We brought up the tree after halloween , took down the halloween stuff the day of halloween as soon as it hit 9pm. We just put ornaments on the tree on thanksgiving but the lights and the village and the "elves" have been put out way before, so really the only decorating I've done recently was the ornaments (I hate this part the most, taking it all down, repackaging them in several layers of plastic bags due to how old and fragile these ornaments are.. (20+ years old, some of my ornaments painted by my dead grandmother (my mom's mom) before she died several months later, my brother has nothing from my mom's side of the family nor my dad's- sadly)
THE POINT OF THE STORY IS- In the end, I hate having to package up all of the fragile stuff, but part of me hates it because when it is broken, because I have butterfingers sometimes.. that could destroy the stuff that is sentimental to me and my mother. She wants it out, I want it buried under everything else. I dont want to break anything, I don't want to decorate, I don't want to clean up. I want to leave it all alone so nothing more breaks, nothing extra has to be done, none of it lol.

Then to do the same with the village since my (great)grandmother apparently was made of money from her husband she married?!? (family issues so one thing led to another and eventually my (great)grandmother was moved around nursing homes and yada yada because her daughter- the only one still alive- was not... uhh.. responsible with the money.. .. so uhh our money for stuff from my (great) grandfather is nonexistent.. THE POINT IS- my (great) grandmother had a lot of money in the 60s-90s and it only went downhill in the 2000s. She spent the money on [brand] bear toys and houses/buildings, wanting to pass them down to us. We had a lot but uhh.. we were reckless when younger and now all we have is the [brand] bear tree, a few [brand] bear houses and one [brand] teddy bear.
The business isn't gone, they just closed their three locations though so.. trying not to dox myself but like they were expensive and looking at how much they are sold on ebay- we ain't ever getting the sets back together
