Basically.. I try to read up about the world as much as I can, try to keep the adventure book open (if reading from the adventure modules) and do whatever the players want to do. If you're not sure, always consult for help or just give it your best shot. You're all literally there to have fun!

I agree with Vlad but you may want to ask what your DM possibly had planned as well. Oh and remember to have fun :3

yeahh now is a good time for me to say that I joined the dnd club at school my senior year, stayed for one meeting and couldn't do the others because of Key Club and theater commitments. As well as after school journalism (yearbook) commitments.

I wanted to do dnd and I thought that by leaving ffa as well, I would've had time but no, other things kept me busy and I couldn't just show up every so often, it wouldn't have been fair to anyone.

That being said, that was a long way to try and get to my point but it was that I didn't actually do dnd with anyone other than my grandfather, my grandmother and their daughter, then my family excluding my brother. When I try to do dnd at my house, they don't want to. So it's just me and dad, and even then dad doesn't actually want to. I tried one time though to have people out and play dnd, so I got a few friends. I thought they were friends but they were actually jerks later on. Anyways, it didn't go well. We were trying out strixhaven.

I tried out icewind dale with someone I thought was my best friend but backstabbed me several times.. but also didn't go well. I don't think I'm great at dm'ing, partially because I'm worried that it's my storytelling and attempt to dm that's boring them and kinda killing the whole vibe.

I say I don't mind dm'ing but really I kinda don't want to ruin it. I like playing it a lot more. No, not everyone wants to actually have fun playing it apparently as they're just staring at their phones scrolling through tiktok until it gets to their turn.

I think that you'd make a great DM Vlad! I haven't had the chance to DM tho I think I'd like to at some point

I tried rick and morty. That adventure was bailed. Tried Phandelver, no one survived and no one wants to try it again. Tried to wrap my head around strahd, I need someone else to run it, I cannot run it because it confuses me straight up.

I tried stranger things, that was okay but there was like *no* roleplaying, just a bunch of ok im just gonna hit it with my battle axe. Ok now what. are we done?. I did the essentials kit. I have dragons of stormwreck isle, but haven't done it. I tried doing a different ttrpg that was similar; Basic Fantasy. I did the morgansfort adventure. It was simple, straightforward and everything but honestly.

If I had to be honest, its gotta be me struggling to be a good dm or it's the ones I play with that are bad at yk actually playing the game outside of "i'm gonna stab it with my sword* only after rolling a d20 and not before... ;-; because when they roll a fail or a crit fail before they announce the weapon it bothers me because they insist it's already been rolled multiple times and I don't want to escalate it so I say okay, but when it's a crit fail and I asked them what that weapon was, they look for the weakest weapon or attack they have- even saying a *punch* ;-;

Bro the beginning of our rp is hard to write.
