, etc. It had been obvious since her very day of birth, she was the spitting image of her grandmother. They had been close when she'd still lived in Russia, having been the one to console and calm her during fits of rage or days of demotivation, but they had lost contact after moving, not having been allowed any electronic devices (apparently they were a distraction from what was truly important, winning) and not knowing her grandmothers address. Although she sometimes still missed her very dearly, she has mostly gotten over it and adjusted to life without her. But, of course, nothing good comes without consequence.
The ugly side of her heritage would show its face once she got really angry. The first time it happened she had been too enraged to even notice her physical transformation but she soon began to fear it after having seen what it did to her. What if it happened in front of people she knew or were important? She would make sure this wouldn't happen. The tantrums which were once frequent were quickly subdued by the ever present fear.
Her background was also useful when competing or performing, being able to charm a couple extra points out of the judges or win over an audience to do it in her stead with a couple bats of her eyelids or wink in their direction. After all, why wouldn't she use everything she had to ensure the best result. Under her mothers reluctant tuition she and Sasha were very adept at charming an audience and very aware of their impression on others. In their childhood, they'd often preferred to appear cute and innocent, winning hearts with cheeky grins, or sassy, adopting an whiney attitude to make them laugh. Never, though, had they had they changed into harpies in front of an audience.

Étienne Chevalier and Camille Laurent-Chevalier met in Lyon, a city in France. After being together for 3 years, they finally got married. Etienne was an art historian, and extremely loved his job. It was always Camille’s dream to stay in Paris. After working in the fashion industry for about 5 years, she finally got an opportunity to move to Paris. Her husband and parents also supported her on this decision. Etienne and Camille rented an apartment in Paris, where Vivienne was born. Vivienne was always a bit of a peculiar child. She was usually more observant than most kids her age. This didn’t go unnoticed by her parents, but they didn’t worry too much about it. At 5, Vivienne expressed that she wanted to be a professional dancer. At that time, the total income of the family wasn’t too much, which is why they couldn’t afford dance lessons for her. A year later, both her parents got promoted, increasing the total amount of income by a lot. Therefore, as a birthday present to Vivienne , they gave her a chance to audition for one of the best dance centres in Paris for juniors. One step in, the coaches were absolutely stunned by her performance. They accepted her in. After that, Vivienne trained vigorously. She even competed in the nationals for juniors. Her coaches told her that if she worked hard at this stage, she might even get into one if the elite dance academy in Paris. Vivienne was perfectly able to manage her schoolwork as well as her dancing. After she was accepted into Beauxbatons, both her parents were shocked, but soon congratulated her and wished her the best.

Kira Valencia Orlova comes from a wealthy family. She and her twin, Aleksandr (Sasha), were born to Andrea and Yulia Orlova (3/4 Veela born Yulia Kaganovsky) in Russia. Their younger sister Anastasia (Nastya) was born ten years later. Both twins were very gifted academically and were often compared to each other by their family, fostering constant competition between the two. Despite this the two have a unique bond between them, allowing them to almost communicate telepathically.
Her father, himself a pure-blood, follow their ideology as well. His distaste for muggles and other creatures was as strong as could be throughout most of his life. When he first met Kira's mother, he hadn't known she was Veela. He had fallen in love with her charm and grace without knowing that she was the very thing he despised. It was the day after they'd gotten married that he found out. She had pleaded with him not to leave her, she was still the same after all, what difference did it make? Her father, unable to help himself accepted, since that day onwards he loosened his beliefs against other magical beings. It had also been her mother, having fallen in love with figure skating whilst accompanied her father on one of his work visits to the muggles as part of the ministry, who led him to accept muggle sports and activities as long as the beings themselves weren't there.
The family emigrated to France two years ago, when she was nine, because of her parents' business, or so they claimed. They run a beauty chain in Russia but as more and more issues began to occur, they moved to France, hoping for a better market. Kira and her brother had both been learning french since a very young age, it was almost a second mother tongue to them at this point, so they had no struggle in that aspect but they had a hard time fitting in. They were homeschooled and had always been, learning what they could about magical history and theory.
Her family made an exception to their beliefs, allowing Kira and her brother to take part in muggle sports. Obviously they were were kept separate from the muggles themselves and could only compete against other wizards. They partook in figure skating and dance, which their parents believed would build discipline as well as talent for physical expression in their children. Like in anything else, they were expected to train and compete to the best of their ability at all times.
A few years later, her youngest sister was born. Since the moment she lay eyes in her, Kira knew that baby was hers to protect. She wouldn’t let anyone do anything to her ever. She also took to talking to the baby because, well, it couldn’t understand it yet.
She prefers her father to her mother, being his favourite. He often pushed her to do better than she thought she could, even when it was hard.
He pampered her with gifts and treats when she performed well. Her mother on the other hand, didn't seem to understand her as well as her father did. Kira found her colder, harsher than her father. She favoured her brother and would do activities with him that she wasn't allowed to, saying that he was a boy and could therefore do things 'proper ladies' couldn't as well as often undermining her successes.
First Incident of Magic:
Reducio
Kira's first instance of magic happened when she was a temperamental four year old. She and Sasha had just won their first ever local mini's figure skating competition and were recieving their medals. She felt herself buzzing with energy as she felt the weight of it around her neck. Even though they had only competed against a few other wizarding families, she as if nothing in the world would ever be able to bring her back down again. That was, until her mother said that they had only won because "Sasha executed everything perfectly" with a pointed look in her direction. She was so angry her hair erupted into angry flames that only grew wilder in her panic. The sudden outburst had scared her though, so it didn't last very long.

Kira comes from a long line of Veela women from the Kaganovsky family, something of utmost importance to them was making sure it didn't get lost or watered down by producing non-veela offspring. It had already been ambiguous when her grandmother had married her grandfather, who himself had a wizard father. It was their specialty, as one of the oldest Veela families in Russia, they had to keep up their reputation. It was one of the very first things Kira remembered her mother teaching her. Whatever you do, do it well and do not disappoint our family.
A Kaganovsky marriage with a non-Veela was unheard of by most. Anyone who dared to disrupt their precious heritage would, most of the time, be disowned or forced to change their name. Often they would be erased from their family history as if they had never been part of it. Of course, there had been some who allowed them to remain, but nothing could stop them from being shunned by the rest of the family.
She herself is Part-Veela because her father had no Veela heritage himself. When her grandparents found out they were furious at her mother, how could she have just disrespected centuries of tradition for her own fanciful whims, in their case, her grandfather had at least been half-Veela. Not only that but to then let her children take his last name, it was an utter disgrace to them. Nevertheless, they had agreed to let her stay with the family, if only just to raise Kira and Sasha, not wanting to become estranged to their only grandchildren. The only thing worse than having impure offspring was to end the family line. Her mother, being an only child, bore the burden of keeping it alive and her, well, grandparents didn’t want to be known as the Kaganovskys that caused the line to die out.
She had inherited the traditional Veela physical features from her ancestors, the light hair, light eyes, fair skin and a dazzling smile. It had been obvious since her very day of birth, much to her father’s dismay, that she was the spitting image of her grandmother. The physical traits she’d inherited from her father was her physical strength, balance and agility.
When Kira was nine years old, her maternal grandparents hosted a yule-mas gathering and had invited her paternal side of the family to join. An obvious tension had hung over the entire evening, growing heavier and heavier until a dispute broke out. They began arguing and fighting over how the others were negatively influencing the children. It had escalated so badly that their parents had ordered her and Sasha away out of the room before announcing that they would be moving away in the following week under the guise of there being ‘more opportunity for us as a family’ in France.
Once in France, they lost most of the contact with their mother’s family. Kira’s mother suddenly became the only Veela in her life. It was at once refreshing and pressuring. She was free from the expectations of her grandparents. The constant worrying about how it would reflect on their family. Instead she felt the pressure from her parents growing more and more with each passing day. They were creating a new name for themselves in France, it would not do to be seen as anything less than great.

If special race/ability, how did they join the school? N/A - Entering after 2024
STATUS: pending — Santiago, 1/05/26
Reasons for pending:
- A full Veela parent means Kira isn’t pureblood in the traditional sense. Please adjust this to reflect that the family follows pureblood ideology rather than being strictly pureblood, and clarify how her mother fits into that dynamic as a different magical being.
- Additionally, pureblood families wouldn’t participate in muggle sports like figure skating without muggle or half-blood influences. Please change this to a magical equivalent or another wizarding activity.
- Please remove colors from trunk.
- The first instance of magic is currently too powerful. While fire-based accidental magic is fine in concept, the scale and control here (her body fully erupting into flames and the effect escalating) reads as too powerful for a 4-year-old.
- The veela application is 495 words according to wordcounter. It need to be at least 500.
- Kira is displaying traits in her application that she won't develop until later years. Please remove any descriptions of her using allure, scream, charm or temperament, as these are abilities she would gain later. You could instead focus on writing how the veela genes has been inherited in her ancestry line. Worth to mention is that a part-veelas would not turn into "harpies".
STATUS: pending — Santiago, 3/05/26
Reasons for pending:
- Update the ency to have the same history as your application.
- Kira could have been introduced to figure skating through her Veela mother, but please include a sentence explaining how she was exposed to the Muggle world (if they're living in the wizarding world.)
- Anyone born to a Veela parent would be part-Veela, so stating that there had never been a non-Veela in the family is redundant. You may instead phrase it as marriage to a non-Veela being unheard of within the family.
STATUS: pending — Santiago, 5/05/26
Reasons for pending:
- Please clarify what percentage Veela Kira’s mother is. Full Veela do not possess wand-based magic unless they have wizarding ancestry. As it stands, it would be unlikely for Kira's grandfather to have worked in the Ministry unless he was at least part wizard.

Her life was so fun, but she missed her old friends, who’d grew apart from her as she moved to Spain.

When Melissa was 6 she was really hungry. Her Papa has grabbed her last chip out of her hand, and that made her sad. As she turned the waterworks on, her papas mouth flew open. A completely undigested chip flew out of his mouth and Mel grabbed it and ate up.

- Your character's history section is under word count at 173 words. Please expand upon her past so that it meets the required word count of 200.
- Your encyclopedia must include your character's background and first instance of magic. Please make sure these are added!
- You note that your mother passed away during childbirth. Please consider that, as a Pureblood family, wizard health-care is far better and it may be unlikely she would pass away this way! Wizards have access to things such as Blood Replenishing Potions and more! You can read more about Maladies and Magic here. Please add more explanation for this narrative choice or alter it.
- It seems that your first instance of magic is not entirely accidental. You describe Melissa wanting to get her chips back and willing it to happen. Accidental magic is unintentional and can happen for one of three reasons: it just happens, it happens in response to danger as an act of self-preservation, or it happens in response to a strong emotion. Please adjust your explanation to fit this requirement.
