There was precious little Evpraksiya could do through the haze of vertigo, casting flipendo fortunately, fell under that umbrella. Though, even if she couldn't make it, she was sure that her teammates would've managed regardless. According to all accounts, it'd been a textbook perfect duel, a few minor mishaps along the way perhaps, but what journey didn't have a few stipulations? It could've gone worse was the prevalent sentiment in her mind even as she mourned her failed cast of her favourite spell.

The mist was really, just so pretty.

“Flipendo!” the Slytherin said confidently. He watched as another of their opponents fell, caught up in the relentlessness of their barrage. While Luca was convinced that victory was assured, he did not for one moment let the other team see him lose focus. He was composed throughout the entire match, his bout with being tickled notwithstanding.

The angry cloud is over Team Hufflepuff's heads.

Alina: d20(18) --> No Strike

Nobody is struck by lightning.
Two of the remaining duelists on the stand had the same idea; both Livia and Alina took it up on themselves to evade anything that might come their way. For Livia, such action was mostly fruitless, but for Alina it actually made the difference, causing a flipendo from Evpraksiya to miss her.

For Luca, it seemed that this match had suddenly turned unfortunate, as an incorrect motion of the hand or perhaps an unconsciously errant shape of the spoken incantation caused the spell to backfire directly into him, knocking him back a few steps. Perhaps he should be grateful that his arcane prowess was not as good as some of his counterparts--that could have hurt him a lot more than it actually did.

The cloud was still quiet, the game almost nearing its last phases, the golden mist finally dissipating from around Evpraksiya as the vertigo would ease off.

Worthlessness was quite nearly the worst feeling that had ever accosted young Livia.

Having understood that, even while conscious, she was not nearly at her best after such a blow, it surely followed that, to maintain her team's three-versus-one advantage, she oughtn't suffer another. Thus, while she certainly could have aided her companions in finishing the deed, she instead focused on herself – her weight shifted to her toes, and her knees bent to aid her in the event that a spell might seek to seize her. Such physicality did not suit the girl; duelling, with spells slung across the piste strategically, was, to her, more of an exercise of the mind than the body. While her thoughts were often sharp and finely honed, one could not have called Livia 'fit' without lying grievously.

Perhaps she had attracted Fortuna's finest favour, because the spindly girl did not need to move quickly. A sensation of idiocy, of lameness, of uselessness, settled over her like ash from a recent eruption, and she stared blankly forward. Though winded, she could still observe; the girl across the piste seemed to have taken a similar strategic approach, and it had been larely necessary. That she had swiftly evaded Evpraksyushka's spell only spelled that the duel would continue. Livia forced her shoulders backwards – her weariness would not be evident, she decided, solidifying her grip upon her wand.

A sidelong glance at Luca would betray a stray hint of concern. Only one spell had launched itself across the piste, and, as logic would surmise, the other spell had found its victim among the Slytherins. This was their third backfire, a fact that momentarily appeased the willowy girl – after all, her father would have stated, 'omne trium perfectum', that everything within threes was perfect, that, after this third mishap, the cycle of misfortune would be complete. Nonetheless, that it had happened yet again brought forth a sense of trepidation. Livia would not ask after Luca, but even as she cast her focus forward, she firmly fancied that his confidence would not waver.

Disappointment, was light on her mind as Evpraksiya watched her spell go wide. In the space between one blink and the next, the horrible case of vertigo had left her, feeling like both of her feet were on the ground again she blinked again to make sure she's returned to her faculties. She wouldn't say that it was altogether a unpleasant experience but it wasn't one she'd like to repeat again.

"Flipendo!" the Slytherin said confidently, but something suddenly felt off. He caught himself shortselling the wand moment, but the deed was done. His cast backfired and knocked him back several steps, taking his breath with it. Luca tried his best to remain composed, but he could only do so much to hide his frustration. The Corranado boy took a deep breath, a few steps forward on the piste, and stood properly to try to finish the duel strong.

Alina let out a long breath between her teeth. She really wasn't sure what to do in this situation, overall her odds of making it through the duel upright seemed to be shrinking more and more with each passing minute.

She quietly reveled in putting Livia on the defensive for once. She noticed Luca's spell backfire, which had been one of her hopes in her effort of dodging. And she had avoided another flippendo.

Alina flips her wand around in her hand as she gets ready to go again.

Alina: d20(5) --> No Strike

Nobody is struck by lightning.
At this point it was just... painful. If nothing else could be said of Hufflepuff, the house certainly had a way of never allowing their spirits to be broken even in the most dire circumstances. Livia was not interested in throwing a spell, maintaining her concentration on her fleet footwork while the two other serpents flung a pair of Knockback Jinxes at the remaining Hufflepuff.

Evpraksiya's spell was handily evaded, but Luca's made contact this time. If Alina had been in any better health, perhaps the spell would have been more like a tickle than a blow, but her constitution was beginning to falter. She attempted to whip up a fire spell... but there was something about Evpraksiya that managed to briefly distract her just long enough to make the spell fizzle before she could fully conjure it.

Piérre was more interested in the fact that the cloud hadn't struck again yet. What a polite little thundercloud...

As much as the aggravating assault of idleness irked Livia, the strategic nature of the game led her to ready herself to dodge again, just in case. She could easily recall the swift onset of unconsciousness – how, last time, she had not been capable of withstanding even one blow; how, last time, she awoke confused, scared and eventually trembling with rage.

She was not emotionally adept enough to recognise or care that the other two Hufflepuffs might endure the same fate. The only thing Livia could concern herself with was the fact that she had hated feeling like a limp little doll in the hospital wing, and that, even if she thought herself a far more useful offensive weapon, it was perhaps a better idea to avoid such an unworthy outcome for herself.

Besides, this strategy put her in the place in which she was most comfortable. Seizing opportunities was a pursuit fine and grand, but how better to push one's opportunistic potential than step back and observe? Thus, that was what the girl did as her teammates slung flipendos across the piste. There was not much to observe now, given that the odds were uneven and the piste was growing empty. Nonetheless, Livia welcomed the chance to watch those who were older than her excel.

Alina cursed silently. Are you joking? She had managed that spell earlier in the match, what had happened? Of course in the one time that she needed it, just to prove anything, and her cast had been off. At least they were going into the final round, meaning after this she could take a long nap, and hopefully, not one that involved the hospital wing, but she wasn't completely out of the woods on that one either.

She certainly would have to start studying after this.
