Valour was on her feet now, heavily invested in the game at hand. Lena had eyes on the snitch, Damien’s shots were blocked by Denise, Astal was hurtling down to earth at break-neck speed. It all seemed to be going awry, and yet hope reared its head

As Max and Zephyr had ducked low, swerving in the direction of Prat, she could already feel her instincts burning with alarm. Before she could yell out a warning to her unsuspecting upperclassman, Max was taking a swing at him directly with his bat. Valour had half a mind to draw her wand then and there, but Pass handled himself well. He caught wind of the boy’s attempt and plunged out of the way just in the nick of time.

Max and Zephyr frankly looked ridiculous riding the same broomstick; it was unfathomable how they managed to get anything done, as shown by their poor attempt at a foul. Vetra yelled out their punishment, a penalty lap for the two on their single broom, straining under their combined weight. Valour could not help but grin with smug satisfaction as Zephyr struggled to maintain balance.

“Serves you right.” There was no point raising her voice to heckle them. Valour was quite sure they could feel her glaring daggers at them from down below.

It was the usual, compared to most rounds. Denise was guarding like usual, doing better than usual.

In the corner of her eyes, she watched Max and Zephyr, rather wary and knew that trouble was coming. She sensed it and she was right.

Both are rather fine on their own, obedient usually, but together, they seemed to cook up some trouble. She watched as Max, on Zephyr's broom and how did he convince Zephyr to agree to this obvious foul Denise had no idea.

There Max goes, attempting a big whack. She saw Ebony Vetra, the referee look and oh dear. At least the big whack work... she hated Prat Pass, how he knocked out poor Elisa and Denise looked on away from the post for the first time, eager and ready to see out. Maybe the foul is worth it...

The foul wasn't worth it. Prat Pass, that cocky brat, dodged with ease making Denise feel rather upset. But of course, Max and Zephyr got caught, and now, they were ordered to do a penalty lap. Denise glared at Prat Pass as he passed by somewhere.

Whack!

Denise winced, hoping it wasn't Zephyr, Max or Laasya, but to her delight, Laasya managed to knock down the other beater, whoever that was. She smirked in delight, well it was cruel, but at least. They are all down to one beater: Prat Pass. And he was rather a pain, wasn't he?

That damn brat. Denise thought.

Finally, Poppy managed to spot the snitch. Denise smiled in triumph and happiness... Clearly, the game cannot last this long. She did not want this game to last three months, which was apparently the longest Quidditch game to last. The game ending only if the snitch has been caught or if only the beaters are remaining would take a rather long time.

Well, unfortunately, Elena Clark, the other seeker, spotted the snitch too. How annoying, but it's progress. As much as Denise enjoyed playing this game, she would love this to end as well.

Well, luck was not on The Golden Phoenix's side.

Rafal Devereux, who literally just completed his penalty lap the previous round, blatched Persephone Grimsbane, forcing her broom to go a distance away.

Poor Poppy was far away from Elena Clark. Denise felt furious. How dare he?

She would love to smack him, throw a shoe at his face as he shamelessly went off to do his penalty lap, but Denise has to watch ahead. Guard, she can't show off her anger that easily.

At least both teams got 10 points. And to her delight, Laasya Manjunath managed to bludger Damien, well, at least that made up for it, sort of, but Denise would still love to throw her shoe at that dirty cheater.

With how obvious his foul had been, there really was no reasoning with being given a penalty lap. He wanted things to be fair after all, and if jerk face on the opposite team had to do penalty laps for fouls, he should manage one too. What he felt bad for was dragging Zeph down with him. «Let’s just get it over with, yeah?» He commented as they flew off.

Sharing a broom was more wobbly than he had imagined. The slightest movement made it feel like the world was tilting around them. Granted, that could also be from the concussion he was pretty sure he had. But still, it was annoying. Zeph steered them like a champ, despite what felt like a frustratingly slow pace.

That gave him the opportunity to keep an eye on the rest of the game. Whats his name mr jerk face went once again for a foul, and this time against sweet Poppy of all people! Max ground his teeth, and turned his attention elsewhere. To his delight his team managed to score, but sadly it was followed by a goal from the other team. Well, they were still 30 points in the lead, that was good at least!

With joy he even saw Poppy enter the fight for the quaffle. She didn’t do half bad either! Not actually getting a hold of it, but he was sure it was helpful nonetheless. The quaffle was all well and good, but what he really wanted to see where the beathers. Pass trying to backbeat Laasya, but Max drew a breath of relief as the redirected it. A triumphant yell escaped him as the bludger hit true on the ravenclaw chaser. «You ready mate? We’re gonna kill this round!» He yelled out to Zeph, wanting someone to share in his delight and sorrows.

In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice at disadvantage (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself). To Bludger Or To Be Bludgered

Wait a second what was that noise? Laasya looked back and found out that one of the second string players on the Thunderbolts was booing her. Honestly, she bludgered a person and now they start booing her? She tried to ignore it but as she flew, the boos kept following her, and they tried to disorient her. She’d have to ignore those players and get on with the game. And to her horror, she found that filthy cheater Rafal blurting Poppy. And unlike the other times where he failed miserably he actually managed to succeed. And poor Poppy was much further away from the snitch than before, when that cheater didn’t ruin everything. To her delight, she heard the referee call out Rafal for a foul and he had to do another penalty lap the next round. And she made a comment on how he should improve on his cheating. Laasya smirked as the game continued. At this point he should just help Damien on the quaffle as his not getting caught attempts were going rather horribly. Speaking of the quaffle, Harlan and Damien both managed to score 10 points each for their team. Laasya’s team was in the lead; by 30 points. So they were to be careful about that snitch. If Elena Clark caught it, the game would end and those Thunderbolts would win. And then she noticed a bludger, send by Prat Pass send through a backbeat headed right to her. However, she was determined not to let it hit her. She managed to intercept the incoming bludger and swung it through the air. “Wham!!” The bludger had hit Damien and sadly for him, he couldn’t evade it. He was still in the air though.  Laasya lowered her bat, feeling satisfied. She had managed to stay alive and nobody else had fallen down to their doom. But these Thunderbolts would be up to something next round.
