Hip-Hip Hooray Hogwarts!

Date : January 25th, 2026 Color code : Written|Thought|Said International Magical Olympic Games. Whether Sere hadn't paid much attention on international events or something else, this was her first time hearing about this annual event. This year's Olympics would be held in Russia. Invitations for participants and spectators had been announced already, and up until now, Sere still hadn't decided whether she would go or not. However, she leaned more towards the 'would go' option, as long as no more important business stood in her way.
Koldovstoretz was known for its academic discipline. This school had a long history of refining their education system. Sere had heard that classes wouldn't be postponed just for this event, which was perfect for someone who didn't want to sacrifice anything for any kind of event. Furthermore, Sere also took a huge pride on Hogwarts. And as someone who came from the House of Determination, Gryffindor, obviously she wanted to attend and see Hogwarts bring every trophy back home.
One thing that still bothered Sere was the timeline of the Winter Games. Usually, duels for this season began in late January or early February, but as of now, there was still no clear information regarding the next games. This was mainly the reason Sere still couldn't make a firm decision about going to the Olympics.
Lost in thought, Sere finally reached the Great Hall. How long had it been since the last time she complained about the five-floor walk down? She didn't remember. Her stamina had improved now, and with her exercise routine, Sere no longer felt the need to grumble about the five-floor matter.
Returning from her jog this morning, Sere had heard her peers talking about some sort of pre-event to hype up IMOG 2026. Since she felt pretty curious and, at the same time, still had no plan for this Sunday, Sere decided to stop by and check what kind of event was being held.
Inside the Great Hall, she encountered several familiar faces. Maisie @Maisie Gemmell was busy arranging patterns, Kaitlyn @Kaitlyn Connor was writing something with quill in her hand, Tatiana @Tatinana Contraire was picking brushes and arcrylics, a Ravenclaw girl she had seen often in many events and errands @Ophelia Northwell -but hadn't interacted with since the Room of Requirement incident- also focused with her black marker, and many other students that all were busy with the artistic supplies in front of them.
Wait... Artistic supplies?
Sere had arrived at the Great Hall without knowing what kind of event this actually was, but after observing her surroundings she noticed that everyone was making banners. Oh my, so this is a banner-making event? Then I shouldn't be here! After taking a few seconds to think, she came up with one idea. Sere had never been confident in her artistic abilities, but her handwriting wasn't that bad. She could stay and make a simple banner that wouldn't hurt her pride.
She grabbed a dark-brown cardboard banner and two long strips of gold ribbon. She rummaged through the pile of stickers and took one with the symbol of Hogwarts Crest. Sere cut the gold ribbon to the length of the banner and enlarged the Hogwarts Crest sticker before placed it at the center of the banner. "Engorgio!"
Then she used Epoximise to glue the two gold ribbons above and below the sticker. She took every brightly colored markers related to the four houses and wrote 'HOGWARTS' on the left side of the crest and 'FIGHTING!!' on the right side, using the every marker she had chosen.
"Done." Sere nodded, satisfied with the result. She thought that this might be her best artwork in her three years at Hogwarts.

✽An international Olympic games between the schools. Avery couldn't believe it at first when she'd heard the announcement. This was her chance to see another part of the world. A part that before she would never have seen. Of course she would show off not only her Hogwarts spirit, but also her pride. She couldn't wait to compete. She hadn't chosen her sport yet, but she was rapidly running out of time. Though she had a sport in mind. She just had to work out the details.
She walked into the Great Hall and couldn't believe what she saw. Her eyes widened at the chaos that had unfolded. Banner making. That was the activity and a way for Hogwarts to show off pride. A smile crossed Avery's face at the thought. This was perfect. This was her way to show off her spirit even if she hadn't decided on her sport yet.
As she observed the tables surrounding her in order to decide what banner she would make, Avery noticed many people that she knew. Whether it be from past interactions or even fighting alongside some in an unofficial match, Avery knew most in the room. She smiled in their direction, but whether or not her friends and acquaintances had seen her, she didn't know. Nor did she mind. Being friendly was something she had chosen. Even if people were too busy to notice. That's what she liked about life. Most people didn't know how loved they really were.
Avery finally settled on a banner design. It would be simple. Not too complicated as she was running out of time. She had picked up a large gray poster board similar in color to the walls of the castle. Then she picked up two stickers. One sticker of the Hogwarts crest and another of a wand emitting magic from its tip. Positioning them around where she planned on placing words, she peeled off the sticky back and placed them down. Then she wrote the words, 'Let's go Hogwarts!' in between the two stickers.
Though it was short and simple, she admired her handiwork. It was simple, yet it would do the job to show off her Hogwarts spirit and the spirit of her fellow students.
Finally she stood. Leaving her poster there for anyone to pick up or adjust. She knew it could always have a flair added, but what that flair would be she did not know.

Chaewon Lee haven't heard about an International Olympic games between the magic schools. This wasn't the first time for her making banners, but the last time she made one, she was about seven years old. At that time, Chaewon and her sister were drawing something similar to unicorns, but their mother asked if they could make a banner with some loving words for their friend's birthday party. Chaewon's sister drew a perfect birthday cake, and she only wrote 'happy birthday' with a few mistakes. When the family went to the party with that banner, their friend started to laugh offensively when he saw a banner and didn't like it.
The Great Hall was full of students making banners with wonderful quotes. Chaewon got back in memories when she enjoyed making posters or painting animals. But now she must be the most serious and ambitious girl who can't laugh or be like other kids. She wouldn't be that rude or mean to other people but Chaewon also wanted to be the perfect girl for her parents. Her parents want her to be smart but not too smart, perfect but not too perfect, stubborn but not too stubborn... She got tired of always being what her parents wanted her to be, so she decided to give another chance for herself and make a simple banner.
"You can do this," Chaewon encouraged herself and went to the empty table. There were many drawing tools, but she only took paint and a few stickers. Chaewon wasn't sure what to write on the blank paper, so she decided to look at other students and maybe get some ideas based on their banners.
She saw one girl writing "HOGWARTS FIGHTING!!", and this seemed cool. But Chaewon didn't want to copy her, so she looked at the other students banners. The "Let's go, Hogwarts!" banner seemed simple but not too boring, and then an idea came to Chaewon's mind.
Everyone were writing something similar to "Go Hogwarts!" or "You can do this!" but no one thought about wining the International Olympic games. Chaewon had an idea, and then she started to paint the Hogwarts logo at the bottom of the paper. It seemed very simple – there weren't any ornaments, only four house pictures. The Slytherin house picture was the brightest. Then she wrote:

Pyce and Hecate were not planning on participating in any of the International Magical Olympics, but they were quite excited for them nonetheless. Hecate cared a bit more about sports than Pyce, but Pyce cared more about crafts than Hecate.
This combined interest led the twins to the Great Hall, where numerous students across the four houses were working on posters, banners, and signs to cheer on the school at the games. Hecate dragged Pyce over to the Slytherin table, greeting a few of the students already there. The two took their seats and Hecate found a poster board that he deemed the best, plopping it in front of them.
"You're the artsy one, you tell me what we're doing." Pyce glared at their brother.
"And you don't have a creative bone in your body?"
"Absolutely not. Anyway. We should make it Slytherin themed. Cheering for the best house, you know." Pyce picked up nearby gold paint maker, decided better, and grabbed a pencil instead.
"I'm not entertaining that." The Gryffindor began making a very basic outline of the Hogwarts school crest with a sleeping dragon under it, smoke furling from its nostrils.
"It would be fun!" Pyce continued ignoring their brother and looked around for a red paint marker. Hecate rolled one over without mentioning it. Pyce did little more than give him a nod of acknowledgement.
"It's to cheer on the school, not your house." Pyce stated as they started to color the top left quarter of the crest red. "Feel free to make your own sign, though. I'm not stopping you." Once the first part was colored, Pyce nabbed up a green paint marker and started coloring once again.
"I'm stopping me. I can't do all the fancy drawing things you can!"
"Nothing about my drawings are fancy. Just- Doodle the house animals at the corners or something." Hecate considered for a moment before picking up a red marker and coloring in the top right corner of the sign.
Pyce soon finished coloring in the background of the crest, and then moved on to the finer details, the outlines, the animals, etc. Hecate was coloring the corresponding corners of the sign with the pain house colors. It was starting to come together pretty nicely, actually.
After the school crest was done, Pyce started on their dragon. Dragons were their strong suit in art, they loved doodling simple little ones on every paper they had ever touched. This dragon was rather more details than most of the art Pyce tended to do, the scales sliding smoothly together, the claws looking slightly worn, the wings folded just right. Pyce had never drawn a better dragon, if they did say so themself.
While Pyce was working on the dragon, Hecate started making little doodles in the colored corners of the sign. Gryffindor had little lions playing around, Slytherin had a singular, quite bored looking snake, it made Pyce laugh. Hufflepuff had a badger with a bow on its head. Pyce could not figure out why Hecate had done that, but they were too scared to ask. And Ravenclaw just had some poorly drawn eagles flying around.
Last but not least, Pyce grabbed the gold paint marker again and wrote in large, round letters 'GO HOGWARTS!' above the house crest.
Once it was all done, the twins looked at their creation.
"It's perfect!" Pyce chirped giddily. Their hands had smudges of paint, and there was a smidge of green on their cheek right under their glasses, but all the effort and mild mess was worth it!
"Remind me to not do this again." Hecate deadpanned.
"Your part literally looks fine."
"It literally does not. But whatever."

@ 25.1.2026 Honestly speaking, the girl had forgotten all about the events that would take place in the Great Hall that day, too busy under a pile of homework and lessons. On her way to the library, she noticed not a trickle, but a stream of students going into the Great Hall. Curious, as it was not a festival of special date, she abandoned the route to the library, and stepped through the doors. When she first entered through those great doors on the first of September, 2025, she was amazed by the sheer amount of floating candles and decoration. However, this time, whoever decorated the hall outdone themselves. Her mouth dropped open slightly. The room wasn't decorated like a Christmas bauble, but the amount of materials laid on the four long tables was shocking. Students sat on the benches, chattering and eating, as well as making something. She moved towards the Hufflepuff table and sat down. She didn't see anyone really that she knew sitting there, so shrugging, she pulled a poster board towards her.
Now sitting in the Great Hall with a bunch of art materials, the reason came to her. The IMOG was starting soon, and as a school of participation, she knew they weren't going to send off the athletes without support of all shapes and sizes. While she wasn't going, she knew vaguely who was going. Some older students, but not any of her brothers. Thank Goodness, otherwise she'd be hearing about it nonstop for the next forty years. Or until they die; whichever comes first. She chuckled at the morbid thought, and searched her mind for inspiration. Trying and failing, she resorted to looking at the other students' work. Some made brightly coloured posters, while others did craft. Finally deciding on her design, she got a palette and paintbrush, and coated her board with a pale yellow. If anything, she was going to make it stand out. Finding a print of the Hogwarts crest, she attempted sketching it on scrap parchment before gently and carefully copying it on the already dry layer of paint. The finished crest wasn't bad, and the girl was pleased. The years of art lessons had paid off.
Picking up a quill that could change colors, she traced and coloured in words in bold, GO HOGWARTS and YOU CAN DO IT on the top and bottom of the poster. After putting a thin layer of glue around the words, she chose an array of glitter: a deep crimson red for Gryffindor, yellow for Hufflepuff, sage green for Slytherin, and Hyacinth blue for Ravenclaw. Carefully positioning a glitter bottle so the shiny particles would land around the words, she tapped it gently and the glitter fell onto the canvas. Maisie did her best the split the words into four, so every house would have equal parts of glitter. Much as she would like it, it would not do to only put yellow and make it a house poster. On second thought, she decided to make a house one afterwards. School pride was important, but so was house pride.
Blowing off the glitter that hadn't stuck to the glue, she put the board at arms' length. Feeling it missed something, she quickly made tissue paper flowers and pasted them on the board. Not wanting to clutter, she only made four, of colours for each house. Deciding it was enough, she wrote her name behind the board and put it up front with other boards. Going towards the snack table, she picked up a Cornish pasty and after devouring it, returned to her seat. After putting the yellow clad banner she promised herself she'd do, she made her way out of the hall.
