Today we remember September 11, 2001 — a day that changed the world. Nearly 3,000 lives were lost in an instant when four planes were hijacked and turned into weapons. Two struck the Twin Towers in New York City, one hit the Pentagon, and one crashed in a Pennsylvania field when brave passengers fought back.
That morning showed us the worst of what humanity is capable of — but what came after showed the best. Firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and ordinary people ran toward danger to save others. Strangers helped strangers down smoke-filled stairwells. Communities came together.
We honor those who died, those who risked everything to save others, and those who have carried the grief ever since. We also remind ourselves that we can’t just remember once a year. We owe it to them to keep working toward a world where hate and terror don’t win.
Today is a day of memory, but also of responsibility — to stay united, to stand up for one another, and to never forget the courage that was shown on that day.
One of the teachers/professors/whatever you want to call them, showed us things about 9/11 today. I was very sad, with tears in my eyes.

They were! I’ve been to the memorial, and their phone calls back to their families were so sad, but the people were willing to risk their own lives to save so many others.
Also, it was. It’s been 24 years and it’s still talked about since it was the biggest terrorist attack that we had since nearly 3,000 people were killed including the ones in the planes, towers, and first responders.

Yes, we heard a voicemail, and the person was telling someone (maybe their husband or boyfriend or significant other? Not sure, though) that she hoped to see them again.
