Tonight was a night Damien wouldn’t forget as he was currently setting up and preparing to watch the Orionid Meteor shower. He had been so excited that he put up posters all around Hogwarts mostly outside the astronomy room so that people would know about it and could come to watch if they wanted too. He figured incase people came he didn’t want to be empty handed so he luckily prepared a few things for when guest arrived.

He had baked a vanilla cake and cut it up into individual slices so he could easily distribute them to people who wanted them but he also had other sweets that he brought with him from his mothers sweet shop. He smiled as he just finished setting out the picnic blanket to sit on meaning everything he had to set up was done!

He sat down and looked up at the sky excited to see how the events of tonight would play out. He thought to himself as he admired the night sky. Let’s hope tonight goes as plannedHe thought as he wanted everything to be perfect.

Night is falling outside the hogwarts grounds as Stephen works his way to the Astronomy tower, he had seen a posting earlier this week about a group of students gathering to watch a meteor shower and he couldn't wait to make some new friends. Astronomy had always been the subject he was most excited to study as it reminds him of summer nights curled up on a blanket in the garden with his dad, watching the heavens above them. I hope it is alright to be out this late, surely if the professors had a problem with it they would have taken the posters down right? as Stephen thinks this he moves a little faster as he is afraid there may be a teacher lurking anywhere to catch him. Finally he makes his way to the base of the Astronomy tower and begins climbing the long staircase to the top. He takes a deep breath feeling he is in the clear as he begins to near the top, he notices some light up there, which means he is probably not the first to arrive, Stephen knocks on the door that leads to the observatory to let whoever is in there know people have started to arrive.

Nova jogged through the halls, looking for the staircase that would take her to the Astronomy tower. She had been there multiple times, though the late nights had thrown off her already awful sleep schedule for a while. She’d had the meteor shower marked on her calendar for weeks, the anticipation building with each passing day.

She had dressed up for the occasion, knowing there would be others there from the poster she’d seen. Her thoughts faded as she picked up the pace, trying to get there in time. She adjusted the cover she had brought with her, pulling it tighter over her shoulders to shield against the cool October breeze.

She took the stairs two at a time, reining in her excitement. At the top, she slowed down, her breathing slightly heavy. Another person stood near the edge—a tall boy with light brown hair, his back to her.

Nova steadied her breath as she watched him, unsure whether to say anything. He's probably here because of the poster, she thought as she observed him for a moment. Her curls flowed over her shoulders—it had grown longer over the summer—and she gently moved them back so they wouldn't cloud her vision.

The boy hadn’t noticed her yet, so she stepped closer, gently tapping his shoulder and trying not to startle him. “Excuse me? Are you here for the meteor shower as well?”

Stephen stands quietly waiting at the door as he hears movement from within, unaware of anyone approaching from behind, suddenly he feels a gentle tap at his shoulder and a soft voice from behind, he jumps badly at the broken silence, fearing that it is a professor to tell him off for being out he accidentally slams his knee hard against the closed wooden door. "Ow!" Stephen groans hopping on one foot he clutches his knee as he turns and faces the new arrival, a slightly older student, a second year if his guess is correct, dressed in a really pretty celestial themed dress. Oh, good not a professor. Stephen looks down at his rumpled light gray jumper and a faded pair of blue jeans feeling distinctly under dressed. "Oh, ah, hello. Yeah, meteor shower, right." Stephen says with a slight grimace as he hobbles a bit on his throbbing knee. "I'm Stephen by the way, Stephen Ross. First year Ravenclaw nice to meet you..." Stephen blushes slightly realizing he doesn't know this student yet, he attempts to recover. "Sorry, I didn't catch your name." Feeling clumsy, awkward, and like he has just made a complete fool out of himself Stephen holds out his hand to make the acquaintance of the new arrival.

The sky outside the library windows had turned into a black blanket stitched with stars by the time Aiden next glanced up from his sketchbook. He'd been here for a few hours now and his dominant hand had started to ache. Putting the pencil away, he stretched his wrist, rolling it a few times to ease the tension. Normally Aiden stuck to his dorm where he could pull the curtain around himself to keep prying eyes away. Not that Aleks gave a shit about his privacy. The guy crashed into his bed to talk shit more often than anyone should. Especially when the curtains were closed. But it was by far less crowded in there than the library — he could deal with one nosy guy.

The reason he'd picked the library today was because he'd made plans. Plans, technically, with himself, to join that meteor shower watch. He'd seen the posters, but it wasn't his interest in astronomy that summoned him. Aiden had no interest in astronomy; You either fell into two groups, the young boys obsessed with space, and the young boys obsessed with dinosaurs. Aiden had been more of the latter, if he had to pick. It was actually when he'd spotted a certain pretty Ravenclaw looking at one of said posters, advertising the gathering, that he'd decided on a whim to attend with the single purpose of seeing him there.

It was easier to keep track of time when he had a real window to look through, instead of nothing but fish and murky waters filled with seaweed from the Slytherin common room. He'd made sure to arrive after the main cluster of students was long gone. He couldn't stand the crowd of giggling, too loud kids. There had been an increase in those since the new first years arrived for the new term.

Figuring that it was probably an appropriate time to leave but with no real concern for whether he was late or not, he collected his things and made his way to the Astronomy tower. The walk was long. First finding the staircase in the first place among endless corridors, but then also to walk up several flights of stairs. After reaching the top, he swore to himself that it better be worth it.

There were two younger students (to him they all looked small) standing ill-placed right outside of the wooden door. They were chatting about the event they were there for to see. Why they couldn't do it inside and not stand in the way was beyond him, but he was not in the mood for small talk. Without sparing the two much of a glance, seeing they were busy regardless, Aiden pushed past them with a simple irritated, "excuse me," to get them to step out of the way so he could go inside.

As Damien waited for people to arrive he suddenly noticed that at least three people had already arrived and were at the steps of the tower. He quickly got up fixing his outfits before heading downstairs to greet them. He wasn’t expecting many people to show up actually so he was glad that a few had showed up so that way his treats and snacks wouldn’t go to waste. He made a note to remind everyone to not touch anything minus the snacks in the tower as professor McCorie trusted him as a intern and he wasn’t not about to lose his trust or ruin the beautiful astronomy equipment.

He finally made it to the stairs as he saw a very handsome Slytherin boy coming up the stairs with a younger Ravenclaw as well as an older Hufflepuff following behind him quickly. Damien gave them all a quick smile before greeting them all. “Hello! I’m so glad you all could make it! I’m Damien Dragonclaw pleasure to meet all of you! He said smiling as he held his hand out for all of them to offer a simple handshake while he moved a few curls out of his greyish blue eyes. “Now! Before you all come inside I just have one rule please do not touch any equipment professor McCorie trusted me as one of his interns and I would like to keep that trust but with that being sad I’ve made a cake and other delicious sweets for you all so help yourself!”

He smiled at all of them before moving out of the way and sitting near the edge of the tower as he held his sketch book in his hands ready to sketch whatever beautiful scene he would see tonight as he was excited to see Orionid Meteor shower.

A Night To Remember
xx21/Oct./25x 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭-𝐕𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐚 Alluring Effect »---------------------⌲ Speech: "Example"「Lorenzo Vincenti」
x
Even when Lorenzo had first seen the flyer, the time had practically leapt into his blue eyes, the numbers glaring back at him like bright warning signals printed across the paper. In his understanding, October was, in terms of season and weather conditions, anything but warm. Compared to the south of Italy, the air in England around Halloween already carried a distinct chill, the kind that let him shiver. In addition, Scotland was colder than England. The winds swept down with the cold breath of the polar maritime air masses—if he recalled correctly from the geology book his private tutor had made him read years ago.
So the first-year, with all the sense of responsibility he could muster, wound a thick Ravenclaw scarf carefully around his neck. He flipped one end over his back and tucked the other neatly under the collar on the left side of his throat. The residual warmth from the radiator—where he’d left the woollen garment to heat up beforehand—soothed his skin and instantly relaxed his jawline. In truth and despite it, he was a nervous.
Reason is, it was rather late at night and Lorenzo wasn’t entirely sure he understood all the rules about the school‘s curfew yet. With the uncertainty wrestling his senses, the Italian boy forgot his coat, hurrying out his bedroom. Lorenzo was nearly a little too brisk, as he left the Ravenclaw dormitory eventually and walked his way toward the meeting point at the Astronomy Tower. The air along the way felt thin in his lungs, as if the masses of studious pupils had already breathed it all out in their fervour, using the oxygen to learn. Lorenzo just felt a growing sense of doubt and brushed his hair neatly in place. He saw hardly any other students—almost none at all pass him by. The night and the scatter of stars adorned the horizon whenever he managed to catch a glimpse out of a window. And so, he climbed the last staircase, ascending into the tower.

When he reached the door and carefully pushed the handle down, a silent Italian curse came to mind. The cold metal felt unruly uncomfortable between the boy‘s fingers. On quite feet he wandered into the Astronomy Tower. There, he already heard a boy’s voice drifting through the space: “…McCorie trusted me as one of his interns and I would like to keep that trust, but with that being said—I’ve made a cake and other delicious sweets for you all, so help yourselves!” The voice was calm and composed in the room. With a quick glance at the speaker, Lorenzo couldn’t help the relieved sigh that slipped past his usually so carefully arranged features. It broke free of him, quiet but undeniable a sign of relief, because the boy was another Ravenclaw—someone who, apparently, hadn’t only prepared a cake but also occupied some sort of responsible position to warrant this outing. The suffocating sense that Lorenzo might be breaking rules eased off of him, like rain soaking into overheated earth. He closed the door as quietly as possible and approached the gathering. Unfortunately, he’d missed the first few minutes of the speech. He instinctively hoped nothing essential had been said.

Settling close by, Lorenzo attentively studied each person present—though, of course, his blue eyes lingered on the speaker first. The other boy had pale skin and black hair, a contrast Lorenzo almost watched with a twinge of envy. Next, his gaze drifted to another Ravenclaw. A faint smile ghosted across his lips—apparently, his house was rather fond of the sky and all that‘s above their heads. He counted himself among those who liked to look up and quietly observe the presence of something not yet fully understood.
Besides, the student looked younger too—perhaps even around his own age. Another wave of relief rolled over his heart, similar to the peaceful ocean every time he went to the southern coast. With a second first year student present, surely no teacher could have anything against this. Lorenzo allowed his wandering eyes to continue. A little further off stood a girl whose dress was adorned with artistic patterns of stars and moons in sun like contours. The design pulled his thoughts away from the creeping chill that was slowly curling around their group. And then, at last, Lorenzo’s eyes settled on Aiden. The high cheekbones sat unmistakeably on his face, leaving the other boy every bit as striking as Lorenzo remembered. The Italian‘s smile spread almost imperceptibly, settling into his blue eyes and glinting quietly across to the other boy. One shoulder gently lifting, he pressed the blue wool of his scarf up under his chin. With Aiden here, this night certainly will be a safe bet of rule-abiding, interesting night.

Nova winced sympathetically as the boy in front of her jammed his knee straight into the wooden door of the Astronomy tower. Despite her obvious concern, a small snicker of amusement escaped her, and she covered her mouth with a hand apologetically. "Are you alright?" She asked gently, watching as he jumped around while holding his knee in pain.

She nodded along slowly as he somewhat rambled, a small smile on her face when he put out a hand to shake. She took it, shaking for a moment before dropping her arm back to her side. "I'm Nova," she answered, tone light and friendly. "In Hufflepuff. Second year."

While she chatted with the boy in front of her, Stephen, she saw another person approaching them. She had barely glanced up when he brushed past with an irritated sounding 'Excuse me.' Nova turned to see who it was, brows furrowed in confusion. The boy was extremely tall—despite the fact she’d grown a whole inch over the summer. "Sorry about that." She called out, wondering if he could even hear her from up there.

She shook off her surprise, following the boy inside as another student greeted them cheerfully. Nova took a quick glance around, noticing the cake and sweets arranged on a picnic blanket. She looked over her shoulder, waving to Stephen. "Come on, you'll miss it if you just stand there."

She settled down opposite the boy who had introduced himself as Damien, legs folded to one side and a hand reaching behind her to prop her up, head tilted towards the sky.

As she stared up at the sky dotted with stars, she noticed someone else out of the corner of her eye. Another guy, standing close by to where the rest of the group had settled. She didn't say anything, not wanting to draw attention to him if he didn’t want it. He seemed to be watching the boy who had pushed past her.

They're probably friends. She thought for a moment before her eyes flickered back to the sky, leaving her train of thought unfinished.

Stephen blush deepens as he hears the well dressed Hufflepuff before him laugh slightly, she introduces herself as Nova, a second year as he suspected, while introductions are being made a rather rude boy pushes past them with an unceremonious "excuse me." Stephen is a little taken aback by the boy's lack of care for their presence, and he watches as Nova follows the boy into the tower room.

After Nova looks back and encourages Stephen to come in, he stretches his knee a bit, still a bit sore but feeling better. Stephen follows and joins the party within. Stephen moves over to where the others are gathered. He introduces himself to the boy who seems to be leading this event — a boy named Damien Dragonclaw.

After introductions are made Damien explains that he got special permission for us to be here, which is a huge relief to Stephen who was worried about getting in trouble for being out of bed so late, and he advises us not to mess with the equipment here in the room as his reputation with Professor McCoire could be impacted if we make a mess of anything or worse break anything. Stephen settles himself down on the large picnic blanket sitting on the same side as Nova, as she seems the kindest of the people he has interacted with here.

Although Stephen does find it comforting to see many familiar faces, as he has seen Lorenzo in his classes, as they are both first-year Ravenclaws, and he has seen Damien around the common room. Feeling his initial anxiety and embarrassment subside Stephen relaxes and begins to take in the groups excitement for the impending celestial show.

They were all greeted at the door by a cheerful Ravenclaw boy, with a head of unruly dark brown waves - a stark contrast to his otherwise pale skin and light blue eyes. At first sight, he was quite eye-catching, though Aiden thought that he had nothing against a certain other Ravenclaw with an Italian accent a year below them, of course. Lorenzo, who - he noted in bitterness - wasn't there. Damien was obviusly the organizer of this event. "Aiden," he introduced himself and accepted Damiens hand in a firm handshake. Bemused by the formality, he watched Damien make the rounds to shake everyone's hand.

To be honest, Aiden hadn't really considered the rules regarding this outing when he'd decided to join - he would have showed up regardless. Anyway, it seemed like Damien had earned his favor with the Astronomy teacher and had gotten permission to host an after-hour meteor shower watch. To him it didn't matter, but he could tell that some were relieved that it wasn't as illicit as it had sounded. Aiden noted it with a slightly amused smirk. If anyone would be a teachers pet, it was a Ravenclaw. They were in the clear, as long as they didn't touch anything but the provided snacks. His gaze swept between the other guests, since he would be the least of their concern. Restraint was his middle name.

As he glanced between the others, he paused at the sight of a timid figure by the door that he hadn't noticed until now. A late-comer, but he was not a stranger to him. Enough to be noticeable in his otherwise indifferent expression, his face lit up by the sight of him, his expression softening a bit. The whole reason he was here, really. With the blue scarf adorably tucked under his chin, Lorenzo was already looking at him with a smile too gorgeous for his own good. In that moment, he kind of resembled a lost puppy to him. A bit shy, but eager and begging to be peppered with affection. It was something endearing about him, beyond the pretty face. He would never say that out loud, of course.

Aidens presence was obviously unexpected to everyone, but clearly not unwelcome to the only person that mattered. Good.

Instead of waiting for him to join the rest of them - not wanting him to feel awkward among strangers (and before anyone else could beat him to it) - Aiden left the group and crossed the room in a few strides towards Lorenzo. "Hey," he offered a soft smile, nothing his lack of outwear. "You sure you won't be cold?" Aiden placed a gentle hand on the small of his back, preparing to guide him over to the rest. "I didn’t come for the meteors, if you were wondering.” A beat passed, in which he studied his face. “You look good.” As always.
