“Fuck.”
She muttered to herself as she stood up from the ice, her dress now covered with stray specks from her fall. Her spell had been a total fail too; she glanced for a brief second at the judges, studying their hard-stoned expressions. So much so for training herself the whole day if she wouldn't be able to perform a simple triple lutz, or maybe it was because she was too ambitious for the first round, maybe she ought to have waited till now. Nevertheless, her mind was pinned back to winning (hopefully).
Taking in a sharp and certainly painful intake of air, she did a few rounds around the ice, hopefully trying to drive that certain fail from their minds before bracing herself for another jump.
A double salchow that's what she wanted. Who knows maybe she'd fail, maybe she wouldn't, hopefully the latter as she now lead loser town with a leading zero. Thankfully she hadn't had any deductions from her failed spell attempt, or else that would've been absolutely dreadful for her. And speaking of spells, maybe she ought to try another one, this was the last round, “Verdimillious”, she muttered, hopeful, after all, she could do with a little whimsy before trudging and grumbling her way back to her yurt, where she was absolutely sure she would spend the whole day sulking.

The end of the soloists' figure skating came and went, causing audience members to gasp as leading skater Wagner left the rink. Was she injured? Unhappy with her performance? Either way, it was clear she wouldn't take the gold, nor would Anezaki, who hadn't bothered to show.The Actions
Machavariani cast a gorgeous spray of red sparks from her wand, but failed to land her double lutz. Oak leapt to a temporary lead with a successful Bubble-Producing Charm and beautiful quad flip, but then Hunter fell of her triple camel spin, managing only to salvage some points with some similarly lovely bubbles decorating the air. Stone then jumped into the lead with his double lutz and casting of explosive purple firecrackers, causing Ilvermorny chants to rise from the stands.
Argentum, whose outfit was causing appreciative murmurs and nods from the judges, stunned with a quad axel and shower of snowflakes to end the program. However, immediately after, along came Connor with a quad lutz and some cast blue sparks done so beautifully as to lutz her way into first place. Then came Jones, in an early second place lead, falling from favour even after a successful double lutz when her attempt at changing the colour of her outfit ended up splattering an ugly puce blob across her dress. Ending the round, Contraire seemed desperate to make up some points, skating to a song that had some judges practically weeping from its beauty - and even though she fell from her double salchow, she successfully cast green sparks from her wand to end the event.
Hogwarts takes gold and silver, while Ilvermorny takes the bronze! The medalists would have to wait to officially gather their winnings, however, until the awards ceremony at the weekend.
