Second string or not, she sat on the sidelines with her heart flying for them. Every goal in yellow felt like a little sun blooming in her chest. She clutched her broom, whispering silent encouragement into the wind. Today, currently, her team was leading — and that was enough to make her glow.

She really hoped it would stay that way.

Landon was much happier with his instructions for this round and he cheered for Gabriele. This was in his comfort zone, but he would do whatever the team asked him to do to make their chances better to win. As it was, they were leading by a lot of points and Landon was excited. He remembered the last match against Gryffindor, and this was much more in their favor this time. Landon watched as the team continued to play, sitting on the edge of the bench from excitement. He loved this sport so much and it was nice to see their team playing so well.

A small frown.

This wasn't much fun without the competition actually gunning for the Quaffle. But then, looking at how Atlas had gone and wreaked havoc through the Gryffindor attack did give her an idea for a little bit of fun.

"Yo guys, get the Quaffle I'll be right back!" She all but yelled to her Chaser teammates, before swooping forward -- not towards the Quaffle but towards the Gryffindor seeker. Can't have them getting the snith and pulling off some heroics that way, after all.

To her surprise and delight, it seemed that she was not the only one who had seen the chance to switch gears; as both Atlas and Daphne seemed to have hard the exact same thought.

"That was brilliant!" she said, after having executed the blatch. "Maybe we should try doing this more often"

After a terrible save duty, Eugenia was on for a glorious scoring streak. Her against the Gryffindor chaser, Alliasta, she was no match. Eugenia scored each time, the last being the best as she managed to be quick enough to score twice. 60 more points for the Puffs, a considerable advantage. She had to do this. A win for the team was a win and after so many consecutive losses, it was a much needed break from normalcy.

While both sides decided to cheer for their colors, Only Oonagh from the gryffindors was loud enough to even reach Ethan's earshot, clearly Frederick needed to amp up the intensity. Unlike their lion counterpart, the badgers were quite fabulous at their cheering.

The quaffles for the round seemed heavily biased in their favour towards the badgers as Mamori managed to steal the quaffle all 5 rounds, leaving Aliasta with nothing but dust and empty air in her hands as she did her best to snatch the quaffle from the badger at least, however, not even her best effort managed to afford her that victory.

Somehow the badger chose to not use any of their beaters, which costed them a rogue bludger towards themselves as it aimed straight for Camilla Carter, one that the girl in yellow easily Managed to dodge. The highlight of the game came when Ethan from the gryffindor took towards the sky with two bats and aimed a backbeat straight at Camilla who was moments away from getting hit until Hufflepuff's star beater took it on herself to intercept the bludger and send it racing towards Alliasta, who didn't quite manage to escape it's range and went down like a bird, that too with no saving grace in that fall, she was out of the game. The next bludger from Ethan came for Camilla and despite her best attempts, Sage failed in doing her task as the bludger went straight for camilla, hitting the poor girl hard.

Watching the field with anticipation, Pax grumbled under their breath at the lions' lack of success with the quaffle. That would be something to work on for the next game. Avery was still having no luck with the snitch, but at least Ethan landed a hit on Camilla. It was much more unfortunate to see Alliasta fall out of the game though. They were so caught up in the action they didn't realise they were still sharing a broom with Kora, so nudged her slightly as a reminder.

The tension of the game was growing by the second. Sage scanned the air for the bludgers, grimacing when one went flying towards her teammate Camilla. "Sorry!" she shouted when she failed to get there in time. She needed to focus. Forget everything bad, stop focusing on everything too good to be true, and just finish the game. She realized this was the longest she'd ever been in a game, normally by now she'd be icing where a bludger had landed.

Mamori's Quaffle debut turned out spectacularly with all five shots finding their mark. During that last possession he even managed to flash a taunting smirk at his opponent @Alliasta Holista who would fortunately unfortunately meet their demise via Sage's bludger moments later. The point gap was approaching that sweet spot where, even if Gryff’s Seeker snatched the Snitch, it wouldn’t make any difference. And with the Badgers having this match firmly in the bag, Mamori could only conclude that his pre-game prayers to the wind gods must have actually worked this time.

Ethan was so over it by now. His temper is getting pretty damn thin from seeing how often the badgers keep on scoring, until finally, he successfully aims the bludger at Camilla. He breathes out a sigh of relief, murmuring to himself, “About time!” as he shakes off that previous frustration.

The blonde girl sitting beside Frederick on the reserves bench nodded back at him. She seemed far more relaxed about the match than he was, sitting with her feet up and stuffing herself with gummy bears coated in marshmallows. Maybe it was because she had more experience with Quidditch than he did. Maybe it was because, despite her young age, she already seemed like some kind of athlete, while he was just a little kid.

Either way, when Oonagh offered him some of the sweets, Fred decided to accept, hoping it would help him relax a bit. He scooted along the bench to sit closer to her so he could reach one of the treats she’d brought. “Sure. Thanks.” The boy grabbed a handful of Skittles, filling his palm with the colorful candies and lifting it toward his mouth before tossing them in.

However, in doing so, with his attention split between Oonagh, the match, and the sweets, Frederick ended up choking. He coughed hard, spitting a few Skittles onto the grass as he sprang to his feet and thumped his closed right fist against his chest, trying to catch the breath he’d momentarily lost. Completely distracted from the match now, Fred couldn’t boo or cheer for anyone. All he managed to do was cough a bit more and then take a deep breath, chewing the remaining Skittles still in his mouth before swallowing, his eyes slightly watery as he watched Hufflepuff score more goals and one of his teammates get knocked off her broom after being hit by a bludger.

“I’m fine, I’m fine.” He glanced sideways at Oonagh, trying to act normal as he sat back down on the bench. To avoid prolonging the embarrassment, Fred poured a few more Skittles into his hand and started eating again, talking through his chewing as he turned to look at her. “Do you think we’ve got any chance of winning?”
