XXXI am totally failing at this, haha. Why am I laughing? Um, I'm not. Anyways, I don't feel so good right now yesterday I met a Slytherin upperclassman. I'm not sure what to think of him. He's... infuriating, to say the least. I can't believe there are some people just determined to be obnoxious and rude.
XXXThose last few sentences were pretty much pointless. Meaningless. I should start over. See ya, I guess. Oh, what's the point? No one's going to read this. [discarded]

January 12XXX

XXXThe temperature today was chilly. I'm glad I take my winter cloak everywhere with me. Today is Sunday, so I spent a lot of time in the library. More than I usually do, at least. I think I fell asleep at my desk. Hopefully no one saw me. Do you think I'm happy to be back at Hogwarts. I miss Aquaenala,¹ though. I think she must have gotten even fluffier since September, haha. Today was fairly uneventful. It'll be a full moon soon. Perhaps I can sneak out to the Astronomy Tower again?
XXXI seriously can't wait for spring... this cold weather is miserable making the atmosphere gloomy. The fire in the common room is greatly appreciated, super cozy and all. I hope the weather warms up soon so I can stay outside longer. I can't stand cold air. Perhaps I can make a visit to the kitchens tomorrow. Hey, did I do my Charms homework? XXXToday is Sunday, again. But you knew that. I mean, I knew that. Of course I did, I was the one who wrote it. Am I only gonna write on Sunday? It's just a convenient day. Uh... anyway, it has been quite some time since I just wrote nonsensical things... not that I want to be nonsensical... Class is cool. All these spells are so exciting! Like Jaculor. Not sure what I'd use it for, hitting annoying people but it's useful to have! Self defense, am I right?

XXXI don't know why, but I suddenly just lost all inspiration. I was gonna write something down, but I forgot amongst my Sunday and magic ramblings! Aw man... I guess I'll talk about food? I seriously have no idea I mean, it's been the same since the start of the year, but, uh...

XXXYeah, I've got nothing. See you sometime, I guess. Oh, wait! It's still pretty cold, but I discovered that I can wear my cloak on top of a blanket! I mean, it makes me look a little odd from the back, and it's uncomfortable for my arms, but it works! Kind of. As long as no one sees the color peeking out. On second thought, I probably shouldn't do that anymore. Fine, fine. Good night.

May 15XXX

XXXIt just occurred to me, I haven't written anything in months! Not that I really had anything to write about before. I need to work on my reflecting skills and short-term memory because this is a very unfortunate habit. Anyways! Life is good. It's been kinda rainy, but it's getting warmer. You know what? There's still nothing going on. I should try to get more involved next year so that I don't get stuck writing filler words whenever I want to write something.

XXXIt's really scary to know that my first year at Hogwarts is almost over. We're going back home in a month and a half! Guess what? I haven't gotten detention yet. Hurrah! It feels like we get new professors every other week, what's going on?? Or my sense of time is warped. Hmm...

XXXI should write these thingies right after something interesting happens. On slow days like this, my brain just doesn't want to operate correctly. Speaking of which, where did I put my other parchments? I think I lost them. Hopefully they went to the rubbish and not into the hands of my classmates.
