Imagine this. You're away from home, lets say staying at a hotel, and you're watching the news. By your house in the forest, firefighters have been doing controlled fires. You haven't been worried about it but now as you're watching the news, suddenly the area your house is in is put on TV. Why? Well because the so-called controlled fire became out of control and is making a fast track towards your house. This is what could happen during a controlled fire. Controlled fires have been becoming more and more unsafe. They've been becoming out-of-control and risking the lives of people, nature and animals. Also infecting the air and the "inexperienced" crews causing the "controlled" fires to become out-of-control.

Since controlled fires started, the lives of people, animals, and especially nature. In order to make a controlled fire you would need something to burn which in that case you would go somewhere dried out. So firefighters go to the designated area and light it on fire. But once the fire becomes out of control, the assigned area and more are burned, damaging nature more than needed. After that happens the fire could spread and start burning everything in its way, including houses, people, and any animal that didn't have time to escape.

Our air that we breathe in everyday and survive off of is also being polluted by the controlled fires. Fires are a major cause of air pollution. The smoke from the fire mixes with the air. Once the fire is out of control or burning a lot the ashes and smoke will start falling and covering the sky, causing us to breathe in poisoned air. Sometimes this triggers people with asthma to have asthma attacks. Also the smoke from fires when you breathe it in, raises your chance of having cancer.

Even though controlled fires are helpful the inexperienced crew isn't. Controlled fires should have more experienced firefighters to do the work. You would think that everyone would make sure that the crew has at least done this more than one time and when they did start a controlled fire, it was successful. But people being people, they don't think of that and send out the inexperienced firefighters. An example of this is the Lower North Fork fire. This fire was started by an inexperienced crew in a dry and windy area. This fire quickly became intense and difficult to control fire (aka a crown fire) on March 22nd, 2012. Before it was contained on Apr. 2nd 2012, it had killed 3 people, destroyed 25 houses and forced thousands to evacuate.

With all things considered don't you think controlled fires aren't as good as they seem? Putting inexperienced firefighters in charge of these "controlled" fires, infecting and poisoning our one of our sources of survival(air), and risking the lives and homes of animals and people is only a handful of reasons why the controlled fires seem to good to be true. So maybe lets put a stop to these fires that are intentionally being set and putting us all at risk.
