I didn't know Wonder mentioned a play!?! I guess I just don't pay enough attention...

It’s basically about a day in the life of a town and it’s people (act 1), the love and marriage of two young kids (act 2), and the funeral of the main girl named Emily (act 3). The cool and unique thing about the play is that they don’t actually use props except for tables and chairs which there is a cool reason why I can’t explain right now since I’m about to go to bed, but I could owl you about it in the morning if you’re interested?

There is a version of the play for free on YouTube that was done in the 2000s? (I think) It was our visual to show the play in action after we’d read it, but it did a great job showing it if you want to see it!

it might just be in the movie, but it's the play his sister is in!

Yesssss! That was my favorite thing the fact that only tables and chairs were used! Also the description of what was happening was awesome so you didn't really need much more also the reason they used just those was to basically show how boring our lives can be i think
