She hadn’t had much experience yet with save duty. It was an odd task for her, just looking around for possible unconscious teammates falling from the sky because something, or someone, hit them- but she had to do it. Just then she saw Avery falling down. But that blusher was too fast, she fell too fast- She couldn’t catch Avery. Looking at her fellow players, they did good. She couldn’t fail the team. She was no rookie. She had to do better.

It had been a bit out of Landon's comfort zone to boo another player, but it was what he was instructed to do. He booed Pax, hoping that it would bother them enough to throw them off their game a little. He grimaced a little, not a fan of being mean. But it seemed to work, so he smiled a little.

Landon watched the game unfold eagerly. He used to flinch when people fell off their brooms and worry about his teammates, but now, he was more comfortable with the sport. He still worried, but he didn't think that anyone would be severely injured. Landon couldn't help but smile widely when the Hufflepuffs scored, proud of his team.

Much to Oonagh's chagrin, the boy would not show much of a reaction to her shouldering into him on their way to the benches. And in her frustration had ripped open a bag of crisps that she would gladly devour as her eyes followed the happenings within the game, lazily.

Her eyes specifically zeroed in on Pax who often did not disappoint in being the first to lose their wings, waiting for the moment that Oogie herself could take to the sky instead and show up her upper year. This time that moment however, did not come quite so immediately, as despite their form falling from the sky, she was plucked right out of her fall and dragged upon a broom that was now holding them steady. Oonagh recognized that person from practice, but could not put a name to the face - the swiper had however kept their captain Pax save from an early elimination from the game. Which meant that Oonagh had some more time left on the benches, causing the blonde whirlwind to lean back against the wooden structures behind her in exasperation.

Hovering in the sky, he couldn’t believe he had only grabbed the quaffle once; other times, the ball had all been snatched by his opponents. He clutched his broom, wanting to shake off the bad feelings. At least they got ten points. Yet he saw their Seeker had been hit by a bludger in the very first round of the game. His eyes widened as he saw the scene.

He soared in the chaos, ready for the next round, heart pounding hard.

Rosaline sat still on the bench; her hands propped on it. As she looked above the pitch, she hadn’t been this nervous since her last crazy unofficial Quidditch game, which had been quite a match. She refocused on her discussion with Avery, her eyes still fixed on the situation in the sky. The girl Rosaline had met back in September had taught her the tricks of how to play the sport. Rosaline didn’t know she would be on the team that soon. She was excited to have the chance to even be on the pitch.

Their discussion seemed very insightful. She felt she had more knowledge about this match after their exchange of ideas. “I can’t wait to see how everything will unfold,” she responded to Avery with her eyes lit up. But just then, their Seeker got hit by a bludger and fell to the ground. “Ouch… That must hurt,” she grimaced, hoping her teammate would be alright. Yet this meant it was Avery’s chance to fly in the match. She looked at Avery and said, “You got this!”

Her attention was drawn back by Fred’s question. She had greeted him before. It was a comfort to see a friend who was nervous and excited along with her. “Me too, this is too thrilling,” she answered. Glancing around the pitch, she thought she might find some familiar faces this time, an unusual combination of blue, green, and red in the stand full of Gryffindor. A warm smile appeared on her face.

Fred asked whether she would stay for the next game. “Of course! I want to stay to watch the next game. I will meet up with Leo afterward. Do you want to join us?” she answered the question, yet gave him another one. “How do you feel about our first game so far?” she asked. Then she added, “I feel our legs will be like spaghetti after the race.” She chuckled. She was less nervous now, yet the situation in the sky was growing increasingly tense.

Pax had a great shot lined up for Camilla, until Sage very rudely cut in and intercepted it. They couldn't hide the annoyance as it took out one of their own, and they cursed under their breath. In that moment, they didn't see the blatch heading for them, and toppled from their broom with another string of curses. Thankfully Kora was there to catch them. "Ok, we can still do this," they muttered to nobody under their breath.

With the start of the game, they were off except... where was everyone? What she had expected to be a very tightly contested Quaffle with a fourth year @Harlan Montgomery turned out to instead be just her facing off against Derek. Or was it Frederick? She could have sworn that Frederick was the reserve keeper, but the narrator (hi @Prat Pass) was shouting off different names to her confusion.

She had specific plays for each of these people dammit, and would thank the commentator not to confuse her with names she was not expecting. Whatever the case, Mr. der-somethingsomething seemed as confused by the whole thing as she was, she was able to sneak the ball pasthim once, and then wrestle it past him a second time.

"Come on boy," she all but laughed as she swerved past him a third time. "You could at least be trying."

As she got done scoring a fourth time, movement caught the corner of her eye. It seemed that instead of having the Chasers challenge her on the field, it was the Gryffindor captain themselves who was trying to come after her. With a beater's bat. As expected.

"Nice one, @Sage Willows," Camilla all but yelled, almost forgetting the last scrimmage, and actually conceding a goal.

"Don't mind it, guys. Don't mind, we'll get back five more!"

The game was afoot.

The moment the action began, Atlas indulged in the familiar rush of adrenaline that piqued her senses. Her keen eyes scanned the field of play as she waited for the chance to break into the chaos. Wanting to help relieve some of the pressure on the field, Atlas focused her attention on one of the Gryffindor beaters. Protecting her team was her first priority and cutting down on the number of beaters on the field was usually a good way to keep the team fighting. The ever-present anxiety of abandoning her goals never failed to prick the back of her neck, but she also recognized that the evolving gameplans often called for her to more actively cut into the game.

Letting out an exhale to focus her body, Atlas lowered herself on her broom and propelled herself forward. Barely making it away from the posts, Atlas caught movement out of the corner of her eye. Her body reacted before her mind even had time to process the impending threat. Rotating her broom and spiraling through the air, Atlas could feel the disturbed wind as the incoming bludger sailed harmlessly by her. Despite being quick enough to evade the threat, Atlas could feel another pulse of adrenaline as her heart rate picked up from the near miss. It had been closer than she would have liked and served as another confirmation of her plan.

Only minorly thrown off by her evasion, Atlas continued to barrel forward. Her sights were locked on Pax and she was keenly aware that she might incur a penalty but the near connection of the bludger had severely dampened any hesitation she may have had. Gritting her teeth, Atlas careened into the Gryffindor player with her shoulder using more than enough force to jolt the boy from his broom. The impact was enough to rock Atlas's hold on her own broom but she quickly settled and flew away from the scene of the crime trying to appear as casual as possible. To her unbelievable surprise, she heard absolutely no indication that she was being penalized for the maneuver.

She wasn't about to complain if she was going to get away with it. Part of her was irritated to see that Pax was rescued at the last second. However, Atlas knew that would keep them occupied for at least a short period. Carrying her momentum back toward her goalposts, Atlas worked to relax her mind as she refocused on the larger flow of the game.

This must be declared by the Keeper if either of these free actions are to be utilized.

Evasive Maneuvers
Harder to hit on average, 10% on auto-dodge chance that anything that targets this wizard automatically misses. This is rolled separately from the attack roll.

Broom: Varapidos (+3 to all stats) (Enganação. This literally means "cheat" and is a basically the art of sleight of hand for Brazilian Quiddich players. When a Quiddich player attempts to use the "cheat" action where they attempt to cast a spell while in a game, they succeed once per game automatically. Must declare alongside cheat action. All subsequent attempts to cheat have a 10% automatic "not noticed by the spectators" effect.)
