This was going exactly how Beatrice wanted. The Japanese team were going down like flies. The weather was generally overcast but as Beatrice watched both the Mahou players drop, rays of banal light shown down. Was this some sort of sign that they'd win? English sun was a rare beauty, especially here in London. Bea missed the North, where sun and salt water were a-plenty. Swinging herself across the goals, she'd be able to block not one, but three out of the four quaffle goals. Not bad! Perhaps broom racing was the wrong sport for her? She rolled her eyes at the thought. She was only just getting back into sports, and she wanted to use her old dueling skills. Broom racing over quidditch was the wise decision. As the game continued, Bea was surprised a little that Mahou wasn't better. They were a cohesive team, with many of them being quidditch players from the looks of things. Bea could just tell by the way they held themselves. This wasn't a first year just learning how to ride a broom. These were professionals in the making. She surmised that Hogwarts had picked their own talent. They too were aware of the broom and how it moved. Now Bea just had to make sure hers moved like she wanted. The other team were not to score!

There was something quite enjoyable about watching the spectacle ahead. Her gaze focused in on Percival, who was to blame for her longest Hospital Wing stay yet (part of her found it impressive, the other was quite set on revenge still). Maybe she would find some more rocks to throw at him like she had done at the Loch. A sly grin tugged at her features, as she cupped her mouth with her hand and shouted at the top of her lungs.

”Yo, Perci-Pal, go crush them or I'll crush you and take your place in the sky,” what nice words of encouragement. And it seemed she wouldn't be the only one with this train of thought as the others on the playing field made it their personal mission to destroy every bone in the green guy's body.

Oonagh was quite pleased he got a taste of his own medicine while still being able to hold on. Sadly this didn't mean they were even because it was not Oonagh dealing the damage but maybe that time and opportunity would come in the future. Hopefully sooner than later.

Oonagh just really wanted to join the match already instead of sitting on this stupid bench. How annoying.

The Bench

The bench -- much diminished with the rapid fall of Mahoutokoro players -- was still making some noise, booing Hogwarts. Oonagh and Callum though, seemed to have gotten some snacks from somewhee.

The Quaffle

As was common in many an intense Quidditch game, it seemed that the Quaffle was almost forgotten as players rushed to do their own thing, leaving Miharu an empty field to play the field.

This led to an intense showdown between Miharu -- the starting seeker for the official Mahoutokoro team -- and Beatrice, a sportswoman who seemed to have talent in all three of the major sports played by Hogwarts.

Beatrice managed to give as good as she got, missing one, blocking a second, blocking the third, missing the fourth and then -- oof.

It looked like Beatrice high-speed maneuver she pulled to try and block that last shot had the Quaffle hit her at an odd angle. Mahoutokoro scored, but hopefully Beatrice hadn't hurt herself too badly there.

The Snitch

Oh what's this? it appeared that the Hogwarts seeker had stopped searching for the snitch. Without the pressure from a senior, the Mahoutokoro seeker seemed to have spotted the snitch as well.

The Big Beaters

Percival, it seemed, was not down and out for the count despite the absolutely monstrous hit he had taken last round; and sent multiple bludgers the way of Sara. Sara, distracted with his own attentions elsewhere was grazed by one bludger; before dodging out of the way of the second, redirecting it towards Evelynn. The Hogwarts seeker managed to evade the bludger with ease.

Elsewhere, Jamie the second-string beater for Mahoutokoro was demonstrating their mastery of the craft of beating, bludgering Damien rather hard; and even having the bludger ricochet off towards Aodhan. Aodhan, despite trying to race through his penalty lap, managed to veer out of the way of the bludger.


It appears that the Hogwarts seeker did not take well to having a bludger thrown at them, and all but rammed into the senior Mahoutokoro beater with the force of a locomotive, knocking Sara straight off their broom.

Kanae attampted to do the same to Percival, but Avis's aerial acrobatics kept them in the air.
"BLATCHING! That's a foul, Decipio, Suzuki!"

Health and Post Tracker

If Oonagh loved one thing... well aside from being an absolute nuisance and her seeing fighting as just another normal kind of hobby for kids her age, then it would be food. Especially free food, as @Prat Pass had since long learned at his own expenses, while Oonagh feasted like a gluttonous beast. So when met with the opportunity to eat a fresh, delicious cauldron cake as had been offered by Aly, she clearly was not going to say no.

So now Oogie sat cross-legged on the bench, giving herself the space to place the cauldron cake onto her lap and began to dig in. Who cared about getting dirty, certainly not Oonagh, as she dug in with her hands, breaking off pieces of the cake with a gooey center due to a lack of spoon or fork. But her hands did the trick of shoveling the deliciousness into her mouth and if it came to it she would just shake or wipe off the residue before climbing on her Firebolt once it was her turn to take into the sky and show Percival how one is meant to score hits.

Him hitting that giant Beater of the other school and barely making a dent was truly embarrassing. Their Seeker girl had to show him how its done. Oonagh shook her head as she continued to eat bite after bite of the chocolate fudge cake with the liquid center that she occasionally had to scoop up before it could fall to the ground or drip onto the bench. By the time she had finished the cake her lips and hands were smeared with chocolate and crumbs, and wiping her mouth with the back of her hand which up to that point had somehow remained a bit cleaner, barely helped to make her appear any more put together.

Akihito didn’t watch the actions that took place across the field this round, instead hyper focused on finding the snitch. He spotted it quicker than he expected, and was shocked to have found it so early in the game. The golden glint of the small sphere had been easy to spot, and he felt a small sense of pride in having found it to early.

Akihiko thought of his cousin, who he was stuck sharing a tent with, and was happy that he would be able to share his success, and maybe hold it over his cousin’s head a little. While his cousin did have the nicer broom, however that had happened, Akihiko now had some small bragging rights. He put on his best poker face, wondering if the other seeker had spotted the snitch yet. If she hadn’t he wasn’t going to let her know that he had seen it.

He hummed quietest, grip on his broom tightening. From the benches, the players soared into the sky to replace their teammates who had fallen. He hoped that his team would begin to step up their bludgering to take out the other team, because while he wasn’t fond of violence, he didn’t despise it in Quidditch either. It was part of the game, and a crucial one at that.

His eyes narrowed, keeping the snitch in his peripheral as he watched people return from their penalty laps as well. He gave a short whoop of excitement, flying back into the chaos of the game to do his duty.

In the role of Seeker, if an opponent attempts to Bludger or Blatch you, there is a 20% chance that you veer out of the way the last second and another enemy player at RANDOM is targeted instead.

Note: The new target still gets their normal dodge attempt. This is not considered to be an auto-dodge, in fact this roll is done before any accuracy rolls are done.

To no one's surprise, it seemed that maintaining balance on a broom meant for one person was a tad more difficult when it was now carrying two people, not to mention one that had almost been actively murdered.

Avis grimaced as she gripped the Moontrimmer tightly with her Quidditch gloves, her hands inside slick with sweat. She pulled hard to the opposite side as they began to tip on the left and took a steadying breath, smiling wanly at the seventh year's weak 'just kidding' after he had successfully raised her heart rate to levels of 'fight or flight', which seemed to apply quite literally in this case.

"Just...try to put those bats to good use," she croaked, her throat dry. Soon enough, a few Bludgers came soaring in their direction and Percival sent them sailing towards one of the Mahou beaters. Unfortunately, it seemed that trying to successfully bludger someone as a future St. Mungo's patient, combined with the fact that he was trying to do so on the back of a 12 year old girl's Moontrimmer, didn't make for a great shot. Avis groaned as it only grazed the other boy.

She didn't have much time for any other sort of reaction as suddenly movement to her right turned her attention towards a Mahou chaser on a direct collision course with the two Hogwarts players. Avis' heart jumped to her throat as she rolled sharply to the side, praying to Merlin that her passenger was holding on tightly.

She gasped in relief when she heard the penalty called. The Ravenclaw shook her head slightly. No one had told her this "friendly match" would be very much the opposite of that.

Having passed out protein-infused Cauldron Cakes to some of her fellow Hogwarts second-string players - who knew when they'd need a helpful little serving of sugar and calories to get them through the rest of the match? - Aly proceeded to eye the goings-ons on the field with a keen, albeit dubious, eye. There had certainly been lots of blatchings and bludgerings going on, most of them at the behest of @Percival Rainwood. Aly's lip curled up to one side in a not-too-subtle snarl of disgust; at least he was on her team this time, rather than as an opponent. The snake managed to knock yet another Mahoutokouro player almost off their broom, though it took Evelynn ramming into the half-dead foreign Beater for the player to truly fall off and leave the game. Aly, despite herself, couldn't help but laugh - Percival too looked pretty much like a walking, talking Inferi, as if a strong wind could have pushed him over, despite his skill with a bat. "Yayyy, good job, Rainwood," she called out in a lilting, sardonic tone; "you didn't fall off! Keep it up, I suppose." Perhaps any who didn't know her would have thought that she was cheering him on, but behind her mostly begrudging words lay an increasingly sarcastic and negative view of the Slytherin. That much seemed to be a common theme these days.

The Mahoutokouro players on the bench were actively booing @Evelynn Decipio, though, and Aly was not about to take that lying down. That was one of her best mates, after all! She shot the second-string opponents another cutting thumbs-down. "Hate her 'cause you ain't her," she yelled out across the pitch, shooting Evelynn a grin. Much could be said about Salinger, but one thing that would have been terribly inaccurate would've been saying she never had her mates' backs.

French English Japanese Thoughts

They were down quite a few people at this point in comparison to the Hogwarts team, at least their seeker had to go and do a penalty lap which in Jamie's opinion was stupid on their part. If you're going to have such a position cheat at least make sure you don't get caught.

She'd at least been able to severely hurt one of Hogwarts' chasers, but she was annoyed she hadn't been able to bring her down, and even more annoyed that when it did ricochet to one of their other chasers they seemed to dodge it with relative ease. Oh well, learning curves.

But now she was the only beater left for Mahou, which honestly she did not appreciate as much. As Hogwarts had all 3 of theirs still flying around. Not that this was going to make her falter though, she'd just have to up her game and do even better than normal, which not to toot her own horn but was already very good. But you're never perfect, there's always somewhere to improve. And she'd rather find more faults here and improve them now than figure something out during her official game later in the camp.

But now she'd just have to focus and play for 3 instead of with 2 others, it wouldn't be easy but where was the fun in easy? The more difficult something was the better the practice you could get in.

In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice at disadvantage (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself). Ricochet damage is 75% of the original hit.
