As Ana desperately tried to snatched the piece of paper from the girl's hand but missed, a boy approached. His robes, lined with green and emblazoned with the familiar crest showing a silver snake on an emerald green background, told her that he was a Slytherin. He certainly acted like the stereotypical Slytherin Ana had in her mind: arrogant, snobbish, as if he was looking down on them. Not only physically - which was very easy in Ana's case due to her relatively small size - but also as a part of his whole attitude. "What happened here? General rudeness, let me guess. Maybe a bit of protectiveness, yes?", he asked, an equally arrogant tone to his voice.
"General rudeness?", the Ravenclaw said fiercely, looking at him. She was speaking fast, her tone frantic, the panic clearly distinguishable despite Ana's attempts to disguise her fear and seem tough. "You could say so, yes. This... this girl, she called me an asshole, then she accused me of having no damn self control! And-" She hesitated, biting her lip with worry. Mentioning the piece of paper in her adversary's hand would bring unwanted attention to it. What if she read it out loud, here on the corridor? What if one of the other students standing around them took it, meaning well, wanting to give it back to Ana, but accidentally seeing what was on it?
Still, she could not risk the other girl keeping the plan. She'd have proof, in Ana's handwriting, written with her quill. She would have something to show to a teacher or prefect so that they would ultimately believe her. If Ana got the piece of paper back, no matter how, it would be the other girl's word against hers, the Professors would have no way of knowing which one of them spoke the truth.
"-and", she continued, glaring at the girl but addressing the Slytherin boy, "she stole my, uh, my piece of paper! It's..." Ana's thoughts were racing in her head, she frantically searched for an explanation for the contents of the paper. "It's a draft!", the young Ravenclaw blurted out. "I, uh, write. Novels. No, short stories. I write short stories. Erm, and this is a draft for my esc- for my story. Some ideas." She was really a terrible liar. Ana despised lying - she could not recall the last time she had done it, she had always favoured telling the truth, even if that resulted in a conflict. But that plan was something that nobody was allowed to see. If any of that came to a Professor, she'd not see Lydia for the next seven years.
Quickly getting back to the original subject, she continued: "Whatever. She stole the goddamn thing! It's mine, and that damn... asshole" - she glared at the girl once again, letting her know that she was consciously returning the insult her opponent had shouted at her before - "has no right whatsoever to take it!" Angry tears welling in her eyes, she lurched forward, fists clenched. As she spoke, not only her words, but her voice, the entire way in which she moved, in which she looked at her adversary, was full of threat. Every word trembled with fury. "You give that back to me. You tell no one about any of this. Or else you will regret it for the rest of your days. Have I made myself clear?", Ana yelled, volume increasing more and more as she spoke.

“You may shoot me with your words, you may cut me with your eyes, you may kill me with your hatefulness, but still, like air, I'll rise!”

"Give me that!"
Elizabeth clutched the paper more as the girl screamed for it. It was petty, sure, but she wasn't going to hand it to her unless she learned how to ask nicely. Just then a familiar voice broke through the arguing.
"What happened here? General rudeness, let me guess. Maybe a bit of protectiveness, yes?"
Willam was right there, a friend and someone she knew she could trust. "Willam!" Elizabeth let out a relieved sigh and sunk towards him almost as if he were some sort of safety blanket. It had been a bit since they had talked and Elizabeth feared he would take the other girls' words over hers.
"You could say so, yes. This... this girl, she called me an asshole, then she accused me of having no damn self-control! And-"
Elzabeth found herself boiling with anger knowing that if this continued anymore she would snap. "I do not need to accuse you of anything, the very way you are acting is proving me right." She kept her voice down and even, not letting her anger breakthrough.
"-and she stole my, uh, my piece of paper! It's... It's a draft! I, uh, write. Novels. No, short stories. I write short stories. Erm, and this is a draft for my esc- for my story. Some ideas."
Elzabeths eyebrow raised with every obvious lie. This was a list, not a draft. She was planning on a foolish escape that could never work and was embarrassed for everyone to see so. Elzabeth scoffed, she wanted to help this girl leave, the better she was gone the better for Elzabeth and anyone else for that matter.

At this point, the other girl was making herself look more like a hot-headed fool, so Elzabeth stayed quiet. There was almost a chant she kept repeating in her head to stop her from making a rash decision. You are better than her, You are better than her.
"Whatever. She stole the goddamn thing! It's mine, and that damn... asshole has no right whatsoever to take it!"
Elzabeth considered for a short moment, returning the hard slap that she had gifted her earlier since she seemed to be approaching and had no intention to stop until she was spitting in her face, but that would only hurt the point she was trying to get across.

The girl eventually was only a short reach away, probably attempting to scare Elzabeth but after her run-in with the Slytherins at Jame's birthday party, this girl was only a crying child she used to babysit back home.
"You give that back to me. You tell no one about any of this. Or else you will regret it for the rest of your days. Have I made myself clear?"
She yelled. it was starting to get funny how scary this poor girl thought she was. Elzabeth had let her finish before shoving her back to a respectable distance.

"First of all, this stupid little plan is doomed to fail." Elzabeth wiggled the crumpled paper in between her fingers. "Second, I didn't steal your paper, It fell on the floor. So stop being so entitled and beyond rude." Elzabeth threw the paperback at her, the list landing face up for anyone in the group to see. She didn't want to hand over the paper and give the girl the thought that her silly little threat worked but Elzabeth wasn't going to be that petty.

"And lastly, you need to realize the response to anger is not to attack someone physically. The next time you ever lay a hand on me, I will rip it off of your body." Elzabeth never let this side of her out and she wished William weren't here to see it. She hated how she was when she got angry and would much rather have been in the Library with Willaim instead.

The tears were still hanging on at the corners of her eyes but at thi,s point Elzabeth didn't care, she felt ashamed anyways for this whole ordeal and honestly just wanted to go back to her room and sleep for the next couple of years.

She looked back to William, an apology hanging on her lips but for some reason, she couldn't quite say it. She feared more than anything he wouldn't want to be friends with her anymore.

"Give me that!"
The tone that the curly haired Ravenclaw took sounded like she was trying to intimidate the blond girl into giving her the crumpled piece of paper. “So it must be something very important.” Maria surmised.
"What happened here? General rudeness, let me guess. Maybe a bit of protectiveness, yes?"
It was male voice this time that came upon them. The blond Ravenclaw acknowledged him as William. He was a Slytherin that boy came off as arrogant as he sounded. Like her he seemed to be assessing the situation.

The curly haired Ravenclaw girl then continued
"You could say so, yes. This... this girl, she called me an asshole, then she accused me of having no damn self-control! And-"
. There was a moment of hesitation that Maria caught, but it was also interrupted by the other girl.
"I do not need to accuse you of anything, the very way you are acting is proving me right."
She sounded like she was trying to keep her anger in check, but it was still clearly there.
"-and she stole my, uh, my piece of paper! It's... It's a draft! I, uh, write. Novels. No, short stories. I write short stories. Erm, and this is a draft for my esc- for my story. Some ideas."
Said curly haired girl. “She’s lying through her teeth. Why?” At some point she rediscovered her back bone then turned again and yelled blond girl.
"You give that back to me. You tell no one about any of this. Or else you will regret it for the rest of your days. Have I made myself clear?"
Said blond Ravenclaw began her retaliation with a shove.
"First of all, this stupid little plan is doomed to fail."
The piece of paper crinkled in her hand.
"Second, I didn't steal your paper, It fell on the floor. So stop being so entitled and beyond rude. And lastly, you need to realize the response to anger is not to attack someone physically. The next time you ever lay a hand on me, I will rip it off of your body."
At some point the paper in question had been thrown to the floor, it’s contents open for the world to see. From where she was standing she could make out “steal broom... fly home”. She tried to keep her face neutral”Well, I guess this what she meant by ‘stupid little plan’ and why that girl wants that paper so badly.

Seeing that they both had said their piece, Maria decided to step in before they escalated again. “Right then, have you both gotten that out of your system or do you want to take this out to the courtyard?” She said firmly. “Or we can all just take a step back,” She started as she picked up the piece of paper and handed it to the curly haired girl. “take a deep breath, apologize to each other for trying to assault one another, been on our merry ways and never to speak to of this again. Because like I said earlier, the longer we stay here the more likely a prefect is going to come and the more likely there is going to be a punishment. And I’m pretty sure that the last thing either of you would want is to be stuck with each other while being watched(this she directed to the curly haired girl) writing essays for who knows how long.”

Tryna solve a problem like Maria.

Elzabeth called his name before he felt her sink toward him. Not really for contact he acknowledge her with a small head butt and "Hi" thrown over his shoulder. Not a second after his interruption, the curly haired ravenclaw turned on him. Just as he'd expect.
"You could say so, yes. This... this girl, she called me an asshole, then she accused me of having no damn self-control! And-"

The comment made William frown. Fights almost always had to sides, this one was no exception. Elzabeth was clearly not devoid of any charge. He raised an eyebrow at his friend. His frown deepened, this time with anticipation, after her little hesitation. Elzabeth cut her before she could continue her little scene.
"I do not need to accuse you of anything, the very way you are acting is proving me right."
Elabeth wasn't wrong from what he had observe up to this moment. The curly haired ravenclaw picked up again from where she had left.
"-and she stole my, uh, my piece of paper! It's... It's a draft! I, uh, write. Novels. No, short stories. I write short stories. Erm, and this is a draft for my esc- for my story. Some ideas."
William wanted to laugh at the obvious lie. Anymore obvious it would've smacked them in the face. Not only had she tremendously fail at hiding whatever was on that sheet, she had also picked his interest on what exactly was on that piece. He hadn't had the time to peek over Elizabeth's shoulder before she crumpled it. He looked at each of the protagonist and onlookers one after the other seeing the same disbelief he felt on their faces.
"First of all, this stupid little plan is doomed to fail."
William could feel the tension roll of Elzabeth's body at his side as she threw the prized paper to the floor.
"Second, I didn't steal your paper, It fell on the floor. So stop being so entitled and beyond rude. And lastly, you need to realize the response to anger is not to attack someone physically. The next time you ever lay a hand on me, I will rip it off of your body."
While Elzabeth ranted, William took the opportunity to read the content of the curly haired girl's obsession. A plan to escape school by the looks of it. She was doomed to fail as stated. By the ministry or another, she'd get caught. What Elzabeth finished off with finally registered in his mind. For once he couldn't hide the expression expanding on his face, horror. What the Hufflepuff said barely got to his brain. Calm down, prefect, detention. She was right, but he couldn't move seeing the look on Elza's face. Like a kicked puppy waiting for punishment. "You are right. With all the noise, someone is sure to have heard. Take your paper, do whatever you want. Let's just let it like that. Everyone's too high strung to think normally anyway", he said putting his hands on Elzabeth's shoulders hoping to steer her away.

Ashlyn was trying to figure out where to go as she wandered around the never ending halls, lost, yet again! She was about to turn around when she heard some girls yelling and a boy trying to calm them down.

"Second, I didn't steal your paper, It fell on the floor. So stop being so entitled and beyond rude. And lastly, you need to realize the response to anger is not to attack someone physically. The next time you ever lay a hand on me, I will rip it off of your body." One of the girls said angrily.

"You are right. With all the noise, someone is sure to have heard. Take your paper, do whatever you want. Let's just let it like that. Everyone's too high strong to think normally anyway" the boy said as he put his hands on the shoulders of one of them, attempting to turn her around.

Ashlyn slowly walked over to them and spoke, a bit shy because she’d had almost no human interaction. “Umm, I know it’s not my business but what the Hell is going on? You’re being really loud and I’m pretty sure that if a teacher comes basically everyone is going to get a detention, and sorry to intrude.”

Well, she wasn't wrong - there really was a crowd gathering around, and she had gotten her front-row seats. But now she was starting to become a little uncomfortable.

Lydia had been listening, trying to fit this scattered pieces of this unnecessary little "puzzle" together. Seeing the quiet Hufflepuff girl - probably the only sane one involved in this whole drama - look down at the open page, Lydia followed her lead. A rush of empathy bubbled up to her cheeks as she read: steal broom. fly home.

Not too long ago Lydia had also written a soppy letter to her mother, asking to go home for a weekend, or at least request that she was withdrawn from Hogwarts for an early holiday. Perhaps that was where Ana's aggression was coming from.

That did not, however, make it ok.

"Ana, I think you can stop trying to justify physical assault now. You made a mistake, that's ok, but we can't go on like this. Elizabeth, she did do something shitty, but threats probably aren't the way to go about rectifying all of this." Lydia tried her best to stay calm, but her voice ultimately turned a little shaky, and was more of a mumble than a sweet, soothing tone. "Unless, like our friend over here says, you actually want to fight this out. In which case, let's get it over with."

She made a point of only making eye contact with the other two Ravenclaw girls, with a brief glance at the Hufflepuff who had arrived shortly after her. Not to be rude, of course, but rather to distract herself from the crowd and the red rising onto her cheeks.

Liddy wasn't sure if she was blushing from the embarrassment of Ravenclaw making such a scene in front of all the other houses, her rising anxiety from every additional student who came to check out the clash, or the pinch of frustration of neither girls seeming to want to find common ground.

The red in her cheeks only increased Lydia's insecurity, and she couldn't help but snap at the Gryffindor girl who had sauntered up as well: "And I'm sorry, but we really don't need any more people stirring this up."

She immediately knew that her tone was unnecessarily harsh, and the Ravenclaw quickly diverted her gaze back to her housemates. They needed to figure this stuff out; it was stupid to spend so much time and energy on an argument that should never happened in the first place.

Ana's cheeks flushed with shame and fury as the crumpled piece of paper hit her chest, then, despite her trying to grab it, fell to the floor, deliberately thrown by her adversary so that everyone whould be able to read it. Angry tears formed in her eyes, about to overflow, as the first-year bent down to retrieve her list.It was too late - everyone had seen it, everyone had read the steps of her escape plan, divided into neat bullet points.
"Steal broom... Fly home... Reunite with Laila."
This could completely ruin her attempt to flee, her only chance of getting back to her family and to her crush, not just for the holidays, but for the next years.
Ana heard the chattering of the students who had crowded around the two as though there was a thick glass pane between them, distant and muffled. Her heart was thumping, faster than usual, loud so that it seemed to Ana as if everyone had to hear it.
Only one sentence from the crowd rang out clear and sharp. "Stop trying to justify physical assault now." Ana believed the voice was that of the Hufflepuff girl, but didn't turn her head to find out. It suddenly became clear to her that none of the people around her were on Ana's side. They couldn't understand the severity of what her adversary had done. They didn't get why she had slapped the girl, and they judged her for it.
Ana was getting desperate. And desperate people did stupid things. Later, she would have difficulties understanding how on earth she had justified doing that, but at this moment, it seemed perfectly sensible.
"No matter what I do now, they'll hate me. They'll think I'm violent, aggressive, the kind of person who assaults others rather than to talk. If they're gonna believe that anyways, I might as well live up to it. That girl... She might've destroyed everything I've plotted... Every single one of those people could go running to a Professor right now and tell them everything... she needs to suffer for what she's done! And I won't be here for long anyways... they can't harm me... what is the worst they can do? Expel me? I'd go laughing..."
A wild, fierce, almost mad look appeared in Ana's eyes as she launched herself at the girl, knocking her to the floor in the process so that her head hit the stone tiles. "You'll rip off my hand, you're saying? We'll see to that", Ana hissed, pulling the other Ravenclaw's hair and punching her. Ana wasn't an experienced fighter, and not at all sure of what she was doing. But the rage lent her strength.

After just having some lunch, the young dhampir made her way through the halls. The food didn't taste as good as they used to. What happened? Surely the House Elves didn't change their recipe, right? With a sigh, the Prefect pulled out a blood flavoured lolipop. Atleast this taste wouldn't change anytime soon.

Her strawberry red hair gently bounced with every step she took, her ice blue eyes looking straight infront of her. Her tongue occasionally flicking against the savoury candy in her mouth. What now? Back to the Slytherin quarters? Well, it was still quite sunny out so maybe she could blow off some steam outside. That idea sounded more satisfying than going back home... She could already se eit. The soft grass, the gentle breeze blowing through her hair and stroking her cheek. It sounded peacef-

"Ana, I think you can stop trying to justify physical assault now. You made a mistake, that's ok, but we can't go on like this. Elizabeth, she did do something shitty, but threats probably aren't the way to go about rectifying all of this. Unless, like our friend over here says, you actually want to fight this out. In which case, let's get it over with."

Wh- Wait what?! Catching a firey conversation between what seemed a bunch of students, caught the Slytherin Prefects attention. Even though she hadn't been feeling herself lately, she'd still do her best to do her job.

"You'll rip off my hand, you're saying? We'll see to that" Nico quickly picked up the pace and walked over to the brawl. Whoever decided to fight today, made a big mistake. Swiftly, she stepped up to them. Two Ravenclaws started to have at each other. Nico had to act quick. She wasn't strong but ... She couldn't just stand by and do nothing...

'Might I ask what in Merlins name is going on here?...' She'd glance at them and then up to the crowd. 'Everyone, please step back...' If everyone would indeed listen to her, she'd step up to the brawlers and do her best to pull them away from each other. Her cold fingers would probably touch one of their necks as she had pulled them by their collars. 'Enough.' She wouldn't raise her voice. It would be stern and clear. She'd look at the blonde Ravenclaw with a faint remorse. Bullying was something Nico really had a soft spot for. Her ice cold glare would move to Ana, the curly haired Ravenclaw who seemed to be the one who started this. 'Stay back. Can anyone tell me what happened?'

Ruby was headed to the library, walking at a fast pace through the corridors. She was not in the mood for any interruptions, she just wanted some more books. However, when she rounded the corner, she realised that it would not be that easy today. Letting out an exasperated sigh, she stared at the mess in front of her.

Angry children were yelling, some fighting and some yelling at them to stop, which hardly seemed to be helping. She glanced at the way around them. She could still make it past them without much trouble and just get to the library, but the prefect badge she wore reminded her that she had duties. Eyes narrowing in frustration, she resisted the urge to tell them all to shut up.

It seemed like Nico was already there but could use a hand. Silently, Ruby would help to pull the fighting students apart, giving them a look of disapproval. She would not say anything more, as clearly the students had said much while fighting, and Nico was questioning them. Another voice to add to the mix would not help at the moment. She gave a small nod to Nico, showing that she was here for her and would help if she needed it.

Despite not knowing the prefect that well, she had taken a liking to her the few times they had met. She was responsible and kind, and Ruby knew that she would be able to handle this. Their last meeting had been under extremely unfortunate circumstances, and in a scene worthy of nightmares, the two had been bitten by venomous spiders that had invaded their common room. She almost shuddered at the memory of the pain, stopping herself from automatically reaching down to her leg, where she had been bitten. No, don't think about that, she told herself firmly. Focus on the current situation.

Her gaze passed over each student, lingering long enough for her to commit each face to memory. They would not be getting away with this.

One of the Ravenclaw spoke up beside him laying the situation about as well as William thought it was. only, if his suspicions were right, he'd never implied the girls should fight. He only wanted for everyone to go their way and cool off a bit. He wanted to protest his point, but he couldn't get the words out. In the corner of his eyes, he caught the silver of a prefect badge. Chances are, it was too late to avoid detention for everyone of them, even if they were there to diffuse the tension.

His little inattention was gifted with the curly haired Ravenclaw wrenching his friend out of his hand and punching her. The prefect arrived and as soon as she asked, William took a step back. When she asked what happened, William turned to her and started to explain what he had seen. "I don't know how it started since I arrived later, but I know one of them and I wanted to know what happened to get them like this. It escalated from there, both were threatening the other. Everyone else here was trying to ward off the arguments. I try to lead one away but..." He gestured to the girls. He didn't mention the paper or her plan. Those were her choices and, if she were to be caught, she would be in due time. "Maybe it's just me, but, unlike what the Ravenclaw said, he gestured to the one who had spoke to both girls, no one in the bystanders wanted a fight. Though maybe others can bring more light to the problem"

While he answered, another prefect had arrive. He could feel her gaze linger a moment on each of them and he knew he would regret getting involved. The Gryffindor who'd arrived even more so. Most likely getting a detention for something she had mostly stumbled on at the worst of moment. William couldn't choose whether to pity or mock her. As he pondered, he listened intently to anyone who had more information.
