XXXXX๐“ฅioleta was surely a bit bored. These events always seemed to reach a certain point where sheโ€™d just be completely bored out of her mind and the brunette would just prove herself to be the wallflower she was.

Her hair looked a bit frizzy now, her dress was a bit crumpled and her feet were starting to hurt because of her heels. They clicked as she circled around for a moment, as she was on her own again, as in most balls she had attended over the past couple of years.

She had made the mistake of not bringing a purse or her trusty satchel and simply relied on the dressโ€™s pockets, which simply contained her wand, some lipgloss and a black ballpoint pen. Though she really should have brought her journal.

The brunette was extremely close to simply leaving the event, as maybe sheโ€™d enjoy spending some time in her room more than this event that seemed like some of her precious time wasted.

Until she spotted a fellow wallflower she had interacted with at the previous ball, Mr. Archer Duncan. Fellow snake, headliner member and third year. She thought for a second before approaching the young boy. It was an odd sight, really. A young boy leaning against a corner looking more or less casual, but simply not participating, looking and observing.

He wore his usual clothes and she raised an eyebrow at that. Still, her heels clicked as she walked to the corner. A small nod was all she gave to him, after a few moments she finally spoke โ€œDuncan.โ€, was all she said. โ€œItโ€™s all such an odd sight. You ought to wonder if theyโ€™re all here because they want to be or for other reasons.โ€ she said, gesturing towards all the students. Her tone was nonchalant and she spoke her thoughts. She was honest. Some didnโ€™t like that, however, Violeta wasnโ€™t the type of girl to care about peopleโ€™s thoughts.

He had found him. Zophyr had found the right person, thank any gods that existed out there. For a few moments, as the blonde boy turned to look at him silently - Zophyr's heart jittered at the sight; somehow those eyes were even more stunning when they were looking at him - he worried he'd assumed wrong, that he'd messed up, that he was making a terrible mistake. But after a few seconds (Zophyr of all people couldn't blame him, considering he was late), the mystery boy spoke. Stars, his accent was endearing in an entrancing way.

"I am," was the fourth year's answer. At least this was in character for him, the short sentences and preference for quiet over words, though usually it was by choice and not by starstruckedness. Maurice laughed, which somehow sped Zophyr's heart up even further - distantly he worried he might have a heart attack if his friend didn't stop being so drop-dead gorgeous - and he felt the urge to join him in laughter, at the insanity of it all. Nothing made sense tonight.

Zophyr was not stupid. He had fallen for people before. He knew what he was feeling wasn't particularly normal and platonic for someone you had only just met in real life. But it wouldn't last, it had to just be the thrill of the moment, the excitement of finally meeting him. He had to ignore it, it would go away eventually, it had to. Zophyr liked Maurice too much to have everything end and disappear like it did for Ren. No, this was him being silly and hopelessly romantic as usual. He could flirt, but it was nothing more.

Even if Maurice's compliment had his face burning. Even if he couldn't stop goddamn staring. Even if he wanted to hear Maurice keep talking forever, and he felt way too hot for an October night (global warming, what could he say).

"Thank you." He grinned at Maurice's mention of not having brought his guitar. "That's fine. I wouldn't have wanted to bring a fragile instrument across the English channel either. Besides - it means we have an excuse to meet up again, doesn't it?" Alright, he was getting the hang of speaking, this was good. It was fortunate he was more comfortable in French than English. "Have you eaten? I think they're onto the desserts now, but we can grab a bite before it's too late. Though I must admit I've got quite the snack in front of me already." Ah yes, a typical Zophyrism, flirting as a coping mechanism; he felt immensely stupid. Yeah, this was fine for friends or strangers, but - well. Maurice was something different. He could only hope it wouldn't immediately scare him off.

The little group made their way through the ship; it was truly splendidโ€”everything from cracking floors to floating candles. Fred was leading the group as a true hero or leader, followed by the two lovely girls, Ally and Maisie. Marcus was willing to take up the rear.
They were walking down a corridor, with old oil paintings hanging on the walls and mist so thick that you couldnโ€™t see your shoes. The others were walking in front, chatting, but something was strange โ€“ the hair on Marcusโ€™s neck stood up, and he took a moment to gather his thoughts. He could somehow feel it; the corridor was enchanted, and when he thought about it, the corridor was too long and twisting for a ship of its size. He looked around and tried to make sense of it all, when suddenly Fred made a little โ€œwowโ€. Marcus turned his head towards where Fred was standing, and, right before them, a wide hall welcomed them in. Marcus smiled and said silently: - โ€˜off course โ€“ I would be disappointed otherwise.โ€™

The hall was decorated in a maritime way, with seashells, maritime lanterns, old and stained tablecloths, old and bent candlesticks, and much, much more. Fred spotted somebody in the crowd, clearly it was clearly somebody he knew. Marcus only knew one of them, or you could say he recognized. Rosaline, a fellow first-year Gryffindor, actually, he had never talked with her, only greeted her in passing, and of course seen her in the common room. Quickly, he turned his eyes away, not to be mistaken for staring.
He let them wander for a moment, taking in the starting party. People were talking and laughing, generally having fun. Now and then, Marcus would catch the eye of someone he knew, and they would mouth a silent โ€œheyโ€ to each other. Beside a round table close to the back of the hall, two people were in a full-blown discussion; it was Ripley and Elspeth. He had just taken the first step towards them and made himself ready to hear what all the fuss was all about. Almost automatically, he looked back over his shoulder. He saw that the other had found a perfectly placed table close to the windows. He immediately stopped in his tracks, turned around, and put on a perfectly proper smile.

They were standing behind the chairs, smiling casually at each other. The tension was broken by Fred sitting down, and Marcus smiled politely, waiting for the girls to sit before he would. The chairs were soft and very comfortable. Marcusโ€™s stomach rumbled a bit, especially after glancing over the menu. It was a fancy dinner, and finally something light and elegant, notwithstanding the heavier everyday food served in the Great Hall, but this was really nice, and Marcus admitted to it with a slight sigh. As usual, Fred was a quick one and while serving himself some food, he would state; - โ€˜Guess Iโ€™ll do the honors, then.โ€™ Everybody, including Fred himself, was laughing out loud because everyone knew it was so typical of Fred. By that gesture, the spell of seriousness was broken, and everyone started to eat. โ€“ โ€˜Merlinโ€™s Beard.. okay, this isโ€ฆ wow Mamma mia, finalmente qualcosa di decente!(oh my goodness, finally something decent)โ€™ He realized that he had slipped into Italian, he cleared his throat, a bit embarrassed but abused; - โ€˜Er - sorryโ€ฆ. Good food tends to short-circuit my self-control.โ€™ Maisie might catch the little glint of pride in his eyes.

The dinner went very well โ€“ there was a lot of talk and laughter, suddenly Fred dropped his fork with a clang on the table, with an expression of somebody who had forgotten an important appointment, and just as suddenly expressed: - โ€˜Oh. The card!โ€™ and whipped out the card from the sailor from before, and he looked a bit serious and curious, before asking: - โ€˜Heyโ€ฆ are yours doing that too? What do you think it means?โ€™ Marcus recognized the card immediately, he took it out of his inner coat pocket and studies the card; - โ€˜If youโ€™re meaning that the words are disappearing, then yes, my card is doing the sameโ€ฆ but the what it means that is another matterโ€™ he turned the card, trying to apprehend what was going on, but so fare without successโ€ฆ
Action: - studying the card closely and trying to understand the magic behind it

While devouring his purple cookie, the boy listened attentively to Verity, her question catching him off guard as his gaze wandered over the decorations of the boat. Even his mothers hadn't asked him this in their letters, although they asked him many other things. It felt so obvious for him, that he never thought he would be asked about it one day.

"I like people, activities, and the classes are really cool there. For me, it's not even a question, I think it's fantastic !"

*But it's true that, now that I think about it, many people don't necessarily know about magic from the start.*
Landsey paused his incessant thoughts for a moment, carefully considering how to make his point of view clear. He knows his frankness can sometimes be hard to take, and apparently, according to his family, some people at Hogwarts get offended easily when blood status is mentioned. Not that he cares about it himself, but he had to be careful.
*I hope I'm not gonna make any mistakes.*
He continued, a calmer smile on his lips, his pointed teeth slightly protruding.

"But I understand that it's hard to believe, or conceive, when you haven't been immersed in magic since childhood. I hope you'll get used to it anyway, and that you'll absolutely love it !!"

Curious and attentive, he turned his attention to Lyanna, awaiting her response at the question of Verity. She was a year ahead, if he had understood correctly, and learning from elders was always valuable, for him. Calmly, he grabbed an unused chair, and finally sat down, his height shrinking by half, and so his imposing form.

Landsey gives his opinion on his class, the school, and take a chair.

Maurice would admit to being at a bit of a loss. He had imagined this meeting a million different ways, sparks flying, hearts soaring. He hadn't anticipated this strange disorientation, a kind of dizziness that made everything dream-like and false. It was like the world existed in two parts: before seeing Zophyr's face, and after. Some kind of undefinable change had been imprinted on Maurice's life, and it took him a few moments to come down from the shocking rush of that fact.

Once his head finally stopped spinning, the world came back in startling clarity. Blinking rapidly, Maurice attempted to get his heart to stop fluttering and the flush on his cheeks to die down a bit. He attempted a soft, wonky smile. "I would not need an excuse to meet up again." Despite the romantic lilt in his tone, the words were fueled by truth.

He had spent the better part of his time since that fateful letter attempting to hone his guitar skills for the sake of wooing Zophyr, but it became clear now that there was no need to perform. The real fear did not lie in his material skills, but rather in his social skills. He had burned far too many bridges through his bluntness and tendency to leave others behind when things got hard. For a while, Maurice had been able to stuff down the guilt of it all. But in recent years, it seemed the young French boy was beginning to grow a heart. He didn't like it, this abrupt ache in his chest that had begun guiding his actions. He much preferred ignorance.

Maurice hadn't realized how hungry he was until this moment. The mention of dessert prompted a low vibration in his stomach, and he nodded vigorously. His enthusiasm was quickly replaced with surprise, however, at Zophyr's words brought a fresh round of flush onto Maurice's pale cheeks. He cleared his throat, glancing off to the side. "Right. Yes. Dessert is good." This, too, was a new sensation. Warmth so clear and sharp it hurt.

As Rosaline took a bite of her shrimp, she looked across the table and smiled at Leo. She noticed that his eye color had changed back to black, though she actually liked it when they showed different colors. Wanting to see the color shade for a little longer, she recalled the memories she had with Leo. Maybe it was because every time she saw Leoโ€™s pink eyes, it had always been a good memory, and she enjoyed those times with him. She couldnโ€™t help but smile a little, thinking about it.

Their chat went smoothly. Leo joined her in discussing the topic of the mysterious sailor and the ship. She chuckled at his remark, โ€œI definitely support your speculation.โ€ Rosaline didnโ€™t know whether the event organizer added the elements from Halloween, or the ship came with all the decorations that resembled a haunting but elegant atmosphere. She looked around the room again and said, โ€œImagine if there were a giant octopus under the lake. Though it might not be very interesting meeting it.โ€ Her imagination always went a little wild when it came to Magical Creatures.

Seeing all the delicious dishes on the table, she took some pan-fried scallops onto her plate and ate them with a fork. Every bite was precise. The taste of them was fresh and juicy. โ€œI wonder who cooked all the food? These are so good,โ€ she said, appreciating the effort the cook had made. Rosaline loved tasting different foods and had certain preferences, but was not picky at all. She had enjoyed the main course and appetizer so far. A content smile appeared on her face. She wasnโ€™t full yet; she could eat a little more.

After her compliment to Leo, he seemed pretty shy about it and returned the compliment to her. That made Rosaline feel a bit flustered, too, hoping she didnโ€™t say anything wrong. With her head down, she filled her plate with salad to hide her flustered state and ate some salad. After she finished the bite, she glanced at Leo, finding that his eyes had turned pink again. Feeling grounded with the pink color because it probably meant he wasnโ€™t unhappy, she looked at him and said, โ€œI really think pink suits you. Itโ€™s beautiful on you. I wonder what other colors will suit you.โ€ She gave him a genuine smile. Though she wanted to make a little joke about it, she thought of Leoโ€™s self-consciousness about his ability, so she changed it to a light compliment. She really liked the different colors on him because Leo wasnโ€™t a person who expressed his feelings loudly; he was more subtle. But sometimes she could perceive his emotions more through the colors.

When she shared her childhood experiences, Leo listened and took a sip of his water. She thought he might just be thirsty and didnโ€™t think it through. โ€œMaybe you can join us! Itโ€™ll be fun. We can row the boat together. Itโ€™s totally safe, and we wonโ€™t spend days on it, at most a couple of hours or an afternoon,โ€ she said with a wide grin. The young girl hadnโ€™t brought her friends to her grandparentsโ€™ house before because she didnโ€™t know that many wizard kids. But now she had a group of friends. Maybe they could even have a sleepover party someday. Her thoughts flew away again, then back to the food. Before she tried another dish, a familiar voice suddenly appeared. It was Fred. He was with Maisie and several first years. She could recognize Marcus because he was her housemate, and Maisie from the train ride, though she didnโ€™t have many chances to spend time with her after the first day. Rosaline waved back to Fred with a warm smile, โ€œHello, Fred!โ€ After he greeted them, he swiftly left their sight with his friends.

Leo accepted her offer of shrimps. She would admit that the caviar was a bold move as his first choice. He always brought her surprises, and she loved it every time he did. Rosaline met Leoโ€™s gaze with a smile. It occurred to her that she had enjoyed the ball so far. She had attended some balls before, but not with friends, nor would she have a date, only with her cousins. Yet they had a big age gap. Even if they wanted to let her blend in with their friends, she wouldnโ€™t enjoy it that much.

Watching Leo take some grilled fish, she took some too. When she served herself some fish from the dish on the table, she could hear the crispy sounds from the fish skin; it must be very delicious. Her focus turned to the fish. She couldnโ€™t wait to take a bite of it. The taste was what she had imagined before; the seasoning was just right and crisp on the outside, with tender flesh within. She squeezed some lemonade on it, adding more flavor. After that, she carefully wiped her hand. Almost missing Leoโ€™s little joke, she chuckled at it too. โ€œThe fish is wonderful. I hope I can eat these every day,โ€ she joked, but half-seriously meant it.

Leo asked whether she enjoyed the ball so far. Rosaline beamed with her eyes lit up, โ€œOf course! This has been so much fun. I really enjoyed your company and the good food.โ€ Pausing a brief moment, she continued, โ€œI canโ€™t wait to dance with you later.โ€ She flushed a rosy pink as she spoke. Didnโ€™t know why she reacted like that, so she started thinking about what the dance floor would look like.

Aamon Athanatos had always stood wrong. Too stiff, too aware of himself, too apologetic for simply existing in the same space as others. His existence was defined by fear and the burden of simply being. Brothers too strong and capable, a father's insurmountable expectation and worst of all, his own. He was never enough. Never smart enough, brave enough, good enough. Even being good, when he was, was never right. He broke things, he lost things, he forgot things, he let too many things slip through his fingers.

The young man waiting at the entrance of the Lost Pearl was not standing wrong.
This boy was standing still, utterly and impeccably composed, like a prince carved from dusk, confident enough to let the world orbit him at its leisure.

He wore that suit in a way boys his age should not have been capable of wearing, with a knife-edged elegance, the pirate aesthetic refined instead of costumed. Dark, tailored lines, an open collar that revealed a shadow of a silver chain resting just above his collarbone. The faintest glint of a pendant hid beneath his shirt, shifting with every measured breath.

He did not fidget. He did not pace. He waited. Like a man certain his date would come. Like a man certain she should. But he did not feel the way he appeared as he stood there, motionless as if in expectation. He had been forgotten before, far too many times. Overlooked. Passed by. They had always preferred that Ravenclaw to him, so tall and wealthy and composed, with the better clothes and the better family, but far more blood on their hands. But who cared when it was the blood of peasants, he mused.

His matching blue eyes snapped up the moment Nabi Park stepped onto the deck, not with the startled scramble of the Aamon she remembered, but with the slow, deliberate attention of someone who had been tracking her footfalls before she ever appeared. She was lovely, as if that were ever in question. Like a dark spirit summoned, with her ivory flesh and midnight attire.

She was breathtaking in black.

He wondered if he saw her before she had seen him. It would be a shame if it were the later. For a heartbeat, something in him... or behind him, leaned forward, hungry. Shant let a moment pass where he could sink into her gloomy charm.

Then he smiled. The expression was hardly sheepish. Nor was it shy. This was not the expression of the innocent, too-eager boy with starched collars and gleaming gemmed cuffs. This smile was small and sharp and knowing, as if her arrival offered something that might slake a growing appetite.

"Nabi," Aamon said, not Miss. Park, not Park, not the stiff formality she usually hid behind. Just Nabi. Her name spoken like heโ€™d tasted it once and wanted to taste more.

She complimented him. Said what he already knew. Aamon didn't blush, rather he let it settle over him like a cloak he was accustomed to wearing. The Aamon she knew did not see anything of actual value within himself, just what was missing, what he lacked. His dreams were not of perfection, but of being the hero, the person people came to and looked up to. Perfection was stiff and formal, and in far too many ways, wrong. This boy, on the other hand, seemed to be content with his status and knew his place above the pedestrian masses it would appear.

"Youโ€™re late," Aamon answered, but it wasn't a complaint. His tone was soft, almost indulgent. "I was beginning to think you were making an entrance." Maybe, she still was.

Nabi offered her hand. The gesture was formal, distant, like a line drawn in the sand indicating a business engagement rather than what this should be. Aamon did not shake it. He stepped closer, just enough that the firelight catch on the white gemstone resting at her throat, swirling faintly as though stirred by his shadow.

โ€œYou're wearing it,โ€ he commented, his voice brushing her like velvet. The gift was more than a mere trinket of a bribe to compel her company, it was him marking his territory the way an Anthanatos does. What charm or threat fails to cover, gifts can capture they often reasoned. โ€œGood, it suits you.โ€ His gaze lingered a fraction too long on the hollow of her throat, fascinated, reverent, or something far more primal. As if he was trying to avert his gaze from the throbbing artery just to the right.

Then, just long enough to ensure that the pause was felt, Aamon reached out. Not to take her hand, but to turn it gently, lifting it toward him as if about to kiss her knuckles. But he didnโ€™t. He simply held her hand suspended, never shook, the distance between skin and lips charged with the ache of an almost. "You asked if I waited long," the almost heir's smirk deepened. "For the right company? Time behaves," even if fate does not.

Her teasing warning, I hope you were not thinking of leavingโ€ฆ that would have been disappointing, earned a low, warm hum from him.

"Leave?" Aammon's thumb grazed the back of her hand, featherlight. "Nabi, I didn't come here to leave," Glacial eyes lifted to hers, steady and unblinking. "I came here for you."

Harvey was good at hiding his feelings. Outwardly he was almost always a perfect example of calm and collected. As if he was chiseled out of stone, his expression was polite and well practiced. It wasn't until he had met Lilith that he had felt such turmoil within. So much so that his exterior would crack from time to time. She loved to toy with him and if he was being honest, he liked being her plaything.

However, Harvey was keeping his cool for the moment. The tug of war that had come to define their relationship began anew again this evening and he couldn't wait to play. Harvey had to keep his wits about him when she offered a compliment. He knew he looked like a million galleons, but to receive such praise from someone so beautiful still caused his heart to race. The boy could have sworn she was part-Veela the way he could get lost in her gaze. When she adjusted those dark, curly locks Harvey could have lost his mind, so he switched the subject to dancing.

Harvey shot her a skeptical grin when she agreed to accompany him to the dance floor with a lackluster reply. He knew she would love to be out there on the dance floor. Lilith looked like a princess and princesses deserved to be the belle of the ball. His eyes drifted back over to the girl he had struck up a conversation with when she made her quip. Pretty? Yes. Interesting? Yes. Someone worth getting to know, but nothing like the flame that was Lilith and Harvey was the moth. "Come, darling." He presented his arm and would escort her away unless she refused.

A voice drew a boy almost about to fall asleep out of such a predicament. Balls at Hogwarts inspired, after all, the utmost dullness. It was an unexpected one, yet perhaps Archer ought not to have been surprised that she would find her way to him again, in yet another ball no less. Something, and by that he meant their shared tiresome attitude towards such gatherings, must have joined them together. Violeta Roux, once more Archer found the two of them staring eye to eye among the crowds. What a funny coincidence, Archer thought, not finding the situation particularly funny at all.

He managed a smile, if only for the sake of politeness. โ€œI donโ€™t wonder at all. In fact, I am simply bored.โ€ Of you, included, he was tactful enough not to add. Violeta, by all means, seemed to be a pretentious girl. Her words were laced with their fair share of philosophical musings, and every syllable of speech was there as if it was trying to prove a witty point. Perhaps Violeta, despite all her Ravenclawโ€™s inclinations, was a true Slytherin after all, just someone hiding behind another mask, no different from the many partygoers at the ball. No better from the people she was looking down upon. Not that Archer was not pretentious himself, butโ€ฆ

At least Archer was authentic in his pretentiousness. He was raw. Ugly, sometimes, yes, but when had he tried to stow that away? When he had wanted to fight he hit, when he wanted to reprimand he spoke, when he had wanted to love, to care, to pour his very heart into something he did. Perhaps Violeta thought herself as honest, perhaps she believed that people would not like her because of her directness, but Archer questioned, when had she been honest with herself? Something other than a manifestation of academia? The inventress must have invented herself into something else. He was not all bark and no bite.

But Violeta, at the very least, was a tolerable girl. A girl, he thought, a girl. By the standards of society, all boys were required to have a girl at a ball. The standards of society he often did not understand, often did not bother with throwing himself into the frays of, but somehow, today was different. Somehow, this entire year was different. He was going to make it different, force it if it did not agree with him. This year, he would be Archer Duncan, same name, same boy, in a new flesh. That meant trying something he would have shied away completely last year. Something he still, and perhaps will never, understand.

Violeta was an objectively attractive girl. A cascade of dark hair framed her fine features; her eyes were strikingly blue, and the sort a lesser boy could have gotten lost in completely. Archer must have been shallow when it came to his wrong ideas of love, and even though he did not know much about her personality, he assumed it was comely enough from their shared interactions. When it came to interests theirs overlapped dramatically, from their shared positions on the Headliner to their discussions on literature, philosophy, whatever pleased pretentious thirteen year olds. Pretentious for pretentious. That seemed to work fabulously. Logically, from even what little he knew of Violeta Roux, they seemed perfect for each other. Archer was pretty sure she could dance too.

He cocked his head and lifted the side of his lip in a crooked mimicry of flirtation, โ€œSometimes, I wish I had a date.โ€

Leo couldnโ€™t help but laugh at Rosalineโ€™s suggestion of a giant squid being under the water of the Great Lake. Just like at summer camp, she had such a fascination with magical creatures and it was cute seeing her talk about them. โ€œIt would be pretty interesting to see that, although who knows what might be under the waterโ€™s surface.โ€ He chuckled at the thought. Hogwarts was after all a rather interesting place with all sorts of secrets and surprises.

With Rosaline giving him another compliment on his eye color he couldnโ€™t help but feel flustered. This wasnโ€™t the first time his eyes had been pink in front of her, in fact it happened so often and only with her. With the butterflies fluttering in his stomach, he tried to calm down enough to respond to the girl across from him. He glanced around, checking to see if anyone was around that would see. Once he was certain no one would notice, he turned back to Rosaline and smiled. โ€œI could potentially change them to any color, my hair too for that matter.โ€ He said before closing his eyes and focusing on the thought of the sea and the blues and greens that typically made up the color of the waves when he would visit the ocean with his family. When he opened his eyes again they were changed to match that color. โ€œLike to match the sea theme of the ball.โ€ He chuckled as he looked down at his reflection in the spoon on the table before looking across at the girl to show off the eye color change. He didnโ€™t usually play around with his ability like this in public but he was more comfortable with Rosaline than most since she knew about his ability and was more supportive of him than his family was.

Leo placed his glass back down on the table as Rosaline suggested to come to her familyโ€™s home and join her on a boat ride. He couldnโ€™t fight the smile that lit up his face and nodded in agreement. โ€œThat sounds like it would be a lot of fun, I would love to come sometime. Maybe during the summer break?โ€ He took a few more bites of his food before seeing Fred walk by, greeting him back before watching him walk off with the group he was with. He glanced around the room, letting his gaze wander from table to table as students were scattered throughout eating and talking.

As Leo took another bite of his fish he heard Rosaline speak again, putting his attention back on the girl. He nodded, the fish was really cooked well, as was everything so far that they had tried, well, outside of the caviar he forced himself to try. He was truly enjoying their little dining experience tonight. He was happy that they were able to enjoy the beginning of the ball together with some relaxing vibes and good food before moving on to the other activities and of course the dancing. โ€œThe meal is really good, they really did well on everything, the food, the decor, everything has been great.โ€ Leo finished his fish and wiped his mouth with the napkin before fidgeting with his fingers under the table as they awaited the dessert.

He was happy to hear that she was enjoying the night so far and then almost froze as she spoke again after a brief pause. He sat for a moment quiet as he tried to process what she had said. โ€˜Sheโ€™s excited to dance with me?โ€™ Leo thought to himself, nervously picking up his glass again to take a sip of the water. He knew the ball meant there would be dancing and he was looking forward to it too but he was nervous even more now after hearing her excitement. As he placed the glass down he smiled shyly, he noticed her cheeks flush and looked down to avoid her eyes as he felt his own cheeks heat up again at the thought. โ€œIโ€™m excited to go dance with you too,โ€ He admitted softly and before he could say anything else they were once again interrupted by the server bringing them their dessert. While he was relieved that the moment was now turned to focus on the dessert in front of them his mind still raced at the thought that this was the last course of the meal and the two would soon be on the dance floor.

The blueberry muffin was topped with edible pearls and finished their themed meal perfectly. He took a bite and hummed softly as he enjoyed the dessert. โ€œThis is really good, the little pearls on top are really pretty too.โ€ Leo said, still speaking softly as the nervousness still was in the back of his mind. With the thought of dancing still fresh in his mind, Leo looked up at the girl from the muffin and chuckled. โ€œI have to warn you though, I donโ€™t really know how to dance.โ€ He took another bite of the muffin, smiling still as his eyes had once again faded from the blue-green color he had put on to show her to the light pink.
