The sharp autumn air bit at his but Prat hardly noticed it. Thrill of the situation far outweighing the chills as the boy entered his first official match as a Quidditch Caption. And not just any game, but a Gryffindor v Hufflepuff. Clash of Pride and Bravery with Persistence and Passion. Two houses he both liked and resented in equal measure.

Soaring upwards on his gleaming Coment 180, his robes caught the wind like a flag does. From above, the stands roared with an infectious energy, colors of gold and red blurring together in a frenzy of excited students raring for the game to go.

"Welcome, everyone," his voice rang out, magically amplified and confident, smooth as if he'd done this all his life. "To the grand opening of this year's Hogwarts Quidditch Seaon! Today, we have the valiant Hufflepuffs facing off against the ever-spirited Gryffinodrs. Two Houses whose accolades promise nothing short of spectacle!"

Leaning forward on his broom, he lifted the Quaffle for all to see. "Now then," he said, voice dipping into that steady and deliberate cadence. "Let us waste no time, May this match be worthy of the giants all your fanboys claim you to be."

With that, the Viridan Captain dropped the Quaffle, chaos ensued.
This is a spectator thread for the Quidditch Game. 200 words is still the requirement for all threads. Please remember that you are not able to interface with the players on the pitch from a spectator thread.

It was quite chilly outside and while Leo would rather be inside by a fire reading a book with weather like this, today he was going to brace the cold to sit out and watch the quidditch matches that were happening today. His own house wasn’t going to be playing for a few hours yet because the first game of the day was between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff but he wanted to come out to this game as well to support some of his friends he had made. Avery, Frederick and Rosaline were all on the Gryffindor team so he was going to show some support for them today since they weren’t playing against his house. He was still decked out in his house colors for the Ravenclaw game later but came prepared with a sign he made that had the word ‘Go’ on the top and ‘Gryffindor’ on the bottom with their house crest in the middle of the two words. It wasn’t anything fancy but he wanted to be able to cheer for them, even if they didn’t get to actually play. He made a similar sign for later to cheer for Ravenclaw, still hoping one day he would be able to play on the house team too.

In his lap sat the two signs and a couple of snacks, a cup with hot cocoa in his hands which kept them nice and warm. He was ready to watch the game. He wondered how good the teams were going to be this year. Last year he came with his family to watch a game that Ravenclaw played in against Hufflepuff where Ravenclaw won, his family was super excited about it since they were all in Ravenclaw and now Leo was too.

He took a sip of his hot cocoa and looked around the stands as people were getting settled in for the start of the game. Leo wasn’t sure if anyone he knew would be around for this game or not but he was fine watching by himself for now anyways since he knew he would be watching the next match with Rosaline after this game was over. However he still looked around to see if there were any familiar faces anyways before turning back to the pitch as he awaited the start of the game.

A cold breeze lashed at her face as Lucille hurried to the stands. She held a cup half-full of tea. Or half empty. When it came to tea, Lucille could never have enough. In this weather she'd prefer being in the common room by the fire, chatting to her fellow Gryffindors. So why was she out here holding a steaming cup of tea that was more for warmth than taste, decked out in all the Gryffindor gear she owned? For Frederick and Rosaline, her friends and fellow Gryffindors.

Truthfully, she had really only known that Rosaline would be there. Her dormmate had been spending the past few nights talking her ear off about Quidditch, something Lucille found endearing, even when it was late and she was dozing off. It was in one of these ramblings that Rosaline had mentioned that Fred would be there as well, although the pair of them were expected to spend the game on the bench. Still, Lucille would be there to support them regardless.

Finally reaching the stands, she paused, scanning the seats for someone she might know. Already, the spectators seemed to be dividing into those supporting Hufflepuff and those supporting Gryffindor. In the sea of colors, Lucille spotted a boy dressed in the unmistakable colors of Ravenclaw, but with a flash of Gryffindor red on one of the signs on his lap. Lucille squinted, trying to place the familiar figure, before realizing who he was.

She wasted no time in heading towards him, carefully cupping the mug in her hands, not wanting to spill. "Leo!" she called out. He was more Rosaline's friend than hers, but they had interacted a decent amount before. Rosaline had gone to the ball with him, as friends, she said, but Lucille could swear there was a spark of something more. But that wasn't something she should jump to conclusions about.

"You're here to support Rosaline and Fred, too, I'm guessing," she said with a little laugh when she neared, nodding to the pair of signs in his lap. She could now see that the sign had Go Gryffindor written upon it, and the other one was blue, for the upcoming Ravenclaw game, she guessed. Lucille wasn't sure if she'd stick around for that one; Quidditch wasn't exactly easy for her to understand.

She sat down gently on the seat next to him, careful not to spill the rapidly cooling tea. Perhaps an odd choice of beverage for a game, but Lucille adored it. She noticed Leo clasped a mug, too, but his was full of hot chocolate. Lucille resisted the urge to ask him if he had more. Her cup was almost empty; she probably shouldn't have been taking little sips the whole way here. Shaking her head, she shifted her gaze to the Quidditch pitch, letting her eyes wander from the players to the grass and back.

NOVALIE MOON!

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

It turned out someone had actually stolen her Leprechaun hat back!
Novalie could hardly comprehend the audacity of some of her fellow students, but then again, she also couldn’t really blame them either. A Leprechaun’s hat wasn’t just a cool accessory in itself, it was, in her opinion, the ultimate piece of fan merch to show support for the Slytherin team! And since someone had taken it from her (even though it hadn’t technically been hers in the first place because she had stolen it too), the Ravenclaw figured that person must’ve really needed it.
So, before the two upcoming matches where she’d be cheering for her friends, Novalie did the most reasonable thing she could think of:
Steal Borrow Oliver’s school robes.
It was time for a change anyway - the last time she’d been to a Quidditch match, she’d worn Gryffindor robes to cheer for Aodhan. Today, Novalie would be donning green for Oliver!
While she was getting her hands on his clothes, however, her gaze had drifted to Otis - his cat - who was sprawled out nearby, lazily twitching in his sleep as he seemed to be dreaming of chasing mice.
An idea had sparked.

Not long after, the redhead squeezed her way through a sea of students already filling the Quidditch stands, buzzing with excitement for the first match of the new school year. She caught sight of a few familiar faces and plenty of what appeared to be first-years, wide-eyed and thrilled to see their very first Hogwarts game.
Beaming herself, the Ravenclaw climbed high up the spectator seats until she found the perfect spot. Her grin widened from ear to ear as she scanned the pitch for Aodhan - the Gryffindor team was up first against Hufflepuff, judging by their uniforms.

Just as she spotted her friend, a movement wriggled under her robe.
“Oh, right!”
Otis’s sleepy head poked out from beneath the hood, his beautiful, fluffy orange fur reminding her so much of Aodhan’s current hair color. Feeling inspired by it, Novalie decided to change her own hair to match it - piece of cake!
Holding up one of Otis’s paws, she made him wave toward the pitch and shouted, her voice carrying over the noise of the crowd,
“YEAH! LET’S GO, AODHAN YOU ARE THE BEST!”
She bounced on her feet, clutching Otis, who was about to fall asleep again, with one arm while the other kept his paw moving,
“A stands for Awesome!
O - Outshining all the stars!
D stands for Daring,
H - Stealing all the hearts!
A and N, go check the dictionary,
’Cause he’s Always Rising and Never Ordinary!”

She threw her fist into the air, cheering at the top of her lungs,
“WOOHOO! Go Aodhan! You’re the most skilled Seeker by far! Show them what you’ve got!”

Novalie so looked forward to seeing him catch the Snitch! Of course it didn't go past her that he'd been sneaking off to train after his last match and she couldn’t help but admire how ambitious he was.
To her, Aodhan wasn’t just a talented player, he was - and she simply couldn't stress this enough - a true superstar! She could already picture the day he’d actually become one!

The first quidditch match of the season for Hufflepuff and Ellie had been planning on attending every game this year since Mikey had introduced her to Avery when they where helping Ellie get a grip on her broom. Since both of them played quidditch, she was hoping it would be Gryffindor verus Ravenclaw but, the game, she learned, was not Ravenclaw versus Gryffindor, it was against Hufflepuff- which was today she had learned that- Ellie was torn between supporting her friend or her house. So Ellie was doing both. Of course, she wanted Hufflepuff to win, she was part of the house of loyalty and was pretty loyal, but she was also a loyal friend so she wouldn't mind if Gryffindor won instead.

Mikey and Avery had been together the day she had met Avery, Ellie hoped Mikey would be here today, and they could cheer on the players together. They seemed like pretty close friends that day, but Ellie didn't know if Mikey was busy.

She quickly found seats in the pitch and sat down. She was wearing a yellow shirt, black pants (she had debated red but decided the color wouldn't work) and a red head band. She looked at the players down below on the field in red and yellows. She looked at the players for the Hufflepuff team, one of the girls looked familiar on the Hufflepuff team, like the girl Ellie had met on the way back home from Hogwarts but Ellie couldn't remember her name. Ellie then looked at the Gryffindor side, beside Avery, she didn't know that many Gryffindors, beside from the small interations in class.

Ellie, couldn't wait for the game to begin

Avis squeezed past a gaggle of excited Hufflepuffs as she made her way to a seat in the corner of the stands. The chill of autumn nipped at her nose so she wrapped her scarf a bit tighter around her face as she settled onto the wooden bench in the Quidditch spectator stands, taking a moment to gaze out over the pitch.

She kept her face as neutral as possible, trying to portray the fact that she was on the very important business of scouting for future matches and couldn't be bothered to cheer for either Hufflepuff or Gryffindor but the energy of the game was getting to her and a smile twitched onto her face. Merlin, she loved a good match. If there was one thing Avis could never tire of, it was Quidditch.

However, just as the feeling of elation was settling in her stomach, the smile dropped off her face as public enemy number one strode out onto field, Silver Arrow in hand and a characteristically annoyed look on his face. Gabriele.

She rolled her eyes, almost prepared to leave. How in the actual hell had he made it on the team? She'd witnessed the results of his flying first hand. A bloody broken arm at that. Idiot. Avis caught herself leaning in closer, trying to get a good look at her nemesis as he sat down. Benched, it looked like. She crossed her arms, letting a slight hmph of satisfaction. Serves him right, the bumrag.

Her moment of satisfaction didn't last long, however, when a cold realization suddenly struck the Ravenclaw. She was, in fact, going to have to play Hufflepuff eventually. And although the boy wouldn't be on the pitch, he'd be right below her, most likely taunting her to the best of his ability. She groaned, slumping in her seat as the whistle for captains rang out over the stands.

The pit of despair retreated only slightly as a sneaking thought entered her head. Her only form of defense was going to have to be offense, striking first before he could. Avis grinned to herself. Might as well get in some good harassment during this match while he was at her mercy...

With the chill in the air, Leo wasn’t sure how he was going to last through both games. He took a sip of the hot chocolate and held onto the cup tightly, the heat radiating off the cup and warming his hands. As he sat there, he watched as the players entered the pitch, finally they were getting ready to begin the match soon. He looked to see if he could spot his friends on the pitch, realizing he forgot to ask what there numbers were to be able to pick them out. While he scanned the pitch he heard his name called. Leo hadn’t been expecting anyone so he wasn’t sure who was calling for him until he turned to see Lucille walking towards where he was sitting.

“Hey Lucille.” With a soft smile appearing on his face he turned to face the girl as she approached him. He was happy to see a familiar face joining him honestly, much better than spending the whole game alone. Although the two had just started getting to be better friends through Rosaline he hoped the two could enjoy watching the game together nonetheless. He nodded as she asked him about why he was at the match. “Of course, I wanted to show some support for them since they made the house Quidditch team.” He said, glancing down at the signs in his lap. “I guess I kind of stick out though right now.” He looked down at his outfit then back at her, chuckling at himself since he was one of the few people not donning Gryffindor or Hufflepuff colors.

His attention turned back to the pitch as the game was getting ready to start. The players were taking their positions and Leo was finally able to spot his friends out on the bench. He hoped that he would get to see them play today, even though that would mean players on their team would be hurt or knocked out for that to happen but he knew things in the quidditch games were rough like that. “Do you think Gryffindor will win today?” He asked her, keeping his gaze towards the pitch and his hands firmly wrapped around the cup in his hands.

After taking a couple more big sips of his hot chocolate, he carefully placed the cup down between his feet. With the announcer starting the match, he watched as the quaffle was tossed and the players were quick to move to begin their plays. He took the Ravenclaw sign and placed it on the open seat beside him to save it for later and picked up the Gryffindor one, holding it up in front of his chest so it wouldn’t be blocking anyone’s views. “Here we go!” Leo said, sitting up straighter as he watched to see what would happen.

xxxxxxxxt’s bloody cold out here,” Cecilia mumbled, frowning slightly as the end of her scarf fluttered in the wind. Silver and dark green caught the afternoon light as she climbed the steps. In one hand, she clutched a roll of dark green fabric and in the other was a steaming cup of malted milk – its taste sweet and soothing against the chill that nipped at her cheeks. It was an unusual choice, for she was more partial to spiced chocolate. Perhaps she needed the distraction – in the form of a new beverage – to calm her nerves regarding the next match.

The harsh wind made her eyelids feel heavier, and the battle against falling asleep grew more difficult. Given her tendencies toward tardiness, she decided to attend the first match as a preventive measure. Should any detours arise – which naturally, they did – she would still be on time for her roommates’ first game. Her understanding of Quidditch was limited to the pages she had skimmed through the other day. Safe to say, it was not much, but at least it was something. Only time would tell how much of the information truly stuck.
────𓃦────
Her eyes drifted across the spectator stands until they caught a familiar tuft of dark hair clothed in blue. A half-grin tugged at her lips – of course, he would be here. With her rolled fabric in her hand, she waved before slipping through the rows of seats, cautiously weaving through lions and badgers to avoid spilling her drink.

“Good afternoon, Noxley,” she greeted as she approached the pair. The aroma of malt and milk rose in the soft curls of steam as she drew closer. “I wasn’t expecting to find an eagle in a sea of lions and badgers,” she remarked as a knowing smile played on her lips. Contrary to her words, her serene expression lacked any hint of surprise. If anyone looked closely, they would even notice a glint of amusement in her eyes.

“I assume you’re here to support Rosaline,” Cecilia guessed, casting her mind back to their last encounter. She hoped that all was well between them, but she refrained from asking. Though she loved secrets, she was not one to pry when it came to such matters. She then added softly, “I’m sure she will be nothing short of brilliant.”

Her attention then shifted to the girl beside him, feeling fairly confident that they had never met before. However, she was unable to ascertain whether they were acquainted, so she asked outright. “Are you also a friend of Leo's?” her head slightly as she gazed at the brunette witch – her dark hair complemented the scarlet red and golden yellow tones on her scarf and sweater. It was rather evident who she was rooting for.

“Pardon my intrusion, I’m Cecilia,” she introduced herself with a tired smile. Feeling satisfied with her introduction, she lowered herself onto the seat beside Leo. She placed the rolled fabric on her legs and propped one elbow on top to secure it. Her hands cradled the mug, its warmth breathing life back into her numb fingertips.

Once the match began, Cecilia leaned back in her seat, her gaze fixed on the pitch as she lifted her mug for another sip. In her periphery, she caught a glimpse of the boy straightening his posture and raising a banner.

This should be fun, she thought as the corner of her lips twitched slightly.

Gryffindor Vs Hufflepuff Spectator Fall 2025
——————————————————————
The autumn air was sharp and fresh. Tatiana had her Hufflepuff scarf draped around her neck to cover herself from the harsh winds as November started to fall and the trees were looking bare and dead. Quidditch season was on again, Tatiana had been waitlisted as keeper, unfortunately, but that didn't mean that she couldn't stop by and support her fellow Hufflepuffs.

She wasn't mad at the captains that she wasn't chosen, she was only, after all, a first-year, so she really couldn't rush things yet. Plus, she had been waitlisted for other sports too, and maybe there was something else that would steer her away from Quidditch.

Tatiana watched as leaves fell as she followed the pathway to the already half-packed stadium, it was already noisy even before the match had started. Her scarf followed the wind and occasionally flapped at her face when it came, the cold wind slapping her face, a few stray leaves getting in her eyes.

She chose a chair that was isolated by the other spectators, feeling a rush of adrenaline as the players entered. Her eyes were glued to the keeper, peeled for anything she might use when she gets in the team. The second-strings were sat not a long way from she was, already conversing about strategies before the referee even climbed onto his broom.

She studied their movements too, she could recognize some of their faces, but there were others she could not either. The Gryffindors looked fierce, she feared for her own house even though this was the first time she had seen them play.

A sharp voice broke the chatter as the referee, a third-year from Slytherin, opened the match. Once he threw the quaffle in the air, the match had started. A hundred yells from all around the stadium broke out, and Tatiana was among them.

The game was going to start, and Lucille had her eyes fixed on the pitch, determined that she would not miss anything, even though her friends weren't currently on the pitch. And, besides, even with her eyes glued to it, she wasn't sure how much of it she'd be able to pick up.

She giggled a little when Leo asked if she thought Gryffindor would win. "Leo, I think I'm obliged to say yes, or my house will certainly disown me." She didn't know enough about Quidditch or their team to guess if they'd win, but she was rooting for them nonetheless. Before she could speak more, another voice interrupted them, and this was someone unfamiliar.

She looked up to see a flash of red hair, contrasting nicely with dark Slytherin green. The girl was acknowledging Leo at first, and Lucille remained silent. There was an ease with which she spoke, and she wondered if she had seen her before and forgotten. The familiarity they spoke with was indicative of a great deal of time spent together, and she wondered if Rosaline might know who this girl was. It certainly seemed to be so, as the girl mentioned Rosaline, making a similar comment to the one Lucille had made before. Without realizing it, Lucille raised an eyebrow. If she didn't know better, she'd guess this girl had the same observations of Rosaline and Leo that Lucille did.

Suddenly, she shifted her emerald (or were they blue? Lucille settled on blue-green) eyes to meet hers, and almost seemed to look her up and down. Lucille offered an uncertain smile, knowing that she'd been doing the same thing only a second ago, and hence, not uncomfortable with her piercing gaze. Finally, the girl introduced herself, looking as if she had made a final decision, and then sat down next to Leo. Her introduction had been a bit more formal than the direct tone she'd used with Leo, and Lucille's uncertain smile morphed to a genuine one.

"I'm Lucille, and yes, so it seems," she said with a little laugh. "The intrusion is more than welcome. The more the merrier, I'll say, especially if it's more people to distract from the fact that I have no idea what's going on." Saying the words reminded her that she needed to be more focused than the rest if she hoped to understand anything. Strangely, this Quidditch match was beginning to feel more like a Potions lecture, where Lucille needed to stay so incredibly focused for any hope of understanding.

The ball was tossed (the quaffle, it was called? She wasn't sure), the players began to circulate, and Lucille leaned forward, cupping her tea tightly, letting it warm her hands as she gazed at the pitch. From the corner of her eye, she saw Leo prepare in his own way, straightening and lifting up the Gryffindor sign, as Cecilia leaned back with more of a quieter interest than the rest of them.

Lucille tried her hardest to keep track of what was happening but, try as she might, she simply couldn't. It seemed she would always cheer at the wrong time, until a bystander might think this odd lion was a badger in disguise. With each ill-timed cheer, she would sheepishly glance at her companions, cheeks a little red with embarrassment and cold. Before she could truly comprehend what was going on, her eyes landed on the scoreboard. 10 for Gryffindor, 40 for Hufflepuff. When did this divide even happen? she thought in shock and, defeated, leaned back in her seat. Despite her best efforts to stay engaged, all she could see was people on brooms whizzing about, and far too many balls and different types of balls for her to keep track of.

"I can't say I understand what's happening, but I don't think we're doing too well yet," she offered unhelpfully. Still, she felt she must say something, if only to appreciate the sorry display. Still, the match had only just begun, and she was sure the tide could turn quite quickly in Quidditch.
