Looks like they were still up... barely. She didn't know whether that was referring to herself or the dude on the badger's side who looked like they'd pass out any moment. How the hell was he not out yet?

Ara rolled her eyes at the little "please" comment the expired milk carton said beside her. Man, she was too pretty and exhausted for this. Can't this duel end yet? Well it can if Mr. Basic would just pass out cold already. Her own spell missed by a longshot so she just sighed at that. Not that her teammates were doing any better other than the gravesite expedition who healed up Evethisawe -- they looked a lot better now than earlier when they were still the badger's chew toy.

The girl sighed yet again, they were this deep into the duel yet no clear winner. They put up a good fight for those older years, let's hope that their bones won't start cracking. Well it probably already started with the other guy who missed Evethisawe completely. Good on Evethisawe though, they were doing a good job dodging. Ara hoped that that would stay the same till the end of this damned duel.

The surprise continued, as he had managed to stay in place and had not ended up being completely knocked out. It was a feeling of relief, but he couldn’t keep thinking that he would get away with the next round. Hades could only wait to tell Damion about it, because it was the first time this had happened.

Ara was the one who tried to use a spell against Hades, but skilfully as he had claimed on several occasions, managed to dodge it despite the state in which he was. But he was determined and motivated, fighting with passion. They were getting closer, and Hades did not hesitate to look at two of his companions, silently cheering them on.

The Gryffindor thought for sure that Hades was surviving. He was so close. He only needed to stay up for a couple more rounds. The end was near and it would've been brilliant to see someone, already on the verge of falling unconscious still holding on to his fleeting consciousness. Now, she could only imagine it as the blast damage from Hanako’s cracker jinx grazed him. Hades’ body landed with a thud on the piste, the first ever to fall but it was still an amazing feat for him to survive until now. If only Hanako’s spell missed or only if it failed, just like how he failed his Confringos then maybe Hades would’ve seen the end of this match.

That aside, everyone thought it would be cool to turn the piste into a stage for an early New Year celebration with how most of the spells that were fired were Cracker Jinx. Raizel had to make sure none of those hit her. It's not fun when you are just watching and then bam. Somehow, you are now part of the duel thanks to that stray spell. It happened. Spells were sent flying towards her before… accidentally of course. In any case, she can't count on how many cracker jinx have been fired and she was not gonna bother recalling them all. That's just how much it was spammed today. Again, strategy is strategy, especially if it works and so far, spamming cracker jinx had worked wonders.

It must've been because of it that Jake missed his target, Ara. A lot of things were going on, you can't tell where exactly was your target and you can only hope that it hit something. Maybe that was the same thing going on in most of the duellists’ minds this round. Fire and hope you hit something.

Well that hurt.

Not literally but she had to sacrifice her spells for dodging this round. It wasn't exactly the greatest option but it was better than "sacrificing" herself for that walking expiration date. Many spells missed this round. One badger was down, Mr. Basic. He put up a good fight.

By a miracle, Ara dodged a spell from the most accurate hitter of the badgers as well as the other two. Were they just spamming Crackers? Ok strategy but it gets boring dodging those things.

Still, this trio she had going at the moment was doing better this round than last stage. The match seemed close. Just one more rain of spells and it's over. The dueling Gods were giving mixed signals this entire duel on who they liked most. It was getting frustrating. At this point they were playing "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe" every round.

One Hufflepuff down! Two more to go. Alright, yeah, Hanako and Mahlioz both got hit and none of their spells actually got who they were intended to get, but. They weren't doing half as horribly as the third year had been expecting at the beginning, despite her cheerful demeanor. And Ara was still standing, having taken the round to dodge, which was smart. They still needed her for this last round. Perhaps they really did stand a chance.

So close, they were so close. Villa wasn’t doing well and Hanako knew it was because he pissed of an Aquarius like him, and karma was getting to her. Or at least thats what a 2017 article mentioned from what he recalled during his summers at home. But he choose to believe it, especially now. Despite it, he hoped she wouldn’t go down so easily. It was really impressive. Going after seniors who were much older and more experienced than they were and still being able to stand despite it. Well, evidently because of his help ( blissfully forgetting the failed confringos). But even he couldnt really carry the whole team himself, could he? Not that he’ll ever admit it especially to such rude kids ( eyes ara and that moderating. Mahl is.. Safe for now).

He had been in a lot of duels, long enough to know this was a losing game. And he thought perhaps the opponents knew it too. Perhaps that's why they’ve been going easy on them, using simpler spells than what they could’ve done. Hanako didn’t particularly liked people going easy on him, but for the sake of fairness for ara and mahlios, he supposed he could deal. He hasn’t been set on fire once (unlike ara teehee).

But it was good. Oddly. Good. Perhaps he’ll bake a cake for ara and mahlioz (definitely not the moderator) for a job well done. Even if they might be suspicious that it’s poisoned. Speaking of emals, he had one waiting for him right after this wasn’t he? After he fixed his injuries up and head off to watch wyatts broom racing. He would’ve groaned at the thought of needing to wait at the stands right after a duel was concluded but at least he could be assured some food awaited him.

Theres still one more round left, let’s see how this goes.

Ok, this time Hades really WAS down. And now there were just two Hufflepuffs left....but the onslaught against the Slytherins had worked at least a little. Sure, the initial blasts failed - but that didn't stop the team from getting singed by the edges of the blast. Jake felt a pang of guilt - there was a time he would NEVER use a spell like that in a duel. A lot had sure changed over the years...He had once hated doing any spell that could hurt somebody, even a little...and now he threw off the cracker jinx like it was nothing. But enough time on the platform, and even Jake's resolve could harden a little.

But he needed to do it - this was a close duel, not something where they had a win in the bag. It was so close that he STILL wasn't sure who was going to win.

It was all going to come down to the last few seconds...He gripped his wand, took a deep breath, and got ready.
