As a fellow Gryffindor it was no way she would side with Olivia of all people. He feigned boredom quite well as the annoying Hufflepuff described her prank. So well in fact he was fighting to hold back a snort. He yawned dramatically instead, rolling his eyes.
Fair enough that her prank was sort of good, but it would be easily solved. Not that much different from his own, but that he would never willingly admit. He scoffed loudly at the statement of him being useless in lessons. It was true, but he would be damned if he let her get under his skin that easy. «Yeah, right… The Potions Professor will have a bit of a job to do. But I doubt that it will take more than an afternoon. The library will at least be out of normal order for a couple of days!»
He was more than ready to boast of his mischief when Flame finally asked. So with a happy smirk and a small shove towards Olivia he spared no details. «Well, like the great student I am-» He began. «I decided to practice a bit of transformation in the library. That shelf of history books looks just as dull every time I walk past, and I have never even seen anybody touch it.» He took a staged break there, trying to contain his glee. «I figured that section in particular would do great as a beach! So I transfigured a bunch of the books, as many as I could manage, into sand. Then I ran through to properly spread it out.»
He did not feel the need to mention all the failed transformations that occurred, nor how he failed to do anything at all to some books. Instead he happily added «Now it only needs a bit of water and a ball to throw around, and we’ll have a party! I did also transfigure a few books here and there throughout the whole library, just so it will be more of a hassle to correct everything.»
Upon reaching the question of wether he had been caught, he stiffened a bit. The smile not quite faltering, but not as prideful anymore. It had been close. If he had been caught, he would certainly be dead by now. Thankfully his quick thinking had saved him. At least for now. Gathering himself again he shook his head and shrugged. «Of course I wasn’t caught. What do you think I am, an amateur?»

“Well, like the great student I am-“ Max said “I decided to practice a bit of transformation in the library. That shelf of history books looks just as dull every time I walk past, and I have never even seen anybody touch it. I figured that section in particular would do great as a beach! So I transfigured a bunch of the books, as many as I could manage, into sand. Then I ran through to properly spread it out.” Listening to Max’s prank Flame could tell that it was pretty good. As good as Olivia’s though? She decided to let them keep talking.
When Max mentioned having a party in the library Flame smiled. Now that was a good idea. Maybe she would even have to give him extra pranking points if he could pull it off. Apparently multiple books in the library were also just randomly transfigured so that got extra points for Max. But Flame knew that Olivia’s Prank would probably take awhile to clean up. When Max went to answer the question of if he got caught Flame almost missed his Posture shift. But she definitely noticed it.
“Of course I wasn’t caught. What do you think I am, an amateur?” was Max’s response. “Compared to me Vidler? Yes I think You’re an amateur.” Flame said trying to hold back a smile. She started comparing pranks in her head and trying not to be biased towards one or the other. Olivia’s prank was impressive that was for sure but Max’s? If he could actually turn the library into some sort of party that would probably win it for her. “Okay here is what I am thinking.” she said to Olivia and Max. “Basically both pranks are relatively equal but Max, if you could actually turn the library into some sort of Party that might win it for me.” She looked between Max and Olivia. “Any last comments or info you didn’t mention before to help me decide?”

Olivia looked at Flame a little shocked, what on earth was she on about? Like Max could even pull off throwing a party. Yeah it would be a pretty badsss party, but Max of all people hosting one is a joke. Olivia did like the idea she would even attend it, if he was successful but she knew all too well he would fail miserably, that guy probably doesn't even know to party. "How about I throw the party?" she asked she really didn't want to waste a good opportunity to throw a beach party, and besides it would be good for her reputation, "We could do a spell to make it feel like the hot summers sun is beaming down on us all and we could create a small sweet breeze that makes you appreciate the small kindness of the wind during those hot days," she began but quickly stopped herself, remembering who she was talking to and to ensure she didn't get carried away or give Max her ideas.
Olivia turnrd her attention back to Flame, "Flame sorry to break it to you but you're both amateurs compared to me," she stated faking sympathy for the pair by tapping their shoulders. "Oh and Flame bare in mind I completed my prank undetected, the professor has no idea," she boasted.
This debate however was beginning to irritate her she could tell that Max actually had a chance of beating her this time round and she couldn't stand it. Olivia hated loosing especially to a nobody like him, nobody knew who the Vidler family were, well his family to be specific, it might actually do him some good to throw a successful party. Was Olivia really thinking about helping him out? this is stupid, come on Olivia snap out of it, he's an annoying, weirdo he doesn't deserve any help.

"How about I throw the party?" Flame turned to Olivia when she said this. It wasn’t a bad idea. Flame knew that if Olivia threw a party it would probably be amazing. But then Olivia started saying all her ideas out loud in front of Max. Flame resistant the urge to do a good old fashioned forehead slap. If Olivia wanted to throw a party she probably shouldn’t say all her ideas in front of Max. "Flame sorry to break it to you but you're both amateurs compared to me," She patted Flames shoulder. Flame sighed that was sort of true. Olivia and Flame had done pranks together before and Olivia had always thought of stuff Flame didn’t even think of.
"Oh and Flame bare in mind I completed my prank undetected, the professor has no idea," Olivia told Flame proudly. Flame smiled at that. Olivia rarely got caught almost like Flame herself who had only ever been caught once before. Flame sighed this was going to be a hard decision. “ This is going to be a hard decision.” Flame said. “Why couldn’t one of you messed up badly in some way?” Flame wondered if she should do a coin flip. No, that would only make them both mad at her. Flame wanted to just say that Olivia won and move on because they were friends, but that would be bias, so Flame had to let Olivia actually win fairly. "Did either of you mess anything up?" Flame asked, hoping that one of them did to make her job easier. "Also you guys won't get angry when I decide will you?" Flame didn't want to lose any friends today. If she did who was she supposed to pull pranks with?

As both girls declared themselves better than him he snorted. As if! No one could pull off the things he did without trying. There was no beating that. «Oh, please! You two couldn’t reach my level even if you tried…» He shook his head with a petty laugh. How could they imagine such a thing?
As the discussion turned to the possibility of throwing a party he first looked offended at Cuthburts offer to plan it. It was his prank! Why should she get to make use of it? As she went on though, a smirk crawled to the surface. If she wanted to hand over her plans, she was more than welcome to do so. «Oh, do go on Cuthburt!»He encouraged with a laugh. He would turn the plan into something even greater, as he always did. Not really, but shhh.
At the question of wether any of them had messed up he hesitated. Admitting it could cost him the victory, that was true. But the fact that he had messed up did in reality make the scene he created harder to vanish. «Well…» He hesitated for a moment longer before spilling the beans. «Not all of my transformations were flawless exactly… But most of them did! A few only transformed halfway, and some just seemed to melt. But!» He raised his hand to cut off any possible interruptions. «It doesn’t really matter in the end, cause all it will do is make it harder to fix the mess»
A lot more than a little smug he looked between the girls. Stupid Olivia could never outdo him. Flame couldn’t in her wildest fantasies. Enjoying the fruit of his labor he leaned back against the table. «No, we won’t be mad. Just tell us who won!» Did he believe he would be mad? No. Would he be if he lost? Absolutely, with no doubts whatsoever.

OOC note: And now the Answer You HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!
Flame was Surprised and Impressed when Max admitted to making a couple mistakes with his prank. Most people didn't admit their mistakes, and he was right it did make the prank harder to clean up and from her perspective better. And Flame was happy when they said they wouldn't get angry when she decided who won.
Maybe she should flip a coin, or they could play rock paper scissors! Flame had the sudden Idea that they could both do the same prank on different people, and whoever did it better would win. She scolded herself. 'come on Flame just chose someone!' She looked between the to people and front of her and quickly turned the pranks over in her head. A point for each important detail. Quality, amount of people who got affected, If they got caught, Level of difficulty cleaning it up.....
In the end it was very close, but somebody won. Flame just hoped that Olivia and Max would still want to be friends after they found out who won. "Well.." Flame said "Adding everything up by a point system there is a winner.." Flame was really nervous waiting to see how they would react. "It was very close by one point. If this person hadn't done one thing then technically it would be a tie." She could tell that they were getting a little frustrated that she was taking so long.
"I would just like you to know that I can't really be bias because I am friends with both of you. This is purely facts that I am going off of." Flame took a deep breath and steadied herself ready for the onslaught that was about to come. SO finally the winner is..." She looked between Max and Olivia begging them not to hate her. "Max!"

Wait what! Did I hear that right? Olivia thought shaking her head in disbelief. She looked between Max and Flame, the huge dumb grin on Max's face confirmed it. Flame had just picked Max, how was that even possible? "This is Bull!" Olivia exclaimed. "Of course a Gryffindor would choose another Gryffindor," she stated rolling her eyes, not believing Flame, her friend bare in mind, would end up being bias, she was sure she was going to win.
"You do realise that stupid idiot just got lucky with his prank, he made mistakes!" she exclaimed pointing at Max, "Have you seen him in lessons Flame or are you just blind to his..... to his... his lack of coordination and knowledge," she added exasperated as she flailed her arms around.
Olivia turned her attention back to Max who was still grinning wide clearly still proud of his victory. Olivia was not a sore loser but when she felt it was unfair she couldn't stand it, and it has always been unfair when Max is involved, he's really not better then her and never will be. "Wipe that stupid grin of your ugly mug," she spat as she got up and pushed Max off the bench. At the end of the day she knew Max's prank might have been better but she wasn't going to let herself believe that. "Try hexing me Vidler, oh yeah you can't you would probably miss, wait hang on, do you even know what one is?" she sassed.

"Try hexing me Vidler, oh yeah you can't you would probably miss, wait hang on, do you even know what one is?" Flame watched in disbelief as Olivia started to Bully? Max. “First of all Olivia I have no Idea what happened to you,” she said stepping in front of her. “Second of all there is no “you just chose another Gryffindor” because you are my friend and I wouldn’t do that to you. Third of all I chose his prank fair and square. Yes, I have seen him in classes,”
Flame sighed with frustration remembering all the classes where Max had messed up or not done something properly. “But that doesn’t give you the right to bully him, what is with you. I chose who won if you want to be angry at someone be angry at me!”
Flame had been through something like this before back when she wasn’t a Hogwarts student. She had lost a friend and that memory was not one that she wanted to be remembering right now. She was pretty sure the pain was showing on her face. She really didn’t want to lose Olivia as a friend. She would give her some time to cool off. And then try to talk to her again.

A roar of victory passed his lips as he lifted his arms triumphantly. He won. Of course he did! He stood up and strutted around for a bit, just to properly rub it in. «Can’t take the loss, ey?» He wiggled his hand at Olivia with a laugh before sitting down on the bench once more.
«Flame is fair, and you know it. You are just a sore loser!» He did not let Olivias first comments affect him, as he was having way too much fun with his own success. He even laughed off the comment of his study results.
But then he got pushed. As the Hufflepuff stood up to gain leverage he was shoved right off his seat. He stumbled forward, planting his hands on the floor to avoid faceplanting. He straightened quickly though. The smile fading and replaced by a small snarl as he swore under his breath. «You’re just a sore looser. I might not be able to hex you, but I can knock you flat faster than you can blink!» He clenched his hands into fists as he spoke.
Flame trying to step between them gave him the moment he needed to think. This was not his sister, but oh how badly he wanted to wipe that stupid smirk off her face. As the fellow Gryffindor finished her speech about bullying (really, just the suggestion that stupid Cuthburt could bully him was insulting) Max stepped up and shoved Olivia. Not particularly coordinated, but certainly hard. «There!» He spat after her. «See how well you like it!»
Turning to Flame without missing a beat he spoke again. «Maybe we should throw that party. With no stupid Hufflepuffs allowed!» It was petty, he knew that. Olivia always seemed to bring out the worst in him no matter what he did. So typical of her…

Olivia stumbled backwards, shocked that Max actually had it in him to push her and shocked that Flame had just accused her of being a bully. "Flame please, me a bully?" she asked a bit offended, "This idiot deserves everything bad that happens to him," she spat, she could not stand Max he just gave her the ick.
"You're braver then you look," she remarked smirking as she turned her attention back to Max. "Are you scared Vidler, Scared of what would happen if you actually hurt me?" she taunted. She was ready, if Max was going to loose his temper she was going to make him regret it.
Olivia scoffed at the thought of Max throwing that party, "Throw it, what would I care, it would be a pathetic attempt at one anyway," she stated. If Max actually followed through with that petty party then she would throw one of her own. "You'll be partying alone anyway, everyone else would be at mine," she said confidently, looking at Flame, "Ain't that right?" she asked her, before once again turning her attention straight back to Max. Max was lucky that there was someone else here with them, or Olivia might have gone full psyhco. Her brother and her often got carried away when it came to disagreements.
"Come on Maxine," she teased with a smirk, "You push like a girl let's see how you punch," she challenged, she had seen Max clench his fists before deciding against it. She couldn't help but find this situation a little amusing. "Or are you a gentleman Max? like your real name would suggest," she asked. She wasn't scared, she knew she was in no real danger.
