There were few things for Oonagh to actually achieve in a scenario like this. And clearly poking around at furniture with her fake cutlass was not cutting it. Though that had been quite a bit of fun regardless!

“And the ‘treasure torn from those who died’ part… that’s creepy. What if there are ghosts? Or worse… an evil octopus? I hate seafood. It’s slimy and smells weird. If there’s a giant squid, I’m swimming the other way.” A girl seemed to speak of the terrors of ghosts and whatnot (@Tavi Honey), whereas Oonagh all but felt ecstatic at the idea. "Creepy?? That sounds well epic!" she voiced her disagreement and gave her cutlass a swing as if she was facing off against one of those imaginary ghosts or well, apparently evil octopus?

"Ah dinna ken if ye ken 'Escape Rooms' but this be a riddle room and solving thir be clearly the quest to our treasure!" She swung around, still fighting off the invisible monsters and slapped the fake weapon onto the wall once more, just where the algae has been shifting in and out of gibberish letters. She squinted, perhaps she could make out some kind of shape, if there was any resemblance to letters at all?

It reminded her a fair bit of the riddles his parents, especially his dad would enjoy doing when the newspaper came around. It always wanted people to use their brains and find the correct letters. Just great that this room would have her use her brain instead of going around punching stuff...

@Eonaria Kabukimono's attempt to cast Finite Incantatem towards the wall seemed to not have done much. For one the spell did fail, yes, but even so, the walls were not enchanted, or had many spells on them. The room itself was really just that ordinary, with only the algae likely being charmed and that was part of the game itself. So it was unlikely that a counter spell could be used on them overall. How that mechanism worked who knew...

That being said, as @Tavi Honey attempted the same thing, she would find that despite hers too, in a sense "backfiring", the sole act of trying to do another spell meant the light charm would be extinguished regardless. Talk about luck.

And maybe the algae took mercy on them, or maybe it was how the room was designed, but...it seemed that as a thank you for not being attacked with light anymore, some of the algae did almost set in the slight indents of the wall.

Whatever semblance of "words" that were not even clear as to what they were before (more like blanks), barely visible before, almost seemed petrified now, taking clearer shapes. It was still hard to distinguish much, only about 3 words could be made out and even that with quite a bit of difficulty because of how they "revealed" themselves.

and xxxxxxxxxxxxx search, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx through xxxxxx

This was still something, 3 out of 14 words were at least "distinguishable" in the otherwise mass of "unknown".

Meanwhile, the algae went on a bit of a flight thanks to @Ally Craig's spell working out a bit too well, the aquatic plants that were not on enchanted to stay on the wall, were floating all around them now, dim green light acting like some equivalent of fireflies now with how it glided lazily around the room.

MOD ROLLS: (I really rooted for that but one crit fail and one close to crit fail damn... that being said apparently because you did try to cast another spell, ironically so, lumos will be extinguished regardless. So...guess count lucky stars. Statistically you are better off trying to cast any other spell than the counter one and LUMOS at least will be cancelled out and the spell may work too. Also if I make any mistakes, please do let me know)

Oonagh, who had been trying to make sense of any of this, while the soft song continued to lull on in the back of her mind, thanks to the relentless use of the siren song that kept on repeating, spotted the change within the algae.

"Oi, thae leuk like words!" she exclaimed as her eyes narrowed in on the glimmering algae. The song in the background ended once more, before repeating and Oonagh almost groaned, before frowning at the mild familiarity of the words. They reminded her of the pirate captain she had passed on her way to the ship and the buffet. Still frowning, she ruffled through her many pockets until her grasp took hold of the card she had been handed, now glad that she did not toss it to the ground like trash.

The pirate had also spoken of the treasure that drowned with the ship, she was sure of it, even if her mind at that point had been very much focused on the smell of seafood lingering in the breeze. Well there was only really one way to find out; she took a look at the card, actually considering reading it because it might very well contain a treasure map to pirate riches and that was something she just had to investigate after all!

Ally Craig had realized that her levitation charm had worked a little too much started questioning herself he she should cast another spell or just wait and walk around searching for clues again since she was in doubt on whether or not she should cast another spell so here she is standing taking another look around thinking that maybe something, anything in this dark and algae filled room might help her come up with where she should go from there!

Low and behold Ally had seen something sparkling behind where the algae used to be so Ally started to walk a little closer towards the wall so she can have a better look at the sparkling object hoping that maybe this is a part of another clue that she was going to unravel Hey come over here I think I found something! Ally had shouted to get the others attention that maybe one of them could help her decipher what on Earth this shining and very sparkly object could be could it be that Ally has found the pirates treasure the very same object they had been spending what felt like hours and hours searching and searching for? Ally had thought so then she voiced out loud the same thought she had just thought up a second seeing if any of the others can contribute to the clue and object.

Ally was just hoping that she was able to contribute something out casting her Levitation Charm earlier she was happy that it had worked but now she was scared that she wasn't going to be much of any help because she decided to look around instead of casting another spell.

XXXNot much seemed to have happened. Her spell had clearly been cast successfully, but the algae did little more than just wave around a bit. On the bright side, or, er... the dark side...? the algae seemed to take pity on them and formed itself into clearer words, as the girl with the pirate accent pointed out. It was very hard to read algae on rock. "'and,' 'search,' 'through,'" Eonaria read aloud, slightly disgruntled. Thanks, algae. What were they supposed to do with that?? Yes, of course they had to search through something!! It was clear that the room was waiting for them to do something specific, but what?

Image posted by the memberX XXXFor a moment, her fingers brushed against the vial of Herbicide Potion in her satchel. That wouldn't be helpful, right? Killing the algae that was giving them words did not seem smart. Then, perhaps the room hid more clues than they initially thought. Was the barely-visible furniture relevant at all?

XXXEonaria squinted through the darkness, shuffling towards the nearest one. Perhaps they had words inscribed on them too, or had things hidden inside them. But what could she even do to furniture? Set them on fire? Now that was an even worse idea. After running through the spells that she knew off of the top of her head, Eonaria eventually had to admit defeat to the furniture. No ideas there. The algae was definitely their biggest clue, no matter how annoying it was. And they certainly had to get out of here...

XXX"Dissendium!" she cast, pointing her wand at the wall with the algae, though not directly at the algae. If there was a secret passageway behind there somewhere, she didn't want to somehow destroy the messages the algae had already solidified into.

XXXJust then, Ally called out in excitement, claiming to have found something. Eonaria turned around, surprised. Had she really? What had caused it? "Are you sure? There's no way it's this easy." But she joined the Ravenclaw anyway, peering at the wall. She didn't see anything. Well, the algae was glowing a bit brighter, but other than that... not really? To be honest, the free-floating algae now looked like wispy tentacles trying to grab them, which Eonaria did not like at all. They're just plants! Magical plants, yes, but not dangerous ones! Probably.

Whether it was intended to be used some other way, or maybe it was really as simple as just a card, that fact in and of itself was debatable. What was known, though, was that @Oonagh Brown would not find anything unusual or "useful" for their situation on the card currently. Maybe they should rethink their strategy as a group here. They were doing something good by no longer blinding the algae with light.

Meanwhile, @Ally Craig seemed to have noticed a dim sparkle, but there was, in all fairness, no sparkling object hidden. Maybe the dim light emanated from the algae played tricks on her mind? The algae that were still floating lazily around were creating that effect of "moving" fireflies, but it is clear, as of now at least, that the clues were not hinting at anything like that yet.

Last but not least, @Eonaria Kabukimono would most likely think that there was something hidden around the room, like a passage or a corridor. But as it turned out, once the spell was successfully cast, it...unfortunately for the group, was just a normal room. The spell exposed nothing out of the ordinary, at least out of the ordinary for Hogwarts.

Whether by luck, mercy of the algae, someone from the outside interfering, or maybe the plants knew something beyond just what they were charmed to do, they started to reveal the words bit by bit.

your xxxxxxxxx treasure xxx Fail xxxxxxxxxxxx stays xxxxxx do xxxxxxx the xxxxxxxxxx The and xxxxxxxxxxxxx search, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx through xxxxxx is xxxxxxxxxxx so xxx timexxx you

The words were scrambled, they needed to be rearranged, though that was much easier task now that they could actually see them properly too.
