Amortunnel Blind Date Night
Only five days of camp remained, and with any luck, the Amortunnel event would create new connections before summer's finale. The ride itself was an experience, being one of Gragnok & Sons' most complex creations to date. It utilized active spellwork, Wizard Space, enchanted paintings and avant-garde craftsmanship. The exciting element of an unknown partner was sure to make tonight's voyage all the more memorable.
Aug 26th The Fairgrounds
Closed to general admission for the day, the Amortunnel's entry parameter was curtained off from view until sundown. Once the clock struck eight, tarps were torn down and carted off by bustling carnies. A divided queue was revealed: tall hedge walls formed a pair of walkways, dotted on all sides by fragrant roses and light features disguised as glowing flowers, reminiscent of a romantic garden path. Those who entered wouldn't know who their partner would be until they emerged from the other side. No turning 'round, the operator would insist, the line's one way. Too late to back out now. Whoever faced them at the end was with them by destiny- and park boarding policies.
From the exterior, the Amortunnel looked like a long, archaic, rural sort of manor. Passing through the hedge walkways leading up to the entrance ended in the boarding area, decorated to look like a bend in a bayou. The U-shaped water track featured bobbing lilypads, flickering fireflies, sprawling ferns and broad leafy plants. A luxurious gondola awaited its passengers, whose boarding was enforced overlooked by the ride's operator. Each came equipped with a cushioned loveseat, an enchanted violin, and a glowing pink potion bottle as a bow ornament. These intermittently puffed heart-shaped smoke rings that- like Amortentia itself- smelled unique to each rider. Once the couple was settled in, the ride sailed through scarlet curtains and embarked on a "romantic" journey through four seasonal scenes, each lasting approximately three minutes.
Spring: Entering the first room felt like sailing out into a cheery Spring morning. Every inch of wall depicts a painted flower field, with live flora swaying along either side of the stream. The gondola passes beneath veils of weeping willow branches complete with singing lovebirds. Though their source is unclear, sweet petals rain down from somewhere up above.
Summer: The second scene depicts a surreal day at the beach. Bioluminescent jellyfish bob by the boat, while pods of sea creature patroni swim in the "sky" overhead, bathing onlookers in light from all directions. As the violin croons on, riders are treated to the sounds of singing whales, lapping waves, and distant gulls. A cool breeze carries a candle's idea of what the ocean smells like.
Autumn: The third curtain leads into a sunset scene, with the gondola sailing into a grove of red and orange trees aglow under a golden sky. Tea candles drift by in the water while aggressively corny jack-o-lanterns dot the shore, lines like "TRUTH", "DARE", "CONFESS HERE", and "KISS CHECKPOINT" carved with the backlight of candles.
Winter: The fourth and final room depicted a dazzling wintry nightscape. A synthetic pine forest lined the track, complete with moonlight filtering through branches and snowfall trickling from an enchanted night sky. This room's chill was strategically designed to encourage cuddling. Glistening tree ornaments of silver and gold sparkle against the dark, adding a sentimental magic to the atmosphere. There are little distractions along the way. Now is the time to focus on one another, to reflect on the "unforgettable adventure" they have embarked on, and to share any final exchanges. When the gondola arrives at a wooden dock, riders must exit by walking up a red carpet towards what appears to be a wedding chapel. A glowing EXIT sign sits at the center of a heart-shaped frame, upon which two albino peacocks roost and preen one another with tender affection.
Cards: Each gondola comes equipped with a pack of icebreaker cards. If your character isn't sure how to carry conversation with their blind date, they can draw a card, and the question can be of your own invention or something from our list (feel free to roll a 1d20).Reducio1. ────────────────────────────────xxxJarden was severely regretting ever talking to Graci. Or being gullible enough to let her dare him to come to the blind date night. The soul numbing embarrassment that was surely going to follow was almost enough to convince him to abandon the whole thing altogether... almost. But a dare was a dare.
xxxStars above, this is a bad idea.
xxxHe had spent far too long postponing and really just needed to get on with it. Might as well get it over with faster, in his opinion. Or something like that. There was nothing better to do.
xxxAnticipation was clawing at his insides. The perfect blend of anxiety and curious excitement. But besides all of that, he was simply relieved that his hair wasn't going all different colours. It was going to be bad enough without his hair pulling the magical mayhem card.
xxxI just hope whoever they pair me with is decidedly not shallow or vain. That would be incredibly annoying. And no annoyingly prideful person who goes on and on about blood purity.
xxxHis expectations for this event were very low, which gave whoever he was paired with the opportunity to exceed said expectations. Not that he thought they were going to be horrible, under all the dreading of imminent embarrassment there was some excitement and intrigue.
xxxDeciding that the dread wasn't helping anything, he started underneath the hedge towards the entrance. Or what he assumed was, the directions were a little vague.
xxxWas it too late to fake a sudden, debilitating allergic reaction? He could clutch his chest, gasp for dramatic effect, and limp back to the safety of his tent. Albeit a tent where Graci would most likely be and tell him to go right back otherwise he was a coward. Which he was most definitely not. But she also was not his mother....
xxxToo late to back down now.
xxxThe hedge was neat, green as could be. Also a very nice way of procrastinating actually walking all the way up. Plants were manageable. So was procrastination. Plants also never judged, which was a nice plus.
xxxMayah will never let me live this down.
xxxIf his twin sister ever got word of this, and knowing her, she would, Jarden would be reminded of it till the end of time. Not only would he have to face embarrassment during the thing itself, but for the rest of his life as well.
xxxNice going, Graci, nice way to potentially make me live in embarrassment for the rest of ever.────────────────────────────────↳ Interacting With: @Ruth Fairchild

Amortunnel Blind Date Night
@Tone Bakugo
Violet in English, Red in Korean and Blue in FrenchYe-jun should have paid more attention. He was not usually someone to get lost easily but he was distracted by thinking about all the places he and Tone could visit and ended up being swept by the crowd. Clearly, there was some major event happening because the amount of people gathered was even higher than usual. Right, wasn’t the blind date thing supposed to happen today? The wizard was not really a person to enjoy such cheesy events so he wasn’t keen on participating but it would sure as hell explain the huge line blocking his way. “Excuse me,” he muttered, trying to push through the group of giggling girls. He knew the spot where he and Tone agreed to meet up must have been somewhere close by and he didn’t want to be late. Alas, the odds were not in his favour today. “Ye-jun! Did you come to join the event?” A high-pitched voice interrupted his progress just as he was about to escape the mob.
Sighing, the Beauxbatons’s student turned around. Not to entertain the conversation but to cut it off and be on his way. “No, I’m just passing by. Trying to meet a friend.” He explained curtly. To him, that should have been enough but the girl didn’t seem to share his opinion. “Oh come on, you can see your friend later. Don’t be a stranger, join me.” Persistent. Blushing. Ye-jun knew that look and he didn’t like it. “I’m Léa. Léa Moreau. Do you remember me?” Ye-jun paused, then frowned. Oh…the daughter of his mother’s colleague. They were the first wizarding family that helped his muggle parents when Ye-jun got his letter from Beauxbatons Academy. Even to this day, they were invaluable support to the Lee couple. “Right. I remember.” The Korean boy was genuinely grateful that his parents didn't have to navigate the intricacies of having a wizard son all on their own but that also meant he couldn't be careless with his actions here. He had to choose his words wisely.
“Look, Léa. It's good to see you but I'm not really into this kind of stuff. Besides, as I said, I have a friend waiting for me. It wouldn't be fair to just ditch him so... I'll see you around?” Surely, she'd understand that he had a prior agreement and would let him go. Wrong. Understanding was obviously not Léa’s strongest suit. “It will be fine. You can hang out tomorrow. This is a once in a life time opportunity!” A bit overdramatic if you'd ask him. Ye-jun itched to tell her as much but he swallowed his words just in time. Can't be rude. Can’t be rude. Think of your poor mother. “Then…Let me at least go and tell my friend about the change of plans, okay?” He tried to reason with the girl. He really didn't want to change his plans. He was actually looking forward to hanging out with Tone but he had hurt his parents so many times lately that he couldn't bring himself to disappoint them again.
“Do you share a tent with your friend?” Instead of answering his plea, the young witch countered it with another question. Ye-jun briefly considered lying but if she later caught on that lie, it would make things so much worse. He couldn’t afford to be careless about this. “Yes.” As expected, upon hearing his reply, his tormentor's eyes twinkled with mirth. “Perfect! So you see each other all the time. You can just explain the situation when you get back.” What a daft woman. The wizard evaluated harshly. He hated when they just wouldn't take a hint.
“Come on! The line is getting longer. I don't wanna wait forever.” Léa whined, dragging him into the line impatiently. It would have been so easy to shake her off but he couldn't. Not her. “Oppa! *primarily means "older brother" in Korean when used by a female. However, it's also a term of endearment used by women to address older male friends, romantic partners, or even male idols. Come on...I want to write my parents about something exciting!” Ye-jun cringed. She must have watched too many Korean dramas. The term of endearment slipping out of her lips without an ounce of shame. It didn't suit her. She was not cute at all. Not to him at least. Wonderboy could do it better than you. He thought mockingly, before pausing because whoa!...how did that thought even came to be?!
Too busy trying to figure out his brain's inner workings, Ye-jun failed to realize he was already standing in the cursed line and it was too late to run away. Léa used her parents card. If he left now, she'd cry about it to them later and his mother would feel absolutely humiliated. Goddammit...what's with the wizards and the technology? This would be so much easier if I had a phone. Having to suffer his fellow Beauxbatons student sounded like a torture but he was more concerned about the Japanese boy. He didn't want to let him down like this.
“Make sure to tell your parents hi for me, when you write them.” Ye-jun grumbled absentmindedly. Not really sure what else to say. If he had to go through this, he should at least earn some brownie points for it. Léa, bless her soul, clearly did not understand the purpose of his request. She simply nodded happily before proceeding to talk his ear off. The Korean boy student didn’t even bother listening, although he did his best to look at her and hum along here and there. Still, whenever he could, he would look around in hopes of spotting his friend. Apologize and tell him not to wait for him but to his dismay, there was no sign of Tone as far as he could see.
While looking, Ye-jun did figure out something else however. This was supposedly a blind day event and there were two lines. If you were not supposed to know, who your partner was, then it was unlikely you’d be standing in the same line with them. Luckily, the chatterbox next to him didn’t seem to realize this and he had no intention of telling her. If he had to take part in the event, at least he could hope for someone sane waiting at the end of that line. A stranger that wouldn’t be interested and they could just get through the ride without too much awkwardness. Still not the way he wished to spend his free time but a small mercy at least…

XX | It was nearing the end of summer camp and Tone wasn't entirely sure what to think of this. Part of him was happy because he'd be returning to Mahoutokoro to see his friends. But another part of him was sad because he didn't want to see them at the same time. He felt like a failure. For the third year in a row, it had been three hadn't it?, he'd gotten knocked out in the first round of official quidditch matches. He couldn't help but feel depressed and wondered what he could do to improve himself for the team. He'd tried increasing his strength and even his evasion as well. But nothing seemed to work for him. A sigh escaped his lips. At least one thing that seemed to always make him smile these days was seeing Ye-jun. Tone felt as if he and Ye-jun were kindred spirits and could connect on a deeper emotional level than others. He actually felt more at ease with him than with anyone else. It really was a shame he couldn't see him throughout the year on a regular basis. The time he'd spent with Ye-jun at camp was golden and a faint smile came to his lips. Today they'd decided to check out all the festivities and participate in the events there. At least the ones that caught their eyes. Tone headed for the spot where he and Ye-jun had agreed to meet up together but the latter wasn't there. Still, Tone was early and didn't mind waiting for his friend. But when Ye-jun still hadn't come after half an hour of waiting, Tone decided to search for him. Maybe he'd gotten himself lost in the process. As a result of this, Tone ended up finding himself standing in a line somewhere. He tried to escape the line but wasn't allowed to. A girl behind him asked if she could switch places with him and he agreed to do so. It wasn't as if Tone wanted to be in this line anyway and the staff wouldn't let him leave. But when she said she needed to go to the bathroom and asked him to hold her spot, Tone nodded. The girl ended up taking a LONG time to take care of her business though and the line soon moved up past vision range. Even if she returned, what if she wasn't able to find him? What if his turn came before she returned to her place? Tone hadn't realized that he'd been so caught up in his thoughts about where he and Ye-jun could go that he'd forgotten to cast the illusion on his hair. It wasn't the short black hair that he'd come to camp with and presented to everyone, now it was a longer length white. In reality, this was what his hair had been like for quite some time. Ever since the events of Pyre. He had become lax with his hair length and color, drowning in feelings of insecurity about his skills and even his self-worth. Not that he'd admit this to anyone. It was why he'd cast an illusion on his hair to make it appear shorter and dark. As long as he kept changing his style and color, no one would notice anything was wrong with him. Right? Other than Sara, it seemed as if his plan had worked. Great. The line moved up again and she still wasn't back. Or at least she hadn't been able to find him to take his place in the lineup now. Tone was currently wearing a dark outfit, one that would soak up the sunlight and make him hot but it didn't matter. He liked black and white lately, they were his new favorite colors. He still liked gold and pink too but ever since Pyre, he'd preferred black and white now. A sigh escaped his lips as he got to the front of the line, only to be pushed forward into the hedge walkway. It seemed as if the girl he'd saved a place for would be going later. Well, he might as well do this quick and then head off to find Ye-jun. Tone stepped forward to emerge into the boarding area. But the person who met his eyes was none other than Ye-jun and Tone's own eyes widened. "???" How was it that the two of them found eachother opposite eachother now? "Huh! This must be destiny!" Tone exclaimed with a grin and came over to give Ye-jun a hug, slinging an arm over his shoulder. "I guess we'll be eachother's date on this ride then." He said with a smile and nodded to the gondola before them. "After you." Tone said, gesturing for Ye-jun to step into the gondola before him. At least they were together and could have some quality time. |

Amortunnel Blind Date Night
August 26th, 2025 | 2025 International Summer Camp (Amortunnel Blind Date Night)
-*-*-*-*-
-*-*-*-*-
It's the perfect evening, Ripley thought, as he stood in line to meet his mystery partner for the Amortunnel boat ride. Wisps of light were having their last say before vanishing for the night and the day's heat was being overtaken by a most comfortable breeze. This line was a vibe, too, mused the boy. The fragrance of the roses alone created a pleasant buzz in his head, and the muted lighting was so relaxing! He looked around at the others in line and was mildly amused that some had facial expressions that revealed that they'd rather be climbing a cactus than in their current predicament. Ripley shrugged to himself and breathed in slowly closing his eyes. Was that the fresh smell of water? It made sense since he was getting to the front of the line and, yes, the light lapping sounds of a brook with the occasional hollow thunk-thunks of gondolas tapping the dock.
A few peaceful moments later, Ripley was at the front of the line. Turning past the hedge, he saw her. His eyes widened for an instant as if to fix the scene in his memory, and unconsciously he smiled. Her light complexion was interrupted by a tenuous blush and Ripley could tell by her posture that she was nervous. She shouldn't be, he thought immediately, she's beautiful; seeing her reminded him of a cloudless summer day, walking with his family through a field of daisies.
"Hi, I'm Summer." She smiled, hoping her lingering accented voice sounded cheerful.
Ripley stepped forward and reached out his hand: "Summer!" he repeated slowly, making eye contact. "I'm Ripley. It's so nice to meet you!"
In the meantime, their gondola had pulled up looking like a love potion had exploded inside an unsuspecting canoe. Summer hesitated a breath-taking moment and then reached out to take the boy's hand. Had he noticed the pause? He had. But he pretended like he hadn't.
"Shall we?" He said quietly, gesturing toward the boat with his free hand. The girl nodded, and Ripley ushered her in, holding her steady as she stepped into the boat and sat down on the plush little couch. Once she was safely in, he lowered himself into the vessel and sat beside her.
There was a brief quiet while they settled themselves and the gondola in front of them took its time to enter the tunnel. Not missing a beat, Ripley reached into his robes, which alternated between a glittering black and forest green, and pulled out something small and round.
"I have something for you," he said, opening his palm to her, "I got it on a family trip to New Mexico in the United States."
In Ripley's hand was a smooth and nearly oval piece of turquoise. On one side, it was a pale green like a sun-drenched country lake, on the other it graduated into a shade of azure blue reminiscent of a mid-summer sky.

───── Emiline was bittersweet that summer camp was going to an end- she had plenty of fun and a bit of drama throughout her summer and would be glad to stop being in a tent and have a her bed back. She loved her tentmates but there was only a certain amount of pretence she could do- pretending she was not worried about mother- but that was for a different time. She signed up to do the blind date ride to let go and try to relax. So as the time got nearish to eight pm she started getting ready into her carefully selected outfit. A blue denim t-shirt which hugged her body, paired with a floral white skirt which went down to her mid thigh. Emiline then pulled out her battered converse and slipped them on. By now it was about 8:15 so the brunette rushed towards where the ride was and chose the left queue. Excitement and nervousness bubbled inside her. As she knew she could be paired up with anyone, boy or girl. And considering she was a closeted bisexual she was really wondering what would happen if she got paired with a girl. Like would she just be doing it for the laughs or genuinely trying to find a partner. Emiline slowly followed the crowd into the queue, the sound of laughter and the gentle smell of roses did little to soothe her jitters. Nonetheless, Emiline kept walking in the queue, glad for the large green hegde in-between her and her potential date. Gosh, I hope they are nice or at least civil. She thought nervously.
Soon, she was reaching the end of the queue, she saw a glimpse of the water track and her nerves disappeared to make way from glee and enthusiasm. As a few more minutes passed she was now head of the queue, she knew her date for this ride would be to the right of her but she decided to take one last glance at the darting fireflies and the lily pads before taking a breath and looking at her date. A girl. Her heart thumped loudly and Emiline blushed. Ohgod, ohgod, ohgod, Its a girl The gentle violin played in time to her heart and shook her out of her flustered stare. "Oh- hiya." Emiline said with a small wave and a shy smile towards the girl with wavy brown hair and a tanned round face. This shyness was unusual for the bubbly girl and anyone who had met her before would be smirking at her change in demeanour. "I'm Emiline, d-do you want to go first" She gestured towards the gondola with her arm and gave another warm but shy smile.

Amortunnel Blind Date Night
date: 26 august 2025
time: –:–
location: london quidditch stadium

For a rather precocious child, Livia often remained naïve of the natural world. Spelunking was one hobby she had never entertained despite harbouring a particular fondness for rocks, and as such, the idea of an 'amor' tunnel surprised her. She was educated enough to understand that 'amor' was almost certainly a nod to the Latin word for love, which was spelled the same. However, a love tunnel? There were so many varieties of love—the Ancient Greeks had eros, philia, storge and agape alongside ludus, pragma and philautia, even mania. Would the tunnel have magical elements relating to all of those? Perhaps even more—Sanskrit, after all, had 96 words for love.
Livia found herself intrigued, and she arrived on the 26th of August unsure of what to expect. Nonetheless, she donned an outfit with a hint of colour to celebrate the existence of all forms of love. The sleeves of her lightweight red shirt were uncharacteristically short, stopping a few centimetres above her elbows, while she wore practical—yet pressed—khaki trousers. Her hair, instead of being tightly confined into a severe bun, was instead woven into a plait that held a few flowers within. She held a small brown purse in her right hand—a home for her wand, if needed, but also souvenirs, if received.
The queue moved along far too quickly for the observant child's tastes; truly, people-watching was proving to be just as interesting as the ride itself surely would be. Some amorous adventurers appeared almost dejected, but others smiled and flirted. After a few words of flirtation floated on the wind into Livia's ears, the girl wondered just what she was doing here. She stared at two far taller students and then shrugged to herself. She, at least, would have a wonderful time exploring the ride, although she was beginning to think agape and mania would not be involved.
Finally, she neatly stepped forward until she was well-acquainted with the front of the queue. Livia glanced downwards at the canal, and then across from her at the person who appeared to be her...well, perhaps 'accompaniment' or 'companion' was the wrong word, considering this was an amor tunnel. However, 'date' just sounded too mature. Perhaps 'peer' was good enough. Despite her inhibitions, Livia did her best to meet the girl's gaze and offer a small, hesitant smile.
She ducked into the gondola, taking note of the violin nearby and the glowing pink potion ahead of her. The intrigue the potion caused her was soon forgotten when she instead sank into the luxurious cushions, both surprised and pleased by their plushness. If her...acquaintance, she decided...situated herself next to Livia, she would give @Lucille Rosenhart a small nod of appreciation. 'I suppose this is a rather peculiar manner of meeting someone. Despite that...I hope we have fun. I'm Livia—what's your name?'

✽Amortunnel. That alone was something Avery would never have expected herself to sign up for. Until she met Mikey. He was the one person Avery had ever felt different around. Like her heart had climbed into her throat. Leaving her unable to say the words that could make everything change for the better. Maybe that was why she signed up.
Maybe this ride whatever it would bring would make the right words come.
Avery wasn’t completely sure what amor meant. She knew it was probably French or some similar language, but she hadn’t found out the real meaning to the word until she signed up for the ride. It was a word like ‘cariad’ or ‘lover’. A word that meant everything and should only be spoken to a true love. That was something Avery didn’t know if she had. She was almost thirteen, but the only person able to give her advice was her aunt. And she probably wouldn’t see her aunt until Christmas. Leaving Avery confused still about where she stood with Mikey.
All she could hope was that the tunnel would help clear her thoughts and give her the courage she knew she had, but for some reason couldn’t muster up to do this simple task. ✽

Amortunnel Blind Date Night
Lucille had known she was going to go on the Amortunnel, ever since she had seen the sprawling manor she assumed it would take place in. There were rumors, of course, of what the Amortunnel would be like, but Lucille hadn't paid them much attention. Everyone seemed quite clueless anyway, and simply guessing to try to convince people to join them on the ride.
For Lucille, the concept of the 'date' was... unnerving. She had never been on a date before and, truthfully, she she certainly didn't want her first one to be here at a carnival themed summer camp. But, despite that, the intrigue of the Amortunnel was too much for her, and so, Lucille found herself wringing her hands, nervously tugging at her dress, fidgeting, but ultimately, joining the line for the Amortunnel on the 26th of August.
She had wanted to dress up a little; the Amortunnel was one of the few activities at camp when she felt she could. It promised to be a relaxing activity, she was sure, and so she had donned a simple light pink dress, the only thing interesting about it being the weaving white pattern upon it. It was comfortable, and that was all she wished for it to be. Her sneakers were a stark white; the girl had clearly put a little bit of effort into clearing the dirt off them, their former muddy gray color now completely gone.
Lucille looked around at the other students in line. Most of them seemed quite excited, more for the person they were going with than the ride, and Lucille swallowed. Another thought hit her: she might be ruining someone else's experience by entering this ride with no intention of an actual date. Lucille hated to disappoint, and the thought nagged at her now, as she stepped forward a bit more hesitantly.
There was no going back now, though; she had neared the front. She took a deep breath, letting the familiar scent of roses calm her nerves. As she finally reached the front of the queue, she got her first look at her 'date' for the ride.
The first thing Lucille noticed was that she was tall, taller than most of the 1st years she had encountered so far. The second thing she noticed was that the girl seemed as unnerved as Lucille. She offered her a smile, and Lucille relaxed a little. Even if this girl was here for a date, she didn't seem overly enthusiastic to get to it.
Lucille returned her smile immediately, almost reflexively. She let the girl enter the gondola first, and quickly followed, settling down next to her, arranging her dress and then, having no other way to stall, looked up to meet the other girl's eyes.
The girl's greeting was abrupt, blunt. Lucille didn't seem bothered; in fact, it seemed to relax her now, feeling as if she wasn't going to ruin any expectations the girl, Livia, might have.
"Agreed," she said with a little giggle, more out of the awkwardness of the situation than anything. "Nice to meet you, Livia. I'm Lucille." She paused, looking out of the gondola for a second. Lucille was uncharacteristically reserved, her nerves evidently still present. It didn't seem to last long, though. A few seconds later, Lucille's mindless rambling started, her gaze still fixed outside.
"I'm sorry, I didn't really come here for a date, so I hope that won't disappoint you. I'm mainly here because the ride looked so interesting; wouldn't you agree? Of course, we'll certainly get to know each other; I'd love that. Can't really expect me to stay silent for long, clearly."
She turned back to Livia. Lucille's nervousness would always threaten to bubble to the surface, coming out in a flurry of words, calming herself, and this time was no exception. She began to talk about how ridiculous she felt it would be to have your first date like this, but then suddenly held her tongue, realizing Livia might be there for precisely that reason.
"Were you here in search of a date? I really am sorry you got stuck with me. We'll still have fun, regardless, I promise you." Lucille's voice had softened, a twinge of embarrassment in her now, but regardless, she smiled brightly.
