I've never read Macbeth...sounds very interesting though! I have read Jekyll and Hyde, I hated every bit of it(not the genre of books I enjoy at all)!

Well actually you're partially right because because by committing regicide- the ultimate sin against God and spiritual divinities, Macbeth has let evil into the world. Shakespeare emphasises his role as a murderer through the recurring imagery of blood. After killing Duncan, Macbeth is immediately associated with blood and murder, shown when he looks at his hands and realises the irreversible nature of his action, guilt starting to kick in. This is developed further when he admits, "I am in blood stepped in so far" where the metaphor of being submerged in blood suggests not just a single act of violence, but a continuous pattern of killing. The word "stepped" implies that Macbeth has actively chosen this path, while "so far" indicates the sheer extent of the lives he has taken. Moreover, his later decision to murder Macduff’s "wife" and "babes" proves that he does not only take the blood of political enemies, but also innocent people, highlighting his complete moral deterioration. Therefore, Shakespeare presents Macbeth as a character who increasingly takes blood from others, moving from a conflicted murderer to a ruthless tyrant driven by violence.🤓🤓
