As soon as Taylor said she was Irish but didn't have an Irish name neither Rose was understanding her. Though she precised her parents were not born in Ireland whereas for Rose all her family was Scottish and they all have Scottish names. How unfair. Although the choice behind her name was quite deep as she recalled what her mom explained her.

"Where do your parents come from?" Rose asked curiously to Taylor.

"Yes I totally understand you. I too wished to have a Scottish name when all my family got ones." she grinned.

"How unfair. she added half chuckling.

Then she slightly leaned forward eyes sparkling to curiously asked to Taylor.

"What Irish name would you have wanted? Or would you choose for yourself?"

When Taylor got her candies Rose couldn't help but smiled and slightly laughed at the view in front of her. It was an adorable view. Taylor looked like an happy child surrounded with new things she was impatiently to discover.

She then picked a flavoured beans.

How brave of her Rose thought.

"I was always so scared to get a bad taste of these ones that I wouldn't dare to eat it but once my brother and I did a bet and if I were to lose it I had to eat one flavoured bean everyday until the package is empty." she said laughing.

"Obviously I lost." she pursued still laughing remembering that time.

Taylor put the bean in her mouth before saying she got rotten egg and started to coughing and drinking a lot of water. Rose couldn't help but laugh at the scene.

"Are you okay?" she asked Taylor as she was catching her breath.

"I know this tastes awfull." she added calming herself.

Then Taylor took a chocolate frog.

"This one is supposed to taste WAY better." she reassured Taylor who found it indeed good.

Then Taylor mentioned about having heard a sound while she was looking at the window.

Rose looked towards the window as well and chuckled thinking of what it could have been.

"The frog from the Chocolate Frog. It has probably escaped." she finally said.

Maybe it was the first time for Taylor to eat those. Rose wanted to ask her if her parents were wizard but she didn't want to seem rude so she carefully said.

"Oh by the way are both of your parents wizards?"

Taylor smiled. She loved talking about her country. She was quite patriotic.

"My mom is from Sweden, and my dad from Belgium. Weird mix, but they moved to Ireland before I was born." She chuckled. "They didn't give me an Irish name for that."

She sighed. "If I could've chosen...Laoise. I think it's really pretty. Guess it'll be for my kids if I'm a mom one day. But that's too far in the future to think about it now."

Though, she doubted. Maybe that noise was the frog...but she had this feeling it wasn't. She didn't want Rose to judge her and think of her as a crazy girl. She wasn't crazy. She could feel that something was wrong.

What could it be ? The train was moving normally. She looked in the corridor silently. Nobody. Huh. Did she fall asleep ? Was she having a nightmare ? Or was something weird going on ?

And should she tell Rose ? She seemed smart. No. She should stay calm. This was probably nothing. She decided to keep it to herself and answer Rose's question.

"My mom is a witch, but my dad is a muggle." She smiles. "But he never minded it. He's always in awe of my mom, which is really cute."

Taylor answered Rose's questions. As Taylor was talking Rose frowned a bit. Something had changed in Taylor's behaviour. She was not as talkative as before and seemed to be concerned or worried of something.

Is it because of the noise she said she heard?

However Taylor tried to remain still by keeping answering the questions. But from the little Rose has seen of Taylor she quite could tell in a normal situation Taylor would have asked her back the questions. Or was she wrong? But Rose felt like having a new Taylor in front of her.

Then Rose frowned again a bit more than before. Something was different than before in the atmosphere. Taylor was right.

Rose tried to look outside of the window and the corridor as she was carefully listening to any uncommon sound.

How could have she not noticed it before? But because when the noise occurred nothing had changed inside before. However...

The atmosphere of the compartment felt a bit heavier than before and the lighting were crackling as well as slightly flickering.

What is happening? The train is still normally moving, isn't it? Rose was wondering what was going on.

Nothing is supposed to happen on that train, right? She started to get worried. And she looked at Taylor trying to find support and reassurance. She was going to tell her she wasn't crazy and that something was actually wrong.

"Taylor." said Rose on a serious tone.

"You were right about the sound. It wasn't the frog! That's something else. Something is going on. It's strange the atmosphere feels heavier than before and the lights are flickering and crackling as it shouldn't be."

Then as the train was still moving Rose said almost whispering.

"It's going to stop..." something was coming to stop the train.

And suddenly the train stopped. Rose widened her eyes and looked at Taylor. She didn't know whether to feel excited or scared. She had no idea what was happening but now Rose's body felt tensed and it was as if an alarm were ringing to her ears. That was giving her such a headache she had to close her eyes. She was sensing something magically weird and strong coming close as she forced herself to open her eyes and looked at the door of their compartment.

Taylor was scared...but mostly excited. The train had stopped. She knew something was wrong, that the noise she heard wasn't nothing, and even less the frog.

"But what was it ?" she wondered to herself.

She looked out the window. The trees didn't seem to move anymore. She couldn't hear the rail noises anymore. She could still see the smoke, though. Yep. Train stopped. The lights were still flickering, and a rush of adrenaline went through her. This was gonna turn quickly into a very reckless Taylor-like situation.

Poor Rose, though. She seemed really afraid, closing her eyes as if it could make this moment go away, and Taylor wanted to comfort her. She moved to sit next to her and gave the little girl a hug, after a moment of hesitation.

"You know," she started, "I have an idea to help you be less scared."

That wasn't exactly true. The redhead had no idea if her idea would help her new quiet friend. But she was willing to try. "Distraction might be the key !" she thought.

"You know, maybe we should investigate," she said, looking at the compartment door. "This could be really exciting. I wonder what could be out there."

She took out her wand and stood up, hoping for an equally excited answer to her reckless (and most likely, stupid) proposition.

Taylor went to sit next to Rose thinking she was scared. Actually she wasn't that much. Although she appreciated Taylor's gesture she didn't want to be mistaken for a scaredy cat.

"Thanks Taylor. But don't worry not that I'm scared but my head hurts as if it were going to explode." she said almost in a whisper.

She tried to overcome it and to focus on what was surrounding her to ease the beating ringing alarm like in her head. Rose was wondering what was happening. She hasn't imagined for a second a train ride to Hogwarts to turn out like this. Of course she was curious about what was happening and Taylor's proposal about going to investigate on what was going on wasn't a bad idea. However, it could be dangerous. There was an amount of magic in the air, strong not dark but really strong. They didn't know what it was and where it did come from. So going outside into the unknown is obviously thrilling but also risky. They shouldn't be reckless in that kind of situation. Plus they didn't know much about spells to defend themselves at least for Rose. She heard few from her brother but she didn't know the wand movement resulting them to be useless.

"I'm also curious on what is going on, but we have no idea what is outside neither we know how to properly defend ourselves. That could be dangerous." Rose said to Taylor while looking out of the window and then at the door of the compartment.

Of course if Taylor was to go out by herself Rose wouldn't let her and will come with her hoping for nothing bad to happen.
But Taylor was already standing up her wand out ready to go and by the look on her face she seemed really determined. Rose sighed before chuckling a bit.

"I guess there is no other choice." she said more to herself than to Taylor as she stood up ready to go out.

The full train was full of magic as she opened the compartment door and went out in the corridor where the only light came from outside as the light bulbs were burnt out or just turned off.

Taylor was holding back from running everywhere. Her first adventure, without even leaving the castle. That was so exciting !

She realised she was wrong about Rose. She didn't seem that scared, after all. More like...worried to get in trouble. So she wanted to reassure her.

"We won't get in trouble," she said. Not her best work, to be fair. But she didn't know how else to word it, or what else to ask, so she thought that would be fine.

She quietly walked out of the compartment. There were a few students outside of theirs too, but they were at least a few meters away. She looked around. Most lights were out, but a few lightbulbs remained lit up. She tried to remember that spell she read about in one of the schoolbooks. No, now wasn't the time. Maybe the person who was driving the train could help, or a professor. Either way, they had to keep moving. Staying here wouldn't help.

"We should go talk to the other students. See if they heard anything."

A pause. She remembered Rose was a little quiet. Maybe she'd want Taylor to take the lead on the whole talking part.

"Do you want me to go talk to them, or we do it together ?"

Rose noticed how Taylor was excited. She couldn't help but smile internally despite the situation they were in. She could have found herself with someone who would have been dramatic over the situation but thankfully Taylor wasn't. However her enthusiast about going to the unknown like this could be almost reckless.

She should be more careful thought Rose amused by Taylor's enthusiast but also worried for her.

As soon as they both found themselves in the corridor Rose saw there were other students wondering what was happening. She thought of going to her brother but she didn't know exactly where he was and looking for him was maybe not the best as she didn't know what was happening and what could be out there. However he might be worried for her. She was taken out of her thoughts when Taylor suggested to go asking other students if they heard anything. It was actually a good idea plus who knows they might found other people brave enough to go exploring with them.

"Yes that's a good idea." said Rose still in her thoughts. Usually Rose wouldn't have gone to other students but in the situation like they were finding themselves that was one of the best things they could do so Rose would take it upon herself and overcome her shyness.

She appreciated Taylor concern about her being rather quiet and shy but she wanted to help as well.

"Thank you Taylor. But don't worry we can do it together!" Rose answered Taylor with a gentle smile.

She also wanted to show Taylor she could be a friend on who Taylor could rely on especially in situation like this one.

"Let's go." Rose said to Taylor before starting to walk towards the other students.

Taylor nodded at Rose’s smile, relieved she wasn’t alone. She seemed braver than the redhead thought, in a good way. She was glad to have met her and hoped that they were friends.

As they walked toward the long hallway, something shifted in the air. A sharp metallic clunk echoed from further down the train, louder than before. Not a normal train noise.

She stopped suddenly. “Okay, nope. That wasn’t just the train.”

She swallowed, glancing toward the dark part of the corridor. She wasn't scared, no. Excited, totally. She would never admit that a part of her was very nervous. What if it were dementors from the Askaban prison ? She had only seen those in the books, and she was almost certain that it wasn't that. What if they never made it to the school ? That would be a shame. Taylor was really excited for the classes to come.

“Did you hear that? It sounded like it came from the driving car.”

She noticed that the other students were silent too, whispering nervously. Great. At least they were even less alone in this.

Taylor whispered. "We should definitely go check. There must be a professor or someone who can help. I don't know. What do you think we should do ?"

A New Adventure Begins PV Taylor Price
Rose and Taylor were walking down the corridor to go to the students asking for help or at least if they knew anything more. Although Rose tried to behave brave deep down she was quite scared of what was going on. It was very unlikely something such as would happened yet it had to be the day she was heading to Hogwarts. She tried to hide her nervousness as she was not alone they were all on the same boat. Moreover being a scaredy cat wouldn't help at all so she had to pull herself together. After all her mom was a Gryffindor even if Rose was convinced she was not maybe some of her mom's braveness was flooding in her veins and that was the time for her to prove it.

Rose was suddenly taken out of her thoughts when a metallic clunk was heard. It seemed as if someone or something had bumped -more likely- had hit the train.

"What was that sound?" asked Rose a bit worried something bigger than expected was happening.

"I'm not sure where it did come from, maybe yes the driving car..." she answered Taylor thoughtfully. Rose was really wondering what was going on there.

Everyone went silent in the train hallway almost as if they were scared to make any noises. It could be understandable Rose was almost not daring to keep breathing when she heard Taylor whispering to her they should go checking on the driving car.

She was right if they wanted to know what was occuring they had to start looking somewhere. And maybe as Taylor said they might passed by a professor or someone who could actually help them.

"Yes you're right we should go and see. I don't think we have any other choices if we want to know what's really going on." Rose whispered back to Taylor as she was starting to walk.

However just then Rose noticed something different with the carpet. The texture and the colour had changed to be more stiffed and more whitish as if it were washed out. Rose frowned. It wasn't a good sign. Magic felt darker than before. More present around them.

Taylor decided to run, hoping Rose would follow. She bumped into other students, saying "Sorry!" over-excitedly the whole way there.

She noticed the stiffer carpet. So she stopped and kneeled. She shivered. She felt the cold watching over her. Maybe she should've worn a scarf, or a warmer coat. But again, she couldn't have known.

She put her hair down, hoping it would warm her up a bit. The red curls did help a little, but not that much. She touched the carpet.

"Seems stiffer. Carpet isn't stiff." she says. "Are you cold too ?"

She looks at Rose. She could feel that the girl was trying to be brave, but that deep inside, she was also scared. What if they were in danger ?

She was mad at herself. She should've learned more spells before arriving. At least she could be useful. Right now, she didn't feel that way. She felt useless, and felt the need to do something, anything, that could help or unlock the situation.

They stopped in front of the door that led to the driving car. The redhead tried it : locked. "Merlin...it's locked. I'm trying to remember that spell I read about in my book."

Taylor glanced at Rose, hoping that maybe she'd know. But she probably wouldn't, she thought, since she said she hadn't read the books beforehead. She paced in front of the door, deep in thought.
