Friends on a Weekend Pt.2
The Hufflepuff watched as Gabby turned to look at the window, she leaned over too. It was a beautiful sunset with red, orange, and almost purplish streaks. Looking back over at Gabby, she smiled, "I love these sunsets." She was glad Gabby agreed with the popcorn and the shopping, she couldn't lie that they needed dinner. "Probably a good idea, I'll call up Room Service in a second, pick out what you want to order."
She snickered when Gabby piped up.
She snickered when Gabby piped up.
"Well...you know...Hogsmeade, right? Where all the third years go, and your not allowed to go until your a third year but...if you go to Weasley's Wizardly Wheezes, you can get a 'Fake Permission Form' and go, however the form is 5 galleons." She took in a deep breath, "it's awesome there, you can buy brooms and other wands, and all sorts of clothing and stay in awesome hotels with just as much history as the Leaky Cauldron, and they have a ton of good food, and you can get freshly made Virgin Butterbeer and it sounds awesome." The redhead tried to put as much emphasis on awesome as she could, "I mean we both kinda look 13, so maybe we could away with it.""What do you mean, pricey? What idea do you have?"

Um, I'll have popcorn, of course. But I should probably have something a bit healthier for dinner."
Gabby thought about it for a second. What did they even serve at magical pubs? Normal food, probably.
"Pasta, I'll have pasta," Gabby decided finally. You can't go wrong with pasta, surely. Everyone had pasta.
"That sounds amazing!" Gabby grinned, her eyes sparkling with excitement at the idea. She had first heard about Hogsmeade when her older brother, Luis, had returned from his first year at Hogwarts. While this new world of magic all seemed grand and glorious, the story that had grabbed her attention the most was that of Hogsmeade, the town right next to Hogwarts, filled with shops and pubs. Unfortunately, Gabby then learnt that you could only visit the town when you were in Third Year.
But a fake permission slip - it might just work. Of course it would work! Gabby was filled with a sense of eagerness and wanting. But...
"But... 5 gallons? I don't think I can afford that," Gabby said, her voice considerably quieter. "It sounds like a great idea, I honestly think so, and I've always wanted to go there, but I can't. Sorry. I really, truly, am sorry."

Saoirse couldn't agree more, she tended to jump towards things.
The Hufflepuff nodded, "I'll have a salad with garlic dressing, it's actually pretty good on what everybody seems to call grass." She eagerly awaited the Slytherin's answer to her Hogsmeade question, though she knew it was a 'no' it was still nice to have some sort of reassurance that she was just another troublemaker."Pasta, I'll have pasta,"
Saoirse nodded as Gabby's voice hushed."But... 5 gallons? I don't think I can afford that,"
"Yeah, I get it. I probably can't afford it either, I just wanted to suggest considering how fun it sounded." She sighed, "maybe somehow we might be able to work together and earn enough galleons before third year to get the form. That would give us some time to learn how to hide from the sight of professors and prefects." She pulled out a blank sheet of paper, "hair dye, makeup, stuff like that. We could plan our whole trip, our savings, everything on this sheet of paper, what do you think?""It sounds like a great idea, I honestly think so, and I've always wanted to go there, but I can't. Sorry. I really, truly, am sorry."

"Great idea!" Gabby exclaimed, excited by the idea. "Hey - that's what we should do tomorrow instead? Get some disguises! Makeup, weird clothes, you name it. We can get it all, and try it all on!"
The thought of such an exciting, but equally dangerous, scheme made Gabby giddy with happiness and adrenaline. Ideas erupted from her head, so fast that she couldn't tell them to Saoirse. She bit the inside of her cheek, as she did quite often.
"Jobs, though. What jobs could we get? Is there a legal age for witches and wizards to work, like there is in the Muggle world? Well, it doesn't really matter anyway, I'm sure there's a shady place in Diagon Alley that'll give us a job anyway, and even though the pay won't be good, it's better than nothing, I reckon."
She paused for a second, and remembered the idea to get dinner. Using the arms of the armchair, Gabby pulled herself to stand, and quickly turned to address Saoirse.
"We should probably call room service," she said, and spun around, but then realized that she wasn't in a Muggle apartment room. "Um... how exactly do you do that? I've never asked for room service in the magic world."

Saoirse let on a big happy smile, it was good to know that Gabby was on board. "We could head to Madam Malkin in the morning." Of course she was hit with the question.
Saoirse thought hard for a second, "well...if the school's looking for someone to be on the newspaper team we could join that...or I think that Quidditch pays you a bit" she sighed and continued to think, that strained 'what do I do' look on her face, "and of course there is the idea of walking into somewhere and saying we are over thirteen. I know what I'm doing with Ice Cream, so that rules in the Ice Cream Parlor." She looked over at Gabby, "we'll also need a good story for being there, whether we want to still be Hogwarts students or something else." Suddenly Gabby through herself up, reminding Saoirse they had to get dinner.

Saoirse chuckled, and walked over to the hearth, gently lifting a silver bell off the top. "You press the bell, it's normally on the hearth but it can be on other places sometimes.""Um... how exactly do you do that? I've never asked for room service in the magic world."

At hearing Saoirse's response to her question, Gabby laughed. When she had first headed into the world of witches, wizards and magic, the differences had been so big and strange and noticeable that sometimes the girl forgot that some things were exactly the same as they were in the Muggle world. She walked over to her friend, who held the slightly small bell, the colour of silver that shone from the light of candles scattered around the room, in her palm. She took it from her friend smoothly, and pressed it.
"I hope it works," she told Saoirse. ""And I was wrong to think it would be something magical, but I think I'm still getting used to all the magical stuff. And about the jobs - I think we should try and get a legal job first, just to be on the safe side. We don't want to be expelled in our first year at Hogwarts, and also, if we get a job at Hogwarts, I think that would be a good idea too. Just because then we know our way around. So the Newspaper team is a good idea, I'm horrible at spelling, but pretty good at writing. Quidditch is a good idea too. Should we try out both, and then if we can't land a place, try something else? How does that sound?"

Saoirse smiled, hearing Gabby's small giggle. She knew it was quite hard to get hit with the fact that you're in fact apart of a world that uses magic, for the redhead it was hard to adjust to at first. So it was easier to resonate with Gabs, she watched as the Slytherin made her way towards the Hufflepuff, quaintly taking the bell from the redhead's hand and pressing the button on top.
I was thinking, possibly I could see if I could get on newspaper team. Writing is one of my passions and I think I'm pretty good at spelling sooo, maybe you could get on Quidditch team? I mean after that match, that match that will fan the flame on that century old rivalry."
The girl looked over at Gabby, just as the door opened up. As a small little house elf entered and Saoirse motioned towards the Slytherin to order.

Saoirse chuckled, "it will, Gabs. Don't worry." She smiled at her fellow witch."I hope it works."
"And I was wrong to think it would be something magical, but I think I'm still getting used to all the magical stuff. And about the jobs - I think we should try and get a legal job first, just to be on the safe side." The redhead nodded, attempting to sympathize and agree with Gabby, "

As the house elf entered, Gabby stared at it rather curiously. She hated to be rude to it, but discovering all the different, creatures in the magical world that aren't in the Muggle world fascinated her. She couldn't get around the fact that she had lived in a world with them for so long, never realizing the existed at all.
"I'll have pasta please. Ravioli pasta, I think. Do you have ravioli? I absolutely love ravioli pasta, it is by far the best pasta in the whole entire world," Gabby said, half speaking to the elf, half ranting on about pasta to Saoirse. She then turned towards the girl so that she could order her own dinner.
"Sounds good," she then said to Saoirse, talking about their plans to earn money. "So, to recap, you'll get a job on the newspaper team, and me on the Quidditch team. If they don't have any spots open, I can always try for the newspaper team too, but I think that out of the two, I'd probably be best at Quidditch."
As she spoke, a shiver of excitement ran through her. She couldn't wait to start their plan, it was the most exciting thing she'd done all term, and it will be even better when they go to Hogsmeade.
No problem!

Saoirse turned watching the little house elf happily greet the two girls, she waved at it, smiling.
Their plan was coming into motion, even if it was quite risky. Saoirse, however, was more worried about Gabby when they got to Hogsmeade. A, her brother was able to go, meaning he could spot the both of them, B, Gabs is not an Metamorph, she can't disguise herself the way Saoirse can. "The only thing I'm worried about is when we get to Hogsmeade, you said your brother can go there, right? You don't have the ability to sculpt yourself into a different person, like I do. He could easily recognize you, unless we bought pounds of make-up, hair-dye, and slapped it all on you."
That was abrupt, the Hufflepuff thought. Moments before Gabs was staring into the poor thing's soul, obviously making it uncomfortable, but it had a job to do. Gabby turned her head, making a small cough and Saoirse looked back at the worker. "Chicken salad, garlic dressing please. And...two lemonades." The house elf nodded and quickly slipped out, as he shut the door, she heard Gabby speak up again. "Yep, in fact. I've already put in my newspaper application, and yeah...you're probably better at Quidditch then I ever would be.""I'll have pasta please. Ravioli pasta, I think. Do you have ravioli? "Awesome," Gabby said. "Good job on putting your newspaper application in, by the way. I'll put my Quidditch application in soon as well, for the Slytherin team, of course."
When Saoirse mentioned disguises, Gabby felt slightly worried. Because it was true. While Saoirse could change her appearance at will, Gabby didn't. And she wasn't smart enough to known how to create some sort of potion that would change her appearance for her. For a minute, Gabby was stumped. She couldn't think of any ideas. I really want to do this, but what if I can't? she thought to herself miserably, looking down at her shoes. And that's when the idea stuck her - quick and sudden.
"Actually, I might have an idea," she told Saoirse excitedly. "At the start of the school year, when I was getting my uniform and books and all of that stuff, I also got something else. It was at this cheap stores, like a 2 dollar store expect magical. Anyway, it was a magical makeup kit. Kind of like your skills, but less than half as good. You can put a fake nose, fake eyebrows, and fake freckles. They look pretty realistic, and if I wear a hat I bet no one will notice!"
