Is é an Béarla mo theanga dhúchais, ach d'fhoghlaim mé an Spáinnis agus an Ghearmáinis ar scoil. Mhúin mé an Ghaeilge agus an Mhandairínis dom féin. Tá mo Ghaeilge níos tréine, ach ní mheasfainn mé féin líofa i nGaeilge, i nGearmáinis, nó sa Spáinnis, ach táim i bhfad níos fearr sna teangacha sin ná sa Mhandairínis.

English is my native language, but I learned Spanish and German in school. I taught myself Irish and Mandarin. Irish is my strongest, but I wouldn't consider myself fluent in Irish, German, or Spanish, however I'm much better at those languages than I am with Mandarin.

I didn’t want to write this in Spanish, but I just wanted to say that I was in the same boat as you when I started high school Spanish! It just takes a little time and a lot of practice and before you know it, you’ll be rolling your r’s in no time!

Je n'apprends pas l'espagnol, j'apprends le français, mais ils ont tous le "r".

I'm not learning Spanish, I'm learning French, but they all have the "r".

The "r"s in Spanish and in French are different, (there are two "r"s in Spanish, and neither of them are the same as the one in French), but - the fact that you're learning French explains why the attempted "r" might sound like choking.

Ça fait beaucoup !J'ai appris l'arabe, le fidjien et l'hindi à l'école, mais pas très bien. Ensuite, j'ai appris le français et le chinois. Comme mon ami est chinois, maintenant je parle couramment.

That's a lot! I've learnt Arabic, Fijian and Hindi through school, though it wasn't taught very well. I then learnt French and Chinese. My friend is Chinese so now I'm pretty fluent.

我知道不怎么相同，但是 法语的"r" 总让我嘴里充满是一口口水。 但这样我可以烦我的朋友。

I know it isn't really similar, but the French "r" makes my mouth fill up with saliva. But I can annoy my friends.
