Bobsledding Years 1-3
I'd managed to dodge every branch that came towards me, threatening to scratch my face and arms. And then, I'd got through the colony of strange bity creatures, without even a scratch! Then, I'd also managed to get through the snow without taking a hit, drawing me up to where two other pairs were staying, just before an even heavier snowfall. Those two pairs must've stayed completely still during my journey, and I saw that one of the pairs were currently in mid-air, holding onto their sledge for dear life. That looked a little bit sore and awkward, and I realised that it must've been the older pair who had cast the spell, as it definitely wasn't on the second year curriculum. They probably didn't trust us when we were young with knowledge of spells like that.
I couldn't see the team from Beauxbatons - they must've been much further ahead. However, I knew that the way to win was to just go for it - sled as far as I could, as fast as I could get the sled to go. I needed to do this, to come in the top three, to take home another medal for Beauxbatons.
Now, it was anyone's game!

Rina could not get over how fun guiding a bobsled along snow and ice was. She hadn't even known that you could have fun snow and ice. She didn't bother to hold back her giddy laughter as the sled, at top speed, took curves like no one's business. She fancied herself a neat little F1 racer, and if she had anything to say about it, she and Akerrah were going to cross the finish line first.
A stray command caught her attention, and she swivelled her gaze backwards to face Akerrah. 'Huh?' What on earth was a gus!? That just sounded weird. Was Akerrah trying to say she liked how fast they were going? That would have made a lot of sense, Rina decided, and she nodded her agreement.
She did her best to keep the sled going while she was distracted. Completely unaware of the threats of rogue spells (or anything else), she struggled a few times to keep her arms steady, accounting for a bumpy ride. When she turned back to face forward, she jerked the steering apparatus. Whatever the unbeknownst-to-Rina assailant was, it sailed away from them. Her eyes widened as she corrected their course, but thankfully, Akerrah had not fallen off the sled.
They drove into the snow, and Rina was once again reminded that she did not actually like snow. She wrinkled her nose and groaned when a snowball slammed into her. — Ay, ¿qué carajo?* — she hissed, lifting one arm off the steering to rub her sore bicep. She cast an angry glance about her in search of her assailant, but with how far back everyone was, and that Akerrah seemed to be suffering, too, it didn't look like the snowballs were of a mundane origin. Ugh.

Zephyr noticed the snow was falling a little heavier by now, so he kept his eyes on the track ahead. Their sled was still moving fast as he focused on keeping it steady. Right now, they were neck and neck with their house captain and her partner. But that’s the end of their peaceful progress when a burst of magic shot toward them from the side. “Hey…- ”
Before he could even finish the warning, they were struck and in the next moment the sled thrown violently upward. “Whoa!” They were launched high into the air and there was a moment he felt that strange lightness sensation in his stomach. He grabbed tighter onto the reins and leaned forward instinctively, trying to keep his balance.
“Bubbles, hold on!” he shouted at his partner Rosalyn. From up there he could see the mountains around the school and the frozen lake below them. The race track looked much smaller from this height and if their circumstances were different, he would have thought the view was amazing. It’s beautiful. But their situation was far from ideal.
He tightened his grip and braced his boots against the sled as it started falling. He didn’t even know what that spell was, he’s not familiar with it. He cannot believe they were targeted, were they even a threat at all? But then again it’s a competition and they’re here to win. He bit his lip to avoid from screaming while his stomach lurked as they fell fast. Even while in that predicament, he has presence of mind, already calculating how much time they just lost.
He waited for gravity and the race to catch up with them and glanced at Rosalyn quickly as soon as they’re back on track, giving her a meaningful look. “No time to waste.” She should use her time well too. After all, they have a race to win. This isn’t over yet!

@Zephyr DeakinIMOG Bobsledding"AAHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Rosalyn screamed, all thoughts of 'not distracting the driver' out of her head. She was pretty sure that she had completely left her stomach behind on the ground when they got blasted into the air!
"I'm trying!!!" she said, still afraid, when Windy told her to hold on. She grabbed onto the first things she could find, which were the side of the sled and his shoulder. She held onto both for dear life, absolutely terrified. She didn't have a huge problem with heights, just more the idea of falling from them.
After a few seconds of being petrified by fear, she decided to see if the view from up in the freaking sky was at least pretty. Sure enough, when she looked down, she saw how pretty it was. The snow looked quite inviting, but not inviting enough. She was truly worried about becoming a stain on that snow, though, so she decided to just not even think about that.
She felt gravity start to reclaim them as the spell(that's what she assumed had sent them into the air) wore off, and she was pretty sure that her stomach, which had just caught back up to them, was left behind yet again as they fell.
Somehow, they managed to land safely. No limbs, people, or anything else lost, thank goodness! That was some chaos.
"Yep! I mean, I wasn't scared at all! So yeah, no time-wasting going on here!" she said, trying to play it cool, like she hadn't just nearly lost her mind in the air.Stats-

"Yes!" Matilde whispered, as her spell hit its mark with precision. Her fellow Hogwarts students were launched into the air. Though their strategy had partly worked, it didn't go quite as planned on Phelan's end. The Beauxbaton girls dodged his spell and continued on.
"That's okay" she said to Phelan, "We got one of them." Despite the failed attack, she could tell he was feeling less nervous than at the start of the race. She was glad he was getting the hang of it, as she knew he would.
Matilde was about to tell him as much when all of a sudden... what was happening? The girls were speeding past the two of them. Only then did Matilde notice that in her effort to take down Deakin and Willows, she had let their sled slow down to almost a complete stop. "No!" She cried. This was not happening. Did she just ruin their chances at winning? Matilde felt like crying. She cursed herself for getting distracted.
By this point, the race was almost over. Matilde didn't know if she and Phelan would be able to make up the distance between the two sleds and secure the win for their team. And yet, the girls' sled was seemingly slowing down too. Maybe the two friends had a chance at redemption.

Phelan was getting the hang of this. He could feel himself relaxing, slowly but surely. Matilde was right. This was fun. He let himself smile. Soon, he had gathered himself enough to aim a spell in the Beauxbatons girls' direction. But despite his best efforts, they dodged it.
Matilde managed to land her spell. "Nice one!" He called to her from behind, yelling over the wind so she could hear him. He accepted her reassurance that his miss wasn't all that bad with grace. He knew it wasn't a big deal, he had misfired loads of times in dueling. It was part of the game. Strangely, it gave him more confidence. It was familiar, natural. He turned his attention to the track ahead.
But something was wrong. They were no longer going forward. "Matilde, is everything okay? Why are we stopping?" He heard his friend curse, and the look on her face was clear. This stop was not planned. "Matilde, listen to me," he said, leaning forward to speak into her ear against the wind. "It's okay. Just keep going!"
He wanted to tell her how much he believed in her. This sport was not easy- he knew that. He took her non-wand hand in his and gave it a squeeze. "You've got this. I'm right here."

Deakin and Willows saw others cast successful spells on them last round, and decided to do some magicking of their own this time! Unfortunately, they would be nowhere as successful. Deakin's spell went off right, but his targets (O'Fionnagan and Emile) easily evaded the attempted Knockback, and Willows was so scared by a member of another team that her aim seemed to be off, so no one else was affected by their attempts at spells.Hostile Actions
Because Deakin and Willows were still so high up above the track, they were able to "sled" through the air for three units! Unfortunately, everyone else seemed to be either faster or farther ahead than them. Alacrán and Koné seemed to have no issue with the high winds, but were still struggling from halved speed, so they couldn't go as far as everyone else - fine, since they had been a few rounds ahead. But then Emile and O'Fionnagan caught up, passing obstacles with ease! And Blaze struggled through the obstacles, barely missing any damage in the more moderate snowfall and also barely escaping the fog, but still managed to end at around the same spot as two of her other competitors.Movement Attempts
In the end, it was a game of millimetres, but when the judges came out onto the track after the blow of a referee's whistle to measure exactly who had come first when no one had managed to pass the finish line and there were three sleds all in quick succession, the gold was awarded to Emile and O'Fionnagan, the silver to Alacrán and Koné, and the bronze to solo racer Blaze! Congratulations, all!
Matilde & Phelan take gold, Marina & Akerrah take silver, and Cinder takes bronze!
