Maxwell woke up in a panic from a terrible dream he was cold sweating his pupils dilated a showing of true fear though when his dormate made a comment Maxwell answered plainly with a smile. "It's just a dream don't worry about me" he proceeded with his normal routine with getting ready for the day he grabbed a book so he may read while he eats. He doesn't usually talk to the members of his house but if any ask questions he will smile and always answer kindly most are surprised at this given his lineage and upbringing. On his way to breakfast his nose was already in his book. As he was walking confidently he forgets the people around him he was too busy thinking of the words on the page and what he wanted for breakfast. I smile as i get my small breakfast i look to the Gryffindor tables noticing they are unusually full then he sees a quite lovely girl standing on a table he smiles and says to himself. "Charming they look fun definitely better than sitting alone." He grabs his courage and approaches the table he reaches it and says to the group with a kind smile. "Good morning everybody i was wondering if i could have a seat with you all this morning."

Adriel looks up and away from their newest arrival to find yet another person has come to join them. He seemed to be a few inches taller then Adriel was. His black hair was neatly tied back and even then seemed to fall down past his shoulders. He had a saphire blue eye and the other was covered by an eyepatch. "Oh wow. I wonder what happened to him... It must have been caused by magic since he isn't in the hospital wing." Adriel looked at his robes to find he was a Gryffindor.

With an inviting smile and an outward sweep with her hand she motioned to the table. "Good morning. Are you looking for somewhere to sit? You're more then welcome to join us I think?" Adriel looked to the others for conformation. She wasn't sure if they were keeping the search for the kitchen a secret or not. That sounds like a silly thought but you never know. She wanted to make sure the others were open to another potential kitchen hunter joining them. "My name is Adriel by the way. What is your name?" Adriel tried to keep herself from looking at his eyepatch. It was rude to stare but she felt an overwhelming curiosity well up in her.

The two girls across the table introduced themselves as Adriel and May in the most cheerful way possible, catching Ivy off guard. Why were they so nice? It was rather alarming, really. In her experience, the nicest people could be the most dangerous. She gaped at them for a second before answering Adriel's question.

"Yeah, sure." She shrugged. Ivy looked rather bored, but she was secretly rather excited by the prospect of searching for the kitchens, although she didn't show any of her true feelings to the group.

A Gryffindor boy, with an eye patch and a black ponytail, asked to be permitted to sit with them with a smile on his face. Ivy was beginning to feel uncomfortable. Was everyone usually so smiley and, well... nice? The girl was used life in Bellamy Manor, where there were only sneers and cold jibes in the place of smiles and compliments.

Adriel permitted the boy a spot, and Ivy gave the boy a once-over before nodding briskly at him. She opened her mouth to speak, but Adriel spoke over her, introducing herself and asking the boy's name. Ivy pursed her lips at this and waited for the Ravenclaw to finish before introducing herself.

"Ivy Bellamy," she told the boy. "I suppose you can sit with us, since Adriel decided it was so." The last part was said in a semi-spiteful tone, and she tossed her brown hair over her shoulder. Everyone seemed to be getting on her nerves today.

"Ivy Bellamy, I suppose you can sit with us, since Adriel decided it was so." There was a hint of spite in her voice as she spoke. Adriel cringed slightly realizing she's just stepped on the girls toes. Metaphorically of course. Adriel let out a soft sigh then smiled at the group again as she scooted over to make room for the boy to sit. "Yeah, sorry for not waiting for a group vote. Maybe we should turn this into a little club? Well not an official club but we could give ourselves a little name for fun." Adriel nods to herself liking the idea.

It would be fun to have an after class group to go exploring with. Even if they didn't find the kitchen they might find any number of secrets. Probably more so by accident then anything. That's why Adriel thought they should have a little group name. It may sound silly but she pictured this as an adventure. They could face anything in a magical castle. They were practically going on a quest. Or she liked to think they were. "We could call ourselves the Castle Crusaders maybe?" Adriel mulled over some group name ideas in her head.

May sat silent as she bites her bottom lip in nervousness but decides to quickly cover it up by chuckling.
“Yes we shall form a group if must but I rather have it kept open since everybody can join if they want. Besides it’ll send off a bad message if we form a club just like that....We will need to gather more recruits besides we are driven with the same desire so let the first musketeer decide what shall we do...meanwhile,” May clears her throat as she grins from ear to ear, stretching her hand forward to the fellow lad.

“Hello! I’m May Kingsley! I’m from Hufflepuff as you can tell. But don’t let it fool you. It doesn’t mean that it defines us entirely just merely-well...” May is loss for words as she had a conversation going and now she has lost her train of thought. Before shrugging it off, giggling some.
“Anyways nice to meet you! Hope we can become great friends and grow together.” The grin falls to a warm smile as she never really found herself putting that much effort out without realizing it. Tending to be oblivious of how she sometimes can be overbearing, but just wants to make friends and make them feel welcomed.

When Adriel suggested that they turned this... delightful little group into a club, Ivy could barely keep the disdain off her face. Clubs were for naive children who were the best of friends. Ivy didn't know about Adriel, but the Gryffindor was neither naive or best friends with anyone on this table.

"What an..." she hesitated, choosing her words carefully, "interesting idea, Adriel. But don't you think that it's a little too soon to be forming such permanent commitments?"

May appeared to share the same sentiment, although she was a lot more nervous in speaking out about her thoughts on the idea of having a club, tripping over her words and laughing nervously. At first Ivy nodded along at what she was saying, but when May began to speak of gathering more recruits, being driven by the same desire and musketeers, that was when she lost her completely. Biting back a smirk, Ivy raised an eyebrow. "Musketeers...?"

May went on to introduce herself to the newcomer in the same cheerful way she had to Ivy before warning him not to be fooled by her house. Ivy could hardly believe her ears. Who joked with a stranger so intimately? Well brought-up people did not act as May just had - at least, that was how Ivy saw it.

To make matters worse, May trailed off after informing the boy that being a Hufflepuff didn't necessarily mean that they were all... that they were all what? Nice people? Nobody even said that, was what the Gryffindor was aching to say, but she contained herself - only just.

Ivy's eyebrows arched even higher and she shook her head, her eyes briefly flickering upwards when the girl proceeded to tell him that she was looking forward to their friendship. To the Gryffindor, May sounded exactly like a stereotypical Hufflepuff.

"Only Hufflepuffs assume that everyone's automatically a friend," Ivy pointed out rather viciously. Forget what May said. The girl was the perfect stereotype of a Hufflepuff.

He stayed a little silent not wanting to interrupt there conversations he smiles and politely bows. "I am Maxwell Maximus im a first year its a great Pleasure to meet you all." He smiles and sits down a bit away from the ladies not wanting to be to close but close enough to talk. He sets up his small meal he picks up a glass and drinks his water. He began to think of a way to start conversation but kept coming to no conclusion. He says to himself in his thoughts. *I wonder if we could be friends that would be nice a few of them seem friendly.*

As he sits and listens he covers his eye patch with his hair. He began eating his apple enjoying its sweetness. He pulls up a little book and begin his light reading he smiles as he flips through the pages. He began to think of his loved ones missing them. He looks at the girls as he closes his book. "So what is this talk of going to the kitchens Ladies? Sorry i was kinda of listening i don't mean to intrude or to pry just curious is all." He smiles kindly.

Their little group at the Hufflepuff table was getting more crowded and crowded by the minute. Leanne squirmed awkwardly, as she was not used to such big gatherings. Before arriving at Hogwarts, she only had a small group of friends, whom she spent the most of her waking hours with. Now, students of all houses were going up to her, introducing themselves, only to have a single or two conversations with her, and drifting away. To her, it was extremely overwhelming. They're all just footprints made on the sand, she reminded herself.

Her words towards Adriel and May was suddenly interrupted by the addition of Ivy, a Gryffindor girl she had met previously. Their last meeting was rather short and awkward, and she hoped that they would get to know each other better in the future. But, one thing she barely tolerated, was the girl's blatant use of criticism that irritated her massively. Warm, Blunt, and Weird: those were the attributes Leanne could gleam from her last meeting, and she hoped that Ivy just had a bad start to her day.

"The kitchens are really hard to find...sorry, but it's true. Only staff members and house elves know the exact position." she scowled, when Ivy mentioned that. Wasn't it established earlier in their conversation; that she, May and Adriel were merely trying their luck in finding its location? And that they were using this 'excursion' of theirs as an excuse to bond together, while exploring the castle? Maybe the girl didn't understand the idea of friendship fully.

Leanne was about to retort back when another Gryffindor joined them, a boy named Maxwell Maximus this time. (Was their table actually that popular?). She offered a smile towards the new addition, and somehow, the mention of his name caused her to erupt in giggles. She could imagine the incredulous looks of the other occupants towards her inside joke. "Sorry, you name brings back a lot of memories for me...there was this place back in my hometown that was called Maxwell Food Center, and it served a whole ton of good food...If you recognize it, good for you! I wonder if you're named after it, or it named after you, since it's such an uncommon first name..." His appearance was extremely funny, with long hair and a eye-patch (was he aiming to look like a pirate for the rest of the term?)....

"I don't think we should turn it into a club, since it wouldn't attract much attention from the general student population. Let's just keep it between friends, shall we?" Adriel was a good conversationalist and a great friend to be with, but some of her ideas needed refining. If you wanted to start a club, roles would need to be delegated (welfare, logistics, design, for example; things that Leanne was extremely familiar with), posters would need to be put up, and the amount of paperwork and administrative forms was horrendously unending... something a first-year was totally not prepared to do. Even with a group of friends.

Leanne watched silently as Ivy started to tease May just because of her house and her over-welcoming attitude, and her poor friend (bless her rather thick head) was still unaware. She hoped at the other three students at the table were not that dense, as well. Dunderheads, that was the word used.

When Ivy remarked: "Only Hufflepuffs assume that everyone's automatically a friend," that was when she finally lost her cool. Storming over to Ivy, she remarked coolly, unleashing the side of her that almost made the Sorting Hat send her to Slytherin.

"So Ivy, you're saying that there isn't a single Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Slytherin like that, from what I gather, hmm?" Leanne kept her voice exceptionally light-hearted and neutral, using the tone commonly used for interviews.

"...and that every single Hufflepuff is like that, too? Including yourself, if you were sorted there?"

"So, may I ask, how May can 'assume' everyone in this castle is her friend, when she hasn't even met most of the school population yet? In the same way, could I assume that you're irritating, based on how you walk?" The last statement was a last-minute addition: Leanne didn't understand why she chose that to explain her point.

"And lastly, define the words 'everyone' and 'friend' for me, since I seem to have misunderstood your meaning. For example, what is the maximum data range you're referring to: everyone in first-year only, everyone in Hogwarts, or everyone in the world?"

Leanne crossed her arms, and patiently waited for the other girl's answer. All the while, her face was impassive, with only the slight squint of her eyes that could reveal her mood.

Ivy tried to keep the sneer off of her face when the Gryffindor boy introduced himself as Maxwell Maximus. She felt almost sorry for the boy - what had his parents been thinking? "Charming," Ivy told him, although she was thinking the exact opposite. She turned back to May and Adriel, opening her mouth to say something when Leanne, who had been silent for the whole exchange, suddenly exploded - that was the only word for it, the words spewing from her mouth like a steady stream of water. Ivy turned her attention from Adriel and Maxwell to Leanne, lips parted slightly in surprise. The dark-haired Ravenclaw seemed to be trying to keep her voice down, her tone straining under the effort of not yelling at her, but two bright spots appeared of the angry Ravenclaw's cheeks.

"So Ivy, you're saying that there isn't a single Gryffindor, Ravenclaw or Slytherin like that, from what I gather, hmm? And that every single Hufflepuff is like that, too? Including yourself, if you were sorted there?"

A slow smirk made its way onto Ivy's lips once she got over her initial surprise. She was yet to see this side of Leanne, and she almost enjoyed it. It was a rare day that the friendly Ravenclaw lost her temper. "The thing is," Ivy responded, sounding almost bored as she flicked her long brown hair over her shoulder, "I never even said all Hufflepuffs assume that everyone here is their friend, only that it appears to be a habit that only Hufflepuffs have. So sit down and do stop making a scene. It's giving me a headache."

This only seemed to infuriate the girl even more. "So, may I ask, how May can 'assume' everyone in this castle is her friend, when she hasn't even met most of the school population yet? In the same way, could I assume that you're irritating, based on how you walk?"

Ivy couldn't help it. She laughed. "Leanne, how does my posture relate to what we're talking about?" Now her tone was mocking, as if she were talking to a toddler. "And one does not need to meet everyone to assume that they are friends. The most naive people," here she fixed May with a piercing stare, "do so."

"Define the words 'everyone' and 'friend' for me, since I seem to have misunderstood your meaning," Leanne demanded. "For example, what is the maximum data range you're referring to: everyone in first-year only, everyone in Hogwarts, or everyone in the world?"

"Why don't you ask her?" Ivy pointed at May from across the table with a veiled smile. She wasn't really sure why Leanne had suddenly exploded the way she did. All Ivy did was state a well-known fact - everyone knew that Hufflepuffs were traditionally annoying nice people. Gosh, people could be so sensitive.

Adriel could not help the snicker that escaped her lips after Leanne giggled at the new boys name. Appearently it was caused by an inside joke but it still made her chuckle. That's an interesting name Maximus. I quite like it myself is there a story behind it?" Adriel asked. When he pulled out a book and began to read she figured he hadn't heard her or was just shy. She decided to leave him be but then he asked about the talk of the kitchen. We're planning on finding the fabled Hogwarts kitchen. Apparently there's more then charms at work here" She let out a laugh as her hand motioned to the food. That's when the atmosphere changed.
Leanne had exploded on Ivy. She was rather cross with how Ivy had been acting. Adriel shifted awkwardly in her seat. She wondered how they went from her ill thought idea to this explosion. She had to admit that her feathers were ruffled once Ivy spoke viciously to May. She never expected Leanne to explode on her however. She was silent for a bit of the conversation after all... Then again a kettle needs time to boil doesn't it. Adriel let out a sigh as she listened to the two bicker. She didn't understand why the hostility was so apparent in the two at this moment. Ivy wasn't being the friendliest but everyone has a bad day. Adriel hoped this all led back to Ivy having a bad day.

Adriel didn't feel to angry about the situation until Ivy turned the whole thing on May. She was targeting her and for what? Because she wanted to be friends with everybody? Adriel contemplated just what in Ivy made her dislike Mays friendliness so much...

"And one does not need to meet everyone to assume that they are friends. The most naive people, do so." Ivy's gaze was fixed directly on May as she said that. Adriel couldn't help the anger blooming. Ivy had went out of her way to shift the whole conversation onto May. She was targeting her at this point. "What's wrong with being naive? She's young, we're all young. Naievity is a stepping stone in the path to growth. There's nothing wrong with being naive it just shows there is potential for growth. Everyone is naive at some point in their life and it is arguably the best point of their life. Now I don't mean to speak for you May I'm sorry in that regard." Adriel gives her an apologetic smile before getting up and turning to Leanne and Ivy. Ivy I'm not sure what your problem is but it sounds like your just trying to start a fight. If your having a bad day I understand that but there is no need to take it out on others. And Leanne while I commend you on your efforts it seems Ivy just wants to rile you up. Confronting her in this manner is not going to do much else then lead to hurt feelings." Adriel was trying to use her best parental tone. This probably wouldn't squash the issues at all but at least it was off her chest. Though she was sure she would get a tongue lashing.
