1) At this point in the school year, Dido is not thinking at all clearly about people (especially Ravenclaws) and while everything said is true in her own belief, she is often very wrong/skewed.
2) The emotions described are not the intensity Dido truly feels as that would probably require some sort of intervention. Instead, they depict how Dido feels her emotions feel like. If that makes sense.
3) Dido is absolutely ignorable.
4) Thanks for reading!
As the introduction to both the meteor shower and the evening started to tail off with the prefect beginning to answer specific questions about the Lyrids, Dido became slightly lost as what she should do.

She couldn’t risk the tent, that much was obvious. The very idea of coming face to face and speaking to Tina sickened Dido, leaving her pale, though her pallor had started as soon as she had seen the Ravenclaw earlier in the evening. Dido also couldn’t, or at least wouldn’t, stay too long at any one section, a feeling not unsimilar to fear preventing her from taking the risk of Tina’s arrival. So, she hovered and wandered anxiously around the fires, occasionally grabbing un-toasted marshmallows, if only to give her hands something to do besides pinch the skin near her neck. Dido felt like a butterfly- or a moth- darting from lampshade to lampshade or, in this case, bonfire to bonfire, all while chewing her lip and taking rushed glances in Tina’s direction.

The evening seemed be progressing as best it could given the situation, despite the building stinging and cloying sensation in Dido’s nose and the hollow pain in her stomach. Right up until she saw them.

As Dido rounded a tent, narrowly avoiding a poorly hammered-in peg in the process, she looked up, ready to make her occasional check of Tina’s whereabouts. And Dido’s eyes widened. And her skin grew clammy. And her nose stung. And her hand pinching her skin shook.

Before her was a sight that would stay with Dido for months, if not years, after: Tina Carille, who’s placement in a circle directly faced Dido; Professor Townsend, the teacher who Dido failed in front of every single Charms lesson; and, only a little while past them, Elena Clark, the Ravenclaw Prefect, the perfect example of someone Dido could never, ever become.

The feeling that hit Dido was worse than fear, worse than anger, worse than embarrassment. In fact, the only way it could have been worsened would have been if Dido fully understood the feeling. The fear which had earlier made her jittery and anxious now attacked her and staked her to the ground, pinning back the butterfly’s wings with a cruel sharpness.

It boiled up inside her, scorching her from the inside-out and tearing out chunks of heart and soul as it bubbled through her veins, blazing into her brain and squeezing its way out of her skin. Her hands clutched at her neck, her face, her hair. A silent scream wailed from her mouth, distorting her expression into a horrific portrait of horror.

What is this? Why? WhyWhyWhyWHy? WhatdidIdo? Whowhatwhynotme? Notme Not me I didn’t I couldn’t it’s not menot me i know. Not me. i i i i. no not me. I didn’t I never no no. why what how-

The thoughts rocketed inside Dido, crashing into every semblance of reason and grace and elegance the girl could muster until, at last, they overcame the walls which protected Dido and sent her down to her knees against the tent, crouched over and clutching herself fiercely in equal parts terror, anger and self-detestation.

During all of this, the stars glared down at Dido, delighting in their ability to profess judgement on this frightened child.

It was fun, laughing around the campfire with friends again. Next to me was Elena Clark, the Ravenclaw Prefect, and Professor Townshend. Cracking jokes, telling stories, singing songs were all things I missed. And I took a look over at Dido. She was alone, slumped up against our tent. Something inside me broke. I put aside that fear and my pride and decided to be the bigger person. I carefully excused myself from the campfire and put my plate there to save my spot. I brought two s'mores with me just in case Dido wanted one. I slid down to the side of the tent where Dido was sitting. I looked up the stars with her. They were beautiful but they also seemed to glower down at us. Knowing the exact things that would make us cry. We stayed like that for a bit. "The stars are quite beautiful aren't they?" I asked softly not wanting to scare Dido. "Hey, it's ok." I said trying to comfort Dido. I looked at this girl, I didn't see someone who was a monster, or someone who was crazy. I almost laughed, I saw myself. Someone who held themselves up to high expectations. Someone who tried to be the perfect daughter, someone who needed to prove themselves. I scooted closer to her and just sat there. Sometimes just being there is enough.

At first, when the Lyrid Meteor Shower event was announced and are open for sign-ups, Aurora wasn't that interested. But after listening to the droning murmurs of excitement from the other students in the common room, saying it will be a 'fun camping moment', she immediately put up her name as well. They were told that they will be sleeping in tents for the night, and so she dragged asked her lovely friend, Elwyn, to join her. Aurora had known Elwyn to be very introverted, maybe more than her, but she was quite surprised when the boy enthusiastically agreed to her invitation.

After gathering in the Great Hall to count the group of students that will be joining, they make their way to the mountains in an orderly manner. The two friends were chatting happily, although Aurora was struggling slightly to hike due to her shoes. Elwyn on the other hand, kept on firing questions like bullets. “Do you think there’s gonna be food there? Is this going to be somewhere where there are animals around? What’s a Lyrid?” It was obvious to see that the usually shy boy was enjoying himself. For a moment, Aurora felt very glad she asked the boy to come with her. "I also have a very important question." The girl starts, making a serious voice at Elwyn. "Do aliens exist?" She snorts, failing to stay serious asking such a ridiculous question. The two dorks kept on talking and chatting, before the troop finally arrived at the clearing. It was safe to say that the view was absolutely amazing. The trees, the skies, the moon, all blending in together in harmony, as if it came out straight from a beautifully made acrylic painting.

Elena Clark, Aurora recognized as a second year Ravenclaw, explained in details about how the meteor showers come to be. She informed that most metor showers was a result from debris left behind by passing comets. It was truly a fascinating fact to know, the Ravenclaw prefect even opened up reference books to show illustrations and pictures. It's amazing how passionate she is to share what she loves to the other student. Aurora slowly drowned out the talking and questions asked by the other students to look up. Starts littered strategically across the wide sky. How strange it is to think that what was considered as dusts in space can turn into something extraordinary when seen from Earth. She pondered for a while what else could be out in the big space.

She tuned back in when Elwyn began talking to her. The girl leaned close to the boy to inspect the book. “Woah..Look! That one looks so bright. Have you even watched one before? I haven’t." Elwyn looked at her with curious eyes and fixed his glasses. "No, i haven't either. Where I live was always bright, so it's really difficult to see stars at night." She continued to look at the pictures in the book "But at my grandparents house, the stars were quite clear, but not as clear as this."She said in awe again before looking up at the stars again. She eyes the other students, mingling with their friends, whether laughing around the bonfire or studying the books. Aurora felt such good vibes from the moment, she smiled softly at Elwyn.

“It doesn’t taste bad, I thought it would taste like slug but it doesn’t." The boy offered her the pack of jelly slugs, which she gladly accept. She popped the sweet soft candy into her mouth and hum in approval. "How do you know what slugs taste like?" At the girl's question, Elwyn softly laughs. "It’s still weird though, who thought about making something like this?” He popped another jelly. "Someone who really loves jellies and slugs, probably."

They set up their tents for the night together, with occasional grunts from Aurora since its her first time setting up one. The Gryffindor girl trailed behind Elwyn as he wondered off to a clearing. She looked one time again to the moon, and sighed in contentment. "It's so nice out here. I love it." It was probably because of continuous studying in the stuffy dormitory, that she felt really happy to get to suck in fresh air through her nostrils. Stretching her arms up for a while, she slowly sat down to marvel at the night sky before the meteor shower happens. Elwyn slowly followed and sit close beside her. "Do you know, my dream was to be an astronaut when i was like five years old i think? It's quite funny to look back."

The Grounds
XXXThe evening had barely begun, and Eonaria was already so very tired. She had made the trek all the way to the campsite with her best friend Brie, and while it had started off exciting, filled with stories and fun facts, her energy slowly tapered off into a snail's crawl. She had half-heartedly participated in the finishing cheer with a "yay!" of her own, though it lacked much enthusiasm. She then thanked and declined Brie's water bottle and half-melted chocolate, as she had water of her own and wasn't the biggest fan of chocolate.

XXX"Good luck!" Eonaria called after the Ravenclaw as she hurried off, a simple courtesy. "Don't run into any trees." The trees were indeed a viable obstacle once the sun withdrew its light. She looked around for a good place to sit down as the sky rapidly darkened.

XXXHuddled near one of the bonfires, the heat washing over the students made her feel even more drowsy. Somewhere ahead of her, she could hear one of the professors-- which one, she had no idea-- offering to show techniques to roast marshmallows, while another told stories from Greek mythology at a different bonfire. Yes, she could open her eyes and properly pay attention, but it was already taking a lot of energy to just remain upright and not topple into the flames. It'd wake me up, but getting roasted is not on my bucketlist. It would also ruin her hair, which probably shouldn't be that high on her list of priorities. Perhaps her schoolwork had finally taken a toll on her.

XXXEonaria knew multiple of her friends were here aside from Brie, and while that would usually cause her to jump for joy, there would be no jumping tonight. She just wanted to go to sleep. Whether that be tucked away in her own dormitory or out here under the stars in a flimsy tent, she didn't care all that much. An owl hooted in the distance, and the crickets' chirping carried on under the muted yet excited chatter of students all around.

XXXShe almost wished she could go back up to the castle and curl up under the blanket, but then she would miss the meteor shower, and that would a complete tragedy. Eonaria had to stay up! For the meteors! Missing it would defeat the entire purpose of coming all the way out here, and likely garner some scoldings from Brie.

XXXShe blinked her eyes open with a sigh, squinting against the brilliant flames. Perhaps it would do her good to step away from the campfire, whose heat was beginning to sear uncomfortably. Eonaria got up from her seat, stretching her legs and arms with a sigh. It still felt like she could nod off at any moment, and she did not fancy faceplanting in the dirt in front of her peers. She took a short walk around, still idly listening to the story about Orpheus, the cold air brushing her arms...

XXXThe sun had set hours ago, the stars already twinkling in the sky as usual. Eonaria didn't know what to do while she waited. She was tempted to return to the tent she had picked out, but that posed a high risk of falling asleep and sleeping right through the event. Speaking of tents, she had taken a tentative peek into the Muggle-style ones and had been unnerved by how utterly constrained by space it was. If you wanted space, the tent had to actually take up that space. She didn't like it. Eonaria nibbled on the selection of snacks idly, not bothering to toast her marshmallows. Raw marshmallows were perfectly delicious, thank you very much. She hummed a few half-formed tunes, the melodies occasionally blending into each other between transitions.

Birthdays were never that special for the little seer. Since being an only child, she did enjoy the perks of getting all the attention, so she never had to celebrate her birthday. All these years, she got gifts of all sizes and amounts, but this, this was the best gift ever.

Ava was having the greatest day already, her best friend gave her a surprise birthday party she did not expect, and now another special event to make her day into something she could never forget. The Lyrid Meteor Shower.

When the sign-ups were first posted a weekend prior, she was just too excited; she ran to Marcella, knowing very well her best friend would love to watch it.

Both the Ravenclaws gathered in the Great Hall for the head count to begin their journey. They later, made their way to the Hogwarts grounds, Taros, the groundskeeper, giving them information about different types of plants and creatures based on their habitat. She wished she could bring Nimbus with her, but the cat was a bit too moody for a night out, so she let him rest up in her dorm.

They soon reached their destination, where the sun was near setting. The seer saw there were many tents both wizarding and Muggle ones. The Muggle ones, are what she was used to, to occasional wizarding tents she used when she went out with her long-distance cousins.

Ava and her father had a tradition of going camping, a perk of living in the countryside. Her father always told her different stories about the Wizards he was told when he was growing up, passing her, the lineage of magic.

The girl turned to her best friend, "Which one you want to choose?" She asked her, motioning towards the pile of different tents. Once they chose the tents, they started working on setting it up. Ava was used to letting her dad do the work, but this time, she and Marcella both set it up together.

As summer was vastly approaching at the edge of May, a huge troop of students had gathered in the Great Hall after classes to march together to the surrounding mountains with the hopes of witnessing a rare celestial phenomenon. Among them was Camille, who had signed up at the last minute in lieu of better ways to spend his time. The French boy appreciated picturesque scenery as much as the next person. Although he was far from as passionate about the stars and the galaxy beyond than, say, Damien, he imagined that it would be a quite beautiful sight, not to mention a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, to witness the meteor shower.

What he was more skeptical about, however, was tents. If there was one thing Camille had learned from his experience in Russia, it was that camping was serviceable only if there was an actual bed to sleep in. Well, he’d also learned to not keep hidden allegiances from his best friend, unless he wished to be reduced to singing the part of a servant in front of the student body, which, admittedly, had not been the worst outcome after his betrayal. His punishment could have been much, much worse. In hindsight, Camille had gotten out relatively unscathed. Only a negligible amount of embarrassment lingered in his body, a week after the performance. When he’d been so kindly informed by Elena—who was a part in organizing the whole outing—that there would be wizarding tents for those who preferred comfort, Camille had abandoned the last of his reservations for the sake of some novelty.

He saw more than one set of familiar faces on the walk there, some he was less than pleased to see, though he’d attended alone, expecting to make minimal conversation throughout the evening. He’d brought along a few magazines in case time passed excruciatingly slow. Esme appeared to have no interest; otherwise he would probably have shared a tent with her. The only other person in attendance that he’d consider a friend would be kept occupied. Elena was, after all, in charge of some kind of bonfire where students gathered to learn more about the phenomenon. He reckoned he’d see little of her, unless he decided to join that lecture. Camille found the result more interesting than the fine details. The rest were randoms he did not care to correspond with; hence why, as soon as they’d arrived at the destination, he took the Groundskeeper's advice literally by first scouting the tents to claim the most promising one, before the comfortable ones were taken by others— and hopefully before he would have to share with strangers.

Once the night sky had begun to settle and midnight approached, Camille reappeared from the comfort of his tent to find a seat on the mountain platform. It didn’t appear that he’d missed anything of importance while he was gone. For someone who had come for the scenery, he had spent a laughably short amount of time actually admiring it. Clusters of students and a few solitary figures were scattered about. If he wished to sit completely isolated while still getting a good view, there were not many options left, the most obvious being in the furthest edge which was currently occupied by Xiang. The girl appeared to be scribbling something down in a notebook. Judging by her posture, she’d wished to be alone, too. He would have been surprised if anyone had tried to infiltrate her private space and the walls she’d reinforced around herself, which he, unexpectedly, felt inclined to do at that moment.

Camille hesitated. The relationship between the two of them could be considered courteous at best. The girl was a special sort, so to speak. But, he remembered her and her partner's figure skating routine, mostly because they had been the only thing standing between him and the gold medal, so she clearly had some talents beyond pushing people away. He decided to pay his congratulations, even if it had been months since the competition, and even longer since they’d last spoken.

“Xiang,” he greeted her, calmly. “I didn’t have the chance to speak to you in Russia.”

In all actuality, he had probably felt little desire to, but that was besides the point.

“I suppose I ought to congratulate you on the figure skating results. The judges were right; your costumes were beautiful. Swan Lake… He smiled vacantly, gaze flitting down to his shoes when he let out a miniscule chuckle. “Well, as you can imagine, I am rather fond of the classics.” It must not have escaped anyone that anything in the realm of the arts, and ballet in particular, resonated with him.

She’d likely question his intentions, but Camille had since long decided that he was satisfied with his silver medal. His intentions were entirely sincere.

Denise has been stargazing before, especially back in her home at the rural village of Comrie near the southern Scottish highlands. Well, she has been camping rather and looked at the stars, but if you ask her to name them, she would falter rather than name them. Is stargazing an art? Denise doesn't really consider it as such, but she is open to changing her mind.

Well, there Denise stood, in the Great Hall with Ophelia Vanderblit and Laurie Holmes, two girls she didn't exactly know well, but never too late to make friends. A man came forward and introduced himself as Taros Quintero, a Groundskeeper. Denise had to wonder what a Groundskeeper does; do they just make sure students don't sneak out at night?

And everyone, in their respective groups, clustered around one another and made their way through Hogwarts Grounds to the mountains near the castle. Denise explored the mountains around her village but never really the castle itself, since it was usually forbidden.

Professor Quintero, or was Denise supposed to refer to him that way, spoke about the different plants and history of the land, which Denise was rather interested in, being a muggle-born and being unfamiliar with magic herself.

"Have you ever seen a meteor shower?" Ophelia Vanderblit asked. She looked excited, unlike Denise, who was rather nervous. For some reason, Denise noticed she had an unconfigurable expression. guilt?

"No, but I did see a few shooting stars before with my grandmother when we went camping sometimes." Denise responded, "My hometown is actually Comrie, a village in the southern Scottish highlands near Hogwarts, so the climate and the stellar atmosphere are rather similar, I guess..."

There was still an awkward air around the three girls, since Denise wasn't familiar with either of them.

She felt rather bad for the animals nearby, as the loud and boisterous Hogwarts students, well, she felt everyone was rather loud, marched on, and arrived at the beautiful mountains.

Soon, they arrived. Denise wondered which tent to choose. She loved camping, but the wizarding one sounded great. As much as she loved nature, she wasn't exactly the most passionate about sleeping with bugs and debris. "How does the standard wizarding one sound?" Denise asked.

Soon, nighttime has fallen, and bonfires have been lit. Denise melted a marshmallow, at least she attempted, but was too scared to come close and didn't want to light her marshmallow in the fire. Prefect Elena Clark stood, discussing the meteor shower, called the Lyrid Meteor Shower. It was apparently rare. One of the librarians, Madame Donkas, added on, saying she watched it for every year it was present in her life.

Was the Lyrid Meteor Shower present when Denise was born? During her childhood, from as a baby till her acceptance to Hogwarts, did it happen? Denise did not know at the moment. She was itching to look it up, but there were no books present, only tents and bonfires.

She wanted to talk to the other girls, but being an introvert herself, she didn't know how to start... And at that nervous thought, Denise saw her marshmallow light on fire...

She quickly blew it off and waved it around, with the fire dying quickly and the smell of burnt marshmallow fluttered in the air.

Ophelia hummed as Denise talked about her village, and nodded when they arrived at the camp at her question. A wizarding tent sounded good, since Ophelia wasn't very fond of bugs and wouldn't mind knowing how a wizarding tent varied from a normal Muggle tent.

Gathering with her company around Elena's bonfire and listening to her talk about the "Lyrid Meteor Shower". Ophelia made sure to take note of her questions and ask them after Elena had finished explaining, so that she didn't interrupt her. Later, when she found it the appropriate time to ask her, she approached the older girl and did so, "Possibly a dumb question, but you mentioned that we might be able to see 10 to 15 Lyrids per hour. For how many hours are they visible?"

After she got the answer to her question, she thanked Elena and walked to another bonfire with Denise. Librarian Helen Doukas was telling the story of an Olympian. Perhaps they were there in the middle of the story, but Ophelia personally didn't mind it.

"What do you think about this story?" she whispered to Denise, loud enough for her to hear what she was saying, but quiet enough that she didn't interrupt the storytelling. She found the story quite interesting, having also had a slight interest in Greek Mythology, but never informed herself much about it -lazy, she was called by her father because of that.

I wasn't having a good streak. I'd blame it on the date.

It was just days away from... the day. My mom's death anniversary. The first one I'd have to spend alone.

And I wasn't even worried that much about me, I was fine. I had to be. No, I was worried about my pa.

He'd also have to spend the first day of may alone. And I had the feeling that it was not going to end well for neither of us.

But today I wanted to distract myself. Today, no ghost would haunt me. Today, I would go stargazing. A hobbie I had lost when I was a kid, but now, from the view of the school grounds at night, was possible.

Besides, it gave me a chance to talk with Sky about... well, everything we didn't have a chance to talk about. Like whatever happened before the ball, with our parents.

So now I was chatting with her while I took out my tent, a muggle one. We had both agreed on this, and my pa sent the tent to me after I told him what the activity was about. Besides, I hadn't had a camping night since... well, since we lost mom. She used to make campnights with me when I was a kid, just to fall asleep looking at the stars. I took all out of the bag and started organizing everything before setting it up.

"—No, and I swear over all my Saints, I was just about to throw up." I kept yapping, telling her about my last flying class. Sky was, probably, the second person in this world I trusted the most. Alive, at least. After months of friendship, I had already told her about my prodigy condition, my prior schools, and my weird fear of heights and flying.

"And you know what was worse? I go to dinner and there are coconuts. Coconuts, Sky. I really deserve a golden star just for not throwing all my breakfast right there and then." I pouted, finally, taking a break from my yapping session. We started talking about the ball, then it lead to the teachers, then the classes and now I was telling her how I almost passed out at class last friday.

Sighing, I stared at the unarmed tent. My mind flew back to the ball again. And the prior events.

After my pathetic crashout session, we came back to Hogwarts and didn't say a word about what happened. At the ball, we actively and successfully avoided the subject, but there was no way of doing so now. Apparently, his parents met my mom. Mom never talked to me about her life at the caste. Of course, she told me everything about it, but when I asked about her friends and life in here, she just sighed and told me those were good times. She never got into details.

I always wondered if that had something to do with the fact that her fingertips were always filled with ink, like she was always writing something in a hurry. She said it was for her journal. Would that be a lie, too?

Awkwardly, I cleared my throat.

"So, uh... have you..." I muttered, nervous. 'Just drop it already, Mikaela.' Said the annoying voice on my head that wasn't from mom or dad. The one who came up just days after that day. "Have you talked to your parents?" I finally asked, without looking at her. Instead, I decided to begin my work and lift up the tent.

Around us, a big variety of wizard and muggle tents were lifting up at the same time. Some students were with the teachers, some others were just eating around and laughing. I did a mental check to go grab a cookie before they ran out.

A sky full of stars.

Was that all astronomy was about? The stars and the moons and the planets and the constellations? The reading of star maps and the utilisation of the telescope? Apparently so, for these cosmic entities failed to capture Ebony Vetra’s interest. It all felt so distant — literally light years away — and it felt so futile and senseless to engage in studies regarding such faraway, far-flung notions. Notions, for they were just that: remote ideas, a concept of chunks of rock floating in outer space. How thrilling. The girl was quite positive that out there, above, was simply nothingness. A vast, ever-extending plane of blank and dark, end unreachable. It was, simply put, pointless to embark on astronomical queries, for when would it cease? When would curiosity become satiated? An insatiable quest for knowledge was better off never commenced. The Ravenclaw was more so rooted in the strange realities of the immediate, more proximate world that was before her.

Nonetheless, the brunette was present. The Lyrids Meteors shower. It had originally failed to pique her interest given its astronomical nature. But Ebony had to admit that upon realising it only presented itself once every sixty years, she became rather intrigued. Shooting stars. Stars that shoot. Shoot past, in fleeting ephemerality. A singular moment — dominated by blinding streaks that would briefly illuminate the dark of night — and then it would be gone. Gone until it presents itself again, likely beyond the transient human lifespan. Life is fleeting. Perhaps the meteors — though only burning pieces of dust in reality — could serve as a muse for her next splash of ink to be placed upon canvas.

Thus, here Ebony stood, amidst the astronomy-crazed children (for many were younger than her), observing… nature. She did not have a particularly intimate relationship with greenery, despite her mother’s herbological endeavours. Her mother’s work had in fact, conversely, served to discourage her from connecting with nature. However, now that she was up here, it was almost relaxing. The quaint scenery was almost tranquille: the light breeze was akin to an exhale, almost therapeutic in alleviating her stresses; the rustling leaves provided a sense of calm; the starlit canopy presented quite the picturesque view, pleasant to the eyes. Almost. It would have been, had she not been surrounded by the cacophony of teenage chatter that when jumbled together sounded like discordant screams to the brunette’s delicate eardrums. But for a second — a brief, untouchable moment — it was almost as if the chaos surrounding her was nonexistent, as if it was just her and the twinkling stars and the susurration of leaves.

Such peace, of course, ceased to last, for a voice sounded from beside. It was a foreign voice, one that rang at an unfamiliar timbre, but it spoke as though there was some degree of familiarity between the two of them. A furtive glance towards the direction of the voice revealed the identity of the speaker; beside her, striding along in tandem, was a fellow brunette whose sepia waves cascaded down her shoulders. The moonlight accentuated the girl’s features; strangely, the visage looked oddly familiar. And then it came to her — the girl had been one of the players in the Quidditch match that Ebony had hosted a couple weeks back, though a name failed to surface. The Ravenclaw had never been quite so good at placing names upon faces.

The stranger — acquaintance? — had embarked upon a long-winded ramble regarding the cosmos and mythologies and deities. It was certainly an… odd choice as a conversation starter, but who was she to judge? Ebony herself was far from an expert at striking conversation; it certainly was a skill. It was only upon the final notes of the girl’s stream of musings that the Ravenclaw paused to reflect on the content of discussion. “I don't personally believe in deities of that sort,” the girl had said. This was particularly resonant to Ebony; the notion that there was some sort of higher being manipulating the fates of so many was unfathomable. Such was also the reasoning behind the fifth-year’s rejection of Divination and those self-proclaimed “Seers”. Scammers, the lot of them. Fate wasn’t real.

The conversation now lingered in an awkward pause, the girl’s profound ruminations hanging in the air between them. They sure were thought-provoking, but Ebony was not so well-versed in externalising her musings. She typically preferred keeping them within herself; the discourse that took place within her mind — between her and herself exclusively — were of most intellectual insight. Simply for the sake of conversing with the girl situated at her side, she voiced some of the thoughts that were floating aimlessly within her head. “Deities? I don’t believe in them, either. And mythology… don’t you think it’s rather absurd, how fantastical it is? So far-fetched and out of this world, just like the cosmos. Look at the stars — they’re magnificent visually yet so distant. I feel that mythology is so preposterously rooted in these cosmic entities. Didn’t quite catch your name, by the way.”
