OOC Notes: Happy Heart's Day! :D
Zephyr went to the library for one simple goal--to enjoy a quiet and productive day. As usual, he chose the corner desk with a book he had just borrowed. Today, he was determined to make progress on his reading. The library was perfectly silent, that was, until he caught hurried whispers between the shelves. Initially, he paid them no attention. Students were always searching for something, but then he heard some words uttered clearly. His brow furrowed, not meaning to eavesdrop, but that's exactly what he was doing now, the book he'd been reading momentarily forgotten. It was about Mongoose heart stickers? That had to be a joke, right? He shook his head and returned to reading while convincing himself he just misheard it. However, the whispers grew louder, something about being transfigured, somewhere in the library and that they have to find and help the professor. Professor? So a professor lost their stickers? And this is what you get when you stay in the library.

He tried to focus on the book again, but it was futile when his attention was already elsewhere. Besides that, he could no longer understand and absorb the same paragraph he had been reading for the past few minutes. The lines blurred, which started to annoy him. His thoughts returned to the same ridiculous words over and over. Who would transfigure heart stickers anyway? And why mongoose-themed of all things? He tried to convince himself that it was none of his business. He had better things to do. Really? He did not. After a few more minutes of pretending to read, he gave up and got up from his chair to return the book. If he couldn't focus, might as well give up, there's no point forcing it. He put the book back into the assigned shelf and noticed something strange. Students were not simply browsing, they were checking between books and inspecting the shelves. Now he's really curious!

With nothing planned for the rest of the day, he decided purely out of curiosity to take a look himself. But what exactly was he supposed to be looking for? Were the stickers hiding between books? Hidden inside pages, or on the back of a shelf, or under it perhaps? What did mongoose heart stickers even look like? Cartoon mongooses holding hearts? Realistic ones? Something sparkly? How would he know if he finally found the right thing, not just some random object? He imagined grabbing the wrong item and casting the spell, only to transfigure someone’s belongings by accident. The thought almost got a laugh out of him, but he controlled himself as he was still inside the library. Even with that knowledge, he checked the shelves, there was nothing but dust and scraps of parchment. He pulled out a book and checked each page; there was nothing unusual. Stepping back, green eyes shifted over the objects placed among the books. There were a few items that looked familiar and then... Huh? A carved wooden mongoose. That's odd and definitely suspicious. That particular item looked out of place there. And was also a mongoose! Could it really be the one they've been looking for?

He picked it up cautiously while also glancing around to ensure no one was watching him. There’s only one way to find out if this is the right one. He pulled his wand out of his robe sleeve and tapped the figurine. “Reparifarge.” He only whispered the word so as not to get any attention. The wooden mongoose changed shape; it shrank inward and transformed into glossy stickers that landed directly in his hand. He simply stared at them in disbelief. All that commotion over this? He chuckled upon realizing how absurd that sounded, but also weirdly satisfying that he found them. Shaking his head, he gathered the stickers carefully and put them inside his pocket. What started as an ordinary reading session turned into an unexpected treasure hunt. He's not going to complain about that. Now, to return this...

Upon arriving at the office, he placed the stickers on the professor's desk. There was no one there after calling him many times at the door. It felt wrong to just drop them off and leave. He glanced around the office and spotted a scrap of parchment. He wrote a note and slid it under the stickers.
Professor,

Found your missing mongoose heart stickers hiding in the library. They were found in a very convincing disguise.

You’re welcome. Crisis officially un-crisis-ed.

Valentine's Day was approaching, and Rosalyn, for one, was quite excited! Sure, she didn't have a partner, but did she really need one? She could enjoy the pink, flowers, and happy people all by herself just fine! Perhaps someday she would have someone to share the day with, but she wasn't all that focused on that fact. She was heading to the Library to find a new book to read before going back to her dorm to do some homework.

She walked into the Library, heading over to one of the shelves to look for something interesting. Then, she stopped and backtracked, very confused.

The Library had a display case? How had she not noticed?! She spent so much time in the Library, probably more than she spent anywhere else, and she'd probably walked past it a dozen times without noticing! Wow, she really had to get better about noticing her surroundings.

She decided to check it out, curious as to what could be in there. A bunch of priceless artifacts greeted her in the case, and she immediately backed up. With her clumsiness, she doubted that it would be a very good idea to get too close. She really, really did not want 'destroyed a priceless piece of history on her record, if the school even kept one, that is.

She decided to admire the beautiful pieces of what was probably very important history from afar, seeing many interesting things. When she looked at one artifact, however, a sense of familiarity overcame her.

It was a quill. Not just any quill, but one that looked very special. Except she could have sworn that she'd seen it somewhere before, somewhere she had recently been.

She began to wrack her brain to find exactly what it was. Could it have been in her room? No, hers were much less cool looking. Could it have been in a shop? Perhaps, but why would a shop quill be in a school display case?

"Aha!" she said to herself, very quietly as it still was the Library. She knew where she had seen the quill before, in Professor Kāne's classroom! She was pretty sure he'd used it to write at least once, and if not, she'd definitely seen it on his desk or something of the sort. Regardless, it was most definitely his quill, and for some reason, it was being displayed as an artifact.

After a few minutes of debating whether to do anything about it or not, Rosie decided that she should probably return the quill. She wouldn't get in trouble for it, right? I mean, she was doing something to help a Professor, so she probably wouldn't get told off by anyone.

"Okay, here goes. Quarzicum!" she said, making sure to do the correct wand movement and pronunciation. She didn't need to jack up a spell one of the only times it really mattered!

The glass turned into sand, allowing Rosie to easily reach in and take the quill out.

"Reparifarge!" she said, watching to make sure that the transfiguration reversed and that the case was just the way it was before, minus the quill of course.

She began to walk to Professor Kāne's classroom, ready to return the quill. She went, and upon not seeing him, wrote a note for him to see and know what happened.

Once she left the note, she walked out of the classroom and back to the Library, grabbing the book that she had originally been there to get. She was happy that she could help, but hoped that she didn't have to risk making a mess in the Library again!

Pyce had been somewhat aware that Professor Kāne was looking for some misplaced objects. They didn't know what, and they didn't ask. Perhaps they should have though. It could have been important... But today was a pretty good day for heading to the library. Pyce had enough time to spare to hopefully jot down some notes in their journal. It had been safely wedged between some dusty shelves, and while it was a bit early, and the library was strangely crowded, Pyce was pretty sure it was fine to write in the journal without anyone noticing.

The library really was oddly popular today. Pyce would know, they spent most of their free time here. They didn't mind it and made their way through the shelves, and it seemed that the further they ventured, the less people were present. That was nice.

As Pyce continued to walk past, they noticed a glass case. It wasn't unusual, per say, but they had never seen it before, and they walked this way nearly every day. Pyce had a moment to spare and went to see what it was. Now- call Pyce odd, Hecate usually did anyway, but they really liked quills of any kind! They had recently come into possession of one that looked like it was on fire and wrote much the same way. It was pretty, Pyce liked pretty quills.

In the glass case was a quill. It was a nice quill, yes, but it looked familiar, though Pyce couldn't put their finger on it. They quickly checked to see if anyone was looking before they slipped their wand out and pointed it at the glass case with a whispered "Quarzicum."

The glass turned to sand, spilling over the shelf it had been sitting on and onto the floor. Pyce winced. That was- not ideal. It didn't matter though, as they grabbed the quill from where it was now and looked it over.

Now they knew where they had seen it! It was one of Professor Kāne's quills! How had it ended up in the library? Pyce didn't know and wasn't planning on asking. This is probably what the professor had been looking for. Pyce looked at the sand still covering the floor. That was-

That was an issue for later Pyce, Pyce had decided as they speed-walked out of the library with the quill in hand. The moment they stepped out the door, they started running, not quite making their way to the stairs before they had to catch their breath. Pyce hated running.

Didn't matter! They didn't have time to complain.

Several sets of stairs later, Pyce made it to the fifth floor and was outside of Professor Kāne's office. It didn't sound like there was anyone inside right now. Pyce took the chance and slipped into the room. They placed the quill on the professor's desk and quickly made their way back out. No one would ever know they were even there.

Pyce breathed a sigh of relief as they started a leisurely pace back down to the library.

Until they remembered the sand they had left there and scurried off to find a regular broom.

𝓤usally, after class, Maisie would head to the library to do nothing other than finish the day's work. But today, she went there not only to do her work, but also to find something. She was often oblivious to the life of people around her, but she knew for a fact the transfiguration professor had lost some things that were important to him. So, she decided to keep an eye out for them if she happened to come across them. She did not actively search for the objects belonging to the professor, and it was by pure chance she noticed a glass case with a quill encased in it, while browsing books on a shelf.

Curious, of why such an object was on a shelf in the library, she set the book down and looked at it. How was she to get it out? There was no way for her to confirm the case didn't belong to someone else, or even if the quill belonged to Professor Kāne in the first place. The girl fretted over how she was to get the quill out, without damaging the case. But then it crossed her mind that she knew a spell taught in Transfiguration: glass to sand. Pulling out her wand from her pocket, she pointed it at the glass ball and whispered, "Quarzicum." The glass crumbled into a small pile of sand, the quill half-buried in the sand. Plucking it out of the sand, she laid it on the shelf, and, once again pointing at the sand, "Reparifarge!" The sand turned into glass once again. Eyebrows raised, Maisie carefully put the quill into her textbook, and carried it out. Homework could be done in the common room as well, although amidst noise. She went to a vacant seat and wrote a note on a piece of parchment before tucking it into her robe pocket. After checking out her books, she sauntered out of the library and towards the fifth floor.

Reaching the Transfiguration classroom, Maisie found the door ajar. Quietly, she treaded inside, going up to the Professor's desk. Setting down the textbook with the quill inside, she opened the book and set the quill inside his inkwell. Then, she put her note next to the inkwell. She could see a few other notes and other returned items and she raised her eyebrows in surprise.
Dear Professor Kāne,

I heard you've lost a few objects, and, although not actively looking for them, I came across your quill in a glass case in the library. Now, I've put it inside your inkwell.

Yours,
Maisie Fenwick Rose Williams, First Year, Hufflepuff.

After finishing today's classes, Sere Nade walked to the library. It was still her habit to visit this heaven of knowledge, although she had to admit that the frequency of her visit had decreased by around a quarter compared to her first year at the school. She returned three books (each containing information of winter sports, the International Magical Olympics record, and Koldovstoretz) to the librarian's desk.

The information regarding her Winter Duel had already been announced and her schedule didn't clash with the departure date of the 2026 International Magical Olympic Games participants. Nothing could hold Sere's decision to go. The day after her match schedule was released, she went to borrow some books. She didn't want to attend an event she wasn't really sure about. The books she had just returned gave her an overview of what she needed to know, and all of that brought her some relief.

After completing the book return procedure, Sere turned and was about to go back to the dorm when she noticed something familiar displayed in a glass case on a table not far from the librarian's desk. "Isn't that Professor Kāne's...?"

Sere realized that the quill inside the glass case actually fit perfectly with the library's ambiance, if only she hadn't seen a very similar onde in somewhere else before. She approached the case to make sure, squinting and examining it thoroughly before deciding that the writing tool -indeed- belonged to the professor.

Sere had visited Professor Kāne's office around half a year ago, and when she saw him skillfully moving the parchments here and there with a snap of his fingers, that was also the moment she first noticed the quill displayed in the case. She realized the professor used it frequently during the class.

If Professor Kāne use this quill since his early days, it must be his favorite. Sere pulled her wand from behind her robes. "Who on earth put professor's favorite thing in here?" She clicked her tongue, said a rhetorical question before casting a spell, "Quarzicum!"

The glass case transformed into sand with the Transfiguration spell she had just casted. Sere took the quill and whispered the Reparifage to form the sand back to the glass case. The girl stepped out of the library, going up to the fifth floor of Hogwarts Castle.

When she arrived in front of the professor's office, she knocked, but there was no answer. She ended up leaving the quill in the ink well on his teaching desk with a short note: 'I found yours in the library.' without her name, keeping it anonymous.

Sere left the Transfiguration classroom and crawled behind the Fat Lady to get some rest. "Ah right... the Olympics. Should I participate in one of the competitions?"

t wasn't as if the sunchild had expected anything other than the ordinary trip to the Library when she turned the handle leading to the vast space of endless books and the smell of old parchment. It was the day of her first meeting her fellow M.A.P.S members, and that would've been eventful enough for her in all honesty. But before that would come to pass, Lyanna saw a shimmer from the corner of her eye. Looking in its direction, it seemed to be a reflection of some sort. Taking a closer look, the sunchild realized that the gleam was the light of the sun reflecting off... a mirror? That seemed out of place, especially since it was strangely shaped and looked suspiciously like a car mirror.

What in the world?

After blinking a couple times, the second year decided that this couldn't be an object that someone had left there accidentally. No, this was different. Why would anyone have a misshapen car mirror-esque object and bring it to Hogwarts of all places? That couldn't be, the sunchild reasoned. Contemplating on what could be the cause of this, Lyanna then came to an accurate conclusion. What if, instead of having been created like this, the item had been transfigured incorrectly and ended up like this? Although even that seemed slightly far fetched, it was the only conclusion Lyanna could come up with that made the slightest bit of sense.

"Reparifarge."

The spell was well-pronounced along with its correct wand movement, and the previously failed transfiguration was turned back into... stickers? The situation the sunchild found herself in was becoming stranger and stranger. Looking closer at them, Lyanna found that they were mongoose heart stickers which seemingly belonged to Professor Kāne, the current transfiguration professor. That was certainly a strange coincidence. How had the stickers ended up there? But no matter, for there was nothing the thirteen-year-old could do apart from bring them back to where they belonged.

But maybe it wasn't coincidence after all.

In the end, the puzzle pieces slowly came together. A heart-shaped sticker. Valentines Day soon to come. What could make more sense? As Lyanna walked toward the exit, she saw yet another strange occurrence. A glass case had been placed around... Professor Kāne's favorite quill? Things really seemed to be getting out of hand, as another puzzle piece seemed to click into place. Possibly, this was all a prank toward him. But although the thought caused her to stifle a giggle, wheels were soon turning in her head to think of a solution. For the previous dilemma, the sunchild had used a transfiguration spell to solve the problem. Maybe that was the solution for this as well. Racking her brain for which transfiguration spell could possibly come to use, the answer was soon clear as day: Glass to Sand! And once done, she could use Reparifarge to restore the glass case.

"Quarzicum!"

A quickly voiced incantation and swift wand movement and the deed had been done: sand was now seeping onto the library floor and the shelf that the glass case and quill had resided on, which was now freed from its transparent bars. Holding it up to the light, Lyanna had to admit that it was a pretty quill; no wonder Professor Kāne seemed to cherish it. Now all she needed to do was clean up the sand and deliver the quill and stickers back to the professor's office. It was time to cast the first spell once more.

"Reparifarge."

The sand had been cleared just before Librarian Doukas would've spotted the mess, and the sunchild then left the library and headed toward Makaio Kāne's office all the way on the fifth floor. Once arrived, Lyanna found a scrap piece of parchment in her satchel and wrote the following note:
Hello Professor,
I retrieved your stickers and treasured quill from the library, where the items were misplaced in the most strange manner. I hope this finds you well, have a lovely day.
— Lyanna Oak
Placing the note and items on his desk, the final puzzle piece had been placed at last. Closing the door behind her, the sunchild took her leave and returned to the library once more. Some good deeds do go unpunished.
