After getting laughed at for how few tickets they got (less than half of what Hecate earned,) Pyce dragged Hecate to the Snitch Snatch booth. Both twins were subpar at catching anything, but Pyce needed Hecate to do worse than them this round.

"-I mean, it's not like I expected you to be any good. But that was-" Pyce shoved the nuisance in front of them.

"Shut." Hecate cackled the whole way to the booth.

But promptly stopped after he actually played.

It was hilarious, yet slightly terrifying (they were still trying to beat 3 people as just 2.) watching Hecate walk out with 17 tickets.

"I didn't want you to do that bad!!" Pyce hissed, looking at the woefully small sum Hecate had collected as one of their last earnings for the night. "Cate, that's so bad!" Pyce ran up to the booth. "I can't be the one carrying us!" They squeaked out, stepping up to play the same thing Hecate had just failed miserably at. They really couldn't, considering that they weren't nearly as skilled as Hecate in several areas. (The two really should have tried one of the more magic leaning games, as the boy seemed to have an affinity for magic.)

"You haven't been carrying anything!" Hecate snapped back. Pyce gulped. How could they possibly do better than their twin??
Hecate actually rolled abysmally low this round. The twins' only saving grace is that I don't have enough time to write Stella's final post, so this round they really are only going up against two people.

The summer camp had been more than what Vivi had imagined. It was brimming with joy and laughter spreading everywhere. After visiting most of the booths young Vivi decided to try her luck with some carnival games. Who doesn't love games? They are the perfect way to compete without ugly scratches and bruises.

She spent roaming most of the time deciding what to play. There were many choices. She watched many people playing with interest. There was cheers of victory, sighs of losing and competing among friends and family members.

She didn't have anyone with me to compete with. Hopefully next year she will go to the carnival with her new friends she will make at Hogwarts. She saw a boy trying to ride something that seemed to be a mechanical basilisk. 'Nope!!! It's most definitely not for me. I'm not getting on it.' she thought. She then continued to search for a game to play.

She found a game booth in Hufflepuff theme decorated in yellow and black. She went into the booth. There was ten identical goblets on the table. 'How do I play?' she asked. The answer came to her. "It's simple! Just select one of these goblets and drink out of it. You would receive the number of tickets that is written at the bottom."

'Hmm. Looks easy! What's the catch?' she asked. Surely there must be something to make them lose. What would be the fun without it? 'The catch is that you may not receive any tickets at all!' Thought so!!!! 'Alright!! Can I play?'

"oh dang it" Nick huffed and stomped his feet as he saw his flawless plan was in fact, not so flawless after all. He truly thought he had it, he always made paper planes, why was this one so difficult?

It mattered not anymore, now he simply stood there holding the puny amount of tickets he had received. He took a few minutes to count all over again, it wasn't enough! Dang it!

He looked around more frantically now, time was running out, he needed more tickets and fast! He was so close! He couldn't give up now.

So he started searching, rushing around for one more game, one more thing to gain some points on, he needed that backpack! And he just needed a few more points for it, just one or two more games! He could do this!

"Yep, that's the one!" He grinned, rushing to another game, maybe the last one he would have the chance of enjoying while staying here.

But maybe this was the one, maybe this was what he needed to finish his goal. He was excited for it at least, he did remember to have at least some fun in the mix.

Siobhan giggled excitedly as she had gained more tickets than Prat. You'd think for a blind girl, she would have failed at anything that required sight to play but here she was, having bested Prat once again in something that she was most definitely handicapped in.

Prat was furious even if he acted like he wasn't which she thought was hilarious and the two of them swiftly moved on to the last game of the evening. She had accepted that she probably didn't have enough tickets to earn her bear but had overheard an older student assuring their date that he would buy it for her when they visited Hogsmeade later in the year. She had completely forgotten that Hogsmeade was an option for the third years and her parents had reluctantly if anything, signed her permission slip with the express expectation that she had an escort too and from the village. As much as she chose to wander around the grounds, wandering into the forest was not an option.

But she really wanted that bear. And she had heard there was a potions shop in the village where she would be able to get her healing potions from for the rest of her eye healing. It would be far easier when she could walk to the village rather than go to the Owlery and have to rent an owl.

But she excitedly followed Prat as best she could without getting stuck behind or in front of people and with his help they found the last game of the day.

Following approximately 42 rides between Occamy's Flight, House of Horrors, and Beast-Go-Round, plus those forgettable Ferris Wheel trips that he probably could have skipped entirely, and bidding a reluctant farewell to the Petting Zoo, Mamori's FOMO finally kicked in just as he remembered the carnival games were today-only exclusives. The fact that his attendance at summer camp was accompanied by free beds, meals, and no entrance fees somehow made the act of skipping even one event feel like the loss of five perfectly good galleons. Pretty sure this phenomenon was scientifically documented somewhere, but 12 yo Mamori neither possessed the academic references nor cared enough to cite them.

Being late in style meant queuing behind several long lines. Not very enthusiastically, he waved at his tentmate — today's organizer — who may or may not have actually noticed him in the crowd and doing so, Mamori went off between the stalls reading their descriptions all of which seemed to be fun until he came to Chalice Choice, everything went downhill fast. Ten identical Hufflepuff cups with some mysterious liquids in them were looking at him as if they wanted to eat him alive, thus giving him an unpleasant memory of a recent incident where he almost died of potion overdose. Sure, he joked about it now when people asked, but in reality he was scared shitless and would randomly hit 3 AM existential crises wondering if he'd actually died and just hadn't noticed yet. These days his approach to any unknown liquid was a healthy six-foot policy, staying far away and definitely not touching, tasting, or drinking any of it.

So naturally, he wandered over to the Troll Hammer instead. Perfect starter really, short queue due to simple mechanics, excellent platform for showing off his newly acquired jock status, and bonus points for being able to channel all his recent frustrations into one satisfying swing. And yes, he had the perfect strategy too, just needed to picture the platform as whoever currently topped his shit list (which was honestly a pretty long list these days). His mind rapidly went through a list of people but finally decided to focus on the one who'd been bothering him most lately, that damn Ravenclaw captain who scored so much that in the end, they lost by ten even with catching the snitch.

With this delightfully murderous mood, he raised the hammer.

Having gotten revenge by the power of her poky fingernails, Dee had resigned herself huffing and puffing to another round of Godric's Might - or perhaps Troll Hammer for variety - but then visibly lit up when Madhup pushed her towards the Potions Plop Panic stall instead. It wasn't really about potions, they were just the current iteration of an interchangeable object that was falling and had to be caught, but it did serve to make her more invested. (Also, the game was right up her alley, and Madhup had clearly chosen it for her.) "If you turn your head into a pumpkin, I'm not going to help you," she warned. She was rather sure they weren't real, but wasn't going to stop Mad if he decided to try random unknown potions, either.

In the booth, she picked up the cauldron she was supposed to catch the potions with, twisted it in her hands to gain a feel for its weight, then nodded to signal her readiness. Duelling had prepared her reflexes well for this. Without Mad in reach to unfairly tickle her, she spent the next few minutes gracefully spinning around with the cauldron, catching every single falling bottle before it hit the ground. Her feet remained unsoaked, the hem of her jeans dry, and the smug spark in her eyes was unmistakeable when she set down the filled cauldron and received the full eighty tickets she'd earned.

"Do you wanna bet your beard on this one, too?" she asked impishly as she skipped out to meet Mad. (She assumed he'd decline. Wisely so, as it turned out.)

When they wandered away from the stall, Dee squinted at the setting sun. "One more game?" she suggested. "A tiebreaker." She'd already picked out the perfect one, her lips pulling into a grin. "Let's see who can stay on the Basilisk for longer, eh?"

It was getting late now, and Evony wasn't sure how much longer she had before the carnival would close. She stood off to the side of the moving crowds and looked down at her tickets, carefully counting. She really was hoping to have more before the night was through.
She wandered about a bit more until she came upon another interesting game; the sign outside said, "Snitch Snatch". Unlike the rest of the students of Hogwarts seemed to be, Evony was not a fan of Quidditch - she wasn't a fan of any kind of sports, even ones on brooms. The booth was intriguing though, designed to look like a Quidditch pitch and leading to a closed room. Apparently the participates were challenged to catch as many Snitches as they could within the time limit. That actually did sound kind of fun; and it certainly wasn't as complicated as a real game of Quidditch was.
Evony stepped up and stood in line. This might be her last game, she thought as she looked around. Though maybe she would have time for one more if this line moved a bit faster. She watched the "Arcane Plane" game from a distance as she waited... That one might be fun to try out too.

After insisting that betting his beard was "a one time thing," Mad's sup-par performance in the Potions Plop game spared him the razor's edge again. The loss was played off with his usual shenanigans, and while the threat of his gorgeous head becoming a bulbous squash was enough to cause a pause, it didn't turn his course completely. He sipped a potion, gave an "ooh" of approval, and would insist on coaxing Dee into trying one for herself. He left the booth with a variety of the props clinking in his pockets. To his delight, he managed to successfully Tergeo what sticky residue clung to his boots and splattered his jeans.

Madhup was in the middle of thumbing through his tickets as if counting casino chips. The dare posed by his date snagged his attention, dragging it towards a magical designer's idea of a mechanical bull. The encircling walls depicted a creepy dungeon, with the face of a gross old man Salazar overlooking the rider, putting a huge damper on what would usually be a hot western backdrop. He agreed with a plotting sneer, doubling down by making a proposition of his own. "Winner takes all?" Mad waggled his fistful of tickets temptingly. He would insist on going first, drawing off his jacket and pulling several lemonade vials from his pockets in preparation. He dug his boots into the basilisk prop, gripped one of its scaly scutes with a fist, and raised the opposite arm overhead in a last stint of showmanship.

Vivi proceeded to the next game. To the booth that was next to the game she had played before called Chalice choice. This game booth's banner had the name 'Streeler Stealer' on it. What an unusual name! She thought.

She watched some kids play. There were five shells on the counter of the booth. The operator there, who was wearing Dragonhide gloves, revealed the number of tickets hiding beneath the shells one by one. After revealing everything, shuffled the shells to different positions and asked the kid which shell they choose.

The kid who was playing chose a shell and upon opening the shell gave the number of tickets written. "Can I go next?" Vivi asked. She saw all the shells in an observant manner. She saw the shell with the highest number. After showing the numbers, the operator started shuffling the shells in a high speed.

She tried her best to follow the shell with the highest number. Her eyes moves following the path of the shell. Left ,Right, Centre, Right and Right again. The operator stopped shuffling after a minute and asked her which shell she chose. Vivi thought for a while. She had a feeling that it was the shell which was lying the leftmost. "That shell on the left" she said. Well what could possibly go wrong?

Speech -- Thoughts

Disappointment.

Pam whined as she clutched her impressive number of tickets, sulkily glowering at the cup she had picked out. There goes my winning streak. She looked down at her tickets, carefully adding them to the rest in her bag, well even that will help to buy things, but seriously 19? It could've atleast hit 20, atleast that would've been a stable number.

Maybe she shouldn't have taken that snack break?

No. A full stomach always gave rise to a happy mind. Atleast Pam wasn't considering stealing someone else's tickets. Although now that that topic has come up... nope. She shook her head vigorously, before suddenly meeting the eyes of a familiar face. That boy from before. Pam hadn't noticed him earlier.

Well, this is awkward.

She tilted her head at the boy's hands, noticing the large stack of tickets he was gripping. Well atleast someone's done well if not me. She smiled and nodded at him, before turning to find her next destination.

It would be the last for the day. A fatigue was beginning to set in, and Pam was gradually wishing for the comfort of her tent. Then again, it wasn't too late, so she figured she could do one last before leaving for her tent. Hopefully my social battery will last for so long.

Of course, that left her with which game she should choose last. Admittedly, most of the ones with interesting names had been crossed out... along with pink hair— wait huh? Pam turned to look again; sure enough a familiar pink head was bobbing out of the crowds at one of the stalls. Pam vaguely considered joining Mamori, she couldn't remember the last time they'd spoken, before noting the name of the stall and changing direction.

I've no strength in my arms right now. Maybe another day.

Finally she found one which could serve her purpose, 'Goldfish Scoop' written across the top. Good enough. Magic is cool, after all.
