UPDATES AND ANNOUCEMENTS

Hihi !! First of all I wanted to thank you wall for signing up, this ping list is unbelievably long and I'm highly excited to start it all with you guys ^^. I'm making this post to clarify some points and ask you some questions, as well as to open discussions regarding places, means, events, or any suggestion you might have.

Also the chat is for yapping and not specifically questions, sorry if that wasn't clear :'). Feel absolutely free to rant about the book you're currently reading, the ones your character is currently reading... etc !! Hit that little heart to get notified when someone posts (feeling like a youtuber currently but whatever XD)

Regarding the clarifications and explanations, I'm debating whether to add it to the first post of the chat or adding them as we go, but they shall come ! Just need a little more time to get everyone's opinions and plan everything on my side.

SO, here are my questions / topics of discussion for now, please give me your opinion it'll truly matter !! Trying to make this the best for everyone :3

- REGARDING THE FIRST MEETING :
I had originally planned to make it the 20th of September 2025, which is a Saturday, and around 4pm. Place would be near the great lake, and it would purely be an informational meeting as IC your character would have only seen the two posters I've made, which don't really explain much. Is this okay with you, and do you have any amends to make or suggestions to make it better ?
- REGARDING MEETINGS IN GENERAL
=> Do we want the same day and hour each week (IC), or do we want it to change ?
=> As for the place, I was thinking of making votes in this chat for the next meeting's location, does this system works for everyone ?
=> OOC, we obviously cannot start a new thread every week so I was thinking of making monthly threads, and close the previous one when we start a new thread. What do you think about this ?
- REGARDING THE ROLES
As you know, we have nestmaker/quillbearer/pagefinder and librarian. I was doubtful about the librarian but many of you seemed interested, so do you like the idea of a shared journal ?
- Do you have other roles suggestions or ideas to make these ones better ?

Since this is a book club I am pushing my Priory of the Orange tree agenda. I swear it's not as long as it looks, and it's the best book in the world and my favorite book, and the only book in the world and it will make my whole life if anyone reads it. <33

I do actually have a question!! Are there plans for a discord server/anything relating to this club on discord? (to be clear, this is not a recommendation, i'm literally just curious)

Also, same day and hour IC each week sounds good to me, I think it would make the most sense. I am wondering though - I understood that we aren't doing a thread every week, instead we're doing it every month. Does this mean we're just going to say that other meetings happened in between each thread, but not rp them?

also my favorite author is AJ White, you guys should totally go check him out (do beware of the TWs though)

Ollie ; we can totally push this to a month and a half or even two months !! And I've never heard of that book before but writing it down to search it out ^^
mahlioz ; the discord is an excellent idea !! I'll have to check if we're allowed but I don't see why not, and it'll definitely be easier. I'll write this down as something to discuss !! Regarding the thread question, yes, I think we'll discuss it before hand and I'll make an informational post stating things others can use in their rps (like "on the 17th of may, X was pagefinder, they presented X, and X was nestmaker"), etc !! That way it'll stay coherent :3 but yeah the meetings will IC happen every week, just not OOC
and I believe I've seen AJ White somewhere though I've never read one of his books ^^

Hehe hello!! I would love for IC the meetings to be very structured in their timing, with the day of the week and time being the same every week, though I absolutely agree with the sentiment of a new thread being every 1-2 months :)

Lena you should 100% try to read it when you can, Ik I was able to get the ebook from a local library, and I enjoyed it sm!!

Also Ollie is correct, Priory of the Orange Tree is a fantastic book that I highly recommend— super fun read!

I can rant on and on about Priory I wont lie XD It's like so high fantasy, there's so many different religions and cultures that the author has somehow made. Overarching plots and a bunch of things like that. ANDDDD There's POC characters, and LGBTQ characters in leading roles in the book. I like uch cant explain my love for it </3 I've read it at least 7 times, and my copy is very close to falling apart lmao.

the AJ White covers look divine omg I may have to look into that now XD if/when I can put down a comic and pick up a non-picture book /hj

TOO REAL comics are my life if/when I have time I might make a list of comic recs I have because I have so many lmao

OMGGGG YESS YESS YESS YESS PLEASE SHARE WHEN YOU CAN They have been my whole personality for like a year now XD I have almost reached 100 (I'll likely share a photo once this 100th one comes in the mail) I won't lie though, I like only read DC lmaoo
