And So We Begin

open to interactionsIvy had very nearly been late, almost missing the train entirely, something rather uncommon for her family, as the Bellamys were very punctual and often ridiculously early. Having gone through the barrier and arrived at Platform 9¾ less than ten minutes ago, and boarded the train only five minutes ago, it could be expected that the girl’s cheeks were tinged slightly pink from the rush. Now, the small girl was squeezing her way through the crowded corridor to find a compartment to sit in, leather bag slung over one shoulder and long brown hair in braids. “Excuse me...” she muttered to the surrounding people. Honestly, why was it so crowded? Wasn’t everyone meant to be in a compartment?
About halfway through the train, Ivy found an empty compartment, one with “#23” spelled out in gold above the sliding door, and quickly slipped inside before anyone else could take it. She could not imagine the awkwardness that would ensue if she grabbed for the door at the same time. Thankfully, no one else seemed to have the same idea as her, and Ivy sat down on the velvety seat, setting her bag down beside her.
Now that she was sitting, she wasn’t quite sure what to do. Ivy had placed one of her textbooks in her bag so she could get ahead, but she didn’t especially feel like reading. She glanced out of the window, watching the beautiful landscapes race past. The sky was extraordinarily blue that day, and the sun was bright and hot, sunlight streaming into the compartment. Ivy was glad for the good weather - had it been rainy, her mood may have been spoiled and she would have been the most unpleasant person to speak to.
Unlike many of her peers, she wasn’t getting a fresh start at Hogwarts. Ivy’s surname was well-known in the magical world, and she had a lot to live up to. There was a certain kind of tension in the girl’s shoulders as she sat, as if there was a huge weight she was bearing. Or perhaps it was just because she had always been taught to sit up straight, like a lady, and such perfect posture was rather uncommon for a child at such a young age. Ivy sighed as she thought of how her parents had excelled so well at Hogwarts, and could only hope that she could do the same. No, ‘fresh start’ was not a good way to explain how Ivy was going to begin her first year at Hogwarts.
She looked to the sliding door once again, wondering if anyone would come in. Admittedly, it would be rather fun to have someone to talk to. If not, she had the landscape outside and a book to entertain her until she arrived at Hogwarts.

And So We Begin
The day had finally come that Fiona would be joining her three older siblings at Hogwarts. She hugged her parents and followed her sister into the train where she looked to see the extremely crowded row of compartments filled to the brim with children older than her. She didn't have long to admire the train for there were several people behind her that pushed her down the aisle and out of the way of the trains rather small entrance. The space seemed to get smaller the further she and her siblings went but finally saw a nearly empty compartment. Being considerably shorter and slower than all three of her siblings Fiona was last to reach the compartment. She turned to open the tall sliding glass door when she noticed that there was no more room to sit, barely any room to walk at all.
As she moved a piece of her long red hair out of her face she leaned in closer to make sure that she went to the right compartment, and inside she saw her two brothers sitting next to what Fiona thought was presumably three other 5th years from their dorm, and her sister sitting closest to the window across from them. Fiona knocked on the glass to get their attention but her oldest brother just waved her away and mouthed for her to go find somewhere else to sit. She let out a big sigh and quietly muttered a defeated, "Great". Her hands went through her hair and she fell back against the wall when she realized that she would have to find a place to sit with people she didn't know. Meeting new people was never one of Fiona's problems she just only had hoped to start at Hogwarts with her siblings that she looked up to.
Get yourself together, she thought, you're not even at Hogwarts yet. She took a deep breath and started further down the long train car. As she was peering through each compartment she felt the floor beneath her jerk forward, the train was leaving the station. Now picking up the pace, she noticed that it seemed as though everyone besides her had found somewhere to sit. Compartment upon compartment was full of students and she became more and more worried that she would have nowhere to sit for the entirety of hours long ride to Hogwarts. She had walked all the way from compartment #53 to #23, #23 being the last one on this car, but to Fiona's luck there was no one but a single girl gazing out the large window at the landscape passing by. Even in her highly tired and out of breathe state Fiona threw open the door, startling the previously calm girl, and said extremely quickly, almost sounding like one long word, "I'm Fiona, mind if I sit with you?".

And So We Begin
After Cassie said her farewell to her parents, she's hopped on the infamous Hogwarts Express. "Out of my way"An older student - by the look on the crest of his cloak is a Slytherin- pushed her aside. Cassie hissed at that boy. Her piercing cold green eyes stared at the boy. Even though the boy is older than her, he cower under her intense stare.
The floor beneath her jerked, signaling the train leaving the station. Cassie looks for compartment that maybe just occupied by one or the maximum is 3 people inside or maybe empty. Cassie tired from looking left and right, searching an empty compartment. Full. Full. Full. That can't be right. Cassie huffed. She walks further down the aisle. All is full except one compartment. She looked up and the #23 painted in gold is her only choice.
She huffed before opens the door. Her medium length brunette wavy hair kept falling and covering her eyes. I should've cut my hair before I goes to this school, Cassie thought to herself. Cassie open the door, "Hey, I'm sorry to bother you but the others are full and I'm afraid we have to share this space together. Mind If I sat with you guys?"Cassie asks to the girls inside the compartment. Cassie is out of character even for herself. She is a person whose not easily warm up to people, let alone to the ones who's a stranger to her like the two girls she shares the compartment with.
One looking at the window, admiring the view and the other girl is a redhead. Cassie tried to hide her distasted face but can't hide it very well. Cassie sighed and lean her back on the compartment cushion, this going to be a long ride, Cassie said to herself and she close her eyes trying to catch a little sleep if she can.

And So We Begin
@Fiona Williams @Cassandra IronwoodsNot long after Ivy made her wish for travel companions, the sound of the door sliding open alerted her to a redhead standing in the doorway, flushed and clearly out of breath. "You could have knocked," Ivy informed her, a little disturbed. It took her a moment to comprehend what she was saying, as both the introduction and request to sit with her were spoken very, very quickly. "No, not at all. I'm Ivy." She waved a hand at the seat across from her, indicating that she should sit.
Soon after, another girl joined, however, her introduction came off as a lot bossier, stating that they had to share a space before sliding into the spot next to Ivy, all with a disdainful look on her face. And if that wasn't bad enough, she closed her eyes, as if to take a nap. Irritated, Ivy glared at her with cutting grey eyes. At least Fiona had waited to be permitted a seat.
"How very rude. Are you not going to introduce yourself?" Ivy did not stop to think before speaking her mind and unleash her sharp tongue on those who irked her. This was something people would just have to get used to, and if the other girl responded angrily, Ivy had a lot more tricks up her sleeve and would not hesitate to use them.

And So We Begin
A wave of relief fell over Fiona when she saw the girl, who introduced herself as Ivy, indicate that she was allowed to sit. Fiona sat down in the seat across from Ivy and finally relaxed in the comfortable plain red cushions. Before she could get the chance to make any further conversation with the girl seated opposite her, another came into the small compartment. She looked a lot less grateful than Fiona was to get a space to sit. The girl took her spot next to Ivy, who did not seem to like this girl in the slightest. An unwelcoming grimace fell upon the girl's face as she closed her eyes to get to sleep. The tension in the room, which the now resting girl seemed unaware of, rose faster than Fiona wanted for her first interaction at her new school.
Ivy spoke what Fiona wished she had the confidence to say and confronted the girl on her lack of an introduction. Fiona looked from the unbothered girl to Ivy and prayed that she wouldn't have to deal with this drama for much longer. "Come on Ivy, if she doesn't want to introduce herself, then she's not worth your time," Fiona said, already tired of the stresses today was bringing her. Fiona felt that she was never really good with her words, but she couldn't bring herself to let them deal with their gripes by themselves, "This is the last available compartment on the whole train car, so we might as well try to get along for the few hours we're here together."

And So We Begin
@Ivy Bellamy @Fiona Williams
"How very rude. Are you not going to introduce yourself?" The girl who introduce herself as Ivy did not stop to think before speaking her mind and unleash her sharp tongue on those who irked her. Cassandra eyes snap open from the sharp tone and tried to suppress her grin. She knows her action irked the other girl.
Then the other girls with the redhead chime in, "Come on Ivy, if she doesn't want to introduce herself, then she's not worth your time," She said, looking tired and stressed out. "This is the last available compartment on the whole train car, so we might as well try to get along for the few hours we're here together."Continue the redhead trying to keep peace between Cassie and Ivy.
What the red head said was true. It going to be a long ride might as well keep the situation at peace. Being the only child and homeschooled, her lack of mannerism among her peers make her seems rude. Maybe I start with a wrong foot with Ivy, Cassie though to herself. "Yeah, you right"Cassie agrees with what the red head said.
"Excuse my manners, I'm Cassandra. Cassie for short."Cassie introduce herself and apologize. Mom and Dad said it won't do good to have any enemies before arrived at the school, Cassie reminds herself with the advice long time ago her parents told her.
This whole socialize thing is not her strong suit but she tried to make any kind of bonds. "Sorry, I didn't catch your name, you are?"Cassie asks since the redhead girl enters the compartment earlier than herself.

And So We Begin
@Fiona Williams @Cassandra IronwoodsFiona tried to play peacekeeper, but Ivy didn't reply, still waiting for the brunette's answer. And answer she did, but not in the sharp tone Ivy had expected. She apologized for her actions and introduced herself as 'Cassandra, Cassie for short'. Ivy briefly pondered which name to use to address her before deciding on the former. They had just met, and nicknames were for people who were actually friends. She gave her a brief nod, an indication that hopefully said apology accepted.
"What house do you think you'll be in?" She addressed the question towards both of them, but it may have been hard to tell as her eyes were cast upon the landscape outside. "My father was a Slytherin, so I suppose I'll be there too." With this she gave a small shrug. To be honest, the only reason Ivy wanted to be in Slytherin was so that she could make her parents proud - she knew they wouldn't be angry, exactly, if she was placed in another house, but they would be disappointed, that was for sure.
She swallowed, nerves rising in her again at the thought of disappointing her parents. She turned to speak with Fiona and Cassandra again, hoping that they would help her get her mind off of her parents. "So, where are you guys from?"

@Ivy Bellamy @Fiona WilliamsAfter Cassie apologized to Ivy for her action and introduced her name, Ivy gave a brief nod. The pride in that girl, Cassie thought but she kept the opinion to herself. This going to be a long ride. Cassie felt there's still a bit hostility between Cassie and Ivy but for the time being she pushed that aside.
Ivy asked to both Cassie and Fiona what house do we think we'll be in. Cassie has to strain her ears to hear what Ivy asks, but nonetheless Cassie heard it. Cassie about to opens up her mouth but, "My father was a Slytherin, so I suppose I'll be there too."Ivy continues then shrugged her shoulder. "Father was Slytherin and Mother was Ravenclaw. I do hope that I follows my dad footsteps"Cassie told Ivy. If Ivy in fact is her classmate, she needs to work on her social interaction towards her peers.
Ivy then turned to speak with Fiona and her again. Tearing her eyes from the view. Something bothers her, Cassie thought but didn't speak out about it. "So, where are you guys from?"Ivy asks to both Fiona and Cassie. This is new, Cassie think. Usually when they introduced themselves to each other, they'll tell if they're Pure or Half-blood or even if they are Muggles but not in this case. You need to learn how to socialize, Cash, Cassie chided herself. "I'm from Oxford, where you from?"Cassie asks the other two.

And So We Begin
@Cassandra Ironwoods @Fiona Williams
So Cassandra wanted to be in Slytherin too? Hmm, maybe she wasn't a complete dunce. "Oh, your family came here too? Are you a pureblood?" Ivy asked, out of curiosity. It was a rather old stereotype that old pureblood families wanted their kids to be in Slytherin, although she couldn't fathom why. It wasn't that Ivy had anything against the house, it was just that the other three weren't that bad either. "My mother went to Beauxbatons. She wanted me to go there, but Father kept pushing with Hogwarts and here I am."
Ivy suspected that her younger sister, Alison, would not get to go to Hogwarts. Her mother's side of the family, the Peytons, wanted at least one of the three Bellamy girls to go to Beauxbatons, as expressed by the aggressive owls they sent. Lillian Bellamy had gone and graduated at Hogwarts, and now Ivy was going as well. She suspected that Alison would be the one to head off to France - perhaps it would even be a relief to her parents, who viewed the youngest Bellamy sister as a rebellious nuisance.
"Sussex," she responded. "The countryside." The sprawling green fields were perfectly quiet, with the occasional Muggle truck or two. Bellamy Manor wasn't hidden from the Muggles, but rarely anyone called at the place. "Oxford is a city, is it not?" Ivy furrowed her brow, trying to recall where it was in England. "I've never been. Do you two have any siblings?"
