(yes, that is the common assumption as colin said but I just want to say that I don't usually put dates down on my rps because I don't actually have a day in mind. It could be a weekend in march, or whatever. Having a date only sets it in stone, and I guess aligning posting date with ic date works too, but that's not necessarily why I leave some dates blank.)

(plus Im not that well versed in hp canon I dont even know when you leave on the hogwarts express is it august or september)

If you don't know a specific date, you can always pick something vague like "Early October".

The main reason is because, unlike many RP sites, Hio operates on "real time". A day in real life is a day on site.

I always date mine! You never know when you might accidentally realise you're watching a broom race when you're actually book hunting in the library on the same day

I need to do a lot of back dated ones of fall-winter, because I joined the site late in the year!

No thats true, I get that, but (at least during their heyday or whatever, its been years since I've been on there.. think back to 2019-early 2021) this particular web of sites that I spent time on already had a date section, a weather section, everything that could be considerably specific to the rp setting. Here, we don't have that feature, which I'm okay with.
