Dragon to Claw - Part 1
Professor Kāne smiled as he watched the young Ravenclaw slowly start to catch his meaning. There we go. He thought pleased that Damien at least understood a bit more. Took awhile. Probably could have got there quicker, but the Transfiguration Professor was never one to give up on people especially when they just needed a little more time. “Very well, Mr. Dragonclaw,” he said with a nod and a motion for him to turn the snail back to it’s original form. “Please.” He waited as he drew his wand and raised it to cast the spell.
Thankfully, it seemed that the boy knew how to cast this spell at least and the snail transformed successfully back. “Well done. Now just keep practicing,” Makaio said matter-of-factly as if the issue was resolved and the matter settled. “My next class is coming in, but if you would like to meet for some extra lessons please send me an owl or you can catch me another time if you see me. Remember to keep honing that imagination!” He waved his hand to dismiss his student and went back to organizing his boards and papers. He had no doubt this would not be the end of his helping Damien but for now he hoped it was enough!

Damien smiled as hearing Professor Kāne telling him he did well was exciting as he even learnt a lesson today. As he used to think he had to be perfect in every subject as from a young age his father installed that into him but he realized it’s okay if he’s not be perfect at Transfiguration as that just meant it was a challenge and he would just need to practice harder to try and succeed. He nodded his head with a grin on his face as Professor Kāne told him to to practice more and Damien planned to do that whenever he got the chance to. Damien didn’t even realized how long they were in his class room for but he noticed how his other class was starting to enter and he didn’t want to take anymore of his time or disrupt his class. He gently set his books back into his bag before picking it up and putting it over his shoulder as turned to look at Professor Kāne before speaking. “Thank you again Professor Kāne for all your help and I may just take you up on your offer for more lessons in the future” He said before walking towards the door before giving the professor one last wave goodbye as he excited our of his class room and heading back to the ravenclaw common room. His mind felt much more clearer as he felt like a burden was lifted off his shoulder and now his mind could be set free. |
