Why wouldn't I? He's a friend; he reminds me of my another friend who talks without second guessing if it was inappropriate. I do miss his attempts to prove me wrong and then fail miserably.

Pettely's absence would not affect me that much if he had been decent enough to report his absence. I suppose it was a sudden decision and probably not his fault. He said he will make sure to report next time as he did not realise that it is important.

Sometimes I would stare at abandoned accounts and wonder if something bad happened to them to the point they couldn't come back. I obsess over it, reading their activity through the posts they left. Sometimes when I am online, I just do this. Read their posts and wonder.

Do you? I feel weird expressing it. I waste my time stalking accounts as though I am a widowed detective standing over articles on his desk, hands behind his back with a furrowed eyebrow and a slightly crumpled expression over a case he could not possibly solve because of the information missing in his possessions. I attempted to dig about Tracey Bailey's disappearance too - to no avail, of course. All I have gathered is because she was banned. My detective skills are still lacking, and here I thought last, last year that I could be smart like Sherlock Holmes.

If it helps, I went through a similar phase roughly this time last year, might have been April/May 2024. Within a month I ended up getting a close RP partner (by chance, we both joined roughly the same time). The magnificent soul who joined my very first RP thread and stuck with me for a solid month and a half was Emmanuel Bourne. I would post something - a day or two later, he'd come back with a banger reply. Sorting Ceremony, train ride, classroom threads... All the early stuff, we did together.

And then he suddenly stopped coming on. I sent him an owl a couple weeks afterwards just to say that I hope he was keeping well, with the mindset that people are busy, living real lives, and they need to focus on something outside of RPs for the time being.

With Emmanuel gone, I posted endless open threads. No one replied to them. They were all practically abandoned aside from maybe one or two. During that time I thought, "wow, am I just not cool to write threads with or...?" and very nearly decided to abandon Emily, despite the potential she had as a character.

And then through an RP Request, Scout and I wrote a thread together and started chatting in the OOC Chat. That was how we met, as most would on here. She helped fill a hole. And as you know, became a good buddy and frequent partner in RPs. And then Ava came along and we began having great conversations on here together and became another close RP Partner. Through Ava, I got to know Colin a lot better... And now look at us! And the domino effect goes on and on.

And then! Right at the end of April 2025... Emmanuel reads my owl and sends me a reply saying he got busy and is now trying to make time for the site again. I got fuzzies when that happened. Emmanuel was back even for a second, he read my message and I felt honoured he sent me a response. While I don't see him as often anymore, I feel like we still think about each other a lot, which makes me really happy!

I guess the moral is that there are other people who will come and fill the hole. You're never short of buddies or RP Partners here. They come, some go, others stay for the 7 years. It's a lucky dip, but you're never a loser because everyone's so kind and accommodating here. And those that do go and come back are proof that they still think of us in some way.

And if you still feel a little lost, then let's be lost together. As the self appointed super special awesome Hufflebuddy, it would be my pleasure to stick around for you!

You're completely right Em, as always! I know how it feels to not have as much time to rp, and am so glad that the people here who I've been rping with in this lovely community support me. It can be hard to feel a loss when someone you've grown close to disappears for a while, but there's some peace in thinking that they're still out there, and that whether they come back or not, there's always that chance. And if they never do come back, the memories you shared cannot be erased.
