The teams were so mixed up, with different schools joined together that Sara felt more dizzy pressuring himself to remember their names and faces when basic introductions (or re-introductions) were made. The other familiar face he knew was on the opponents side... a junior, Kiyoshi Sara secretly thought was an older year that suddenly joined Mahoutokoro. Ginyami being the only one he really could consider as a familiar face. Except even then was something new about him in the game. Being placed as a seeker despite being a keeper could be tough isn't it? Not that he didn't think he could handle it. But it had shown on his face rather evidently that he was worried for his … well.. someone he cared deeply for. Seekers were the ones targetted the most weren't they? He doubted the other wasn't able to read what the Beaters face was saying, whether or not they shared some words on it or not. This was the hardest part of the game really. But Sara only felt motivation to do his best to do his part in the team.
The new captains, under their guidance - Sara was passive and nodded along with everything they did. Following instructions obediently during strategy planning despite the two being much younger. One named Oonagh had curiously wild blonde hair that flies freely as much as her sprit does when she explains strategy. Her captain-partner … well.. Sara did his best not to stare too much. His name was Mamori.. undoubtably Japanese-like name.. and yet he in a way reminded him of their free spirited old headmaster, Aiko. In a way where they dress and walk so boldly inspiring that Sara was sure they'd give his neighbours back in Aoshima a mini heart attack. Still, to both younger captains, the taller intimidating beater was merely an obedient, quiet senior.
When their robes were changed, and they were seconds ready from the game starting, Sara - whom had a tough time glancing away too long from Ginyami, gave a knowing nod and the smallest, tiniest - meekest tense smile. As if saying saying a silent good luck, be careful.

In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice at disadvantage (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself). Ricochet damage is 75% of the original hit.
In the role of Beater, if an ALLY dodges a bludger during the round, there is a 20% chance that you catch that bludger with your bat and you send it at a RANDOM enemy target.
Note: For the rules lawyers out there: you are not considered your own ally.
In the role of Beater, if you critically hit with a bludger, instead of doing double-damage you do 2.5x damage. If you critically fail with your bludger attempt to hit, rather than having your bludger randomly target another user (including yourself or an ally) the bludger cannot target you on a critical fail (but it can still target your allies). On a re-target, there is a random roll for target and then a fresh accuracy roll.

Oonagh entered the Training Pitch with more confidence than should be considered normal for a lass her size. However it seemed that the blonde had not gotten the memo and therefore assuredly trekked across the dirt ground and met up with her team.
It felt good to say that. Her team. A smug grin tugged at her lips as she lazily held her broom draped across her shoulder and headed toward where a group of students had already gathered. A familiar face made her eyes light up in recognition as she stared at a tall guy with short hair that towered over most if not all of them (@Sara Kohana). "Oh it be ye! From simmer, when we crushed ye intae the dirt!" She grinned at him, happy to have him on her side this time around. He had seemed quite impressive then, he would likely not disappoint now either.
Her gaze flitted to another boy, who had also participated in that match and her finger pointed at him in excitement, with a gasp, "Oh an ye! Ye be the ane wha fell like-", she snapped her fingers dramatically for effect, "- richt awa', ken? Dinna be doing tha' the day, Ah hope?" She snickered lightheartedly as she regarded the rest of their team with similar, playful, scrutiny. Some of which she recognizes, few of which had left lasting impressions.
As their clothes were coloured, Oonagh was left standing with an outfit in soft purple and golden hues, as was the rest of her team. Her gaze found Silas (@Silas Norwood), whom she had once more dragged along to another Quidditch game and bit her cheek, before uncontrolled laughter burst from her. "Whit ane wardrobe update, Eejit an sadly no eno' fowk tae witness it, it suits ye so well, ye ken?", she continued as her laughter ebbed down into giggles. It was odd to see his usual wardrobe changed in such a way, it felt like a somewhat stark contrast to the colour scheme the boy usually went for.
She however recognized Livia (@Livia Machavariani) in the opponents team and huffed indignantly. "They going tae weep when we be done with 'em!" She promised herself more so than the team itself. Well she was sure that Silas would not mind kicking Livia down a notch either. The girl seemed to take much enjoyment in nagging at them for not fulfilling expectations in the headliner; as if she had not received the memo that they were hardly trying to maintain the expectations laid out to them.
As the girl - Oonagh somewhat recognized her from the summer's practice match against the school those two boys belonged to, went over to call out the fact of the game starting soon, Oonagh found herself getting ready and sent off the second strings to their benches. For once she would start from the air, something that would hopefully become normalcy soon. It earned her a pat on the head from the person he made acquaintance with before when they both had been sharing the bench as part of the Gryffindor team in the previous school year, respectively as second string beater - herself - and him as the second string keeper, now however part of their team as the second beater.
Part of her battled with whether to glower and glare at the older student, until that thought melted away and she gave a cocky grin. "Ye wul be stack on the bench all game, Ah hope ye brought yersel' some scran," she responded to the boy (@Nicholas McCowan), before finally mounting her broom and kicking it off into the sky.

Damien walked down onto the quidditch pitch excitedly as this was his second unofficial quidditch match and he was as super excited as he got to be on the team of two of his friends, Mamori Anezaki and Landon Matthew’s who were both on the Hufflepuff quidditch team. Damien was excited for multiple reasons but the main reason he was excited was he would get to hopefully see how Mamori and Landon compare in playing style with each other as well as to him, he wanted to see what was different as well as what could be similar. He walked onto the pitch noticing that both of them were here yet, but most of the team was so he figured he would sit down and wait as he tried to get the jitters out of his system. He didn’t know why he was so nervous maybe it was a mix of excitement or just overall nerves but he needed to ground himself to get the jitters out. He hummed a quiet soft tune to himself as he set his broom down and looked out on the pitch excited that he would be starting again like he did in the summer, that was one of the most exciting games he have ever been apart of so he looked forwarded to this game. |

Landon had never really been one to participate in unofficial Quidditch matches, but he was excited for this one. It was made up of people from different places and different houses, which made it more exciting. Also, he wasn't playing as a Keeper this time, which was weird. Landon was excited to try a different position for once, even though he wasn't sure it was the right fit for him. He was happy to try something new though, so he was going to be enthusiastic either way.
Walking into the Quidditch Practice Pitch with his Silver Arrow slung over his shoulder, Landon smiled and approached his team. He didn't really know them well at all, especially not as well as he knew his Hufflepuff Quidditch Team at this point, so he was excited to get to know the new team. His eyes widened as he saw Damien, and he smiled widely. "Damien! Long time no see," he said with a grin. "I'm one of the starting chasers, which is strange for me, but I'm excited anyway."
Seeing that the match was about to begin, Landon nodded to Damien before mounting his broom and kicking off. He grinned as he left the ground and flew in the air. He was happy to be up in the air again.

What a beautiful day for sport. Well, Quentin would have that thought rain or shine, storm or snow. He had become skilled at quidditch, and though it still didn't eclipse his passion for muggle wrestling, knocking people off brooms itched the scratch nicely. He had heard a little rumor about this unofficial game, and he chased it down until they let him play. He was glad to see his fellow Beauxbatons teammates, Kit and Raphael, had done the same. Though this time, Raphael was holding a beater bat. "Raphael! Are you with me today? Wanted a taste of the best quidditch can offer? As they say in English, 'Once you go beater, you can't go back.'"
Kit, on the other hand, was cross-examining their captains. Quentin wasn't sure if he had seen them before; one summer game for the international schools was not enough time to note all the important players. The schools should really consider hosting these things more often.
One captain, Sato, was it?, said he was a seasoned broom racer and he was well-studied in quidditch. As seasoned and well-studied one could be at age twelve, even a twelve-year-old at this height. But boy, the kid sure didn't believe what he was saying. Quentin, still barely taller than the younger boy, for now, slapped a hand onto his shoulder. "Captain, I believe in you. Quentin Gagné, at your service."

Insane, Julian must've been insane to agree to do this. After having given up duelling to devote more time to his NEWT work, he'd found himself a little bit bored; eager to pick up some new skills and do something that went outside the realm of studying. A pick-up Quidditch game had sounded like the perfect remedy. He could learn something new, have some fun, and wouldn't have to commit to anything beyond a single match.
There was a single snag in the plan, and that was the fact that Quidditch was an insane sport. It required its players voluntarily spent multiple hours flying way too high while extremely heavy balls attempted to bonk them in the head. Julian couldn't afford to be bonked in the head, his brain was too important to him - he really liked learning and maths (yes, the muggle kind), and any job that he might want to do in the future definitely would require having a functioning brain.
As the seconds ticked closer to the beginning of the match and Julian marched across the pitch with his team, borrowed broom clutched tightly in his fist, his mind started playing out every conceivable scenario that would get him out of the situations (including faking a sudden migraine, and the pitch spontaneously combusting and requiring a prompt evacuation), but nothing happened to offer last minute salvation, and Julian wasn't about to back out without extenuating circumstances. He'd made a commitment.
The next thing he knew, he'd kicked off and was hovering up way higher than any human had any business being outside of an airplane.
This was happening.

1. In the role of Chaser when you attempt to catch a passed Quaffle (such as when the Keeper has possession of the Quaffle and passes it to a teammate) you have advantage (meaning that it is rolled twice and you keep the better option) on attempts to catch if the opponent team attempts to intercept.
2. In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.
Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.
3. In the role of Chaser, if you have a contested quaffle grab and a contested strength roll between yourself and another user is in progress, unless they have the same broom, you would be the victor of the contested quaffle grab. In addition, rounds where you are successfully carrying the quaffle in an attempt to score, you only take half-damage from bludgers and blatching attempts.

As Jake mounted his broom, he really wondered what he'd been THINKING signing himself up for a Quidditch game. His friend Julian was going to do it, and Jake had been eager to spend some more time with him - he'd been so busy this year, even WITH dropping duel captaining. NEWTs were no joke, and being a prefect at a school like Hogwarts was no easy feat either.
Unlike some of Jake's friends like Jack and George, Julian wouldn't be graduating yet, and so next year while Jake was out in the world trying to follow in his friend Alan's foot-steps towards magizoology, Julian would still be at Hogwarts. Getting to spend some time playing a game with his friend before it was too late SEEMED fun enough, though perhaps Jake hadn't been thinking deeply enough about it at the time.
So distracted had he been, that it wasn't until his team lent him a super speedy racing broom that he remembered that he barely knew how to fly.
Oh, he KNEW how. An girl named Ruthie had helped tutor him when they were younger, because he'd been so terrified to get on a broom back in flying class. But he had always been frightened of it, and the second he was no longer required to do it, he had put flying far behind him.
He'd gotten so much braver since then. He'd joined the dueling team, became a prefect....He wasn't afraid of everything like he'd once been. Maybe flying would be like one of those things? But as he kicked off the ground on his broom and felt his stomach drop as he soared upwards, he realized that he still REALLY didn't like flying. Jake held his broom tightly and swallowed.
This was going to be a long day. The game would only end when the Seeker caught the snitch.
Unfortunately, the Seeker was Jake.

Taliesin was practically buzzing as they made their way out onto the pitch; though she was hesitant to name is the buzzing was from excitement or nerves. Sure, she'd watched the game be played a handful of time, but she'd never actually played. That must've not mattered as much when it was just a pickup game and a mashup of students from all over. At least on her own team she knew Livia, but the majority of her teammates were either upperclassmen from other houses or from entirely different schools altogether. That hardly seemed to phase anyone though as those around her seemed more then happy to organize and plan, something she was plenty grateful for with her lack of experience.
Once everything was settled and organized and clothes had been transfigured to practical uniforms, Taliesin dutifully took her place on the bench, broom clutched tightly in hand. She was the spare Keeper. That she could certainly handle, with Livia as the first. Definitely probably the wisest choice; plus, it would give her time to watch and learn. Taliesin wasn't exactly sure how much practical experience Livia herself with the role, but she certainly exuded the confidence of someone who knew exactly what she was doing.
Bright eyes swept between her fellow second string players before looking towards the rest of her team on the pitch, teal colours practically glowing against the backdrop of gray, rainy skies. The snake wiped a bit of the wet from her face and smoothed back her hair a bit. What miserable weather for a game, she thought to herself.

Ginyami would have liked to have been notified that his clothing was going to be changed before the Hogwarts student had taken the liberty of changing it for him, but he held his tongue on the matter, not wanting to cause a scene for something so relatively trivial. He was glad he had chosen to wear something other than his usual school uniform, as he believed if anyone had tried to change that, the changing color robes of Mahoutokoro might have considered that as an attempt to tamper with the robe colors in order to reflect better grades than one actually had.
Ginyami certainly didn't want anyone to think he was trying to do anything of that nature, but he supposed he couldn't have expected the Hogwarts students to know about the policy at their school and the dangers of messing with their robe colors, so he let it go. He just wished they would have been more considerate, but that was foreigners, for you. Always thinking they knew best.
Speaking of foreigners, one of them had started to yap at him - a very young girl with wild, pale hair - and it took every bit of Ginyami's extensive study of the English language to even realize she was speaking English, let alone what she was going on to him about. He smiled cheerfully, but despite the continued, steadfast smile, his face darkened when he recognized her mentioning to Sara that they had 'crushed them in the dirt' as well as Ginyami's fall from the last unofficial quidditch match he had been a part of. He recognized her from back then, but she had been the benched beater on the opposing team which had been Hogwarts'. This time she was on his own team, so he reminded himself to play nice; especially since she would be accompanying Sara as a first string beater this time.
"I...certainly hope not," he chuckled softly, dipping his head in a slight bow of what might have been a polite apology or at least concession. "Yoroshiku onegaishimasu - I'm counting on you. Thanks in advance."
He repeated the bow and the Japanese phrase to Sara, though without the added translation in English. Having grown up with the other seventh year, he knew the beater could understand him perfectly well since Japanese was their shared first language. It was interesting how, after their last game, Ginyami had noticed something different in Sara. He had actually seemed to enjoy himself that time rather than having simply been pressured into playing his quidditch role by his schoolmates, doing what he did best as a beater. And this time, he would be doing it again. Would he enjoy it just as much this time, Ginyami wondered? What had changed and why?
Well, he supposed there would have been plenty of time to find out later. The important thing was that Sara had voluntarily chosen to play in this unofficial match alongside him, reprising his usual role even if Ginyami wasn't reprising his own. Ginyami recalled how Sara had so fiercely protected their seeker, Miharu, during one of their better games and he had no worries that his peer would do so again even if he had been chosen to be the seeker this time. He knew he could trust Sara to do his best to knock away the dangerous iron bludgers from himself and everyone else on their team during the game. The question was...could Ginyami trust himself?
After his last two matches had ended with him being knocked from his broom within the first round each time, he had suffered quite heavy blows to his ego and dignity. It had been almost a month since his last quidditch match and while that one, like the previous, hadn't gone well for him, that had been fine. He knew keepers didn't have all that much dependent on them with most of the game points riding on the snitch which was why he hadn't been a priority to save from his fall either game.
This time, however, was different. This time, having been chosen for the position of his team's first string seeker of all things, a position he had never dreamed he might have been selected for, he had a great deal more pressure on his shoulders. It was the position Valentin had always held on his own team, so far as Ginyami knew, and while he would have liked to tell him about it, he hadn't heard from the Durmstrang seeker in some time. A shame, but it couldn't have been helped. It might have been nice to perhaps ask for some pointers, but he wondered if Valentin would have even had any to give.
Besides...Ginyami recognized his opposing counterpart. He didn't exactly seem...intimidating. The dirty blond young man, though he knew him to be his same age, appeared much younger, especially as Ginyami watched him take off. He could have been wrong, but the Hogwarts student almost looked like was going to be sick simply from leaving the ground. Well...that was going to be interesting. Not that he wanted to judge a book by its cover or count his chickens before they hatched...but Ginyami was starting to have a good feeling about this game.
As the rain started to patter down around and upon them, the Japanese wizard looked to the Mahoutokoro student on the other team - Kiyoshi Sato - and wondered how he would perform. Since the teams were extremely mixed, he supposed it wasn't too strange one of their own schoolmates had ended up going against them, but it was still peculiar. He wondered if the very tall second year had chosen to go up against his upperclassmen or if it had been random. Regardless, he offered him a respectful dip of his head as he had offered Oonagh and Sara.
And with that, the game was about to start. Catching Sara's eye, Ginyami caught his nod and his tiny, meek smile and felt the worst of his doubts and fears soothed. He returned the smile with a bright one of his own. Well, however the game ended, if Sara could smile at him even a little like that preceding it, then Ginyami knew it would be a game worth playing out.

Reducio- In the role of Seeker when you have found the snitch, if someone attempts to use Alley Oop to help you find the snitch, you will not have disadvantage. However, with this broom you do not gain the +1 chance to grab the snitch for rounds that the Alley Oop is used. To clarify, each round someone attempts to grab a snitch they get a +1 to the attempt and this stacks. There is no bonus (or stack from this round's attempt to grab) to grabbing the snitch.
- In the role of Seeker, if an opponent attempts to Bludger or Blatch you, there is a 20% chance that you veer out of the way the last second and another enemy player at RANDOM is targeted instead.
Note: The new target still gets their normal dodge attempt. This is not considered to be an auto-dodge, in fact this roll is done before any accuracy rolls are done.
- In the role of Seeker, when using the search action if you critically fail on your search you get a re-roll in an attempt to find the snitch. In an attempt to grab the snitch, if you critically fail on your attempt to grab the snitch you get to re-roll your attempt to grab the snitch.

Another day, another game of Quidditch. He wasn't even part of the Slytherin Quidditch team, yet here he was, picking up his broom for the second time to play a game of this exciting sport. Sure, it was unofficial, and the teams were mixed between houses, but that was all part of the fun for him. It allowed him to play with people he'd usually only play against and make some new friends in the process.
There was also less pressure to perform well, which he liked. Nobody would be yelling at him if he didn't score or worse, if he was knocked off his broom. Everybody was encouraging instead and hoping to have some fun in their free time.
Of course, he was still trying his best to win.
So, as Percival entered the Quidditch training pitch with his broom in his hand, he was smiling from ear to ear and ready to get the game going. He looked up at the darkening sky and felt the raindrops strike his cheeks, but even this depressing weather did not dim his joy or make him want to turn back.
The sound of Evelynn's voice snapped his attention from the clouds to the older Gryffindor student. She was their referee today, so he quickly made his way over and listened to her covering the familiar rules. No wands or spells, and be careful not to get caught cheating. The latter turned his smile awkward, as he thought back to his penalty lap during the last game of unofficial Quidditch.
He had to be better about that.
With the final signals given and his instructions from his captain in mind, Percival finally mounted his broom and tightened his grip on the polished wood. His new Comet 180 felt like such a joy to fly, and this was his chance to put it to the test once more. After levitating for a few seconds, Percival moved up into the air and readied himself.
Waiting for the game to begin.
