He'd struggle to force himself out of the paralysis he put himself into, not on purpose of course, but luckily for him, the spell's effect wore off, and he was ready to continue his fighting. The interschool team needed to learn that Koldovstoretz was obligated to win, otherwise Vladislav might just go haunt them at the next ball, wherever it would be held.

With one of them paralyzed, Moray only needed to worry about the girl's attack. And the Australian was thankful for the lack of distractions as it allowed her to avoid the incoming flames that the girl had sent her way. Despite the Durmstrang boy taking a hit earlier, he joined her in further dismantling the opposing girl. She hoped he remained with her as it looked like the paralysis had worn off on the opposing boy.

Whatever fortune had shifted in their direction Nikolai looked on in reluctance, wild eyes watched as the retort he sent burst forth what was intended to be nothing more than a small burst. The second his wand had raised though it was clear his magic had disagreed, the wand shifted so desperately in his hand and as the incantation slipped from his lips he felt a powerful surge summon itself. The spell broke forth with all the magic he had been holding within him the past year, desperate and wanting and sent the girl flying to the ground. The boy couldn't help but gasp a little, but still his wand remained drawn and ready.

She was such an idiot. This duel should have been a clear, quick win, but they were losing. She couldn’t hit a single spell, jumping around alone like a little child. She was a third year, but she acted like she had just started. The hits may have taken her spinning in circles, but she’d control her feet, control her wand. She’d do it for herself this time. She just couldn’t else. The failure consumed her, no acknowledgement of the teammate that was struggling to break out of his paralysis.

Whatever happened the last two rounds must've been too fast for anyone to process now that the game had slowed to a lull again. The Koldovstoretz girl, likely stunned by the double attack on her from the previous round, stayed grounded. Honestly, that was fair enough if she hadn't been the target of yet another Knockback Jinx. That hit from the Tenūsa girl had been nasty.

Despite being in the zone for the last two rounds, the Durmstrang boy had zoned out again, leaving only the Koldovstoretz boy and Tenūsa girl exchanging Knockback Jinxes at one another. Honestly, Morcant could do with some applause for her consistency. She had been the only consistent player, fighting tooth and nail in a two versus one for a good chunk of the duel.

The lightning had yet to do anything, too. So, really, aside from the Knockback Jinxes from both sides, not much happened.

The moderator clapped, sharp enough for everyone to hear and, hopefully, sharp enough to break the duellists out of their daze. "We're at the halfway mark now! Just letting you know, Zvereva, you can't cast spells from the ground. You're gonna need to get up. Same goes for Volkov. Gotta make these last rounds count!"

As quickly as his magic was reborn his mind faltered under the strain of it all. What kind of sport truly valued knocking out their opponents, what kind of cruelty was this all? Nikolai ended up dazed and unbalanced once more and failed to provide any useful assistance to his counter part. In truth he couldn't help but feel bad for the girl, getting stuck with such a mess had caused her to suffer a blow herself. The girl was fighting a great fight and deserved this win, so brushing himself off he decided that at the very least he could try and secure her victory despite his own feelings. He would not stomach fighting for himself, but for the worthiness of his teammate, it would be a compromise he had to accept.

Vladislav mumbled to himself as he watched his teammate suffer. Damned opponents. They know not what they do. Vladislav tried as hard as he could to try and think of a spell rapidly or some form of action so he could ensure their school the win. It was indeed that essential.

She tried. Iriliya so wanted to cast. But she was so tired, so in pain. She wanted to send a spell right into her opponent’s faces, but she didn’t have time. The Mucus Ad Nauseam made things even worse; she was dragging herself; her accuracy was getting worse. The Flipendo was a final hit for her thoughts, she attempted to dodge and failed spectacularly. She fell down. She was so tired.. she wanted this to END.

A frown crossed her face as she realized that the Koldovstoretz girl was still standing. Moray knew that she had to be close to hitting the sack. Hell, she was still on her ass. But she was proving to be more durable than the Australian had previously assumed. And they hadn't even started on the boy yet. She rubbed at the spot where he managed to hit her with his Knockback Jinx. At least her partner was alive again.

While not much really happened, one could say this round was still pretty intense. For one, everyone was back on their feet. Second, everyone was still (miraculously) alive once the smoke cleared. How on earth did that happen? Even the moderator had no idea. Pure luck, perhaps. Either that or everyone was locking in for the final half of the game.

The interschool team set out to demolish, but it didn't quite go that well. What should've been the finishing blow against the Koldovstoretz girl didn't land since she'd climbed back up and dodged just in time. No doubt a blessing for her partner. Against the Koldovstoretz boy, well... Let's just say there was no chance, not even if the Tenūsa girl tried to aim harder. It was a good effort, though.

But for how well the Koldovstoretz boy dodged, he completely missed his intended target. Moved too fast, maybe? Or something like that. Still, the spell did land on the opposing team and not on his own teammate, so it wasn't totally lost. If it had landed on his teammate, then she would've definitely been knocked out and dodging the Durmstrang boy's spell would've been for nothing.

The game was looking almost equal now, though it was clear some were faring better than the rest.
