The family descends from French ancestors on both sides, and relocated to England ages before Isabeau's era. She grew in Copley, England, within the walls of the quiet and safe family estate. The home is shielded and warded, isolating the family from muggles and unwanted visitors, protecting the safety of the family. The nearby temperatures were cold, and Isabeau often experienced freezing weather in the wintertime. Because of those conditions, Isabeau grew up adoring the snow and outdoor wintry activities, her favorite being figure skating, which she discovered one year when she accidentally slid on ice behind her home. After she kept sliding around on her shoes, no matter how many times she fell, her parents eventually bought her skates and hired an instructor. From being in the cold often as a child, Isabeau would often catch a cold and be forced to stay indoors until she recovered. Despite pitching fits, her parents never relented, and instead fostered other hobbies other than skating, such as playing the piano and drawing. Growing up, Isabeau learnt about family history, academic skills, magic, and a few important lessons that shape her being. Her parents taught her the importance of the name she carried in a gentle, guiding way rather than through discipline and fear. Growing up, Isabeau and her brothers, Lucien and Théodore, were taught to observe before they react, and that the world doesn't forgive careless actions. They're also taught that repair means more than perfection. Olivier and Celestine teach their kids that everyone fails sometimes, and that it isn't about the mistake but how you move on and react to it. As children, they learned to notice, think, and act accordingly. Since Isabeau is the family baby, she's well-loved and protected, especially by her two older brothers. Lucien, the oldest at 16 years old, acts as an overbearing second father on occasion, much to Isabeau's dismay, while 14-year-old Théodore has much more charm. Achieving top marks in his classes, Lucien is the serious one of the three, speaking with purpose and doing everything with intention. Witty in his own way, Théodore is a charmer, loved even though he's not perfect. He's more laid back, emotionally expressive, and adapts effortlessly when he messes up. With Lucien's steady presence and Théo's witty and free attitude, the two together were her rock growing up. And now, watching both of them succeed in different ways only sharpened her desire to desperately do things right. FIOM: Reducio As a child born into a pureblooded home, Isabeau hated chores. Typically, one of the house elves would clean up after her as a child, so naturally, she hated making her bed, cleaning her room, or putting her toys away. At five years old, Isabeau's mother decided that she could take care of a few small responsibilities, such as cleaning up her own space. Five-year-old Isabeau heavily disagreed. After tears, a small tantrum, and a time-out, she reluctantly gave in. If one walked into the toy room on that day, they'd find a frustrated and quite peeved five-year-old Isabeau, ready to burst into tears again as some old blocks refused to stack. After falling multiple times and a couple of blocks thrown around the room, one would be surprised to see the toys levitating back to where they belong.

Description for Threads Isabeau is described as a rather pretty girl, though she's nothing extraordinary. Her brown hair has a slight wave, a healthy shine, and is of medium length just below her shoulderblades. Her slate green/hazel eyes slightly shift shade depending on the lighting, and could appear brighter or darker. Her face is heart-shaped, and there's a soft splash of freckles across her cheeks and nose. Her skin is smooth with a fair-olive tone. Choice of Style Isabeau chooses styles and clothes that are structured and typically made with materials like wool, cotton, lace, and linen. "Huh. You really want a look inside my head?" Isabeau experiences the world as a blend of observation, emotion, and imagination. She notices small details and connects them in ways that others can't. She's also rather stubborn and independent, traits she's had since childhood. She has a strong will, and when things aren't going her way, she gets emotional. She's rather good at picking apart others' moods and intentions, and does well to adjust herself accordingly. Isabeau reflects and analyzes, thinking in terms of cause-and-effect, and often mulls over past choices. Building off of that, Isabeau's standards for herself have been set impossibly high, and she always wants to achieve the best version of herself.

"C'mon now. I obviously have great qualities." Isabeau has many positive qualities, including her observant nature, intentional behavior, and a driven mindset. Isabeau never looks past the small details, and she always does things with intention. Additionally, she independently sets out to do what she puts her mind to, not caring if others think she can't. She's incredibly emotionally honest and doesn't lie to herself about how she feels. She's also incredibly resilient, and after frustration, can turn her emotion into determination. Isabeau extends her trust only in limited ways, but once someone earns it, she's incredibly loyal. Despite her clever mind, her driven ambitions, quiet authority, self-preservation, and her pride in competence, ultimately make her a Slytherin.

"Me? Flawed? Try again, babe, I'm flawless." Every positive has its negatives, and the biggest one is her emotional volatility. Isabeau feels deeply, and when things don't go her way, she spirals. Along with that are her confrontational skills. Isabeau tends to either confront someone with conviction or not at all. She's also very prideful, and because of her pride, she struggles to admit fault. Criticism feels personal to her even when it's not meant to be, and she often gets defensive and cold when it's given. She's internally judgmental, and when others are incompetent, she notices, and it taints her perception of them. Finally, Isabeau holds herself to high standards, and when she doesn't meet them, she becomes very self-critical and can go to extremes to satisfy herself.

"Of course I like things other than snow, don't be ridiculous." Isabeau has many hobbies, her favorite being figure skating. She also enjoys playing the piano and sketching when she can't skate. She loves a good book (she'll annotate in the margins) with a cup of herbal tea and morning walks in the crisp air. Her favorite season is winter, the runner-up being autumn. She likes to journal as a way to express her feelings of frustration, anger, or sadness (no it's not a diary). She does like organization, but she's not a total clean freak. She loves dark chocolate and fruits (her favorites being blackberries and pomegranates), burning her favorite scented candles, and fooling around in the snow with her two brothers. Her favorite flowers are white hellebore and snowdrop.

"Why on Earth would you think I like that!" Isabeau is one of those people who has many small irritants. Some of these include slow walkers, loud chewing, sticky items that leave residue on her fingers, ill-fitting clothes, cold tea, being rushed, and overly strong scents. But that's not all. She hates it when people can't listen to simple instructions or just lack basic competence. She also hates being corrected in front of a crowd, performative cruelty, and carelessness. Unsurprisingly, she isn't a fan of overly sweet things and would prefer sour candies to a slice of cake any day. She doesn't enjoy the spring or summer seasons or hot weather, and despite enjoying nature, she is not a fan of bugs or insects. She thinks they're creepy.
