Time really flies! Cassie thinks as she enters the library. It has been a month since she hosted the first volunteer activity, when they cleaned the owlery. It was tiring but really fun. As a result, she has been looking forward to this week's activity for a long time. Over the past month, she is surprised to welcome many new members, who will probably join them in today's volunteer activtiy.

This month's volunteer activity is a bit different though. They will be cleaning the floor and the shelves of the library. This is a task provided by the librarian, Miss Doukas. The club members will be split in two. Those who knows the charm scourgify will be cleaning the minor infestations on the shelves, while the rest will be doing labour work by rubbing the floor with rags soaked in water.

As usual, Cassie brings cleaning tools herself for the members to use, these include rags, a bucket of water, protective gloves and so on. She also brings a new stack of badges to reward those who volunteers actively.

Entering the library, she soon meets Zephyr Deakin, the deputy head of the club, who will give out the tools and explain the rules with her. She can still recall how successful the game she designed for the last volunteer activity was. Thus, she has prepared another game for the club members, the rules are written on a piece of parchment which will be given to everyone upon their arrival.

The sun shone brightly in the afternoon sky, owls had been sent to the members of the Hogwarts Volunteer Club by Cassie Jiang, the club's head and founder, and possibly the most helpful and kind person Marcell has ever met. The champion of the angel ran through the hallways so she could go to her dorm and get dressed in time for the volunteer activity. She quickly got dressed in a short-sleeved white button-down shirt and high-waisted, wide-leg trousers in a deep, earthy olive green. She added a pop of colour to the outfit by wearing dark burgundy Mary Jane shoes. But something was missing...Aha! Marcella opened her jewellery box and took out the watch her maternal grandfather, Lorenzo, had gifted her. The clock ticked, and the time for the activity was coming closer minute by minute. Marcella, who did not want to be late like the last time, rushed to be on time.

She rushed to the Library, excited to know what the activity was this time. Marcella had enjoyed last week's volunteer activity despite it being kind of exhausting. Upon entering the library, she saw Cassie and Zephyr Deakin, the deputy head of the club.

"Hey, Cassie," she said, greeting the older girl with a bright smile. Marcella had not interacted with Zephyr as much as she had with Cassie. The only time she had seen him was when she came to volunteer with the HVC and in the odd classes here and there. "Hey, Zephyr", she greeted her fellow first-year. Guess this is a good time as ever to make some friends

She was soon given a piece of parchment with rules written on it. She read it diligently, "Ooh, a game? Can't wait to find something!" she said brightly.

Marcella, who had learnt the Scouring Charm in History of Magic, was excited to use the charm for the first time out of class. She decided to start by cleaning the minor infestations on the shelves. She moved to the shelf, which was infested and began to clean it. She pointed at the shelf, moved her wand in the shape of the letter 's' and said "Scourgify!", which didn't create light but instead created a soapy foam that scrubbed the infestation away from the shelf.

As she moved on to clean the other shelf, she noticed a piece of parchment. In excitement, she called out to Cassie.

The library was a haven to Denise, with it's ancient walls and rumbling making Denise feel like she's at home. She walked in, and seeing the head and deputy head of Volunteer Club, Cassie Jiang and Zephyr Deakin.

Denise also saw Marcella di Angelo as well, and she was handed a piece of parchment upon her arrival.

The parchment explained a fun game, where each team, placed in either team 1 or team 2 will try to find all pieces of parchment with the letters, "L", "I", "B", "R", "A", and "Y" tucked away in the shelves the members will clean. Denise was excited, another challenge. She's not usually competitive but after not getting the key last time, she wanted to this time.

Since she came after Marcella, she was placed in Team 2. Denise wasn't a fan of touching the floor, and cleaning it manually, she was already traumatized by cleaning the owlery with it's number of dead rats and mice.

On the shelves, Denise stood, and started cleaning, "Scourgify!" Denise recited and she watched as the soap studs cleaned the minor infestations on the shelves. Denise was proud, she cleaned many minor infestations in one shelf, and as she moved to another, Denise spots a piece of parchment on the shelf.

The afternoon sky was beautiful, the sun lighting up her path toward the library. Lily hadn't made any plans for the day and was afraid she would spend it bored, alone in her room. But luckily she got an owl yesterday from Cassie Jiang, one of the nicest people she met, she had welcomed Lily into this club openly. The owl had advertised to her that the Hogwarts Volunteer Club, the new club she had joined, was having an activity today at the library.

Right after lunch Lily had headed to her room to change. She decided to wear a casual top and pants that she wouldn't mind if it happened to get dirty during the cleaning. She also wore her badge that was given to her as she joined the club. Lily was now stepping into the library, the familiar scent of books wrapping around her. She loved the library, it was one of her safe spaces.

She saw Cassie Jiang, the founder, and Zephyr Deakin, the deputy head of the club, near the entrance and greeted them with a little wave of her hand. She was given a piece of parchment with the instructions. As she read it all carefully, she got more excited for the day. The activity was to clean the library, either clean the shelves with Scourgify or scrub the floor. Lily remembered learning the Scouring Charm in her History of Magic class earlier this year, so she headed toward the shelves.

The other part of the parchment mentioned a game. Lily was intrigued and loved this added twist of fun to the cleaning.

With her hair nicely tied back into a bun, gloves in hand she took her wand and starting cleaning. "Scourgify!" She whispered as she formed the letter 'S' with her wand. Soap erupted onto te shelf, clearing away the infestations.

She kept going for a bit while more members arrived. Suddenly, glancing up, Lily spotted a piece of parchement on the shelf.

Zephyr made sure to arrive early for the next volunteer activity of their club. The library always have that familiar smell of old paper and dust and it's always the same smell every time he would go inside and for some unfathomable reason, it felt comforting. He was already helping Cassie while waiting for the club members to arrive. In all the times he encountered the girl, she always have that prepared leader kind of energy, just like in their owlery activity. Who wouldn't forget that one, how messy, how tiring and how strangely satisfying it was afterward.

By now, he was well aware that magic was very useful but it's also not always predictable when you were still learning, especially in places like the library. One wrong spell could cause more problems than it fixed. They've prepared tools that would be useful for cleaning and his task was to help distribute them as needed. Looking around the library, the shelves were tall and definitely heavy. He liked libraries, everything is in its proper place. In the Muggle world, libraries were one of the few places where both sides of his life were quite similar. No magic required for order.

Hogwarts libraries were among the things he appreciated since his arrival at the school. Once the club members started arriving, he welcomed them with a smile and handed the things out to them. He turned his focus to the task at hand and gave them the tools required for today's activity. "Hello. Welcome to our next activity." He didn't forget to greet them as well, the last thing he needed was being called a snob when he's truly not.

The day was beautiful. Yesterday, I received a letter from Cassie Jiang, a fellow Ravenclaw, saying that today's activity would be on the library. So I spent the whole morning in here.

I had that awful habit of making plans the whole day just for an appointment of an hour. Let me be.

I read a book in the morning with a fellow classmate, Robin, and then, I was in this section.

When I finally arrived, I was given a parchment from Zephyr, a Hufflepuff one. There were already a few members from the club in here, already working.

Well, great. I had already learned the scourgify charm in class. I didn't want to do more muggle cleaning since my... Fluffy experience a few weeks ago. Anyway.

"Hello. Thank you very much." I just bowed my head at him and Cassie, I hadn't interacted a lot with them, but still. After he handed me the parchment, I started casting the spell and cleaning. I also took some advantage to read some titles and see what helped for me to make my homeworks and some regular readings, when, between some books, I found a piece of parchment.

I had read about a game in the parchment given to me. I called out to Cassie, in a whisper, showing the parchment to her.

"I was good. I was really good."

Through trial and error, Sabrina has found that larger events were more bearable when in presence of those she knew. A state she had, having retrieved into herself at the end of her last year at the magical school, far from achieved. To a point that, when making a mental list of friends she could lean on at such occassions, she only mustered up two to three names, making her situation pitiful. This trail of thought led her to deciding that she needed to get more involved with the student body. She's seeked out small student oraganised events here and there before, but to achieve her goal of becoming a social butterfly she needed something more permanent, consistent. And where better to get that than a club?

The one that peaked her ineterest was the volunteering club. Not only did the overall idea appeal to her, with the 'helping out' and 'sorting through things' aspects, but the fact that it was relatively small made it an ideal place to start. So, not even a week after signing up, her steps led the witch to the library, one of her favorite places in all hogwarts and the spot today's club activity would be taking place in. Relieved to find only a few people present, she made her way to them, 'Hi, I am Sabrina, Sabrina Lyons, Brie for short' she introduced herself to those she didn't know, offering a handshake to anyone who was interested. She seemed to arrive somewhat on time, or at least enough to still be seen as fashionably late, which would hopefully make a good first impression. Another good news was that there was one face she did recognize (@Zephyr Deakin), 'Hi Zeph, how are you?' she smiled at the hufflepuff. She couldn't yet consider the boy her friend, having seen him only enough times to remeber his name, or at least the shortened version of it, but his presence still helped to put her at ease. Surprisingly enough, the older girl beside him (@Cassie Jiang) had a similiar effect on her, even though they had yet to exchange words.

When the task and game were explained, the raven briefly wondered if she should attempt to iniciate an interaction with any of the present students. Getting to know others was the sole reason for her to join the club, afterall. As a response to this thought, her body put her in motion, steering her off to the nearest shelves, an automatic motion accompanied with a pick up of her heart beat.

She was dreadful at smalltalk, especially the one she herself started. Quickly running out of words of any substance, getting trapped in a loop of not being able to shut her mouth back having nothing else to say, turning into a broked, stuttering, nervously giggling judebox. A fate more awful than getting eaten by an agressive pygmy puff, and one she'd like to avoid.

Having something to do would not only help to busy her hands but also earn a solid ground to build any future conversation off of. Satisfied with the quiet justification of her cowardness, she nodded to herself, focusing on the task at hand. Having little experience with the spell she was about the use, often opting for the muggle way of cleanup in her day-to-day life, she decided it best to first move the books out of the way, in case they could soak up the magical bubbles. Scooting a pile of them into her arms, she attempetd to do just that, almost toppling over from their weight when putting them down. Thankfully, she managed to wrigle herself into stability, setting them down with a decent amount of gentleness and without harming them or herself in the process. However awkward, her movement rarely managed to make the raven redden with emberrasment in the way her words often did.

Wand raised, stance straight, the raven was about to cast the cleaning spell when her gaze caught on a contrastingly yellowish object laying on the wooden boards. Steping closer once more, she saw that it was a piece of parchment. Her first assumption was that it fell out of one of the pages that occupied the place just seconds ago, but upon further inspection she realised there was a letter on it, making it a piece of the game the presumed owner of the club had explained.

The last volunteer club meeting was a success. Diana helped out to clean the owlery, and was also able to see her owl, Khione, at the same time. That was a success for the young Raven. Today, Cassie had arranged another meeting, one week later, in the library. Unlike last week, Diana had entered the library later than she would've liked. Almost immediately, the familiar scent of old parchment and ink wrapped around her, grounding in a way she hadn’t expected. Compared to the owlery, the space felt calmer, less chaotic, though no less in need of care.

The first two people she saw when she entered the library were Cassie and Zephyr, but then she saw five other volunteers were there too. She gave a small nod in greeting, murmuring a soft, “Hi,” as she approached the club leader and deputy club leader. When the tools and parchment were handed to her, Diana took them carefully, her eyes scanning over the instructions with focused attention.

A game again. Her gaze lingered briefly on that part before shifting back to the tasks. The one in the owlery, she was unable to play, but maybe this one she'll be able to. But it depends on how many people can be a part of this new game. Diana wouldn't mind just cleaning the library if she had to—that was sorta why she was there.

Cleaning shelves with Scourgify—that, at least, she knew. It was familiar enough from lessons, and far less uncertain than trying to scrub everything by hand. Diana was thankful for learning this spell; it came in handy, especially in cases like this. Adjusting the gloves over her hands, Diana moved toward a quieter section of the shelves, naturally drifting a bit away from the larger clusters of students. She preferred it that way, less noise, more space to think. It wasn't that she didn't want to chat with the other members of the club, she just saw fit that she should clean in an area which was good for her preferences.

The shelves that stood around her were lined with older books, their spines worn and slightly dusty. Some sections had faint traces of infestation tucked between the wood and the books themselves. Diana paused for a moment, observing the pattern of it, as if mapping out where to start before actually beginning. Then she raised her wand and waved it to create an 'S' in the air as she said, "Scourgify.”

Diana knew she had successfully cast the spell because soft bubbles formed and spread across the affected area, dissolving the grime and residue with quiet efficiency. Diana watched closely, making sure the spell was doing what it was supposed to. When it cleared, she gently adjusted a few of the books, straightening them so they sat properly again.

She worked slowly, methodically, section by section, occasionally dipping a cloth into water to wipe away anything the spell had missed. As she was cleaning by both magic and the muggle way, Diana wondered how muggles lived without using magic to clean. Using magic to clean was a lot faster than doing it by hand.

Around her, she could hear others chatting, calling out, or reacting to the game, but Diana stayed focused on her own task. It wasn’t that she wasn’t listening; she always was. She always was. Listening and observing people were things she tended to do in her past. She noted the excitement in their voices, the small shifts in tone, the way energy picked up whenever someone found something.

A game like this… it helped. It made the work feel lighter. As she moved to the next shelf, Diana paused again, her eyes narrowing slightly. Something felt… off. Not wrong, exactly, just different. Being a Seer, things happened like this. Sometimes she just gets these feelings for no reason. However, this feeling seems real. Her gaze then drifted to a small gap between two books. There, just barely visible in the dim space between the spines, was something that didn’t match the muted tones of the shelf. A faint hint of color. Diana leaned in slightly, brushing a bit of dust aside with her gloved fingers. Diana Roberts spots a piece of parchment on the shelf.

Another month passes by, and the next volunteer activity arrives, this time at a place much more easy to clean, and much more beloved by the young Hufflepuff, the library obviously! The best part is there will be no dead mice or feathers, only dust and some insects at most, Harumi can deal with a couple of spiders.

----This time around Harumi, thankfully, wasn't late for the activity, she slept early the pervious night and woke up early today, she even had a few hours to spare that she spent studying Transfiguration, before finally making her way to the library excitedly. Who would have known cleaning could become something to look forward to, but with all the amazing club members there, it was only natural the young witch was excited to go.

----Upon arriving, she looked around to see who else arrived, she can see a couple of new faces. "Good Morning, everyone!" She greeted everyone before being handed a piece of parchment with some instructions. What's written on the parchment seemed to be the rules of a game, much like last time, Cassie planned out something fun. The older Ravenclaw really did know how to encourage everyone to do the most boring tasks, something Harumi admired about her by now. It's not too hard to make someone do something they hate, but it's very hard to make someone enjoy something they hate.

----Harumi didn't stand idle for long, she took the cleaning supplies from her fellow Hufflepuff, Zephyr, with a thanking smile, then off to work she went. She found herself walking to one of the shelves, after inspecting it, she started moving the books to a nearby table, the last thing she wanted is to ruin the delicate pages of those centuries old books by accident. Now that the shelves were empty, the girl took out her wand and moved it, forming an S shape. "Scourgify!" She muttered causing soapy foam to scrub the shelves getting rid of all the dust and infestations, she repeated the process a couple of times to cover the most area possible, as well as to make it extra clean, she wasn't going to settle for less than perfect, those lovely books deserved the best shelves to be put on.

----Having finished this shelf, she turned to returning the books to their place, getting distracted by the titles a couple of times when she saw a herbylogy book, but eventually all the books were back in their place, ready fo the next curious wanderer to open their pages and learn new fun things. She looked at the shelf right next to that one, ready to clean it like its sister, but before she could remove the books from it, she spots a piece of parchment on the shelf, it must be the one from that game, right?

As Diana moved closer to the next shelf, the shelf that had the piece of parchment on it, she couldn't help but have the feeling that something was off. Not a feeling of wrong, just different. Which caused her eyes to narrow slightly. Her gaze then drifted to where the parchment sat, in a small gap between two books. The parchment was folded, and it wasn't brightly colored or attention-grabbing like she might have expected from a game piece. Instead, it looked older. Softer at the edges, like it had been placed there with intention rather than hidden in a rush. Before reaching out, Diana hesitated. This piece could either be a game item or something completely different, and her Seer senses were guessing that it was something else.

Carefully, she slid it free, unfolding it just enough to glance at the contents. Her eyes scanned the writing briefly, just enough to realize it wasn't a part of the activity at all. Instead, it was a personal note that some student had left behind. She stilled for a moment. She was disappointed that she didn't find any game items, unlike the other club members. She had stopped cleaning for nothing. Nevertheless, just as quietly, she folded the note again and placed it in its original spot.

Once she put the note away, she went back to cleaning; her moments were as steady as they were before. A moment later, as she reached further along the shelf, something else caught her attention, this time a faint glint of color that stood out far more clearly against the wood. She hoped it was a game item this time. Diana Roberts spots a piece of parchment on the shelf.
