Lounging in his chair, basked in the tropical sun, Anthonie made polite conversation with the students and professors around his seat. Legs crossed nonchalantly, the rays of sunshine had heated him lazy, as much as the long distance had dwelled his appetite. One would think hunger was was appropriate after portkey travel, but glancing at the wide array of food, from Indonesian to Australian, he found he had little stomach for all of them. Even the melkkos was reserved entirely for other attendees. A pity, considering how delectable they all looked.
It was a good thing he had a far bigger appetite for mingling.
The mingling, however, would come to him. Soon after he had settled down, booted footsteps clinked across the platform as someone was already reaching his side. Sat poised as a crane, he did not turn, not yet; as the figure stopped a good distance away from him, he allowed her the opportunity to properly approach before addressing her.
“You are the headmaster of Uagadou, aren't you?”
Her speech was deliberate, controlled, yet shreds of giddy nerves slipped through. Breathless, almost. He would have expected another adult, but the uncertain edge and high pitch of her voice suggested otherwise. Glancing to his side he smiled curiously to find a young girl, barely old enough to be a student and one he assumed to be a first year. After his years of teaching at the school and the especial care of younger students, combined with the nature of the child’s question, indicated that she was not a member of Uagadou herself. He smiled curiously; what had gotten her so interested?
“Well,” he said, “My reputation must precede me then.”
Angel was her name. And Angel, certainly, was an enthusiastically inquisitive girl. He laughed at her question, the sound crisp and clear as a waterfall under the summer sun. From the Tugela Falls of his homeland and the Maletsunyane Falls of Lesotho, to the many small, crinkling streams and that one downpour of a waterfall at Uagadou, that laugh resembled all of them yet held nothing but a benignant sort of amusement. “Yes,” he replied, “That would be true.” He had long loved the caverns of his Alma mater, cool in the summertime, protective come winter. Carved into the Mountains of the Moon themselves, Anthonie, from his matriculation to his graduation and return, had wandered the stone-hollowed halls of the hallowed peaks. Buildings and castles may be elfin themselves, but there was nothing as magical as being one with something as august.
“Here,” he said, reaching for one of the finely packaged desserts. As alluring as it was to the nose, the scent of cinnamon strong and warm, the flavour of milk inviting and smooth—Anthonie had to decline himself. Instead, he extended the bowl in the girl’s direction, beckoning for her to come closer as he leaned outward. “Angel,” he offered, “Have some melkkos.”
When he had satisfied O’Connor’s curiosity—and hopefully her sweet tooth, Anthonie would wish her a most pleasant excursion out in this tropical utopia and a fond farewell to follow. She had come as an unexpected surprise, yet not an unwelcome one. Uagadou, despite its age and grandeur of wandless magic and self-transfiguration was a humble school, never drawing much attention in international events and preferring to keep it as such. That notion would never last with Anthonie as the new headmaster. Angel was already doing his job for him.
He was about to return to his table mates when he paused, spying an approaching peer. As she neared his side of the table, he pulled out the chair beside him and asked : “Would you like to join me, professor?”

After the welcoming speech had ended, the place came back with the delightful laughter of a song and dance. Most people were headed to the food, but Skylar only laid her eyes on the woods and huts.
She could feel Rose walking near, but still deep in silence because she couldn’t take her eye off things. Her hand, without realizing, still held the tip of Zephyr’s shirt, following him behind.
“Rose, look!” She pointed her finger to one shack that had the fresh young sprouts cover the rooftop. It had been proven how much pure organic material was used in the village.
She put her foot on the wooden walkways crossing the marshland and felt a new tingling inside while the water was moving. When she saw some local herbologists tending something magically, she was immediately thrilled and ran to them.
She could smell the herb powder and find any plant around her. All the greenish color she liked was surrounded by naturally painted some colourful flora. She didn’t want to be rude to the locals, but she couldn’t stop her weird behavior. She had to smell anything refreshing she could find.
After letting out her long, pleasing exhale, she took a quick, calculated what plant had the most numerous. Only a few noticed to see the dark green from the stem to its leaves, she could tell it right away.
“It’s dittany,” She expressed a big smile and glanced at Rose, but finally realized no one was near her.
Skylar got lost from the group because she had too much excited. She ran back to the crowd and waved her hand to see if any of her friends could notice her.

The first thing Hans noticed about the Isle of Divination was the staggering heat. It pricked at his skin and burned at his spirits. The canopy above was parted to show a clear blue sky, and as freeing as the calling from the cloudless mass of cerulean above was, the temperature was undoubtedly oppressive. He glanced at Astrid, hoping she was at least faring better un the heat, but he supposed for a girl who spent her fifteen years in Norway, this might as well have been the fires of hell incarnate. “What a stark contrast to Scandinavia,” he said offhandedly, observing the obvious as he squinted his eyes against the sun, “No wonder they told us to dress light.” In a t-shirt and cargo shorts, he was thankful he heeded to instruction.
As with tradition since the summer of 2023, they had decided to room together, mostly with their Durmstrang school mates yet this year they welcomed three students of foreign schools, in the spirit of Headmaster Maynard’s inclination towards diversity and open-mindedness. Those intentions were soon revealed as the sing and dance of welcoming drew to an end and the man himself stepped forward onto the stage. Words resonating across the platform his speech was comprised of the usual welcomes and pleasantries. Until his gaze caught in the distance and he paused.
Perhaps he would have been missed by any stray student, but Hans turned just un time to spy a hooded figure on the edges of the gathering where the portkey were. Soon he hastened his footsteps and darted towards the woods, to be dismissed as a trick of the light. Hans knew better. “Astrid,” he hissed under his breath and furrowed his brows, not speaking any further words but cocking his head curiously as if to ask what was that? Possibilities raced through his mind as both he and the headmaster maintained a state of normalcy. He folded his arms and leaned back on his chair, casual, as if the sighting was nothing more than a figment of his imagination.
As Maynard excused himself with the reason of ‘pressing matters’, Hans turned towards Astrid with a raised brow. As he spoke, there was a tinge of humour to his voice, yet below that facade was all the seriousness in the world, “Why must we always stay so vigilant? For now, I say we just relax.”

Everyone in their group was all wearing that awe expression on their faces and Zephyr couldn't blame them. The place was truly something he could only dream of. He nodded his head at Angel, who was still in disbelief about the place. "I know, I need a minute to wrap my head around all these things here." Rose, on the other hand, whispered her reaction to them, and he had to chuckle at her choice of words.Mention: @Skylar Astor, @Rose Pearce, @Ryder Hawke, @Angel O'Connor
He felt a pull on his shirt, and when he turned slightly to see who it was, he saw Skylar, who was standing behind him, but she was also busy looking around and marvelling at the place. He slowed his pace and refrained from moving too much to accommodate her, not wanting to lose her in the midst of the crowd. Ryder, the other guy in their group, was just silently following them around, so he just smiled at him in return.
Meanwhile, Angel was suddenly talking to a man he was unfamiliar with. Since he was standing nearby, he overheard the exchange and caught words such as Headmaster of Uagadou. Zypher's eyes widened once hearing that and walked a bit closer to Angel. "Did I hear you right? That man was the Headmaster of Uagadou?" He was curious about that school and was hoping he would be able to visit the place as they did with this place.
Skylar suddenly pointed at something to Rose, and when he followed where she was looking, he saw young sprouts of whatever that was. He was about to follow the girls to satisfy his own curiosity, but the smell of herbs hit him, which distracted him from where he was supposed to go. It was so refreshing to see green all around him. It was relaxing and good for the eyes. Next thing he knew, Skylar was waving from afar, looking lost...? "Hey, over here!" He called out to her and waved his hand so she would notice.

Angel looked at Zephyr with a bit of a smile. She didn't react to any of his possible antics—she figured it was unlike him—but simply having him there steadied her. It supported her in grasping the great surprise of this encounter. A headmaster. In that kind of style. She was on the verge of bursting into laughter at the huge difference between what she anticipated and what she actually saw.
"Yeah," Angel said with a soft chuckle, "it would have been really hard for me to recognize him if I didn't know that he's not wearing the typical headmaster's robes."
She looked at Anthonie again, analyzing the very laid-back but at the same time very neat and stylish outfit: a blue polo with light khaki shorts. The blue of the polo was very bright, and actually, her mind was telling her it was very similar to the color of the sky on a clear morning. The shorts seemed good for a slow walk, the type of clothes a person would wear if he or she were not going to a formal event but rather to the beach or for a stroll in the park. The thought of a headmaster who is also a wizard wearing such a thing did not even cross her mind. She moved her body a little, changed the position of her bag strap on her shoulder, and was still trying to find a link between the practical, almost vacation-like outfit and the prestige of his post.
Angel inhaled silently, and her curiosity was as sharp as ever.
"The robes you wear at Uagadou red with golden headbands right?" she asked. "I am not quite sure, but I think that is what I have read, or maybe I had thought?" She was trying to pinpoint the source of her information by mentally going over the words she remembered from the text she had read or heard. "And if not, then at least that's what I remember."
In her mind, she was picturing those ceremonial gowns: bright, fiery red fabric dynamically fluttering in the wind on top of the mountains where the school was located. The golden element would reflect the rays of the sun—something noble, something ancient. The fact that Anthonie was now wearing just a simple polo and shorts shattered the whole idea and made her feel like she had stepped beyond the curtain to see the regular, everyday side of the story behind the myth.
Her hand came up to her face to tuck away the hair that was falling out of the braid, and her look changed from one of being critical of her own thought to one of amusement at how much they had all fantasized. It was quite entertaining, Angel thought, how she had filled in the blanks using her imagination.
"Kindly don't hesitate to correct me if I am wrong," she said softly. "I am always more than happy to hear the real versions of things."
Angel gently dropped her hands to her sides and loosened her collar, silently inviting with her gaze any explanation or correction he might want to give.

She had been warned. "Dress lightly. It's so humid there, you'll see." Viktoria had been on a world tour during her gap year, and she had spent a few weeks in Southeast Asia. "Good thing they're not doing this during the typhoon season, it would have been raining almost all day, everyday." So, Astrid had left her heavy coat, chunky sweaters and warm tights in Durmstrang. "The heat can be so bad, especially since you're only going for a few days, it's either your body won't have time to process and you'll be fine, or your body won't have time to adapt and you'll die." The girl was wearing a long white dress, light and flowy. She had been warned, but the air was heavy with humidity in a way she wasn't expecting. She tied her hair up in a bun, revealing the undercut she was maintaining since her first year.
Viktoria had gifted her a fan, that she had bought in Japan, and Astrid had fortunately brought it with her. Hans being next to her, she was making air for the both of them. "What a stark contrast to Scandinavia" said the boy, squinting at the harsh sun. “No wonder they told us to dress light.” The girl smiled. "Right? Viktoria had warned me, from her time in the area, but I was not expecting that humidity." Despite the heat, Astrid had hope for these three days. Everything would be fine. They were on the Isle of Divination if something was going to go wrong, Seers would have known about it, right? She was getting tired of slugs, fires, attacks, riddles and other stupidly dangerous stuff happening.
Movement caught her eye. A hooded figure near the portkeys. Fuck! Just when she was thinking about how thing should go well this time. She rolled her eyes as the figure disappeared into the jungle. "Astrid," Hans hissed, brows furrowed. "Yeah, I saw," replied Astrid with a sigh. The end of Maynard's speech sounded normal, but it seemed rushed. And then left suddenly, probably to figure out who that person was. How fun. “Why must we always stay so vigilant? For now, I say we just relax.” The girl snorted, a small smile tugging at her lips as she said "Why would we even think that it would be a relaxing trip? Something always goes wrong."

Rose was looking around her as she wanted to explore and look at everything. She looked up towards the sky to figure out if she would be able to stargaze here as well. But it seemed to be unlikely because of all the trees that were present. They were so big and tall that their leaves and branches were easily blocking the view from the sky although it has been cleared up now. She sighed thinking she still could try to find a spot anyways. She started to walk looking around moving away from Skylar without realising it.
She then spotted a really pretty flower and wanted to ask Skylar if she knew which flower it was. She looked around only to see no one around her. She had drifted apart from her friend without realising.
She sighed. She looked again at the flower before heading back towards the crowd. She would ask Skylar later about that flower.
Rose was small compared to the people surrounding her but as she was walking she still succeeded to spot Skylar also alone and who seemed lost as she was waving her hand to get spotted by the rest of the group. Thankfully Zephyr seemed to have spotted her since he was waving his hand back at her. Rose who didn't want to get lost too quickly headed towards Skylar. It was not to hard for her to make her way through the crowd since she was little. However Rose was scared Skylar would left her spot before she was able to reach her.
"Skylar! Wait!" Rose called hoping for her friend to hear her.
Rose quickened her pace as she started to feel nervous in the middle of the crowd being alone. She was not lost since she knew where her comrades were but she had to join them quickly if she didn't want to really get lost.

Ryder kept walking with all of his friends, unable to say anything. Angel’s energetic voice kept him from getting lost. He just kept following that voice and observing everything around him taking in the beauty and spectacular setting of the place.
Suddenly, he heard an unfamiliar voice, he turned to see some old wizard talking to Angel, wait-he said headmaster?
Oh, That must be the headmaster of Tenusa. Ryder heard Zephyr whisper to Angel conforming if he really was the headmaster, Ryder Chuckled, “Sure looks like him to me, I don’t know I just think he was with the way he talked. I like him though.”
He noticed Zephyr calling someone over. This place was crowded they needed to make sure to not lose anyone so Ryder counted the heads, one, two….wait someone was not here.
“Hey! Where did Rose go?”
Ryder looked over for her. This is probably why he really doesn’t like crowdy places but with luck Ryder spotted Rose making her way towards them.
“Guys, we really should stay close to prevent any mishap alright? Hold each others arms or something?”
Now Ryder was having paranoia again so just to make sure he counted everyone and satisfied that everyone was here he nodded to the group.
“All Clear, no one is missing. Though now lets stick close?”
Say whatever you want about me. Just don’t touch what’s mine.

A young kid who was 4'8" in height decided to go to the Isle of Divination by portkey, a magical way to travel, which he had only recently obtained. He arrived at a small shack, and right after his feet met the ground, he lost his equilibrium and had to support himself against the rough wooden wall. A short laugh that was a bit of a mixture of dizziness came out of his mouth. He was thinking to himself how lucky he was that he had become familiar with that method of transport in time—his mother was traveling only by portkey and, therefore, would not take any other transport. She used to say it was fast, safe, and "built character." After being moved from one country or island to another in a flash of colors and wind for several years, he finally admitted that she was right.
The boy inhaled deeply and with his hand opened the door of the portkey shack. The place outside was so breathtaking that he could hardly draw a breath. He came out and inspected the area. Everything around him was green—new and full of life green. Hills were going down slowly to the sea with a white beach making the border for the sparkling water under the sun. Apart from that, tall trees were swaying gently in the warm day's wind, and their leaves were shining as if they had bits of the sun inside them. Even the air was different and better and had a slight floral scent, which he could not identify.
There were also some people who, like the boy, had arrived only a few minutes ago and were now strolling down the stone path. Watching the moving actions of others, he came to the conclusion that he himself was still, so he chased them with all his might using his legs, which, although short, were capable of fast running. After a while, the crowd ended their walk in an open space. They had lanterns on trees whose branches were forming a sort of canopy over them.
The headmaster of Tenūsa Academy was there waiting for them. He welcomed the newcomers with a bright smile, and his voice was soft but strong and could be heard a long way from the clearing. The boy was absolutely attentive to him and could feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness in his chest, which he likened to a couple of trapped birds. This was the beginning of something new, something really important, and he was willing to go.

Not too long to see someone had noticed her waved hand. She saw Zephyr wave his hand back to her, but she wasn’t quite hear what he was saying. However, she was so glad that she wouldn’t be left out for the entire first day of her trip, so she ran quickly to him, squeezing through the crowd to where her group was.
“Thank god! I thought I lost there!” She said as she was trying to catch a breath.
Skylar didn’t realize Rose was also missing until Ryder counted the members. She moved her head all around to find her friend as she walked with the group. Then, Ryder finally spotted her.
The girl seemed concentrated, trying to get back with her friend as she called Skylar so loudly.
“Over here! Hurry!” Skylar shouted back to her.
When the chaos part had ended, Ryder suggested that the members should stick together from now on. Skylar nodded, agreeing to his terms, but there was still some question in her mind.
“Alright… so who will lead the way?”
The sight was clear that there was too much of a crowd. Skylar had no idea where to go next since she didn’t want to get lost from her group again. It felt so horrible to picture herself standing awkwardly for so long in the crowd.
She looked for someone who she felt like she know what she was doing, but Angel seemed to be ocupied with an adult man who looked… fashionably noticeable.
So, Skylar decided to ask the two boys in front of her because there was no way in a merlin’s name she had any leadership in her veins. She was a girl with half anti-social, and Rose was just a little shy person.
Then, she had a second thought she shouldn’t put all the responsibility on just one person.
“Never mind…” She sighed. “We can just… walk together.” She grabbed Rose's arm in arm and picked a tip of Ryder's and Zephyr’s shirt. “We’ll walk behind you two.”
