Confrontation

@Ivy Bellamy

May gasped at the sight at the vastness of rows and rows of shelves filled with books. All particularly large but full of wisdom no doubt. Glancing around they had a series of different genres labeled on some shelves. She doesn’t know where to even begin with her search for more knowledge on some subjects she had grown curious about during her classes.

Fancy designed tables are spread out along with chairs looking the same design as well. Each had a small lamp on top of them for lighting purposes but still added some effect to looking like a library.

“Whoa how am I going to finish anything?” May asks herself like a lunatic but still didn’t stop her from happiness swelling up like a balloon. All throughout today she wished that her father could see the interior and how a system seemed to be in order. From walking down the hallway to another class to even seating arrangements.

Feeling already apart of the system although she has always been that way. Finding a system or routine has always been second nature to her. Especially working on her father’s farm although they were instances where it seemed to get disarrayed but they always found a solution pretty quick or worked with it.

May claps her hand to only be shushed by somebody as she whispers out a ‘sorry’ before walking to a shelf and begins to look around for a book on the history of Hogwarts. One that isn’t like the book she has now.... She finally found one and out of excitement begins to run up to the desk to ask if she could check it out and winds up bumping into another person.
“I’m sorry! Are you okay?” She asks the person to only be met with gray eyes that belonged to Ivy Bellamy.

Interacting with @May Kingsley
Ivy did not come to the library to read that afternoon. She needed a place to write a letter, a quiet place where there would be no nosy roommates looking over her shoulder. No matter how many times Ivy told them, they just didn't seem to understand that this was a private affair between her and her sister. People who came to the library, however, understood the importance of privacy. They didn't tap you on the shoulder and tell you that you had misspelled a word. They left you alone if you left them alone.

She was on her way out, when someone ran into her, knocking her off balance and sending her tumbling to the ground. Around her, the Gryffindor could hear whispers and giggles. "Hey, can you look where you're going" she snapped in the general direction of the person as she scrambled to her feet, cheeks red with embarrassment as she dusted herself off. She looked around for the letter she'd written and spotted it underneath a table. She picked it up and stuffed it in her pocket.

"I'm sorry! Are you okay?"

Wait. She knew that voice. Annoyingly sweet and a little confused. Ivy looked up, and indeed, it was May, the Hufflepuff she had teased at breakfast, and eventually driven her away. The girl's eyes were wide and fearful, staring at Ivy as if she were a monster as she clutched her book to her chest. For a moment Ivy felt guilty. Then as quickly as it had come, the feeling left.

"May Kingsley," Ivy said stiffly, a little unsure of how to speak to her. "You should watch where you're going. Wouldn't want to," here she tilted her head and stared at her, grey eyes flashing, "bump into someone you don't want to see."

Ivy would not be surprised if May brought up the incident at breakfast, and already a retort was on the edge of leaving her lips. The Gryffindor was unafraid of making a scene - she had most certainly demonstrated that in the past few days.
