No, its like a roleplay so the thread can go till later on, we can pretend like the characters get the gift on Christmas day?

Right, fair! Perhaps we could even have a sort of reward? maybe best gift or something like that, voted by people in the thread. like an unofficial errand...

And can you start that unofficial errand, later on, when the gifts will be delivered, can u hold votings for the best?

Yea sure, I'll start the thread. Perhaps you could add to the main thread saying that all gifts have to be delivered by 28th Dec? Voting could be over by the 12th, and all the finalizing done by 13th/14th?
I'll not be active for a while after that, so those would be the best dates, but we could move around the deadline for voting a day or two.
Also, maybe the deadline for registration could be 15th instead? and all assignments given by 18th?
Another idea-
this is something we do in our school, we do secret Santa, and the day before winter break starts, we all sit around and open the gifts, guessing who they're from.
Perhaps we could do something like that? with a backdated thread on the last day. Everyone gets mysterious owl to arrive with the gift they have to give....

basically the timeline i'm thinking is-
15th dec- last date to register
18th dec- assignments given
28th dec- gifts to be delivered by this time OOC
7th Jan- RP's to be over (need 2 rp's from each person, one for giving the gift, and one receiving)
12th- End of voting
14th- gifts distributed
