Damien walked into the astronomy tower as he had an important assignment to do today giving to him by Professor McCorie himself. He was to be in charge of two students and be the intern that the two would rely on for there years at Hogwarts. Which to most would be a lot of responsibility and pressure but Damien didn’t see it that way as that meant that the professor trusted him enough to give him this assignment but it also meant a chance to prove himself as if he made a good impression on these two students maybe Professor McCorie will assign him other students to be a mentor of sorts to.

As he made his way up the stairs his thoughts ran wild with what he could do to make a good impression on these two students whoever they were. Speaking of the two students Damien didn’t really know who they were as he hadn’t seen the list yet but in a few minutes he would find out just who he was assigned to. He had to think about activities and things they could do to help further there study’s while also having fun as that was the thing Damien found important was that learning should be fun because if it was boring who would want to learn anything if they didn’t feel engaged or even excited about it.

As he finally made it to the top of the tower he walked over towards Professor McCorie desk and looked down to see a clipboard with the list of students and who they were assigned to. He slowly picked it up and scanned it as he tried to find his name. As he scanned it his eyes widen as he found his name and who he was in charge of and the two names immediately stood out to him. Lorenzo Vincenti a younger Ravenclaw that Damien had met twice before who despite his pureblood background deep down Damien could tell he had a kind soul and would grow up to be something great one day, and then there was Camille De Varenne who was another younger Ravenclaw Damien had met in the library who had a very snobby attitude and was kinda rude but noting Damien couldn’t handle as he figured past that attitude and snobby exterior Camille had the talent to be someone absolutely exceptional he just would have to get past his stubborn ways.

Damien immediately realized the whole test here if there was one, it was due to the fact of how Camille and Lorenzo personality’s were so incredibly different that they would most definitely clash with each other, well Damien was ready for whatever challenge was thrown his way so he could handle this. He set his bag down at a desk and pulled out a few astronomy books he had before waiting for the other boys to arrive.

If you asked Camille De Varenne what his favorite subject in school was, or if he had any, the answer would have been no and none of them. None of his classes he looked forward to based on subject alone, finding them all a waste of time with exceptions made for his class partners. None of the subjects would contribute to his future that was already laid out for him. Classes shared with the rest of his classmates sparked dread in him, in fact. The other houses weren’t the problem, except a few select, waste of space, Slytherins. The little budding Casanova could be found beside a new girl in each class. In classes shared with Gryffindors, it was Rosaline Everhart. A pretty brunette with the heart of gold associated with Gryffindor, based on what he’d heard about the house. They had met on the Hogwarts Express and then later, after being personally victimized by moving stairs, stumbled in late together in Potions on the first class of the year. With such fabulous company, he hadn’t minded in the slightest.

From Hufflepuff, it was Maisie, the bubbly, sociable daughter to one of his father’s business partners. And finally, in all classes shared with Slytherin, it was Esme Hestridge. Her aura of sophistication worthy of someone like him, exceptional beauty and platinum blonde hair had caught his eye immediately.

With a partner in every class, he spared his own housemates no mind. Avoided them entirely, in fact. The first impression had been horrible, and the problem could be boiled down to one single source of frustration. Lorenzo. Last name was insignificant, he hadn’t even bothered to ask. But one thing was as clear as day: Camille couldn’t stand him. His utter dislike for the boy had tainted their whole house, including all the participants, old and young alike.

If pressed to choose a favorite subject, Camille might have carelessly muttered Astronomy. It wasn’t that he liked it, of course — he liked nothing about this school — but compared to brewing foul-smelling potions or trekking through mud for Herbology, gazing at stars was clean, civilized, and required little more than sitting still. Unfortunately, someone must have taken his offhand remark far too seriously, because the next thing he knew, his name had been added to some blasted mentorship program. Astronomy, of all things. Worse still, he was assigned to Damien Dragonclaw, the booklover and self-proclaimed artist. As if Camille De Varenne needed guidance. The whole arrangement was insulting. He had better things to do than stare at constellations with a chaperone. Alas, here he was, climbing the stairs to the Astronomy tower with nothing to do but endure and bite the bullet.

Reaching the assigned meeting spot, the first thing he noticed was, apart from the older Ravenclaw, the lack of presence. Merde, it was private tutoring? For the life of him, he hoped the others were simply late, and that at least one of them would be one of the girls he had made aquaintance. Being alone with Damien and his starry delusions was not something he was yearning for, though the reality would turn out to be far, far worse.

“Is this all?” Camille asked, not bothering with introductions, subtle panic creeping into his voice. “Where are the others?”

This Saturday stumbled into his life the way Mondays so often did—without joyful fanfare. With the first breath of morning, the young Ravenclaw had already made peace with that either no one knew, or those who did simply didn’t care enough for bringing warmth to this day. His eyes had roamed curiously for familiar faces. Even Aiden’s green eyes had been conjured up in his imagination, lurking behind ever door, together with his coat. Eventually, a letter from his father at noon stamped that theory as confirmed and was burned in a fantasized fireplace. The words on the page still sat lodged in the back of his mind.
Carefully, Lorenzo rolled down his sleeves and closed his left hand over the wrist. He smoothed out the faint folds until the warm fabric wrapped him perfectly.
‚Congratulations,‘ his father had written. A polite phrase had followed, speaking of rising responsibility as a boy grew into a young man, of good marks that were expected, and of course, an appropriate maturity. However, what truly cinched his heart into a corset too tight to breathe was the signature and the family seal. There was no colorful print, warmth beneath a cursive goodbye or a wish for happiness. It read like a business letter. Blue eyes flicked to the mirror, catching sight of the paper behind him. It was lying white and distant on the small bedside table. Its cold carried all the way to the wardrobe, touching his lungs.
The hairs at the back of his neck stood on end. For a fleeting moment, the warmth left his eyes, replaced by the same cold he so often recognized in his father’s. To respond to it, the boy gave his head a faint shake. He forced himself back into reason—to the presence of his own thoughts, far removed from birthdays.
With it, Lorenzo turned sharply on his heel and made for the dormitory door. Not, of course, without casting a glance toward his bunk. There were no legs hung down from above. The duvet of the upper bed was not curled around a certain graceful body, smothering it, hopefully, into permanent silence. In his mind, this could only mean one truth: Camille was not here. Lorenzo had no idea where Satan might be at six in the morning, but he guessed, either in the bathroom or aboard a train bound for Azkaban. A small spark of amusement tried to scrub away the bleakness of the first of November from his thoughts.

The walk out of the dormitory, down the corridor, and toward the Astronomy Tower passed without interruption. The spark had nestled itself peacefully within his bones, easing the lingering chill. Even the fabric around his shoulders and legs began to settle more comfortably against his skin.
Walking with a steady pace, it didn’t take long before the young Ravenclaw reached the stairwell. With each stair beneath his feet, Lorenzo tried to shift his focus away from the day behind him and onto what lay ahead. For the young Ravenclaw had signed up for the extra Astronomy tutorial! Normally Lorenzo never attended any form of tutoring, but in this case, the purpose lay elsewhere. There weren’t many activities or subjects the boy enjoyed speaking about, yet with this opportunity he hoped to spend more time with something he loved. After all, the stars were his most loyal companions and friends.

Climbing the last few steps, his gaze fell upon the wooden door behind which the classroom lay. At the sight of it, his lonely birthday was almost forgotten. The heart hammered eagerly beneath his rigidly straight posture, anticipation spreading like a wave of warmth through his limbs. A smile crept to his lips and Lorenzo bridged the last distance to the knob, opening the gate to what he hoped was at least one new friend. But the moment he pushed the door open wide enough to slip inside with his usual composure, his eyes were already caught by the spectacle within.
First, his feelings leapt skyward in a burst of excitement, soaring into the starry night itself. The half-darkened Astronomy classroom was lit softly by only a few lamps, casting the space in a comfortable glow. And of all the souls who lived within this school, Damien was the one standing by the desk! Books were spread across its surface, and beside them stood the the pale figure of the brown-haired boy.
The familiar sight washed over Lorenzo like a kind of salvation. Something genuine pressed against his lips beneath the practiced smile and tucked the corners higher to his cheeks. He closed the door behind him, then shifted his attention toward the second figure—his happiness died.

It was Camille.

There stood like a fallen angel of death his bunkmate— beauty in every strand of hair, yet with a personality so vile it haunted Lorenzo with irritation. It wrapped around him like heavy sheets, smothering the corners of his spirit and stole the smile from his face. His blue eyes narrowed into a sharp, critical glare even as he stepped further into the room toward the other two students. Lorenzo slowed his steps, trying to stretch the time. Every one of his limbs wanted to avoid meeting Camille today. The cold rose back up like a defect of time and space, filling his lungs. It was as though fate itself wished to remind him that he was not meant to enjoy a beautiful day — not even on his own birthday would life show mercy. It truly was wicked, thus Lorenzo’s gaze darkened visibly. He overheard the french accent in the voice asking where the others were.

Only when a few steps were left to join the two, Lorenzo finally announced his presence:“Hello, you two. Good to see you… Damien.” He forced his eyes off of the back of Camille‘s head and turned to Damien. Not even with all amount of force, he could manage to compose a new smile. The dread lingered, marrying his disappointment. And suddenly, his clothes felt too stiff.

Damien sighed a breath of relief as he heard foot’s step coming up the tower, he assumed it was a either Lorenzo or Camille coming up, and in a way he was right it was Camille who had entered the astronomy tower first. In some way he was excited but also dissapointed as he would have had it rather be Lorenzo who he saw first to catch up with him before speaking to Camille but he would just catch up with Lorenzo afterwards. He put on his charming smile while getting ready to greet Camille. Hello Camille it’s a pleasure to meet you again, please take a seat” He said smiling before he noticed how he seemed alarmed or worried the he’d be by himself with Damien….This made him frown almost as he was almost irritated at Camille attitude, he could handle his attitude but he had a feeling that he would lose his temper by the end of the night. “No don’t worry the next student will be here soon so there is no need to worry.”

He managed to hide his irritation in his voice pretty well as he needed to stay calm and collective as if he failed to handle both of them together it means he would have failed professor McCorie and the trust he put in him and he was not about to lose that ever. He set his bag to the side as he put his notebook and astronomy book down as he waited for Lorenzo to make it so they could get started. As he waited a few moments he heard more footsteps approach as he figured it was Lorenzo approaching.

As he waited for him to enter when he saw him he didn’t look too happy if Damien was honest especially once he saw Camille it looked like it sullen his mood even more. Damien made a mental note to talk to Lorenzo before he left to see if he was okay and to ask if something was bothering but first he needed to start the task at hand. “Hello Lorenzo it is delightful to see you again please take a seat” He gave him a small but genuine smile before gesturing for him to come have a seat like he did with Camille.

Damien had opted to sit in the middle of the two of them putting some distance between them as well as incase anyone tried anything he could stop it from happening before it got worse. “Now I’m sure your both wondering why you are here well…” He took a deep breath before continuing “Professor McCorie assigns a group of students an intern for there years at Hogwarts to be like there designated person to help with question they may have or anything they need help with.” He stopped for a moment to pause and look at there face as he could already bet Camille was either taken back but this idea or absolutely infuriated about it. “So he assigned me to two of you so I will be your main intern for the rest of your years at Hogwarts and more students may be added to this group in the later future” He said smiling as he could Immediately tell there would probably be an uproar in a few moments about this decision.

If Damien was honest while he didn’t really mind being with Camille his first and for most pick for who he wanted to be an intern for was Lorenzo as ever since that night in the astronomy tower he felt closer to him and had more of a connection than he had with Camille.

The welcome was anything but warm. The flicker of disappointment, whether real or imagined, in Damiens face when he laid eyes on Camille was unmistakable. As if he could erease what just had happened, the older Ravenclaw quickly flashed him a smile. By then it was too late. His mood, if possible, soured even more. If their last meeting hadn’t been less than positive, he would have been astounded to be greeted with anything but enthusiasm. No one, save for the deep look of hate on Lorenzos face that he was starting to fear would permanently get stuck that way, any time he walked into a room, Camille had never experienced anyone unhappy to see him. It was still annoying, even if it was Damien. Damien should count himself lucky to be able to share a room with him alone, but for once, he decided to see the positives, by reading between the lines. Disappointment in this case, meant that he must have been expecting someone else. That, in return, eased his worries that it would be a private lesson, though it could still be an ogre for all he knew.

Camille mentally rolled his eyes at his overly polite greeting, though outwardly, his eyes only narrowed slightly. “Mhm, I can see that.” He said, returning his smile that did not meet his eyes. He was not in the mood for fake pleasantries.

While they waited for the other person– only one more student– he offered him to take a seat. Camille glanced with disinterest between the avaliable chairs and remained standing. Wanting to wait to see who his unfortunate partner would be before he finalized his decision to stay. Like he had a choice. With his back turned towards the entrance he could only hear Damien greet the next arrival. The French boy froze in place. When he heard the name Lorenzo, Camille couldn’t believe his ears. What are the odds? Turning to face the boy he loathed, he simply couldn’t believe how unlucky he was instead. Very well, there he was, glaring daggers at him as if Camille hadn’t essentially been forced to join this mentorship. If he would have known prior that he would be sharing the room with his bunkmate, Camille would have refused to set his foot inside the astronomy tower. He could rest assured that he would not have been here, had he known. At the very least, it was nothing personal. This time.

Compared to his own arrival, Damien was thrilled to see his personal demon materalized. It was disgusting. Likewise, Lorenzo greeted them but reserved all the greatness for their mentor alone. With crossed arms, Camille rolled his eyes, convincing himself he didn’t care, nor did he want, any of Lorenzos greetings. He could shove it up somewhere the sun didn’t shine for all he fucking cared.

“Lorenzo…” He acknowledged cooly, making it clear that he was not pleased to see him.

With Damien in the middle to keep them from jumping down each others throats, which was absolutely necessary, they sat down and began introductions. Camille did a funny face at his comment that they must be wondering what they were doing here. Of course he knew what he was doing here, it was extra tutoring for astronomy fanatics, was it not? However, he didn’t interrupt. It was Damien who paused first to glance between them, clearly waiting for a reaction. Camille stayed unbothered. Annoyed, yes, but he knew what he’d been forced into. Only one detail truly shocked him.

“The whole year?!” Camille barked in disbelief, toppling forward in his seat. Merlin, he had been dreading a month. How did they expect him to survive a whole year of tutoring together with Lorenzo? “What do you plan to teach us in that amount of time? How to map the heavens themselves?”

The most polite smile humanly presentable clung to his lips. A faint warmth almost wanted to show itself in the blue eyes, for out of the corner of his gaze Lorenzo could see that Camille seemed just as disturbed by his presence as he was by Camille’s! The observation settled with a satisfying weight between posture and mind. It was granting him nearly enough joy to fend off the jolt of irritation Camille’s presence provoked. “Lorenzo,” came Camille’s voice at last. The young Italian fancied he could hear the hatred caught between tongue and throat. Without granting him so much as a glance, the Italian kept his eyes fixed politely on Damien.

Yet he still responded to his roommate with deliberate courtesy. “Camille.” Unfortunately, even the monotony of his tone could not suck the name of its natural charisma.

Quite unlike the personified thorn lodged in Lorenzo’s ribs, Damien was exactly as he had been the last time Lorenzo had the privilege of his company. The young Ravenclaw lifted his head and warmed at once. The polite expression crept deeper until something close to genuine joy lingered below his eyelashes. Damien greeted him with a small smile of his own, hands gesturing with a movement that struck Lorenzo as almost professionally refined toward the seats around the table. The wooden chairs lingered tidily close against the wooden surface.
Lorenzo inclined his head in affirmation. Drawing a deep breath, the awareness of Camille‘s presence was folded away—banished to that corner where, for today, all the world’s horrors were meant to die. The secretly caring one, where daydreams of gentle animals, warm blankets, and perhaps even a birthday muffin might live. Slowly Lorenzo began to round the table.
Damien had chosen the middle seat, thus Lorenzo drew the chair at his left. Carefully, he lifted it just enough to lessen the dragging scrape of wood against floor. The day was already ill-suited without the shriek of chair legs at mercy of gravity and weight. Then, spine as usually held taut, Lorenzo settled into place—though not without casting a brief glare at Camille meanwhile. The arrogant French was seated on Damien’s other side. It seemed to him as though Lorenzo could not even be granted a peaceful evening of instruction beneath the stars, without a flaw intruding. Additionally of all possible mistakes destiny could commit, the biggest of them all was seated on the same table.
Bending his shoulders, Lorenzo did slowly lean against the table. The perfectly smooth hard wood pressed his sleeve tighter into his wrists. Even though it tried to draw him into forgetting Camille, his thoughts still drifted to misery.
Just then, Damien’s voice claimed the moment. It interrupted the bite that had begun to nestle into Lorenzo’s chest. Both his grudge and Lorenzo turned their eyes to fix curiously on the older‘s face. Damien‘s tone momentarily drew him away from the dark shadow of the first of November. “Now I’m sure you’re both wondering why you are here, well…” he began. As expected, from the corner of his eyes, Lorenzo still caught Camille’s small movements. This time he succeeded in blotting them out. Instead, the focus stayed on Damien’s face. With the nightly soft glow of a table light, it seemed carved by competence. The wiser of the three continued, explaining Professor McCorie had divided them into groups, and Damien was to give them additional instruction—or at the very least, make himself available to answer their questions.
At those words alone, the small knot in Lorenzo’s stomach and behind the rips loosened. Their meaning sounded to him like a birthday gift. His lips curved back into the first Act of a Smile—only for the rest to follow from Damien’s mouth. It would not be a one-time gathering, but something recurring for an entire year. Lorenzo’s shoulders melted immediately.
They fell into a relaxed posture, like a racehorse soothed into calm by a gentle pat to its nape. Instinctively, he wanted to thank him, even if it surely had not been Damien’s own decision. It was as though Damien had given him the best birthday gift Lorenzos could ask for.
However, the moment was destroyed. Since Camille’s voice barked into the room.
It rang out with shock twined into it at the notion of an entire year: “What do you plan to teach us in that amount of time? How to map the heavens themselves?”

That would be wonderful, Damien. Please—tell, will you do that?” Lorenzo added onto that question.

For once, Camille’s line of thought struck him as valuable as well. The idea broke open fantasies in the cognitive office of Lorenzo’s mind. Maps could be drawn, knowledge exchanged on estimating the distances between stars and moons. His heart began to hammer, and a hopeful light kindled in the eyes. Lorenzo stared at Damien, searching for confirmation as if it might lie already behind his lips.

Damien let out a silent sigh as whatever hatred or rivalry the two of them had for each other seemed to run deeper than a petty dispute so that meant Damien was going to have to try and defuse it so that way they would be able to work together in projects. He slowly turned to look at Camille before calmly correcting him. “um it isn’t just for this one year it’s for all of your years at Hogwarts from now till your 7th year. He calmly said as he had a feeling that this would cause an outburst between the two of them but he currently didn’t want to hear the argument break up so he tried to shift the conversation to something else.

“Now for what I’ll be teaching you I’ll be teaching you about things that are not included in your lessons so like basically lessons that will help put you somewhat ahead of your peers” He quickly said as he pulled out of his astronomy book sitting it on the table before he continued. “While also helping insure your studies go smoothly and any questions that you have about anything can be answered as best as I can answer them.” As he spoke his energetic tone was radiating off the walls as he hopped these two could find a way to get along and not try to one up or argue with each other.

He turned to look at the two of them before speaking again. “Now seeing as you both have already met each other I won’t have to worry about introductions, so now we can move onto discussing any assignments or anything that y'all may need help on” As he spoke a small part of his brain was nagging at him as he realized they both would think he was seeing them as helpless or incapable of doing their own work so he quickly decided to add one more thing to what he was saying. “Also I am not doing this because I see y’all as incapable of doing your own work or anything like that as you both are super intelligent and more than capable of doing things yourself professor McCorie just thought it be a good idea for us to try and work together.”

Once he said all he needed too he kept his smile up while silent praying to himself that this would be the right decision and way to handle this.

Any fool with ears could tell Camille was being ironic when he suggested the tutoring would cart them off to the stars. And if they couldn’t tell by his tone, however that would be possible, anyone with a shred of intelligence would know that it was impossible; No one had mapped out the heavens, or the galaxy beyond. If the world’s finest minds, who actually devoted their lives to studying the universe, had yet to uncover all its secrets, then three clueless kids were certainly not going to be the ones to revolutionize it. His dormmate, bless him, was apparently stupid enough to take his word for it. Excited about the prospect of learning the impossible, Lorenzo begged Damien to make it a reality. Camille couldn’t decide if he should laugh or roll his eyes.

Rolling his eyes was a given, considering the stupidity. But he didn’t laugh as he leaned forward towards his enemy, past Damien to remind him in a condescending tone: “That, dear Lorenzo,” the word ‘dear’ came out acidic, “was a joke. Ever heard of it?” It didn’t seem like it, that was for certain.

Flicking him off, Camille leaned back in his chair again, letting Damien continue. To Damien’s credit, he didn’t seem under the assumption that he had the knowledge to discover the universe, but the next news was still worse than the last. If a whole year had sounded like a death sentence waiting to happen, hearing that the mentorship would stretch over seven years was the final execution. Camille couldn’t believe his ears, whipping his head to the side, mouth half-ajar and staring at the older boy as if he had just personally insulted him. Though having to sit here in the first place, listening to the other two’s delusions was an insult to his precious time and intelligence in itself. That the fellow first year had questionable tastes was no news to him, with that horrendous pink stuffed goose that he shared a bed with willingly, yet he was baffled how he could seem so unbothered by the arrangement. The human mind in some special individuals, was truly a mystery. Astronomy must be one of his passions… apparently, otherwise he could not see how anyone would subject themselves to this. The only reason that Camille was here was because he’d essentially been forced.

Seeing this was only meant to advance their knowledge and grades with the help of Damien, Camille failed to see how his participation was mandatory. What really were the consequences if he, say, just stood up and fled the room? It would be impolite while the older Ravenclaw had dedicated his time to tutor them, but politeness be damned. He’d stopped caring at some point between being assigned a top-bunk bed and a personal spy to report to his father on his every move. His time here at Hogwarts was already doomed, no matter if he abandoned the ship. The only thing stopping him from leaving was that he did not know for certain what refusal of service would entail.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” the French diva said under his breath, albeit not making any grand attempts at hiding his dismay, if anyone shall pay enough attention.

At the sugar-coated flattery of their intelligence, Camille forced an ill-convincing smile. He didn’t need anyone to tell him about his capabilities, his confidence(arrogance) was enough on his own.

Feigning interest, Camille clasped his hands together in his lap and regarded the group with a considering tilt of his head. “How often did you plan for us to do these meetings? Is participation mandatory, or are you just available when called upon?” The less time he had to assign to group tutoring, the better.

Lorenzo leaned forward in anticipation of the reply, drawing closer to Damien. His eyes searched over the brown hair falling across the boy’s forehead, as if the answer might be discovered there. But then, in the corner of his vision, appeared the embodiment of mischief itself. Camille had leaned forward, arising out of Damien’s shadow.
“That, dear Lorenzo—was a joke. Ever heard of it?” the French addressed him. The word dear rolled so pointedly off his lips that Lorenzo turned his head and stared at the full shapes—speechless. His brows sank lower over the blue of his eyes as he searched Camille’s features in confusion. Somewhere, he hoped, he would find an explanation—for he couldn’t fathom why Camille was suddenly addressing him with such sweet affection.

Dear..?” Lorenzo whispered.

His voice rang so quietly it was meant for no one but himself, and the slow flush rising at the back of his neck. The question of whether he had ever heard of a joke dissolved in the warm confusion. When as swift as he had arisen, the prince of catastrophe slipped yet again from his sight. Before Lorenzo could make sense of it, Damien was already speaking. In a pleasant tone, the older boy had turned his head toward Camille and begun to explain that this would not be a one-time event. In fact, they would be taking part in this endeavour until their seventh year. With no attention weighing on himself, Lorenzo used the moment to take a deep breath. His hand found his neck, cold fingertips brushing over the heated skin as he sorted both his thoughts and spine.

On one hand, the news felt less like a burden and more like a birthday gift—the thought of spending the coming years studying more about astronomy. On the other, there was a blemish on the otherwise lovely picture. His gaze drifted back to Camille. From this angle, he could see only a few strands of darker hair and the sudden tilt of a head behind Damien’s shoulder. Without compromising his upright posture, Lorenzo leaned slightly in. Since he was curious whether Camille found the situation bothersome, the young Vincenti cast a glance at the other boy. “Now, for what I’ll be teaching you—” Damien‘s voice filled his ears, addressing the group. Lorenzo tore his attention away from the troublemaker and back to his role model. Damien explained, “Now, for what I’ll be teaching you—I’ll be teaching you about things that aren’t included in your lessons, so like basically, lessons that will help put you somewhat ahead of your peers,” then drew out an astronomy book and placed it on the table before them.
Like caught off guard by a star-embroidered armour of a knight, Lorenzo was instantly captivated. The book looked different from the one that slept beneath his pillow. A tingling urge crept into his fingers—to reach for it and tap through. But instead he quickly rolled both hands, as though by practised routine, into small fists. He pressed them against his thighs. The dull sensation was at least enough to distract him from the wish of breaking the rules of courtesy. Damien’s voice carried on. Clear and steady, like perfect paced music in Lorenzo’s ears, the details were laid out. Damien would serve them as aides in astronomy—not because they lacked ability, but because Professor McCoire believed in the value of collective progress. Meanwhile, Lorenzo tried his best to keep his eyes on Damien instead of drilling a hole through the word Astronomy on the book‘s cover.
A smile rested on his new tutor’s lips. Damien’s lively, energetic manner was infectious. The fists relaxed, and Lorenzo’s own mouth softened into a quiet smile. Only for it to darken within seconds, as the son of the French hell let out a scoff: “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Of course, Lorenzo wasn’t supposed to find joy in another’s misfortune. It was a rule many adults liked to remind him of—but Camille’s visible irritation made his heart skip a beat. A faint spark began to glimmer in his blue eyes.

He tried to conceal his flicker of glee and instead turned only to Damien with his words. “Despite my bunk bed neighbour‘s dismay, I’m looking forward to it. Something like this will surely be useful—and besides, it gives us a reason not to spend every evening in our common room. Can we use the telescope as well?

The question slipped without much thought —it had hidden and waited perhaps behind his conflicting heart. Only after hearing his own words did the idea now stir a genuine flicker of joy. Lorenzo turned his head, trying to catch a glimpse of the telescope somewhere across the astronomy tower. He imagined it must be standing somewhere in the darkness and gazing longingly toward the stars. Even Camille could be forgotten, if one were allowed to look up into the firmament . The smile faded into the fantasy of spending hours alone with it, dissolving into softly parted lips. Only to be wrenched back to reality within a single breath.
Camille clapped.
Apparently, he had no intention of letting himself be forgotten.“How often did you plan for us to do these meetings? Is participation mandatory, or are you just available when called upon?” asked the voice, tinged faintly with its French accent. Lorenzo turned his head until the dark corners of the room slipped from his. Albeit he might not have liked Camille, the first of those questions was, admittedly, one he found worth hearing the answer for. Waiting for it, the young blue eyed Ravenclaw looked sideways—up along the curve of Damien’s cheek.

Damien was physically screaming inside as he just wanted to leave and forget about this whole night but he knew that he couldn’t do that as he had a duty to his professor and he wasn’t going to fail him. He could feel the tension between the two of them but wouldn’t say noting for now as he figured it wasn’t his place. He turned to Lorenzo first so he could answer his question before getting to Camille questions. “Their you go Lorenzo! That’s the excitement and enthusiasm I was looking for! As for if you’re allowed to use the telescope yes as long as we are careful and respect everything we use in the classroom! I would also like one of you if that’s alright with you after our sessions to stay behind and help me clean the equipment I’ll make sure to ask Professor McCorie if he could write excuses for when that happens to give our head of house so that way yall won’t get written up or anything.”

As he spoke he continued to give off his calm but warming and friendly smile that many students knew him for as he refused to crack under pressure as the last time he did that it wasn’t a pretty sight he was honestly embarrassed just even thinking about it.

But right now he wasn’t thinking about that he was focused on Lorenzo and Camille and trying to find a way for them to not rip each other bloody throats out. He turned to Camille so he could address his question next, As to how often I want us to meet I feel like it depends on the two or y’all schedules but I would like to try and at least meet twice a week or if not that then once every two weeks, but I personally feel twice a week would be better as I could help teach yall more.”

After he answered both their questions he moved his personal book between the two of them as he would allow them to look inside it. “Yall at free to look inside my book just be careful please! As for why it looks different I get all of my books customized as well as add side notes and extra information on some stuff so if anything interest you do share I’ll be happy to go over it with the two of you!” So far this was going well he had one student who was excited to learn and seemed eager at using the telescope which he couldn’t blame him as it is quite awesome but then he has the other student who thinks he’s better than everyone and doesn't need help, to Damien shock both of them reminds him of himself as Lorenzo is the nerdy but expressive side of him eagred to learn and expressive his emotions while Camille is his prideful side unwilling to admit when he needs help or doesn’t know something. He honestly think he could get through to both of them and help them get over whatever their disagreement is he just has to figure out how he will do that.
