It was the anniversary of Lillian's leaving, and Ivy was restless and angry. Lillian had been her older sister before she eloped with a Muggle boy last year, leaving only a letter to explain her actions. Ivy had been extremely close with her, and her leaving had hurt her greatly. She could tell by the uncomfortable, gloomy tension at breakfast that her parents were hurting as well, even though they said not a word about it. Her maid, Jessamine, had woken her up with red eyes that morning, having been rather close with Lillian as well.
Annoyance had rushed through her at the sight of the other girl's red-rimmed eyes. There was an obligation to comfort her, but why should she have to comfort Jessamine when it was her sister who had left? "I'm not even crying," Ivy had said. Her voice was strangely cold for a seven-year-old. "Why are you?" Jessamine had apologized, but it only left Ivy feeling guiltier, and shortly after breakfast, she announced that she was going out to ride. No one protested, and she went out, not really caring to put on the appropriate gear. She just needed to get away from this place, where memories of Lillian lingered and haunted her every move.
Now, firmly clutching the reins as she and Debutante galloped away from the stables, she felt the wind in her hair and heard the steady, quiet thuds of the horse's hooves against the grass. With each second, Ivy felt freer and further from the confines of Bellamy Manor. She looked back, and noted with delight that the large house was only a small speck in the distance - but it was still there. Ivy rode on for ages, with breaks in between, not thinking once that she would have to get back soon for lunch. She only realised how far she must have ridden Debutante when she arrived at the top of a hill overlooking a small village.
The Bellamy estate was hours away from any other form of settlement. The small girl stared at the village, eyes wide. She knew she could find her way back, but it would take hours, and both she and Debutante were tired. They needed to rest. But where to find a place to go? There was grass here on the hill, yes, but her horse needed water, and Ivy needed food - something that would most likely only be found in the Muggle settlement below. Now, she wasn't prejudiced against Muggles as her parents were. Lillian had taken her out (secretly, of course) to Muggle London enough times for her to know that they were not all bad. But Ivy was scared. Who to ask? She led Debutante around the village aimlessly. Some people looked at her curiously, but most of them left her alone. Lunch had passed already, judging by the clock that loomed over the houses.
It looked like Ivy was in trouble.

May was a happy seven year old, still not knowing that she was a witch, at that age.
For now, she was a normal Muggle, like all the rest.
She had finished school early, and she rode with her bicycle down the stony road.
But no, she stopped dead there.
Lots of horses galloped every day through that street, and May was used to that. But seeing a seven year old girl doing so? May was bemused. She was staring at her. She had never seen that girl. Not in school, or in the town.
"Hello!" May said happily, as she had finished staring at the girl. At that time, May wasn't shy. She was lively and brave, and couldn't stop talking to people.
The girl [Ivy] seemed troubled by something. She looked the same age as May.
"Which school do ya go to? I go to the public one down there,"
May really wanted to know, but could only think that, that girl had something special.
May had never seen her in the village, or anywhere, and she was very used of seeing all the kids playing down the street, even the ones in the private school.
May kept a smile on her face as she asked the girl those questions, her anormally white hair in a pony tail.

A small, curious voice alerted Ivy to a young girl standing beneath her, staring up at her with a slightly confused expression on her face as she greeted her. Ivy wasn't quite sure what to make of her, but she knew the only way she was possibly getting any chance of resting was being nice, so she smiled and expertly dismounted Debutante.
"Hello." She frowned at the girl's mention of schools and looked down the road. It wasn't difficult to see where the school was, with all the kids spilling out of the gates and chatting.
"I don't go to any school. I'm taught at home," she responded, turning back to look at the girl. "I'm Ivy. Do you know anywhere we could rest? Debutante's tired and so am I." She stroked her exhausted horse's neck. It had been foolish of her not to pack any snacks, but she'd been in a rush to get out of the Manor.
Ivy looked down and noticed what the other girl had been riding on for the first time. She had no idea what it was called, and stared at it, eyes wide. "What's that?" Ivy pointed at it. "How does it work?"

May was still staring at the girl, tho she still had a smile on her face.
May was startled when she replied. When the girl got off her horse, May got off her bike.
"Hello, I don't go to any school. I'm thought at home" the brown haired girl said, "I'm Ivy. Do you know any place we could rest? Debutante's tired, and so am I. Ivy said, as she stroked her horse.
"Oh, I go to the public school. Did I already say that? May replied, giggling. "Well, there's my house. My mum and dad are t at home. Dad is at the Mayors house, and my mom is at a tea party at Mrs. Cooking. You know who Mrs. Cooking is, right?" May asked with indignation. Who didn't know the old rich lady over the hill?
"Anyways, I have a little house were we could rest. And I could get some food from the fridge, too. Oops, sorry. I'm May. " May said, and turned a bit red when she realized that she had forgotten to present herself. She picked up her bicycle, and told Ivy to follow her.
"What's that? How does it work?" Ivy asked. Immediately, May stopped dead, and said,
"Y-you don't know what a bicycle works? Or...is?. Her eyes were wide.
"Well, you just push and peddle. And you need a bit of balance at least." May replied, still surprised that Ivy didn't know what a bike was.
"What is your favorite food? I like French fries." May said, as she kept peddling through the stony road. She wondered if Ivy didn't know what frenchfries were too. quote]

This girl was very chatty, but Ivy could take it. She was a little like her younger sister, Alison, who was always talking, unlike Ivy. Alison never seemed to know when to talk and when she should zip it, and it was simultaneously her best and worst quality. Guilt flashed through Ivy at the thought of her. She hadn't thought to tell Alison that she was going out that morning, and the younger Bellamy would be confused and upset to find Ivy gone.
Ivy turned her focus back on the other girl, who was now asking if she knew who 'Mrs Cooking' was. Her brow furrowed in confusion. "I'm sorry, who? Sorry, I'm not from here. I live hours away, in that direction." She pointed in the direction from which she had come from.
At the other girl's suggestion, she nodded gratefully. "That would be great!" She mounted her horse again and looked down at the girl now known as May, ready to get going. "Where is it?" Although... "What's a fridge?" Probably a Muggle thing - Ivy had never heard of it before.
She blushed slightly at the disbelief shown on May's face at her question. Judging by the incredulous way that she spoke, what a 'bicycle' was, as she had called it, and how it worked was supposed to be common knowledge. Still, the pureblood kept a smile on her face as the other girl demonstrated how to use the bicycle.
It seemed awfully complicated to Ivy, but it was also rather fascinating. Ivy clicked her tongue and Debutante began to trot alongside May, only partly watching the road ahead of her, her eyes focused on the way she pushed the bicycle forward. Once again, a frown appeared on her face at the mention of yet another unfamiliar topic. "I don't have a favourite food. What are French fries?" she questioned. Ivy was beginning to feel a little stupid for not knowing all this stuff.

May was impressed. This girl didn't know what a bike was.
Is that girl from another planet?
May couldn't stop staring at Ivy as thought she was a extraterrestrial.
"B-but then why are you all alone? My mum and dad wouldn't let me go to the forest alone. Tho I really enjoy going in secret," May said with a little giggle. She was a very good friend of animals, like foxes and bunny 's.
May stopped abruptly when Ivy said "What's a fridge?". Her eyes widened.
"You know, I better show you...." May said, her eyes still wide with surprise. How did this girl conserved her food? With a wand? With a potion? Well, yes, that did exist. But May still didn't believe it.
Her sister had gone to Ilvermorny school of 'witches' and 'wizards'. But May did t believed that.
Tho she had seen her wand and everything.
May didn't think that she, Ivy was a witch. Plus, if she asked, she might get offended.
"Frnch Fries?! Are you joking?! They are the best food in the world!!!" May said, and the last moment, she was laughing so hard that she couldn't hold her bike.
When they lastly arrived at Mays home, May told Ivy to wait in the door. She didn't want her mother and father to see a girl that didn't know what a bike and a fridge was. They would faint instantly.
"Coast is clear, come." May said, and opened the door so that Kvy could come in.
"What does Debutant like? And, what do you like?" May asked as she opened the fridge. "Oh, and this is the fridge. It's something humans use so that our food don't putrificate." May said as she nodded fondly. "But if you're not a human, then it's impossible for you to know what it is..." and she raised a eyebrow.

Ivy shrugged, not really wanting to reveal the real reason behind her motives. She didn't really want to talk about Lillian right now. "I just wanted to go for a ride today. My parents don't mind." That wasn't... entirely true. But then again, it wasn't entirely false, either. Ivy had no idea what they thought about her going out this morning; she had only alerted some of the maids, who had only nodded at her. Her father was probably at work already, and her mother... her mother had still been asleep when Ivy had left.
May's laughter made Ivy blush again, and the feeling of stupidity rose again. Still, she smiled politely; the tension in her shoulders growing a little. Relax, she told herself. It's just a little Muggle girl. And besides, it'll be bad for riding... Debutante was weary enough without having to carry a stiff rider. Ivy let her shoulders drop. "How much further is your house?" she asked - not because Debutante was tired, but also because she wanted to get off the topic of these strange Muggle things May kept mentioning.
Not much further, apparently. May told her to wait by the door, and Ivy dismounted her horse as the other girl went inside. She cast her gaze around the property. It was rather small, wasn't it? Or maybe it was large, but Bellamy Manor was huge. Ivy thought back to her and Lillian's secret London expeditions. There were tall buildings, with tiny rooms stacked on top of each other. Compared to that, May's house was quite big.
The other girl returned soon, opening the door for her. Ivy looked at Debutante worriedly, then back at May. Where was her horse supposed to go? "What about Debutante?" She looked around and tied her to the fence expertly, with the reins tied in a steady knot to the wood. The pureblood stroked the horse's neck again. "I'll be back soon, Deb. Just wait." Then Ivy followed May inside of the house.
She watched as May opened what appeared to a large cupboard... but when there was cold air coming out of it. Not like the wind, but how the air hangs on a winter morning. Ivy eyed it carefully, trying to work out how Muggles could manage to build something like that without magic. "Debutante may have carrots, and I can have anything," she responded. Ivy listened to May's next words. Ah, so this was the fridge. She turned back to May, blinking at her accusing tone. "I'm not a Muggle, if that's what you're implying," she said, unable to help herself. "I'm magical."
